I really love Raley's. Their rewards system is the best in my opinion. But this store in particular is my favorite. I do a lot of e-cart shopping because I have a 4 year old and one on the way, which can make grocery shopping a huge chore. Ana at this stores e-cart team always does a super great job. She communicates if something in my order isn't in stock, and never messes up my order! She's got great customer service and is a big reason why I continue to use their service! I live within staggering distance of this fine store, and its great. A little pricey, but the staff are so kind. I guess im at the age, where I feel special whenever a beautiful checker might actually great me with enthusiasm, and genuine goodwill, even if im hungover and have brushed my teeth, and its 3pm. Lots of help here, and great senses of humor with all staff. I wish them the best of luck, and pardon me for having poor hygiene when im hungover, which is like barely every other day. read more

So you may ask yourself; Why review a grocery store? They're all alike, right? What sets it apart? Well the answer to that is that while most modern mega-marts are pretty much institutions that try to make uniform consistency in your buying experience, every so often you find one that has the good fortune to really stand out. To me, this is one of those places for one particular reason. Like most other Raley's, the Keystone location has no shortage of selection for most everything you need for everyday life. Food, drinks, sundries and so on. You get what you expect from any other store, the mix of name-brand and store-brand merchandise, an alright selection of organic stuff as well, a bakery and deli serving up fresh and ready-made stuff, and the produce sections which, to be honest, I think Raley's tend to usually edge out other chain stores in the quality of their produce. Price-wise, this chain tends to be just slightly higher than others, but nothing too noticable, and the quality is certainly quite good for what you pay. So all in all, a pretty nice, if standard, store. "But wait," you say. "So then why does this one stand out?" Well, because this particular Raley's gets some bonus points in my book for one particular reason, and that is in their alcohol selection. I've noticed Raley's stores in general tend to keep a good stock of wine, spirits, and craft and micro brews on the shelves. But here, they have turned themselves into one of the go-to places for beer and spirits made locally in our region. Drinks from Reno, Sparks, Tahoe and elsewhere have shown up here. Great Basin, Brasserie Saint James, Brewer's Cabinet, Seven Troughs, and so on, have all made appearances. Unlike typical beer and wine stores, since this place is a grocery store, I think it provides a better opportunity for exposure of locally made products to more casual consumers. And many times I have found a local brew or spirit on their shelves that was not available at places like Total Wine or Ben's Liquor, some of the other spots for all things booze. On the flipside, however, I have noticed that at times this place won't consistently have some local and regional drinks in-stock all the time, and you may only see them intermitently when compared to the more constant presence at other liquor stores. The location is alright, being close to the University neighborhoods, and so is a regular stop for many college students. Furthermore, they will usually have special deals running for those with valid UNR ID cards. The whole building is clean and nicely kept, but parking and getting in and out of the lot can be rather tricky at times, located as it is right at an especially busy intersection. Once you get in, though, you are certainly going have a good shopping experience. Especially if you are on the hunt for some brews. read more

I visit this store at LEAST five times per week mainly because it's close and convenient. But the store is beautiful, it's *always* well stocked and the staff are so incredibly nice. EXAMPLE: Today I lost a hundred dollar bill (half of my weekly rent) somewhere. More likely at Big Lots in South Reno than here, but I did stop at this Raley's so I called to leave my name and number on the off-chance that it flew out of my bag in the parking lot or inside the store, and someone found it - and in the interest of scoring some good karma decided to turn it in. An hour later I was at Raley's again in person, and I talked to Merryanne (gaw I hope I spelled that right!) and after telling her my sob story she said that several employees had searched the store INCLUDING THE TRASH after I called about the missing bill. SERIOUSLY? I mean, going through a grocery store's trash can not possibly be part of *anyone's* job description, yet they did it. No, the bill has not turned up, but I'm absolutely touched by the kindness of the employees at both Raley's AND BigLots on McCarren. Without the lost money I'll probably be living in my car this time next week but at least my faith in most of humanity has been rejuvenated today. And that is something! Thank you Raley's UPDATE: While I can't afford to do *all* of my grocery shopping at Raley's, it remains (at least this location) basically my favorite place to shop. As I mentioned in my YelpStory above, last summer, the staff at Raley's are TOP FREAKING NOTCH. They are so nice and they make the store feel welcoming. BUT WAIT! THERE'S MORE! I just returned from picking up something at Raley's (about 4 pm Tuesday) and the lines at the checkout stands were longer than usual. Within MINUTES of noticing this, two more checkout lanes were immediately opened. I know. Yes, please go ahead and read that again if you need to. NOT ONLY has Raley's NOT succumbed to the perpetually nauseating SELF-CHECKOUT bullsh*t, BUT WHEN THEY ARE BUSY, THEY HAVE MORE PEOPLE WORKING! Like actual, LIVE living breathing human beings who smile and will never tell a customer that there's an "unexpected item" in the bagging area, or that "you need to look up your own goddamned produce code for artichokes, bit*h). Thank you RALEY'S for staying in the twentieth century, because in this case, that's a good thing. read more

