We've been to this specific rainforest location probably half a dozen times, the first time it amazed us mainly with the superb decor and it still amazes us each time and the kids simply love it! The food though is a completely different story, it always felt mediocre but off late it's gotten so bad that now even the beautiful decor doesn't have enough to bring us back. On our last visit almost everything we ordered was bland and took forever to come on to the table. The service also has been going downhill with each visit. I wish had something nice to say about this place. Well that reminds me the first time ever we had a Jambalaya Pasta was at this place and it was delicious, probably that is why I still remember it. The experience was great! The atmosphere was fun, the animatronics were all pretty cool, we even got a spot invertebrates two elephants. My boys had a great time watching all the action and storming that happened. The food on the other hand was very, underwhelming. Of the 5 ppl that went, only 1 of us had anything good to say. And it was about the fish tacos. All the burgers, especially the kids meals, were very blah. And the worst was... Soggy, not even a little crispy, fries. We thought the saving grace would be the volcano, but it was also pretty sad looking. I was expecting a little more for the price. The price was not bad at all, considering it was AC. Avoid This Place - Rude and Unreasonable Staff, how would this kind of service to be Kids Friendly?? The service here was unbelievably bad. My friend went to the restroom first, so I sat at an empty table to wait. A blonde waitress came over, she looks angry(dk why), and told me we couldn't sit without being seated. I apologized and explained and she insisted if we wanna get done in, I need to walk back to the counter and get seated and the back to the seat I said okay but my friend would be back in just three minutes, can we do that later(I was trying to be reasonable) and She insisted I go to the front counter RIGHT NOW, for no legit reason, even though the cafe was over 70% empty. That was so immature and rude I asked her twice why I couldn't just wait a few minutes, considering how empty the place was. She stubbornly refused to let me wait and said if my friend can't find me he can just go out' which is rude and made abusolutely no sense. Eventually, she gave up on that, but then when we started looking at the menu for lunch, she made us move tables TWICE, simply from one empty table to another random table NEARBY. It was so unnecessary and ridiculous. The staff clearly needs better training. We were so frustrated that we left without eating. Definitely not recommending this place. read more

Try the Awesome Appetizer Adventure. Make sure to leave room for dessert -- we didn't, and regret it! The Rainforest Shoppe offered a panoply of WILD™ apparel and gifts. The moving animals need to be updated. There were no fish in the fish tanks. The elephants are the coolest. The food is decent . I had the salmon with rice and lentils. The kids pizza was okay. The boneless fried chicken dinner was seasoned well. I did notice they have happy hour now. The Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon we're good with the meal. Emelyn was our waitress and she made the dining experience a pleasurable one. Her patience, suggestions and checking in on us were just right. Have never been to Atlantic City and was relatively close and we decided to take a drive over and check it out, only had to wait a moment to sit (its currently during COVID, and outside seating was limited) Service was super slow, but I imagine the whole getting back to business being different is still new for most, OR this place is just always that slow, because I feel that with only a handful of tables the service should be faster if anything, but hey its Rainforest, you go for the kids to see the crazy, not for the adults... We were seated right away as we went for lunch on a saturday - didn't need a reservation. We both ordered the specialty drinks which were delicious. They come with a cup that lights up to take home and has a projector on the bottom - so fun! We had the mixed appetizer and each food item was fantastic, we loved the dipping sauces it came with too. The spinach artichoke dip had a very creamy consistency which was different from ones we've had before but still delicious. I had the chicken fajitas for my main - tasted fine, nothing special. My husband tried the new food item - Bombay chicken and shrimp which he was pretty disappointed in. The food was a bit bland and steep in price for what they were. i got the quiona pasta with shrimp. i added more cheese for a kick, the shrimp was fresh and a decent amount. i just wish it had more flavor--more red pepper or something. however, i appreciate the attempt at gluten free items and was filled. they sang happy birthday to my friend and gave her a free cupcake/muffin. read more

We ate lunch at the Rainforest in Atlantic City on Friday February 23. It was the worst dining experience ever. First of all they were out of the beer I ordered, then they were out of my second choice of beer. My son ordered a glass of wine but they were out of that also. But the worst part was somebody in the restaurant tripped the fire alarm. We had to sit there with my 2 infant grandchildren while the alarm wailed away for about a half hour until the fire department finally arrived to turn it off because the manager wouldn't do it. It's basically impossible to enjoy a meal with two infants while a fire alarm is blasting away and it was really loud. Our bill came to about 200 dollars and for what we went through I felt it should have been cut in half at least. The manager took off a measly 20 dollars. After this I showed him my aarp card which entitles me to 10 percent off. I was trying to hand it to him but he insisted he would take the additional 10% off and did not need my card. I checked my Amex credit card today and the 10% was never taken off. I honestly can't say enough bad things about the whole experience. read more

