This is now the third location of Canes my wife and I have visited. First was in Vegas, second in Methuen, and now this one in Saugus on Route 1. Still waiting on the first location to open in Maine, hopefully in the near future! The reason for the four stars is I think a couple of things make this the lowest ranked Canes we have visited off the three. By no means was it a bad experience, the other two were just better in certain ways that make them a five star and this one a four star. The tenders did seem to be a little bit smaller than we have had before. The flavor of the tenders were still fantastic and you could tell it was high quality chicken. The toast needed to be a bit more toasted. This was quite a busy spot considering it is on route 1 in Saugus which has a ton of traffic so I am sure they are rushing food a little bit at times. Maybe we just came during too much of a rush or an off day for a good meal but not the best quality Raising Cane's we have had. We opted to go through the drive thru and their speed was good with a small wait, also staff was friendly. Which speaking of staff the person taking orders spoke very quickly yet with plenty of manners and being friendly! No real ambiance/vibes to talk about as we did drive thru. It is very convenient location wise and we enjoyed our meals just a couple small improvements we know are possible with a Cane's visit would turn this into an even better meal! read more

I went with a massive group of people late at night and they handled it really well. The staff was pleasant and the restaurant was clean food was fast. However the food itself it pretty bad. I don't get the hype the menu is tiny so I would expect the chicken to be amazing but it was chewy and just tasted like unseasoned breading. read more

Finally gave Cane's a try while I was seeing friends and I'm impressed! The chicken and fries were delicious and fresh. Went today for lunch and there were only two cars in front of me and service was pretty good despite the full parking lot. I did the four finger meal deal. The chicken was very moist and the fry is tasty. It's not too heavy. Their sauce is good, but I would say it's comparable to most other places (ie Dave's hot chicken). The fries were cooked well and I thought the Cole slaw was yummy. I liked that it was chopped. Their Texas toast seemed to be more like a grilled hot dog bun so I only took a bite. Strike two for canes. First strike was the Framingham location, chicken breading fell apart like it was reheated from a week ago in the microwave. Today Saugus I get 8 fries and tiny tenders for $13 plus tax. Not worth it. It will be tough to go back and I loved canes before they exploded into a million locations. read more

The first time I tried Raising Cane's was living in Los Angeles 3-4 years ago. Before that, I had never heard of it whether or not there were locations in the Boston area where I was from. The insanely long lines at Cane's in the LA area made me skeptical to go to another one. "Are they really that popular?" I said to myself. Fast forward to 2025 and Cane's is popping up all over the place in Eastern MA- I couldn't believe it. It felt like the place followed me when I moved back East. The crowds in LA made me wary to go to another location (despite the fact that Massachusetts and Los Angeles are extremely different places in terms of population density, but I digress.) Yesterday I walked into the Saugus location- the first time stepping foot in one in MA and I was surprised. No long lines, very clean interior and restrooms. I always loved Cane's, but not being packed into the interior or the line outside like sardines was extremely pleasant (though that is no fault of Cane's and comes down to population density.) The food is just as it always was: hot, fresh, and crispy chicken. My fianceé made the comment that the chicken is like Chili's old formula chicken (no clue what that means but IYKYK I guess.) The sauce from Cane's beats Dave's by a mile if I'm being honest. The fries always reminded me of the Ore Ida crinkly fries or the ones from Kid Cuisine vaguely- but better quality. Not a fan of coleslaw by default, but the Caniac Combo, which is what I got on this occasion, comes with it if you're a fan. The crown jewel of a Cane's combo has to be the Texas toast though- I can't name another drive-thru chicken place off the top of my head that does Texas toast period or a place that does it as good. Living in Massachusetts I shouldn't be surprised by that but still. The staff were quick, attentive, and pleasant. It was very reassuring considering the current economy that we were serviced by a trainer and trainee on the register and that there were two more guys seemingly in the onboarding process as we ate. The economy can be terrible but you know if I ever needed a job on short notice- Cane's is probably one of the first places I'd look. All around great experience and with the lack of crowd anxiety from LA, I will be coming back! read more

We got our food and set at a table to relax, as this place is pretty casual and we took a little bit of time, from our trip and enjoyed some good chicken - and that it was! Restaurant appeared packed so they were obviously prioritized to putting product out to the restaurant first.. instead of putting the effort into the 2 lane drive-thru... 23 minutes waiting in line... People growing restless waiting in the line and beeping and cutting others off... so obviously at that point they were just rushing things... that's why the fries were so horribly greasy and soggy and over salted along with the chicken... greasy and soaked.. they confused my order with the car in front of me...I didn't receive sauce with the order at the window....so when I asked for the sauce the belligerent girl at the window had to check with the manager and they wouldn't give it to me until I paid extra! undoubtedly not worth the money and I won't be back again. read more

Fries were delightfully salty. Tenders were great, hot and juicy on the inside. Texas toast was crispy and delicious. The service was good but the kitchen was so loud it was hard to hear the cashier when ordering. Likely over staffed as they work through the new location. This place is all unseasoned chicken fingers and fries. It's edible but nothing special.

It's fine. Perfectly cromulent chicken sandwich that tastes better than its national rep as only being a vehicle for that sauce. Still, Dave's Hot Chicken or local chain Yas are better. Nice fries. The coleslaw and garlic bread aren't worth it. Also, on our trip they literally forgot to give us our sandwiches. We didn't notice because we had never been there and the garlic bread/coleslaw were placed in such a large container. The manager made it up to us, but poorly communicated the situation to the other employees. read more