Did you know that you can order your groceries online and then when get to store they bring them out to your car? You totally can and it's just as amazing as it sounds. I highly recommend selecting your store before you start doing or you'll wind up selecting items that aren't available. You also have the option to accept substitutes if your particular brand isn't available. This happened with my OJ and my ice cream and do you know what they did? They CALLED me to see if I would like something else. Seriously, amazing customer service. I parked in the ecart spot when I arrived and texted the number on the sign and just a moment later Tammy arrived with my groceries. She was super nice and just an overall pleasure to deal with. I've always been a fan of Raley's selection - they carry quality products and that justifies paying a little more than other stores. Combine that quality with their great organic and natural food section AND now the convenience of ecart and they just became my favourite store. He always has a super upbeat attitude and great suggestions for things for me, it makes me look forward to coming in to figure out what's on my menu for the day. This Raley's has been my go to supermarket for years. Smaller than some markets around town but it has most of what I need. Really $5 Monday (they will text you what's avail for $5 every Monday morning) Alright the grab and go sushi could be better (Raley's on Mayberry has GREAT sushi) Lordly the money I've spent in the wine section (discounts on 6+ bottles) Everyone in the store is uber helpful. Yes I'll be back next Monday if not sooner. Sales I'm a sucker for a good one; join their rewards program & they will send coupons and freebees just for you! The grab and go salads are tasty & @ times are on the $5 Mondays. The Take & Bake Pizza are surprisingly enjoyable. Decent meat selection. Produce is fresh. Plants and seasonal items are usually out front. All-in-all a good local market. read more

Most of the employees (checkers, baggers, and stockers) are very friendly, and this store does have a good selection of products (a natural section, a decent 'gourmet' section, okay wine/beer selection) for its size. But still, I've come to loathe this place for some of its employees and the prices. Bad apples: one of the checkers (a white-haired woman in her 50s/60s) is consistently crabby and borderline insulting. Today she had an issue redeeming my Raley's custom coupons (the kind Raley's mails you when you have a 'club card'). She asked if the coupons were associated with a different card (they were not). After her audible frustration to her bagger ("I am NOT doing these anymore!") she manually deducted the coupons. I thanked her but she had to again assert that the problem was my fault ("I ONLY have this problem when the coupon is for a different account"). I would have gone to management to complain if my kid weren't with me. Prices: ridiculously high on most things relative to Winco (for example) and even Whole Foods (for the natural stuff; as if it couldn't get higher - it can, try Raley's!). The bulk section was the source of my ire today; plain-old raw walnuts in a package were around 50 cents a pound (in the baking section), but in bulk they were 66 cents a pound. Shouldn't bulk be cheaper for the same product? It's little stuff like this all over the store that make me avoid making trips here. It's really only my "emergency store" due to its proximity to my house. I suspect that's the main reason most people shop here; it's close to lots of off-campus UNR students and retirees. read more

This is my neighborhood grocery store and I absolutely love it! A lot of their employees have been there for years (which says some good things about the company!) and are so friendly! Most of them know my name and always greet me with a smile.... What can I say great customer service goes a long way!!! On to their products.... Their fruit and veggies always seem to be super fresh. On one occasion I had a bad cantelope but they took it back and refunded my money, no questions asked. It is very rare that they are out of something that I want, which is a big plus! All together this store is my favorite.....even though you may be able to find cheaper product at other stores, they can not compare to the quality of product and staff at Raleys! read more

