This was our second time at a Raising Cane's. This location was ridiculously busy but we managed to find a seat because a group was leaving as soon as we got our food. I might get some flak for this but it was just "so-so". Visiting Athens today I had to try Raising Canes. Everyone has raved about this chain. I tell them of a different premium tenderloin chicken chain that I love and everyone said I had to try this one; so I did. This location has a horrible parking lot design. If you park you will have a very tough time leaving due to the drive thru lane blocks all the parking spaces. (-1). If you choose to eat here, do yourself a favor and find yourself a parking spot nearby and walk. Enter into the establishment and it was clean and welcoming. Cashier was friendly. I asked a few questions which she answered and placed my order. Now, right off the bat I do not like the mayo/thousand island looking sauces that every chicken chain has. Most chains have 6-10 different flavors but not here. You get their version of "thousand island" called cane sauce or honey mustard. That is it! (-1) Food arrived. Looked good. Fries were a crinkle cut, almost shoestring, style. No seasoning at all; just plain fries (-1). Coleslaw was good. Toast was great. Honestly, the best part of the meal. Chicken was ok. It had no real flavor and that's where a good dip would come into play. Unfortunately, they lack any variety of dips so it's basically just fried chicken tenders. Overall, I'm not impressed and will not revisit Raising Canes. IMO, there are so many better options to choose from. read more

I don't think I have ever done a review on fast food. I have to say that a Raising Canes, like a chick fila, is a license to print money. From open to close the location on Baxter is busy. I go in for a gallon of sweet tea for football games. I went in today abs like usual, they are busy. I did not get the name of the manager, a lovely woman in a black shirt that said cashier and cook. She was so sweet to me, even remembering to put some lemonade at the top of my tea. She leads her shift. She encourage a cashier to watch his floors with the ice under the counter. She is constantly moving! There is also another younger girl kind of little but man can she run a kitchen and counter!!! This is such a great spot to go to. First things first, I want to say I think it's worth a try. The food is really good, and when I say good I mean like it's GOOD. The chickens crispy like no other places I've tried and their Canes sauce is good too. The only thing I didn't like about it was the wait time and how little seating there is. It seems like it'll get full easy at the busiest hours. Also, if you want to go through the drive thru, the line sometimes goes out on the road. And parking is very minimal, so if possible park somewhere else or walk. Overall, it's a good restaurant and worth a try. read more

Don't understand the hoopla ??? Line was long as all get up. After leaving and getting lost. We ending up coming back as the cars seemed to be moving faster than expected. We finally just went into drivethru and ordered 4 meals and I was honestly a little shook when I saw our total. The menu is extremely limited so therefore I figured the food has to be just THAT good. Had been wanting to try Cane's for a while so I finally made the trip to Athens! When we got to Cane's, the line was INSANELY LONG so be prepared. It took us at least 30 minutes to get through the drive thru line (which went onto the street) at dinnertime on a Friday. The food itself was super yummy. It had a pretty simple menu, similar to Zaxby's just smaller. I got the 3 piece combo. The chicken was so delicious, super tender and flavorful. The fries were crinklecut and salted perfect. The Texas toast was good, but not my favorite. Overall, I would definitely go again, I just wish there were more locations and the line was shorter!! read more

So here it goes. In general, I love the chicken tenders from this restaurant. It is juicy and delicious, and the fries are mouthwatering. The slaw is not sweet, but not vinegary, rather a nice balance for the fried chicken and fries. Yeah yeah, we love Canes. My most egregious criticism is for the parking lot. If there are cars in line, you literally cannot back up and leave, if you parked and went inside. When I parked and went inside the line for the drive thru started at the end of the building. When I exited a few minutes later, the cars in the drive thru extended the parking lot and into the street. I was unable to back my car and had to wait until someone noticed I needed to back. It's the worst, and I mean worst fast food parking lot design that I've ever seen. That makes it incredibly frustrating and inconvenient (especially for fast food). read more

