Food was decent. Service was meh. Staff was sort of indifferent to the fact that you are there paying for service. I can't reconcile a service business that doesn't care about service. Décor is mediocre. I hope I'm not being overly critical because the place is fine...There's just nothing about it that makes me want to go spend $30+ a head for it again. read more

SO good, well I think so anyways! I always order the yellow curry which is stupid good and the dumplings are really good too. However my partner has ordered a few different things and hasn't been 100% impressed every time, but mostly he enjoys it. Also we took a friend there a few times and he said he doesn't think it's worth the money. With All that being said pretty much every other person I've talked to about this place LOVES it! This is clearly the best Thai restaurant I've been to in Fairfield County! I always use pork fried dumplings as a test in Asian restaurants and their's are the best I've had anywhere! The salads are excellent. I've had many different entrees and they all have been delicious. It's difficult to single out a favorite, but the sizzling rice pancake is unique and wonderful. The restaurant is attractive abd very clean and the staff is very chrming and helpful and speak perfect English which is a pleasant surprise. Always an enjoyable experience! read more

We like to order take-out, but sometimes we go in for an early dinner and sit and watch the river. One of the best places to go to for curries. The rich, flavorful curries paired with soft jasmine rice is absolutely perfect and makes for a satisfying meal. My personal favorites are the green curry with sliced beef and the chicken masamam curry. The prices are reasonable and the owners and staff always friendly and attentive. Two thumbs up. read more

Rainbow Thai has opened a Fairfield location in space formerly occupied by Cafe Lola and Grilled Cheese Eatery. The interior is light and minimally decorated. Food is very fresh and well flavored. The duck dishes are my favorite. Enjoy with a Thai beer. Service is prompt and very friendly. Good place to try before a movie, especially if you are short on time. Not many people have discovered this location, making it it easy to get a table--even on a Saturday night. Good addition to Fairfield restaurant scene. read more

Very disappointed in our take out pad Thai dinners. We have had great dinners in the past. This was lukewarm,dry and not very flavorful. One was chicken and the other shrimp. Will not be going back. I dined at Rainbow Thai with my husband two children yesterday!!! It was so delicious, we returned today!! FINALLY a Thai restaurant that we will return to again and again! The food was excellent, fresh (!!) and spiced just right!! After moving up from the city, it has been dismal on the food front (aside from Le Farm), especially for Thai food. Absolutly terrible. Completely unnacceptable. I recently ordered rainbow thai off grubhub with my partner mainly wanting some fried icecream delivered to our room. I recieved a call with the owner saying they only had one left when I ordered 2. I tried to cancel my order since we mainly wanted fried icecream but the owner told me I couldn't cancel it since the delivery guy already left. I said ok and just hoped the rest would be decent.. boy was I wrong. WORST THAI FOOD I'VE EVER HAD. I wish I could've given less than a single star based on my experience. We ordered the pad thai, mee goreng, chicken satay, and of course, the fried icecream: which came out to a whopping 57 dollars.. The fried icecream was melted to shit, and the ball of stale fried dough covering it was empty. The mee goreng tasted like microwave low mein with old fried shrimp. The pad thai was decent, but most certainly not 13 dollars decent and tasted microwaved. Reading the other reviews it honestly seems to me as if the staff that works there had written them. Maybe the food is better at the restaurant rather than delivered. Stay away. read more

My husband and I decided to stop in for lunch on a quiet rainy day. You walk into a small and modern dining room with excellent views of the Saugatauck River. We ordered red curry and beef rendang. Both were excellent. I also ordered a Thai iced tea which was exactly what I expected it to be although a tad too sweet for my tastes. Service was friendly. I really like this place, the Thai curries are to die for. The prices are very reasonable for the portion size, and quality of the ingredients. My only criticism is the onsite parking which is very limited, so be prepared to find street parking and walk a couple of blocks. read more

I just went with a friend on Sunday after they'd cleared the roads enough to go out after the blizzard Nemo. Glad to see so many other positive reviews. I had the Chicken Pad Thai (which is virtually the only thing I order at any Thai restaurant because I love it so much) and I will say that Rainbow Thai's version is as good as any I've tasted (and much better than many). It was a bit more savory, and I asked for extra limes. Very tasty! We got a table overlooking the Saugatuck River (watched the ducks), had no trouble with parking (at 4:30pm) and found the service to be good. The menu is fairly priced for the quantity they gave us.
