I have been ordering food from this restaurant for many years. Previously, I would have probably rated them four stars because of lack of consistency, but the last several times I have ordered from them, I have been wowed by the increased flavor and consistent quality. The Aloo Gobi and Chicken Tikka that I ordered yesterday were great. Many layers of flavor were present with very fresh vegetables. The naan was warm and pleasant. Out of all the Indian restaurants I've enjoyed (or not so much enjoyed) in the country, Raja is my absolute favorite! The sauces are creamy and delicious. Our favorite Indian restaurant in the area. The owner is related to the owner of Ambar India in Clifton, so the dishes are fairly similar. The chicken tikka masala is great. Not much more to say about that. They offer spice levels of 1-6, and honestly 6 isn't that super duper hot. If you want your food unbelievably hot, you need to tell that's what you want. Wait staff is friendly and attentive. Only complaint I have is that the backs on some of the booths are a bit loose. I recommend sitting at a table. read more

We went there for a family supper. We had chicken shahi korma, chicken tikka masala and lamb curry. They really "mailed it in" tonight. None of the dishes were made as well we have come to expect - and all were just meat and canned sauce - not actual prepared dishes. it seems they even substituted beef into the lamb dish. Tender and tasty lamb vindaloo, chicken curry, chicken tiki masala, aloo gobi, and saag paneer. An order of naan is one piece, but it's large. Since there are not many Indian Restaurants in the Mason area, Raja is probably the best option. That being said, the food quality is not too great. Some of the chicken didn't seem cooked right. The ambiance is ok, but the food is really horrible. People from India will definitely hate going there and eating that food. But as people from other countries are not aware about the actual taste of the Indian food, they might like it. Great food! They always deliver high quality and just the right spice level. We ordered takeout and they provided a LOT of basmati rice. You get to have leftovers :) The chicken vindaloo can be prepared dairy free and it's plenty tasteful. They also have naan and paratha dairy free. read more

We are Indian foods lovers and have been coming to this place for many years now; never been disappointed. Love it!

Okay, really, 3.5. But I only get whole stars. In short, I'm holding back for two reasons (and I'll get to all the good things next!) : 1. The chicken tikka, which was relatively dry and bland. Granted, I have found few instances of truly great chicken tikka, and the only dish my mom had to compare it to was the most incredible tikka I'd ever had after a year in India at a spot in Bangalore, well, eh, dry is dry. 2. Our server was nice and knowledgeable, but it wasn't exactly a great server. When he brought our bottle of white wine, he didn't have any of us taste the first pour, nor did he bring out anything to chill the bottle, so it sat there and sweat throughout the meal. He was not absent but nor was he particularly attentive. And he didn't rush us, but I also didn't really feel like he wanted to be there (I get it, it's a job ... but still!) Now for the good stuff. 1. Gram had never been to an Indian restaurant before and my mom rarely. Both were pleased. And beyond full. 2. It's tough to go wrong with fried bread, but boy, that batura was scrumptious. Mom was thrilled to be scarfing down something reminiscent of funnel cake. (Plain naan was also good though next time I might actually go the butter route, whoa! Roti was also decent but I bet the paratha is better. 3. Paneer. Sometimes I love it, sometimes I hate it. It can be rubbery, chewy, overly tangy, whatever. But here it was nothing but creamy and just the right amount of chewy -- something you could bite into without overdoing it. Delicious in the salty saag. 4. Eggplant. This baingan dish was a little creamier than I'm used to but tasted just as good. 5. Mild, when requested. Normally I thrive on the heat, but I had two ladies hoping to cool it down a tad and they got what they asked for. No sacrifice in taste from what I could tell. 6. Samosas. Yum. This is one of the better Indian restaurants in town. I usually only come for the lunch buffet as I work close by and that is a great value. The buffet offers salads, soups, desserts, naan and various yummy Indian dishes. I like Baba's curry better but this is still delicious. A small variety of beer, wine and alcohol. They also offer lassi's and a full menu if you're visiting for dinner. The staff is always polite and friendly and the restaurant always clean. read more

This is our favorite Indian place in Cincinnati (so far). The owners/servers remember you and treat you like family. The food is very good and their spiciness scale is right on. I usually get a 3 or 4, depending on my mood. Being vegetarian, I order the Nav Rattan Korma, which is a mix of veggies, raisins, and nuts in a cream red sauce. I usually get Kashmiri nan, which has raisins and nuts in it. This place is very good and I would recommend it to anyone :) read more

Just went here Saturday, although we eat here all of the time, and are never disappointed. We are vegetarian, and they have so many choices. My favorite Indian restaurant in town! Surprisingly good, but definitely go for their menu over the buffet. Buffet is very watered down. They also have to-go which is great for cravings only complaint is that they have burned their naan twice, but otherwise great taste. Went here on a lunch break with people from work. While i was happy they had samosas (yummy, too) on the lunch buffet, there was dark meat chicken in the chicken tikka masala. A definite no-no in my mind, yuck! Would have been great if they hadn't used dark meat, so I was pretty bummed. read more
