Great locally owned coffeeshop! Elliott and Jerry make great coffee, old fashioned egg creams and sodas, sandwiches and baked goods like muffins and cheesecake bars. Their custom roasted coffee has a unique, creamy, rich taste. I usually get a latte, which is great both hot or iced. I had a breakfast plate here once which had plenty of turkey, a fluffy muffin with butter, eggs and cheese. Their cranberry orange muffin is SO good, as is their lilikoi cheesecake! Update: after they expanded next door, there's plenty of tables if you want to eat there or bring a book and enjoy your coffee for a bit. read more

His Positive attitude and the quaint, peaceful decor of this little bakery made our visit all the more enjoyable. I miss going there. This was my go to place and having a chat with the uncles while eating my breakfast and drinking my coffee. The atmosphere and the music played felt so relaxing. Our conversations was amazing. Being there even for an hour or so made it feel I was in a whole different world. It was one of my secret serenity places. The desserts was delicious. And my personal favorite was the gingerbread man cookie. Lol. The holidays was great. The cafe was lighted with soft billow white lights that would bounce off the lime green walls. Quaint neighborhood coffee house that is clean and bright with colorful art on the walls and local-style printed upholstered chairs at the tables. Friendly service by men in crisp white shirts and red ties -- very nice! Tried the egg cream chocolate soda, which is a mild carbonated drink with milk in it. Delicious! Tried the lilikoi bar and butter muffin. The muffin was a little dry but the taste was good. It's difficult to ruin a lilikoi bar (much like a lemon bar), which definitely tasted like lilikoi, one of my many favorites! read more

I think the hole in the wall shops are the best, it's the way people treat you and the love and care they put into their products and such. 3.5 stars Such a cute coffee shop in the row of businesses where Auntie Pastos is located. The proprietors are two nice guys who are trying really hard to offer a high-quality, friendly experience. I've been here now several times and usually pick up baked items for my assistant ( chocolate or lilikoi cheesecake) or different departments at my office. When I stopped in this last time, I ordered the prosciutto and provolone sandwich for $16. if you want macadamia nut pesto or have it toasted Panini style, it's an additional dollar each. They don't mention this when you order it. You also get a small salad and a pickle. They do cut the meat when you order it and it is made to order. But for $16, I really expect more. I think this sandwich is overpriced for what you get. The egg cream was delicious and the recommendation to have the raspberry flavor was a good one. The butter muffin toasted the next day with coffee was a nice breakfast. I just wish they would have more oompf for the price of their sandwiches or ( Dream on) lower the prices a little. Cute little bistro with amazing muffins and sandwiches. With the busy street outside, you can escape to this comfortably decorated and spacious seating cove of delicious heaven. Owners are sociable and very friendly adding personal touches to every step of the experience. Only issue is the difficult parking in the area. Easily. So well made, our barista was a kind and well-mannered man who knows what he's doing. I thoroughly enjoy the experience and ambience of this shop, it gets incredible sunshine in the mornings, perfect way to start the day!! Try the food, it's delicious! (don't believe me? BEST Blueberry Muffins Ive ever had...and from what many people tell me, also the best coffee. I dont drink coffee often so couldnt tell you the difference, but everyone ive taken their raves about the coffee after tripping out on how good the muffins are. The service their is excellent always friendly and chatty, and always have you taste the coffee before you leave to see if you are satisfied. They always ask if you want the muffins warmed before you leave if taking them to go, yes do this if you happen to dig in before reaching destination. I always get one extra to devour in the car. Crispy on the outside, light moist and fluffy on the inside, not too sweet, just perfect. I wish i could make these in Vegas... Ive had a few breakfasts there and always love the attention to detail they have and everything tastes so fresh and the cafe has that relaxing calm feel to it. I love it! read more

Welp, no need to search any further. Hands down DA BEST latte I've had on island. So many awesome things about this place...I don't know how I didn't discover this place, earlier. First off, Elliott, the owner is extremely sweet and helpful! He literally explained (w/ visuals) every single coffee drink to me. He also told me he'd take care of the money, after I enjoyed my meal. So sweet! Found out he's originally from San Fran and he is retired and just doing this for fun. Thank God for him! Lol. He chatted with me for a bit about his shop, coffee, and his great customers. So cute! Now for the food/drinks: Latte: SOOOOO GOOD!!! Flavor was extremely smooth and I was super impressed by the super thick layer of foam! So much foamy goodness left even after I finished my drink. The smooth flavor is a result of using light-medium roast espresso instead of dark roast espresso (warning...this means, more caffeine!). I ordered a single shot and I def felt the kick! I was so impressed w/ the coffee that I had to ask Elliott if he had lived in Europe at any point. lol (he hasn't). Lilikoi Cheesecake: OMG!!!! As if the delicious latte wasn't enough; this cheesecake absolutely sealed the deal! Amazing texture, flavor, consistency, etc! The best cheesecake I've had on island! Could totally taste the lilikoi flavor and it was a good size...this along with the latte; filled me up. Elliott told me that his co-owner, Jerry, is the baker and makes the best desserts and I will confirm this...must try every flavor! Next time, I'll go for the guava. Don't let the simple exterior fool you. This place is a dime! It's not a hipster kind of place; it's a super quaint, neighborohod café w/ literally, the best latte and cheesecake I've ever had. We have been waiting for a dream like this little cafe to come to our neighborhood! Upon arrival, we walked into a little cafe that looked like it had jumped out of the Bay area's best, only to be greeted by the sweetest smile. Elliot, one of the owners and baristo, cared for us in a way I wish all cafes could. He was knowledgeable, so hospitable, and made us the most wonderful lunch with the most amazing dessert to follow. Confession: I almost don't want to talk about the dessert because I want it to stay a secret...but the chocolate cheesecake was absolutely superb. Like, grandma-status-good! I mean...seriously....one of the best things I've eaten this year. On top of that, my husband enjoyed a REAL macchiato and I had one of the best cappuccinos I've had in a very long time. Second time here for both espresso and treats. The espresso is consistent and earthy. We enjoy the owner/barista's passion about his shop and quality of his coffee beans. They use a light/medium roast for their espresso instead of the traditional dark so it has a higher caffeine punch. A double iced espresso is $3.75 and each additional shot is $1.25 so each of our iced quad shots were each $6.25 which is more expensive than say The Curb Kaimuki which also has amazing espresso. Raintree has delicious bakery treats. We have tried the lilikoi bar, gingerbread cookie, and chocolate cheesecake and loved all three. The desserts run $2.50-3.50. read more

