Don't get me wrong, I love to cook; i could YELP myself lol but I love that I can try venues without having to find someone to go with, reservations, finding something to wear, parking, etc so with that said I will be trying new venues. I came in to order a few rolls. I initially wanted to just put in an order and have them split each roll in half to put in two containers. For example, if one roll has eight pieces I wanted them to put four pieces in each container. The lady was very nice, but she said they could not do that. So I ordered the rolls to stay and then asked for two containers and split them up myself. While I was waiting, they gave me a complementary piece of fish tempura. It was very tasty. I ordered the Queen's roll and the Myrtle Ave roll to split. I ordered this for someone who does not like Law fish. I personally prefer raw fish. Then I got a California roll and a tuna roll. I thought the Myrtle Avenue roll was kind of bland. The mango on it didn't taste sweet enough. It really didn't have much going on. I thought the queen's role was very good. California rolls are California rolls. lol The tuna roll was a weird color. Maybe it was fatty tuna? I'm not sure. Usually when I order a Tuna roll the tuna is a nice bright, dark color. This tuna roll was very dull and grayish. I tried it and it tasted OK. But I just felt like it was sketchy so I wound up throwing it away. I think I would definitely come back and dine in. I have to leave another review for Mr. Sushi based on my last dining experience. My family and I went here for Valentine's Day around 7:30 PM. They were packed! The hostess told us it would be a 30 minute wait. We were going to just place a take out order, but another server (who I always see there) was able to turn a two top into a four top for us. They were also slammed with pick-up orders. These two ladies were nonstop walking back and forth, and politely dealt with the frustrated pick-up drivers. Their customer service was exceptional. The food is always good without saying. I got my usually Queens Roll, Philadelphia Roll, and Pork Goyza. My husband got the Honey Roll, Philly Roll, Spicy Salmon Roll, and Spicy Tuna Roll. I really love this place. It was a nice vibe as the service was very good. Everyone was kind and very attentive. The food was very tasty. We started off with the spring rolls. Super crispy and fresh. The sauce matched perfectly. It came with two rolls that had very nice presentation. For sushi, I had the spicy crab roll and the avocado, cucumber, asparagus roll. They were so good as well. The portion sizes felt big because each piece was big. I got full pretty quickly. My sister got the spicy white tuna roll and the shrimp tempura rolls. Her shrimp tempura rolls were actually massive. I ordered pickup from Mr. Sushi not too long ago, and the experience was so much better than expected! I placed an online order, and asked to have the food ready later in the day. The restaurant called me shortly thereafter to let me know that they had already made it, and asked if I wanted to have the order remade closer to when I was planning on picking it up. Being given that option was outstanding service!! They really didn't have to do that. When I showed up at the spot, I was promptly greeted and informed of how long it would take to pick up my order. The staff were kind enough to throw in an extra roll on the house. The food was all packaged so neatly (bento boxes, rolls, rice, and miso). The food itself was insanely good value for the money. Sushi places in other cities I've visited would give you half as much food for what you're paying. I absolutely love that rice and miso is included in the bento box, and feel like this is just the gold standard when it comes to to-go sushi. The food was all incredible - the chicken katsu in particular was fire and paired so so well with the teriyaki sauce.
