It's been a long time since I've visited a Raising Cane's location and left pleasantly surprised! I visited for a quick bite to eat when in the area and thought the inside had tons of seating, was clean, and had a fun atmosphere. This location has a front outdoor patio, inside space, and drive-thru. When I visited, I ordered the 3 Finger Combo which came with three tenders, a canes sauce, fries, texas toast, and 22 oz drink. I opted for the half lemonade, half unsweet tea and it hit the spot! It's nice that you can ask for refills on the lemonade before leaving. I thought everything tasted great, staff were so friendly, and I ended up going home with leftovers! read more

Raising Cane's Chicken, was my first time eating there. Their chicken fingers were the best I've ever had. The white tender meat lightly breaded.with this incredible and wonderful taste that lingers after each bite. We had French fires and they were the best since the 70/80/90's MAC D's French fries. Raising Cane's French fries had the best taste and texture with crinkle cut. They weren't very thick but perfectly cooked soft inside with crisp.outside. The Service, you walk up place your order give your name and we had our order within 5 to 7 minutes, We noticed service was very quick and food was very hot. I told my boyfriend that i'm never frying chicken again! I'm sorry no pics this time but rest assured that I will be going back soon and I will update with pics.. Inside was nice and clean.with good lighting. If you've never been, you won't be disappointed because that's all they do is fry chicken again. Can always count on Canes for their friendly and quick service with quality food. We come here from time to time when we're craving canes and they always make it piping hot and fresh. My go to is always the box combo with honey mustard. I'm unfortunately one those people who aren't a fan of the canes sauce BUT I will say their honey mustard is delish! I'm also not a fan of coleslaw but always enjoy a good side of it at canes. None of their food was accommodating for vegetarians, their prices were unreasonable especially since chicken is one of the most cheap meats, their floors were also dirty and greasy with decent music and their customer service was disappointing because when we asked if we could substitute the chicken for fries they said "sorry nope" with no hesitation and we asked one more time if they could try and they repeated it again. Raising Cane's has become pretty well known since expanding from it's humble beginnings so I am not going to go into too much detail on the basics... this review is for this location specifically. The Basics: They make chicken fingers and... that's about it! It's what they are known for and they do a solid job. One recommendation, you can get them "naked" if you don't want all the breading (this is usually my go-to option). This Location: We placed a catering order a few hours before stopping in to pick it up and they totally dropped the ball. They didn't have the order and we were left waiting for them to make 50 fingers... No remorse shown either, which futher drove frustration. One act, however, summed up the attitude of the staff... the (assumed) manager on duty, as she was wearing a different colored shirt than everyone else and seemed to be running the show, was departing at the end of her shift and stopped mid-exit, back pedaled to flip one of the cooks the middle finger, then proceeded out the front door. All this in full view of the rather busy dining room with numerous guests waiting for food. Lunch was pretty bad. The only thing on the menu was chicken fingers, average fries and average slaw. So that is what I had. It came with a dull piece of toasted bread. Their special sauce tastes very unappealing to me, so I asked for barbeque. No. Honey? No. I finally got some packets of ketchup. Why anyone would go here when Popeye's is nearby is a mystery. Love the energy of the guy in the drive-through! The line was long but moved fast. My first time here and likely my last. The food was hot and tasted great, but the flavor of everything is ok unless you dip it in the sauce. I'd rather enjoy my food when it does not lean so much on the sauce. read more