Finally found a lovely cup of coffee that isn't too bitter neither overly sweetened making for a smooth balanced flavor. Also loved that I could actually taste the ginger in the gingerbread cookie and the texture was on the softer side. I was greeted and made to feel at home as soon as I walked in. Raintree Bakery Coffeehouse, opened now for 1 1/2 years and is in the process of expanding, has so much potential to be better as a unique neighborhood cafe with a loyal following. But it's going to have to take more to earn my loyalty. Contrarynto the experiences of other Yelpers, I was not impressed. A cafe that beckons me back will have: - consistently great coffee - delectable baked goods - a variety of other food items - a bathroom - free Wi-Fi - outlets to power devices - free parking - convenient location - friendly staff Elliott, who I am guessing is the owner, was also the barista. He is destined to succeed, graciously welcoming every guest and making sure they were satisfied. Elliott touts the organic, natural ingredients in their baked goods. Those who sip and savor their brew at the cafe are billed at the end a la restaurant style. Elliott gets high marks for the "friendly staff" criteria. However, my first visit has not compelled me to return so quickly for a second. Why not? - Elliott did not know how to make a breve latte, which is a latte with steamed half and half. He said he was going to make it with whipped cream instead! Anticipation turned to disappointment as I took my first sip which was COLD, thereby curdling the whipped cream into globs of fat floating on top of my latte. Elliott was quick to make it right, and without my asking, brought me a different experiment. It was much better, and HOT. I was grateful for that, inasmuch as my expectations were lowered. He said this time, he steamed the whipped cream and added vanilla. Brilliant. The size of the latte is small. Good thing I actually had TWO. - I ordered the lilikoi cheesecake, but I was served the lilikoi bar. Perhaps I should have taken the bar, because the lilikoi cheesecake was surprisingly dense and dry, like it wasn't fresh. It was also very tart. If it was fresher, lighter, more moist and fluffier with a crispier crust, it would be a winner. - They did offer other food items such as breakfast & sandwiches - but none were ordered on this visit. - Raintree is located on Pensacola across the Petco & Walgreens complex. Metered parking is on the street, with around 6-7 stalls fronting the cafe on Pensacola. However, nothing is a bigger killjoy for languishing at a cafe than to have to feed the meter every 20 minutes. - It's not really a place to languish, anyway. I didn't notice any accessible power outlets situated next to the tables. There is no Wi-Fi (Elliott says the service in the area is bad) and sooner or later you're going to want to go to the bathroom, only the closest one is across the street in "Aisle 9" of Walgreens! It's a clever way to turn the tables over, I suppose. No one stays for any extended period of time unless they have a strong bladder, an engaging conversationalist, a backup battery bank, and an unlimited data plan. I wish them well as they expand their cafe. read more

I ate here couple days ago and found this place food to be okay.. nothing really special but the bakery I would definitely give 4 or 5 stars. This review is based on the food that I ate which was a grilled pastrami with pesto sandwich and ice latte. My girlfriend had prosciutto and eggs with a muffin. The only thing that really stood out was the muffin. You could really tell that someone baked it couple hours prior to the meal and it tasted very good. The Grill pastrami sandwich cost about 14 dollars with my double shot frozen latte costing me 6 dollars.. In total this meal cost me 20 dollars with her prosciutto and eggs costing another 14 dollars... Was it good? It was decent.. nothing really to complain but was it worth the price? No.. if the grilled sandwich cost me like 10 dollars or less then I would give this place a higher rating. The sandwich was not very big and came with a small salad... I don't know about you guys but I like a hearty breakfast that I could leave satisfied.. The Bakery was very good. If you're going here please try out the bakery ! Service was good! There was only one worker so it was a big slow but you can't really complain with this being an early Saturday and this place just opened up for the day. read more

This is such a cute little coffee shop!! I came here to wait for my doctors appointment next door at kaiser. When I came there were two cute old man working at that time. I'm not sure if they were the owner but the old man who took my order know his coffee. I order a caramel macchiato but the real one not like Starbucks according to him and an organic granola yogurt. The coffee was perfect, it wasn't bitter or so sweet. The granola looked small but it filled me up quick! It tastes like fresh yogurt and not like the one you find at the supermarket... The shop has a cute, relaxing ambiance, with pictures of the ocean on the walls and lots of light filtering in from the glass windows. I chose a small table by the corner. My meal was brought to me, and it exceeded my expectations, despite the fact they were high due to other excellent reviews. The espresso was rich and creamy but not bitter, and the sandwich was scrumptious. Whether you are coming in for a quiet spot to read or for a casual conversation with the neighbors, or simply for the delicious coffee and a bite to eat, this is the place! The owners Elliot (who does the coffee) and Jerry (who does the pastries) are very friendly and clearly interested in making sure you have both quality food and a quality experience.
