The service was terrible, the wine pours were minimal, and the food was awful. I wasted over 60 dollars on this place tonight.

The Rainbow Room is a beautiful location at Lake Powell with wonderful views, but that's all. It was on our honeymoon trip in september and we checked in at the hotel in the evening. We had to make a reservation and we were told we could have dinner not before 8.45 pm (even if the restaurant was half empty). It was a little bit late but as we had a long driving day we accepted. What a bad idea! The waiters were almost making off the tables and on our table was a dead plant (better no plants at that point). Our waitress was polite and we generally didn't have many issues with her specifically. We ordered a beer and a cocktail and two entrees. The bread basket was covered with a black napkin and we wondered why it was dirty. The cheese or butter balls (we had no idea what it was) were in the same basket as the bread and got sticked to bread and napkin. The lettuce was brown and everything else than fresh and the dressing had a strange taste. My husbands achiote seared pork tenderloin came with potato puree and the whole plate had a smoke taste. My New York strip steak cames with brown dry light warmed brussel sprouts and the balsamic cipollini onions were so old that they taste soaply. It seemed all warm up in the microwave owen. The food quality was very poor (the vegetables were disgusting) and it has been the worst dinner during our 3 weeks honeymoon. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! After that experience on our first night at lake Powell we went to Page (Arizona) for dinner. As you are driving several times thru a Nationalpark (if you booked a room on Lake Powell Resort) I recommend the Annual Pass (90$), that we used also to see other Nationalparks such as Bryce Canyon NP, Zion Canyon NP, Yosemite NP and Joshua tree NP. read more

Don't even bother. I came here for a boat tour and the restaurant looked nice. Once I got back to my hotel, I called to get a reservation for dinner after reading reviews that they don't seat you unless you have a reservation. Tried calling their 888# only to be on hold for 8 minutes. To get transferred to a number where nobody picked up. Called back, 4 min hold, got a direct number and when calling, it takes me back to their original 888 number bs prompt about how they are experiencing unusual high call volume. It's been saying that every time I've been calling. Ain't nobody got time for this. Smh read more

Mediocre Food at a high price. Server who seem to not care . Great view of Lake Powell. Go to Bar instead. Great service and drinks. Eat there and save money. Go outside for view. read more

The view is the only reason you want to visit this place. The food is beyond mediocre and overpriced.

The wait time was RIDICULOUS! We waited over one hour to get our food; which was only a Pistachio salad, but was served WITHOUT pistachio! Also, we asked for no cheese, but they gave us cheese instead. Sighhhh!! Furthermore, the salmon was disgusting! Again, the view was the only good thing worth seeing at this place. Therefore, If you want a good meal, go somewhere else. Funny enough, we wound up buying food stuff, making our own salads in the hotel room, which was 100 times better than what was served to us. read more

Atmosphere 1976 steak house, smells like one too. Get rid of the carpeting and use a hard floor. Spilt drinks cause mold and smells over time. Service 15 minutes before drinks order taken. Generally slow. Interesting sparkling water. S.Pellegrino, served in a hot "just out of the dishwasher" glass. Food Good. Presented as fine dining, but far from it. OK it's not bad tasting. The problem here is politics. A single organization running all the hospitality services in national parkland. No competition means no need to improve or impress. read more

The experience was dismal. Trying to enjoy my anniversary dinner was impossible. The service was terrible. A bad case of gingivitis in your face was not a pleasant appetizer. The meat and cheese platter was from Walmart. Glade our waiter used poor political humor and tried to swindle us into buying a bottle of inventory his manager told him to push. Never again. What a great place to eat. Had the fried brussels sprouts and citrus hummus to start and then their delicious strawberry & pistachio salad. All were just delicious. The service was great and to top that off their views during dinner were spectacular. A must dine location. read more

Even though the Lake Powell Resort is not on our top ten list (far from it), the restaurant on its premises -- the Rainbow Room -- is a treat. The restaurant features a 270 degree view of Lake Powell and the spectacular natural wonders surrounding the lake. Try to get there late in the day to watch the changing shades on the canyon walls during dusk/sunset. The wait staff are friendly and attentive -- although, given the high number of customers they serve, it takes a while (and two or three requests) to get a beverage refilled or an item brought to your table (our waitress never brought our appetizer). The food is good too. We had steak and pasta and everything was tasty. So, even though we don't recommend the Lake Powell Resort, we recommend the Rainbow Room. read more

The place seemed to be the only nice option for Saturday night dinner. My friends and I were so happy with the dinner, the menu was nice as a service. Since we liked the place so much we decided to come there for lunch also. Tory was our server. I ordered the Caesar salad with chicken and Tory forgot about chicken and when she came back with chicken it was so cold, I had the same salad the night before and It was great. My friend ordered the sweet potato fries and instead they brought her regular French fries. Another friend asked for the dressing on the side, but they brought him a salad with dressing in it, he asked to change it and when they brought a version without dressing it looked like they were making fun of us. my friends and Rated this place really good and even decided to come back,but the second visit was a big disappointment. I have no idea who I should blame, but I am super upset. I would give it another chance I think. read more