I thought I've done a review for this location before but I guess I did not. I've had Raising Cane's Chicken many many times before in San Diego and Vegas and was never ever disappointed. When I heard they opened up in Gurnee, I couldn't wait to take my friends here to eat. First, the service was horrible! I really don't know who did all the hiring process but they didn't do a good job. Second the place didn't look very clean, and the worse of all, the food is horrible!!! The chickens were so small, dry and no flavor. It is not how I remember their chickens. I was embarrassed with my friends with me raving about them only to disappoint their expectations and mines as well. Sorry but go to Popeyes Chicken instead if I were you. Good chicken tenders and moderately friendly staff. But the menu is very limited (like- they don't even have a chicken sandwich- they throw three tenders on a bun). The sauce selection is terrible- if you don't like the house sauce, you get honey mustard (which I enjoy) or ketchup. No traditional bbq which is a huge miss. I arrived precisely at 1:15 PM and notified the front cashier that my order is not on the pick up shelf. They told me that it should be coming up. I waited an additional 35 minutes and walked out at 1:50 PM. The gal putting orders together was quite rude. She did not give me my beverage that came with the Caniac Combo. I had already left before I realized. There was also no requested ketchup with my order either. It was a sad first visit to the Raising Cane's franchise. Perhaps it is just this location. The chicken was crispy yet with a moist interior as promised. The sauce was tasty--though I am more of a Ketchup guy. All in all, I would give it one more try just not at this location. read more

Ok, not great. I waited until the hype died down from the restaurant opening and decided to go through on a Sunday about 1:30. Only a few people ahead of me at the drive thru. I got the Box Combo. The chicken was HOT as in temperature burn the roof of my mouth off hot. I wasn't impressed with the coleslaw, toast- like why? And the fries were better than I thought mush crinkles would be. The cane sauce: I just don't understand the fascination. It tasted like bbq sauce with pickle juice mixed in. Not impressed. Easy ordering, pay, and the meal was ready when I got to the window. It seems like a good, hardworking crew. Be patient with them during the craziness of the grand opening week. We stopped in from out of town. I was disappointed to see that most of the menu was just chicken tenders. We stepped up to the counter and a friendly employee. Explain the menu and the process about how the food is always fresh and made to order. I ordered six tenders with a french fry. And also got a drink my wife and kids also ordered the tenders. I guess they have a sandwich too, but no one tried that. The staff gave us great service and welcomed us. Ordering was quick before we know it we were seated and awaiting the order. I had gotten an iced tea to drink. It was very good sweet tea. Our order was up and we were eating. Upon taking a bite out of this chicken tender i realized (wife and kids all agree) that it was the best chicken tender that i ever had! I mean wow. Crispy, the chicken was moist and tender. When the restaurant opened the drive through was always extremely long and the parking lot full. I read about all the hype, which was intriguing, to say the least. Now that the hype is over my grandson and I were able to stop in to give them a try. I ordered 3-piece chicken only to share with my grandson. When we received our order I noticed their "boss sauce" was missing. I went to the counter to ask for sauce and was told it's an additional charge! After a conversation with the cashier, he gave me sauce at no cost and I'm happy he did. I've read rave reviews about their sauce, but surely it's an acquired taste. To me it tasted like a mixture of creamy French dressing or Thousand Island mixed with Poopy Seed. Bizarre and not for me. The chicken on the other hand was good. I liked that the coating was light, unlike KFC whose coating is thick. and the chicken was juicy inside. If the chicken remains with the light batter and juicy inside I can see myself returning, but i will not be going out of my way. I would never purchase any sauce. Everytime I get home with the food, the chicken js soggy and the fries are soggy because it keeps the moisture in there. What the hell is up with the service here? Took me 30 minutes to get ONE order!! I could have went to walmart across the street and made it myself in half the time. If don't value your time and want to have a really bad time, then Canes is your place. I'm genuinely confused how the service is so bad when you make only 4 items!! And considering this location had a line 1/2 mile long it's opening weekend, I had to try for myself when I saw a short wait. Glad I didn't wait too long because it's not worth it. I got the main 4-piece combo. The fries are bland as hell and so is the coleslaw. Little to no taste at all. The chicken was ok, but like a more fresh version of Denny's chicken strips. Nothing special. The sauce is good, I'll give them that. But really, it's like Hidden Valley Ranch with Red Robin's fry seasoning mixed in. And the Texas Toast is pretty good- warm soft and buttered.