This is my first time visiting in a few years. RFC is a family friendly restaurant decorated to make you feel like you are in a rainforest. The automated animals and random thunderstorms are a nice touch. I was a little disappointing that the fish tanks were empty and not illuminated. There is a small gift shop for souvenirs in the front entrance of the restaurant. Its a nice way to kill time if you have to wait to be seated. The food is on the pricey side but decent. A few of the items we ordered were a steak, salmon and chicken trio ($35.00) , coconut shrimp and fries ($21.00) , burger and fries ($17.00) and mozzarella sticks ($10). Everyone enjoyed their meals. Overall we enjoyed ourselves and will visit again next time we are in the area. read more

The Ahi Tuna I had was amazing, they have a wide variety of food and someone had a BBQ burger which was great! The drinks are okay, but with a alcoholic drink you get a free souvenir cup in a little box so it makes up for the price you pay for it. I would definitely say take the kids here! The ambiance was nice. It has a nice forest feel with branches all over, huge electronic butterflies and occasional monkey calls. There's a beautiful waterfall with a man inside. The scenery is very exciting. Service was atrocious. It took over an hour for our food and that was with us asking about it. Some of it arrived cold some not until the end of the night. I ordered the Korean chicken and rice. There was a little rice on top. The rest was drowned in soupy sweet and salty sauce. The Only Review You Need To Read The good: they have interesting offerings on their menu, the decor throughout is amazing and it's a great place for kids, as evidenced by their birthday celebrations and gift shop (although Tracy Tree can be a little disturbing). And as a card-carrying member of their Landry's Select Club, I highly recommend signing up for a membership. For a one time $25 fee, you get a lot of benefits including priority seating if there's a line, which alone makes it worth it because there usually is a line. So if you're already dining here, you know you can afford it, so sign up. The not-so-good: I've always found the actual taste of their food a little on the bland side; such as the case during our most recent visit. I ordered their Amazing Appetizer Adventure which although it's meant to be shared with your table mates makes a pretty filling meal to be eaten all by yourself. I will say the meat on the chicken fingers was a little rubbery which gave me the impression it wasn't cooked thoroughly. The potatoes that came with my girlfriend's dish were very dry. The creole mac & cheese my daughter ordered tasted like spicy meh. Also, this was my first time at THIS Rainforest Cafe. My other two experiences were in California - at the Downtown Disney resort (which has since closed down due to a massive reconstruction in the area where it was) and Ontario Mills shopping plaza. Both were very impressive (appearance-wise), yet both had tropical fish swimming around in the large tanks as you enter the restaurant area (no fish at all at this location). And in the California locations, the elephants flapped their ears when they "communicated" with each other. No movement at all at this location. I was about to rail on the fact that the monkeys also didn't move at all until I saw one swinging on a tree branch and a gorilla off in the distance beating its chest. And I didn't see any swamp with a crocodile lunging out at those who got too close, but that's fine - there wasn't the luxury of extra space for that kind of a display at this location. Final assessment: this is a great place to take people visiting from out of town and to watch their reaction when "a storm" hits, kids love it and it's a great location right there on the Boardwalk. Just know you're going for the ambiance and an okay (not great) meal. read more

If the food is as bad as the wait service time, I'm in for a horrible meal. And the results are in the food is horrible. The last few times we've been here the wait after being seated has been terrible! The customer service has been terrible! And it's always a slow time, between the lunch and dinner rush. This last time, about two weeks ago, we came in and were seated quickly. Waiter comes over pretty quickly also. We put in our drink order, mostly waters and a few beers, and an app. We waited over 30 minutes for the water before we decided to leave. Which really sucked since it was our kid's 21st and 22nd birthdays and they had never been. They wanted to stay so badly! We watched our drinks and beers getting warm in the pick up window. Where our waiter walked to at least 6 different times without picking them up to bring over to us. Our appetizer came out before our drinks did. We counted 12 waiters and waitresses, 10 tables, and still had to wait forever. Never even saw our waiter go to another table. It's like the waitstaff here just disappears. You can't even track them down. We ended up paying for the check and leaving. No effort made to remedy the situation or take any items off of our bill. Made it clear as to why we were leaving as well. Hopefully they fix the issue soon. Even though I doubt at this point we'll be giving them another chance. I'd say don't waste your money here unless you just want to experience the "thunder storm" for three minutes. And if that's the case, I'd be seated and not order. Just leave after. read more

This was my first time visiting Atlantic City, and the first thing I noticed is how we couldn't find a restaurant that everyone could enjoy with their eating preferences. It was also a weekend, so things were packed out. I love places with a full ambiance and I stumbled across this one because AMBIANCE ON POINT! When you first enter, there's a cute gift shop and immediately after that you enter an actual jungle. Beautiful decor from ceiling to table, and we entered during a 'rain storm' which made me look great to everyone as I chose the place to eat. We ordered virgin Pina colada's for the table of 4, and everything we ordered was great. I specifically remember the coconut shrimp, mashed potatoes and chicken fingers. SUPERB!