Raleys on Keystone and 7th. Needed to pick up some pop by order of the king. We do not always keep it in the house. Well being in that neighborhood I stopped in. I find this store somewhat narrow of isle. Since I was there I figured I should pick up a few things I know we need. As I adding things to my cart the thought that kept going through my head was, man this is expensive. Yet I continue on since I was there. But I get to the pop section the one thing I had to buy. A limited supply or selection and very little in the diet variety. As I am looking at prices I figure I will just get coke but could not do it. I refuse to pay 6:49 for a 12 pack and just became incensed; although quietly. Well I went two streets down to I believe save mart and got a 20 pack for five fifty nine and everything else for a bout fifty cents to a dollar less. Why would anyone shop at raleys when a much cheaper store is just two streets away? read more

The reason I stopped going to Subway is because there was always more bread than meat and condiment. Today I went to the Raley's Deli on Keystone and guess what, more bread than filling. By the time I got near the crust there was nothing there but bread. I have been there in the past and was very satisfied with the sandwiches. Not today. read more

I've been in here a few times, and although I've never had any issues with the staff or cleanliness of the store, I must admit that I've been completely blown away by the high prices. Everything seems to be high dollar, including the items that are supposedly on sale. I did try a freshly prepared deli sub one day, but paid a premium for it. For mainstream snacks and drinks, you'll be tons better off at CVS right across the street. Seriously. A short walk or drive down Keystone to the Save Mart might not be a bad idea, either, as I've found them to be lots cheaper, with more sales going on. read more

I am having an affair with Raley's. I am just not sure which Raley's I am cheating on. Is it this one near my work or the one on Mayberry near my house? I like them both. The staff at this Raley's really makes the shopping experience enjoyable. Aaron in the deli is friendly and helpful. He always make my sandwiches how I like them even though I have a thousand requests. He ever gives helpful suggestions. I love the blue cheese potato salad and pesto tortellini salad. Doc in the morning is nice. He is quick and polite which is what I need in the morning. I don't do my big shopping here but get specialty items and last minute things. They always have what I need. This is a great little store. Its small and its an older store so its not as shiny as the Robb Drive store, but its right off the freeway and easy to get to. Prices are on the high side (I generally find Raley's to be second only to Scollari's in terms of high prices for the big chains here in Reno) but they have great produce and excellent breads. Their pugilese loaf is second to none and the olive loaf is tasty as well. They also have a nicely stocked beer section--they carry Labatt's (yay!)--something most stores here do not have. All in all its quite a nice store. read more

I don't buy everything here as their prices are a little higher but I do come here every time i am in the area (which is very often). 1) The Employees, same faces I have been seeing for years. They are always helpful and the lines are never long. 2) Listing caloric information on their baked/prepared foods. 3) Dutch Crust Bread - get there earlier in the day, they always run out 3) Two different types of Tiramasu (favorite is the non-cake one). 4) California Chicken Salad 5) Sandwiches - Around 5-6 dollars for a large gourmet sandwich. I don't normally write reviews for grocery stores but seeing that were just passing through as tourist, I thought maybe I'd be helping someone out at some point. We've been staying downtown for about 3 days now and decided to stop the madness. We're spending about $80/day on food! Went to Raleys to stock the kitchenette at the hotel. The store is very clean after hanging out around the downtown for the past few days. The staff are very friendly to the point where I almost felt at home. I can't really comment on price as I just spend $240 freaking dollars on restaurant food! I can say we just spent $50 and should be able to eat for the rest of our trip (2 days) without having to step foot into a restaurant. They had a huge selection of items as any city grocer would have. If you're a tourist just passing through, this would probably be considered higher end shopping experience in this area. read more

