This was my favorite type of any "fast food" since I was a toddler and possibly still is! The fries have and still are incredible (seasoned fries way better than Jack in the Box's curly fries)! Going through the drive through you'll notice their menu will state them as being World Famous Seasoned Fries. They have 2 drive through lanes which is pretty interesting. During my late night trip I ordered 2 apple pies, and a Bacon Roadhouse large combo with Sweet Tea. My girlfriend ordered the Bacon Cheddar fries but thought the cheese overwhelms the fries too much if you let it sit for too long. The Bacon Roadhouse was extremely tasty if you enjoy crispy onions, bacon, cheese, and beef. If you want to eat there, you can order at a walk up window. There is no dining inside however there are tables outside with seats and umbrellas. Great experience overall. read more

Man oh man! So late one night, I was hella craving a burger. But I didn't want a McDonald's burger, and all the other burger joints were far and closed. I was browsing through yelp and saw this gem. I totally wasn't aware that this location was still in existence! Growing up, my grandpa LOVED this burgers and we grew to love them too, so I was pretty excited to go back to memory lane and have that Rally burger. Haven't been to a Rally's in forever. I live in the north county/inland area and the only one I remember visiting was the location in Poway back in the 90s. Anyway, i work part-time in Spring Valley and when lunch time came around, I was beyond starving. I searched "fast food" on the yelp app, and once I saw Rally's, my eyes lit up and simultaneously, my stomach started to growl. I knew right then that's where I was going. One of the reasons i chose this place was convenience. The location was nearby, easily accessible with 2 drive-thru windows to place your order. Also, i got tired of eating the same old burgers from Mcdonalds, Jack in the Box, Carls Jr, etc. I figured, Why not eat at a place that's reminiscent of my childhood upbringing? They have a large variety of menu items to choose from. I opted to go with the Cheese Champ burger, with bacon added. $1.00 for 2 strips was worth it only because the bacon pieces were huge and crispy. The combo came with delicious seasoned fries (no reg fries served there which was fine by me) and a medium soft drink which is equivalent to a Large at other fast food restaurants. The service was great, nothing to complain about. Cashier at the window was nice and friendly. All in all, it took less than 5 mins from beginning to end. Needless to say, i devoured the meal in its entirety with no ill feelings of shame or guilt afterwards. Will come back next time I'm in the area without a doubt! read more

Big Buford should be called the Bad Bufford it was so small, the chili fires are shedded beef without any Flickr as well as the cheese really disappointing for 4 dollars. The chocolate shake is kinda good. And the lettuce of the burger was shredded and tasted like school lettuce. The burger costed 5 but in n out had better burger the fries were horrible. read more

It seems like this is the only Rally's left in San Diego. I haven't been to a Rally's in almost 10 years, I didn't think they existed in San Diego County. I don't understand how they charge $1 a wing but sell double hamburgers for $1. The math doesn't make sense. They are open late until 3am on Saturday nights, in fact they are the only place you can buy wings from after a long night out so I came here. I was very dissatisfied with the quality of their wings. I guess I'm spoiled with Hooter's wings and KFC's wings. I felt like my taste buds were robbed of what could have been a pleasant experience. To make up for the let down the next day I went to KFC to enjoy some quality wings. Their seasoned fries were the business and I will come back for those. I ordered a large fry to share and I was disappointed with how fast they disappeared! It took me a while to figure out why they were gone so fast and it dawned on me, I'm used to Five Guys french fries where a size small can feed up to FOUR people. Hmmm.... I must take that into consideration next time I buy their seasoned fries and order 2 or 3 large fries. I feel so sad that I'm use to portion sizes that are offered by other amazing restaurants (Hash House, cough, cough) that when I go somewhere with "normal' portion sizes I feel like my heart broke, sigh. read more