I went to lake Powell Resort with my husband and stayed there for 3 nights. We had every night dinner from the Rainbow Room. Two nights we ordered food to go to have in our room and the last night we got all dressed up and wanted to have dinner at the restaurant as it was our wedding anniversary. We ordered our appetizer and drinks and waited for our food patiently. Since it was almost 25 minutes since we ordered our food we asked our waiter if the food was almost ready? He replied it should take only 5 minutes and we were like..okay that's fine..but right that instant he said," just wanted to let you know this is fine dining, not fast food". And at that time both my husband and I looked at each other and couldn't believe what the waiter just said to us. He ruined our anniversary dinner, our mood. Such a horrible experience. We complained the manager and he apologized but this experience was beyond upsetting!! Will never go to such a place where no matter how good the food is, but customer service is bad!! read more

I read these negative reviews and skipped dinner here my first night at Lake Powell, opting for gross pizza from Wahweap Grille. The second night i said screw the Yelpers and rightfully so! Drinks were strong and tasty, had a delightful heirloom tomato and peach salad. Delish steak with truffle mashed potatoes and Brussel sprouts. Everything was fresh, tasty, and cooked well. The food was decent but I guess pretty good for the Page area. The view was nice. But service was super slow when i was there over memorial weekend. We were seated at time of reservation but i think it took close to 20 mins before our server came to help us order. Needless to say tje food took even longer to cone out. read more

After not being able to find this restaurant with a listing of it's own , I thought it was time to do so. It's at the Lake Powell Resort with a dynamite view of Lake Powell. It's probably the most expensive restaurant in the Page Metropolitan Area. That being said, the bill was a whopping $84 for two dinners with drinks. Coming from California, we had reverse sticker shock. The food was pretty good. Not the best meal that we had on this roadtrip, but pretty close. read more

Very nice setting overlooking the lake. Otherwise, don't waste your time. Being from Texas I wasn't well versed on the time zones and lack of daylight savings in this particular area so we ended up waiting 2 hours for our table. We then waited another hour for our food. The food was average at best. Since we sat down at a table at 8:30 pm their time (still not sure what time they are on at this exact location) all we saw was our reflections in the glass overlooking the lake. My daughter and I dined here for breakfast on April 13th. It was about $15 for a delightful buffet but was worth more like $25 due to the view, professional, yet friendly wait staff and beautiful setting. Truly a breathtaking setting. I'll admit I didn't have that high of hopes for a restaurant in the middle of nowhere surrounded by fry bread and Navajo tacos (which are delicious but not really considered high quality fare). The Rainbow Room was a pleasant surprise. I had the salmon, tomato soup and my husband had the Caesar salad and strip steak. We shared an order of the bacon blue cheese truffle oil chips. All of it was amazing! We fought over the chips they were so delicious and my husband couldn't keep his fork out of my salmon plate after finishing his meal. The resort itself is lackluster outside of the spectacular view, but the Rainbow Room is truly a perfect place to enjoy a good meal. read more

Went to Rainbow Room restaurant for dinner, 2 nights in a row and had a wonderful experience on both occasions. Food was great, awesome view of Lake Powell marina, the staff is friendly & we had Glade as our server, the best server we've ever had! We like to dine out & Glade has set the bar very high as far as dining experience is concerned. We wish every waiter is like him: very cordial, funny and very attentive to his customer's needs. We highly recommend this place! 2 thumbs up to this restaurant & it's great staff, especially to Glade! read more

We have dined here for dinner twice and breakfast once. Convenience won out and we ate multiple meals despite the food quality. I must start off by saying the service is excellent. Cheryl(?), Anthi and Joshua were professional and pleasant. They deserve 5 stats. The hostesses were as well, but a bit frazzled. Perhaps more serving staff is needed so the waiting crowds are able to sit at their appointed reservation time and not get frustrated with the hostess. Alas, at our first dinner we were told it was their first night of their new menu. And the staff had not had the opportunity to sample the fare. Too bad. Their input would have been valuable. The Caesar dressing was out of a jar (the server tonight confirmed that) - it was so tart it overpowered the entire salad. Both nights the salads had been preplated hours prior it seems. The short ribs were actually pretty good. Just not hot in temperature. Perhaps the balsamic should not be drizzled over the entire New York steak as it is overly sweet. Tonight the hummus and mashed potatoes and pork chop were way too salty. The chicken confit (just call it fried chicken as that is what it is) was tender but flavorless and overdone. The desserts, not freshly made. They do the best they can with limited staff. But there didn't seem to be a shortage of customers. I guess convenience trumps all. And on the upside the staff is great. read more

We ate several meals at the Rainbow Room while staying at the Lake Powell Resort. The Breakfast Buffet is good but the $15 per person charge does seem a bit high..Dinner is a " reservation only" situation which is a bit inconvenient given that most customers are either on booked tours with no alternate transportation or have driven hours from a National Park and have no desire to get back in a car and search for a restaurant. Potential customers don't have many options but to abide by a rigid reservation policy. That being said we did make reservations and had a good dinner at the Rainbow Room. In my opinion they are over priced but the meals were good. Given the geographic position the restaurant has over potential clientele I would think they could adjust to a more liberal seating protocol. While we were dining I noted many open tables.. Additionally the attitude of the main hostess could use some amending. Laughing at people for thinking they could get a table without a reservation is condescending and insulting. The Rainbow Room is nice but it is not a 5 star restaurant... I think management and the hostess should take this into consideration. read more