I have nothing against young people or the younger generation but I am here to tell you, most now a days are taught to talk a great game, can B.S. with the best of them but when it comes to good quality customer service, they lack a whole bunch of what us older folks were taught when we were their age. Those two are the only ole time faces left and they BOTH still give GREAT service. Look around, all young ones, today lines were so long they go down the produce isle, curl around the bulk isle, one checker using his little button but then it was just to be replaced, not to call for more checkers. Many times before you ask for your bread to be put in a bag by itself, checker doesn't listen - then when you point that out, she chews out the nice bagger kid when he wasn't there when I said it and she did NOT relay it to him. Most - NOT ALL but most don't care, if your not watching it is in with cans and milk, get home and it is shaped with a work of art. They put your meat packages in with other groceries, don't they know even board of health will tell you, salmonella and other food borne bacteria can be transmitted from meat packages, hell produce has been contaminated as well. So some items should be packaged together or separate. Vegetables go bad or on the verge of rotten if not used immediately. Use to get nice sweet pineapples, now they are horrible. Last batch of banana's got down to the last bite and felt something strange in my mouth, pulled out a caterpillar type greenish worm, of course it was dead but none the same, it went in my mouth. Got a package of cookies a couple weeks back (Keebler) and I swear someone opened that pull seal and resealed it, they were STALE and looked opened. Attitudes, wow through the past few years you will get them. Young guys and gals, no older employees think the Raley's family may not like aged individuals. You see some at various times standing around flipping their hair, biting their nails. Been going in there since 1986 and sure you get to the front and asked did you find everything but other than cordial robotic greetings, your needs are not always met. read more

This review is specifically for one of the managers at this raleys. Her name is MaryAnn and she is repeatedly rude and appears constantly annoyed. This is not a one time experience, every single time I am there over multiple years. I avoid her line if she is checking out especially if I have my children with me. She is never helpful and is rude to my children who often want to help unload or load a few groceries or ask to hold their gum after she has scanned it. I feel bad for the employees she supervises. My husband has also had the same experiences with her when he has been there. read more

After an extremely terrible experience with Walgreens Pharmacy, I made the switch to Raley's, and I'm soooo happy I did. Despite the fact that Raley's does not have a drive through or a 24/7 pharmacy, their customer service and professionalism make up for it. Every member of their pharmacy staff I have encountered thus far has been incredibly helpful, friendly, and competent. I also appreciate that a pharmacist takes time to discuss potentially new medications with consumers, as well as answer any questions. Most importantly, their staff strives to preserve a patient's privacy, which is refreshing. It annoys me when pharmacy staff shout out the names of medications being filled or other private demographic information (e.g., name, address, phone number, etc.), and Raley's has been great about that. Also, compared to other pharmacies I have been to in the area, mainly Walgreens, the typical wait for standing in line is significantly less at Raley's, which one wouldn't think would be the case given they have less people working behind the counter. Raley's pharmacy is efficient, and I am super busy, so I have no problem adjusting my schedule to coincide with their pharmacy hours when I know that they won't be wasting my time. read more

The store itself is an average grocery store, nothing special. However, this review is directed towards the woman in the deli, Linda. She was the lady who took care of me, and she was absolutely wonderful! She was so sweet and funny and just overall a nice person to talk to. I don't think I've ever had such a good experience with a customer service employee, and I'll definitely be returning, in hopes to see Linda again. Hire more nice people like her! read more

This is typically the Raleys I shop at but after an experience trying to get balloons blown up I don't think I will be able to return. I brought my own balloons because I needed a special kind for a birthday party. I was practically yelled at by the staff, and accused of trying to steal the balloons when I made it very clear from the beginning that I wanted to pay for the balloons to be blown up and was willing to find a fair price. Becky in particular was extremely unprofessional and she needs to work on her customer service skills. Sorry to say that this experience has just left too much of a bad taste in my mouth. read more

I must admit that every other Raley's I've been to in Reno is way nicer than this one. But this one is the one closest to home and therefore the one I frequent the most. I was gonna give this one four stars because it's old-looking and not as big as the other ones. However, the people who work here are the best. From the meat deli, to the guys sorting out the groceries and the cashiers, it's all great customer service. I've felt like a stranger at the other locations and they feel snooty as well. This was my neighborhood grocery store for many years. And then I moved away. But I love to visit when I'm in the area. The store has a clean and well organized layout, with a great selection of natural and bulk foods, and the friendliest checkers of any markets in town. Shopping at the right times can help with the price points for produce and quality meats. Sometimes it's the customer service that makes all the difference. One of my most favorite checkers moved on to bigger and better things. And another of my fave checkers, infamously known as Doc, has been counting his days to retirement for years. He's funny and helpful, and seems to know the store like the palm of his hand. Even if his line is busier than others, he's worth the wait! read more