Food's alright. As good as Zaxby's, but I mean. It's chicken fingers. That's all. Well, fries too. Service was good. They smiled and took our order. It was cold inside, but their decor was trendy. The seating is fine there are some tables for 2, 4, and then there's some booths for 4. My little brother made us drive out here because "they have THE BEST chicken" and he kept calling it a restaurant, so we definitely weren't expecting fast food. It took us 1.5 hours to get there from our hours and another 2 hours to get home (due to traffic). I was less than satisfied with my journey. If I lived in Athena, nearby, maybe I'd visit them. I really wanted to know what all the hype about Raising Cane's was - isn't Zaxby's good enough?! Turns out, there's actually a huge debate about who does it best, which I had no idea about. This location is the closest to Atlanta so I had to check it out while passing through! Since we had already eaten dinner... I just ordered the 3 finger combo, which comes with fries and a drink. Overall, it was super tasty, crispy and delicious. But some things to point out... I definitely liked Raising Cane's fries better. They are thinner than Zaxby's crinkle fries and I realized now that prefer it thinner. The fingers are not as good to me (although now, I'm thinking I'm going to have to do a side by side taste test to be sure) - the breading is a little too thick for me. But it was still crispy! I also prefer Zaxby's Zax Sauce to Cane's sauce. While Cane's sauce is good, it seems to be missing something that I just can't put my finger on. Overall, when in Athens, I would definitely stop at Raising Cane's again over Zaxby's, just because I can't get it in Atlanta. However, to claim that Raising Cane's is BETTER? Eh. read more

Hands down my favorite chicken finger on earth! Made fresh to order, canes chicken tenders are pipping hot when you take your first bite. The Tendies are extremely tender and juicy, and the batter and breading has a crisp crunch that leave an imprint you won't soon forget. And let me just add this, I live over an hour and forty minutes from this location ( the only one in Georgia as of now), and I drove to Athens for the sole purpose of getting these tenders as well as Texas toast today. THE ONLY CANES IN GEORGIA!!! ive been wanting to try canes for awhile now since everyone talks about it. i believe this is the only one in Georgia :( so i had to go and try it myself! the line was RIDIDICULOUS... onto the street and took about 30-40 mins to get thru it. we wanted to order inside since the line was long but they locked the doors and i guess are only taking drive thru right now. the menu isn't very extensive and i got the 3 finger combo which comes with 3 chicken tenders, a drink, fries, toast, and canes sauce. it was reasonably priced for the amount of food given. the tenders are so tender and crispy!! i really enjoyed them, especially with the canes sauce. i now understand the hype over them! the fries were pretty good. they're crinkle cut without any seasoning (just salt). they don't give a big amount of fries though. AND OF COURSE THE TOAST IS FIRREEE. so soft, thick, and buttery. overall the line was extremely long and slow. however, once you ordered it was pretty fast getting your food. I'm glad i tried canes and would love to get it again if it didn't take forever. read more

The breading is light and crunchy and the tenders are juicy and your food comes out hot. Their fries are simple but crispy on the outside and cooked to a nice bite. This is a busy store at times since it is in a college town and young folks love chicken fingers. I find through the week if you arrive at the bottom of the hour up to a quarter of, the crowd wanes as a lot of classes end at the top of the hour and the students flood in. The chicken is cooked to perfection. Moist, crispy outside with just the right amount of salt. No salty seasoning making these sodium bombs as the other well known chicken place serves. The pieces are plump and ample size. The fries are crinkle cut but of a smaller variety. They were also hot and cooked on point. Then there is the toast. Perfectly buttered and toasted. This morsel of heaven has a slight crust on the outside and a cloud like softness on the fresh bread inside. A pure Joy. This location is clean and well kept and the ambience is young and exciting as the patrons. Parking can be tricky depending on when you arrive, "see above" as the drive through gets backed up during the lunch rush. Trust me, it's worth the wait. read more

We did find that if you leave the game a little early and go by, you can get in and out just a few minutes. The personnel working last Saturday was very pleasant and quite enjoyable to talk to. Amazing chicken and sauce!!! These were probably the best chicken tenders I've ever had. They were way better than Zaxby's, and I think the slaw was too. The fries could have used a bit of seasoning, but the value was great. The drive thru was also very easy. I'm giving 4 stars because I asked for unsweet tea twice and then confirmed again at the second window, but I was still given sweet tea.
