Adj: Fresh and Tasty, but maybe not so Healthy We've never been to one, but my kids got 2 kids free meals certificates (for reading a good number of books) from the library so we decided to try it when we were hungry after a long day of fun. They each ordered the kids meal of 2 chicken fingers with organic milk (glad they had that option instead of just sugary juice) and fries. We ordered 2 extra sides of fries for us as we weren't that hungry and didn't know if their chicken would be mostly batter or what. The gal who took our order was patient as I asked how big the coleslaw side and fries would be. The mgr walked over to approve the free kids meals certificates and asked her if they're legit ones (as apparently there's some fakes that are not stamped by the library? lol.... Or so I overheard...). The food was freshly made and was piping hot after maybe like 5-10m. My kids enjoyed the fries the most of course as we did too even though they are just frozen crinkle cut fries, so technically nothing special, and my fries-loving husband even liked them. They gave us a lot of fries in the side orders. The sauce was so good for everything, it's like a thousand island, but a bit different as it's got what looks like pepper in it, but no relish. The chicken fingers were surprisingly delicious, super hot so we had to wait to eat them, but they were gooooood! This location was fine, clean enough, but not much in the way of atmosphere for a fast food place. Hubby picked up dinner from here the other night. We feed 4 adults so we get 2 caniacs, no drinks, no slaw, double fries, plus 2 more chicken strips & extra bread. This was one of the most uncomfortable restaurant experiences I've had. While I was ordering, I witnessed the manager, Yavana, repeatedly yelling at and speaking disrespectfully to her coworkers right in front of customers. It wasn't just a firm or busy work environment. The way she spoke to them was rude, demeaning, and completely unprofessional. Watching employees be treated like that made me genuinely uncomfortable. At the time, I didn't know who she was. Afterward, I asked one of the employees for her name and learned it was Yavana. I also found out she was the manager, which honestly made the entire situation even more disappointing. A manager should be setting the example for professionalism and respect, not berating employees on the floor where customers can see and hear everything. It created a very hostile atmosphere and completely ruined my experience. Everyone deserves to be treated with respect, especially by their manager. Because of this experience, I won't be returning to this Cane's. I sincerely hope the employees there are treated better than what I witnessed during my visit. read more

I ordered thru the drive thru at Canes at Baseline/Cooper. When I got home I saw that one of the Caniac Combo boxes had only 4 chicken tenders in it instead of the 6 and also minus one sauce. I decided to call the store and talked to the rudest manager. I cannot believe that for good customer service he would not credit me for the shortage that I paid full price for. He took the receipt number, the description of my car, the time I went thru the drive thru and then said there was proof that both boxes had 6 pieces of chicken in it and he said he couldn't figure out what happened between them handing it to me thru the window and when it got into my car! I said well what happened was they put a wrong box in my bag. He said no that didn't happen. He did not believe me and said I could call Corporate if I wanted to. We were very disappointed because this is not what we know to be Canes quality especially for $39. 'NKD BIRD'. $10.79 x2 In each box: - 3 tiny little chicken nuggets (would be too much of a stretch to call these chicken "fingers"). So 1 nugget was missing from each box. - No slaw, as stated on receipt but certainly not requested. - The smallest number of fries that I've seen in any fast food combo. Receipt stated 'extra fries' which is ironic, though again nothing we requested. Although, had the receipt been accurate ... a few extra fries (to add to the few fries included) would have been greatly appreciated since she my kids are still starving after their 3 chicken nuggets and 7 french fries. - Texas Toast, A+ Hard fail this time. The location was very easy to get to right off the corner of Val Vista and Williamsfield, and the exterior is clean. The interior is very spacious, though I came in where the tables weren't as clean as they could have been, but the staff did did make their rounds to wipe down the tables. The chicken was amazing. No complaints there at all. But the fries were a little cold and the Texas toast looked like thick white bread with a verrrrrry light sheen of butter. It didn't look appealing though. I gave it to my son, who isn't picky with his Texas toast. The coleslaw was pretty good. The service was good; the staff was nice. Would I come back? Maybe, if I'm in the area. This place is the worst. Having seen a line there every time we drove past for years I figured that they had something going. The chicken strips were soggy with the breading falling off. They have one main ingredient... you would think they would have mastered that. Not the case. No BBQ sauce!?! WTF, seriously? It's like gas station food. I knew the order was going to take a while to be made but what I didn't expect was the excellent customer service from Hailee. Hailee offered to help make most of the 15 drinks that were ordered, even when I told her that I could do it myself. She went above and beyond with her great service and I was very grateful. Best when hot. Once it gets cold it's not as delicious. The tables can sometimes be clean and sometimes need to be cleaned. It depends on how many people there are and if it's busy there. I like the fries a lot because they're nice and crispy but I don't like when they are cold or have been cooked too far in advance of me ordering. Make sure to get the butter on both sides for the bread because that tastes the best. I also know that you can switch out the coleslaw for extra fries. I like to do that. I don't like the coleslaw very much as I don't like coleslaw in general. The chicken strips are very tasty especially when they're hot and just out of the fryer. Just like the fries the chicken isn't very good once they get cold. The food is hard to reheat if you don't finish it all in one go so you should probably order the minimum size that you think you should be able to eat in one sitting. I like the sweet tea but sometimes it is very variable in how sweet it is. I usually mix the sweet tea with the non-sweet tea, depending on how sweet the tea is. read more

On a fried chicken kick in recent weeks and decided to give this fast food chain a try. I was quite surprised by the quality. First time inside, I was a bit overwhelmed by the format. You can only order full "meals". OK, that takes a little getting used to. When growing up, soda was never considered part of a meal in our home, nor were french fries. I guess I was lucky... in hindsight. Anyway, I asked to sub out the fries and they allowed me to get cole slaw instead. Much healthier. So for about 10 bucks, I got 3 pieces of chicken, a slice of "toast" and a small container of cole slaw and a soda. When I saw my basket come out, I took one look and thought, "there's NO way this is going to feel like a satisfying meal." I was wrong. Even though the 3 pieces of chicken look (and were) small, when all was said and done, this little meal hit the spot and I was satisfied. I know inflation has been through the roof so, I'm not sure I'd return to pay $10 for this, but it was tasty and did the job. The "secret sauce" reminded me of thousand island minus pickles and + pepper. It was fine. They give you very little. Everything's measured these days to maximize profits, which just reminds me that, at the end of the day, I'm a number to the corporate masters.
