I went to Rakuzen thinking they only did AYCE sushi since that's what they advertise, but after looking at the menu I noticed they also have other deals. I tried the three regular roll combo with soup for $14, which wasn't a bad deal at all. The sushi itself was okay. Nothing amazing, but not bad either. Overall, I'd say it was pretty average.

Great location near queens mall center. Went for the all you can eat, option. The staff gave great recommendations and advice about choosing fewer items then ordering more later especially for a group. Inside the restaurant was spacious and there is a bathroom. Note you do have to pay if you have left over food as to avoid food waste.

I'm surprised this place has a low Yelp rating. I was here for lunch today. (+) It was pretty empty, only 2 tables were occupied. (+) We went a la carte because we only had about 30 minutes to eat. The lunch menu was great, we got 3 maki rolls for $13.75, kalbi beef bento for $12.75, and sashimi for $2 per piece. (+) The sashimi was pretty fresh. (-) The interior was nice but I would appreciate some music? It was too quiet.

I started the New Year with AYCE Buffet in Elmhurst. I ordered the bento box and sashimi Platter for my parents for Christmas, and they loved it. Therefore, I might as well give it a try. When I arrived it was cold and not crowded. The staff asked if I wanted a la carte or AYCE. Obviously, I chose AYCE. I was seated and given four sheets of items to check off on to start. There were some fair stipulations, such as the 90-minute time limit, fee for leftovers, and from the sashimi appetizer section; they only allowed 1 item from that list to order per person. The food was good, and sashimi is worth getting. The only drawback is that I don't have control of the quantity of the items ordered. As a result, I got full quickly, which may have been a blessing because they regulate and honor that 90-minute time frame. It's also a smart business move on their part, so it gets people coming back.

Spicy tuna, spicy salmon, spicy white tuna, volcano roll, California and their delicious Lychee Martini!!

Walked in from a freezing cold afternoon and our waiter William was amazing, very attentive, and kind. The food was quick, delicious, adorable presentation and he recommended all the ways we can save yet still enjoy our one year anniversary/ birthday dinner :D definitely try the Lychee martini!! Will be coming back for they're all you can eat as well! Thank you again!!

This place is awful. I'm not one to leave one star reviews but my boyfriend and I had unpleasant dinner here at Rakuzen. Food is mediocre, rice is unseasoned, fish is not fresh and taste very fishy. Do not fall for the AYCE value, it's absolutely not worth it. You're better off getting food at White Castle next door.

To start off, for the price point the place is not bad. They have multiple options on their all you can eat menu and soft drinks are refilled if requested. They do charge for unfinished food during the All you can eat but overall the quality of fish to the price is not bad. However, there are some days where it is a miss. The quality is bad, the fish smells and doesn't seem fresh. On some instances my friends and I really enjoyed the food we got and on others we agreed not to come back. Overall, not a bad spot.

This spot is ok. The staff seems a little rude, the atmosphere can be better. The food is decent... the sushi does give me like a high end cuisine feeling when I'm eating but it's decent. What probably makes it ok is the that they have an all you can eat menu that's pretty long. Live, laugh, and love. -Sha

I absolutely love this place. They have an all you can eat option where you get a huge variety of dishes. Their rock shrimp is absolutely delicious along with their kani and seaweed salad. Not only do the have different hand rolls and sushi, they also have teriyaki and dumplings, etc. They also serve you a complimentary hot tea which goes perfect with the food. Their food is always fresh and their service is extremely quick. As soon as you finish your dish, they are making room on the table for your next dish. Side note: make sure you consume everything you order since they will charge you if you are wasteful.

    Is indoor dining available?

Yes indoor dining is available, and the seating area is roomy and big.

    Is there parking nearby?

You can park at the target mall

    Are there handrolls for ayce?

Yes they offer hand-rolls for you all you can eat.

Is there a sashimi a la cartel option for the ayce only saw a sashimi appetizer option?

They limit you to one sashimi appetizer and there are only a few pieces. They charge for leftover rice so it's hard to eat a lot of sushi. I usually go to Akino because they have unlimited sashimi for a couple more dollars.

It's a family owned business. We ordered an appetizer, a few special rolls, and a miso cod fish entree. The Shichimi salmon was maybe the best part of the meal. I think I got the Mango Hawaii, Ocean roll, and something else. The rolls tasted pretty similar. I saw it recommended but it's basically salmon with some sweet chili sauce on top. We didn't expect that.. it's an odd combo. Tasted cheap.. I forced L to try a lil bite of the miso cod and he said it tasted a lil old. Its ok.. I've def had better even. I mean I don't expect Nobu/other exp restaurant quality fish ... it is what is.. it was one of our cheaper meals we've had at a restaurant but we felt it was a lil overpriced compared to the quality we're used to. There was a family eating dinner at a table near us and they seemed to enjoy their food.. Maybe I should've just ordered regular rolls since it's more of a local spot.

Great katsu and anything on the sushi menu was divine. Love the toro, yellowtail, and sea urchin. Can't go wrong with either the nigiri or sashimi choices. A wonderful alcohol selection as well with special items i've never seen before but very refreshing were the green tea beer and the yuzu beer. A gem in forest hills and a must try. I actually appreciate that they are reservation only - it does make for more quality conversation with your party. We ordered the Agedashi tofu and Magritte duck as appetizers. Both were delicious and had really great sauces that paired well with the dish. For entrees we ordered their black cod, pork hirekatsu, sashimi plate, and their snow crab avocado roll. The black cod was absolutely delicious, so tender, cooked to perfection, jam packed with flavor but not tough or mushy. The hirekatsu was another hit - four large pieces, fried to perfection. The pork itself was still moist and juicy. The sashimi?? So fresh and cleaned perfectly! The quality is definitely on par with what I get in the city so the price is absolutely reasonable to me. Lastly their snow crab and avocado roll - also really good! I love how sweet the snow crab was, there also wasn't too much rice on the roll which was appreciated. Overall, we had a wonderful time dining at Katsuno. While the prices may seem a bit high and portions of certain items may not be the largest, the flavor really is authentic and the quality of ingredients used are good too. We will be back!

The strawberry part was more like a jam, so it was a little sweet for me, but overall a decent drink. I would have preferred crushed strawberries, though. Later, I came back for dinner at the tail end of the day. I was leaning towards the beef curry bowl because I like bolder flavors, but the karaage chicken is a hit here, so I ordered that in bowl form. First off, all the contents were very fresh! The chicken pieces were crisp and tasty. The burdock on the side had a smoky umami that was quite nice - it was the best of the 3 sides - and the spicy mayo was on point. Still, I think I would have gone with the curry given my taste buds, but overall the karaage bowl is a solid choice. Lastly, while the container looks small in circumference, it is taller than other takeout containers, so the portions are really about the same as any other restaurant. The nori fries were subtle in flavor but the nori still made its presence known. All in all it was a great experience. The owners are very nice, also. I will go back for the curry and yakiniku, too.