When can you come to expect out of a Fast food joint. This place isn't an amazing 5 star restaurant, but when you want to grab a late night snack - stop on by Rally's. I have been coming to this particular location for the past couple of years and they have pretty decent burgers. I came last night and I ordered the following: -Big Buford combo: I love Rally's Hamburgers! They are made to order and always fresh and lots of Yummyness on the inside. -Rallys Fries: This is probably the #1 reason I come here is for their seasoned fries! Hands down Rally's fries beat all other fast food joints fries. -Chicken wings: We tried these last night and the first wing was pretty decent. We got an order of the Garlic Parmesan wings (order of 10). After sitting on the kitchen table for a few minutes, grease was oozing out of the box (eww) then I grabbed a napkin and wrapped it around an wing and it just oozed out! Gross! I will definitely pass on these greasy wings next time. -Desert (Apple turnovers): this is probably one of the last places that sells apple lies / apple turnovers. I wish Jack n the box still sold theirs! The only good thing is the cinnamon - which sometimes they put a little too much of. So basically, most of the food is greasy as hell -- but if you had a late night of drinking this will definitely help "coat your stomach" full of it. Just go for the french fries!! I believe that Spring Valley is lucky to even have a Rally's/Checker's location. They continuously try to add new items to their menu, but the fries are all that matters. These 4 stars are earned based on their fries. They don't have amazing customer service, fastest drive-thru...it's all about the damn fries! it is also cool that they have 2 drive-thru lanes. One only works if you have a passenger, haha. Only in the hood! love it! They do take card btw! You don't expect that from a small establishment. But this place has been here for years! I'm such a fan of Rally's! I never even knew this place existed until I saw Rally's and Checker's on Undercover Boss on television. So I was so excited to try this place after driving by a couple times. I ordered the Bacon Western? I can't particularly remember the name, but let me tell you. They do not skimp on the bacon here. I thought was going to have a bacon overdose!! The burger was on toasted white bread, two patties with cheese, fried onions, barbecue sauce, and mounds of bacon. I thought it was a bit pricey, until I saw the quality of the burger. I also ordered loaded fries that had cheese and of course, more bacon. But I didn't like these at all. They were soooo incredibly salty, the cheese was salty, and the salty bacon didn't help either. Great place for a quick drive-thru meal. Fries are excellent. Crunchy on the outside, hot and soft inside. Real seasoned fries not regular fries with red season salt. This place is really just a drive-thru. Only a few benches outside and the neighborhood isn't that great. Came here one night and they left an item off my order and I didn't realize it until I got home. I called there service hotline to complain. This location is for locals for sure. I am amazed at the quality of the food and service for such a minor chain in an "ahem" older neighborhood. They keep the location clean inside and out. 3/5 stars for one main reason: Whenever I happen to buy some food here, they never fail to mess up the order for my drink. Even though I repeated it about 4 times before I pulled up to the window... Then when I finally get to the window, they have the audacity to get all rude and snotty with me like I did something wrong. Like, hellooo! I'm not gonna have you charge me for something I didn't order. But other than that little problem, Rally's is a great place to go if you're really craving for a burger, some gooood seasoned fries, and a large milkshake (which, by the way, really is a LARGE. Their small is about the same size as a plastic water bottle). I think the Hole Lotta's ice cream pretty good too, but I personally wouldn't buy it on a normal basis. Came here for the first time with no expectations. I ordered a bacon and cheese champ medium combo with a cherry coke. The drive thru speaker box was apparently broken so an employee was taking the orders which didn't give me much time to really look over the menu. After placing my order and pulling around I regretting not taking the time to look at the menu better because a desert I saw on the pictures looked so tempting. My order was already waiting for me when I got to the pick up window which was nice. I paid $7.87 which I feel is a little steep for what I got. The burger was small with a thin beef patty and there was no bacon!! I didn't open the buger till after I had left and didn't have time to go back. I checked the receipt and made sure it said bacon cheese champ. The fries on the other hand, where delicious. They were crispy but gooey on the inside didn't taste like greese. read more

I have been a loyal customer to this rally's since I moved to the area (6 months ago) and I have never had a bad experience ever at this rally's, I swear to god the cashier was so illiterate. The cashier also had a lot of attitude. I understand that it's late and she's just trying to do her job but honestly please i am a paying customer as well as a neighbor in the community. When I ordered I started with "there's going to 2 separate orders" and when we got to the window I had to literally tell her our order all over again and that it was separate. Said it with attitude and basically threw the change back at us. I love coming to this rally's when i'm over here in the valley. It's a nice, convenient location which is easy to come to. I had a conversation with one of the employees, Wilson Alvarez. He told me he transitioned from his dads taco shop to this rally's location very easily. In my opinion he's one of the top employees. Respectful, kind and always has a smile on his face. Rally's used to be my favorite place as a kid so after years of not eating there due to location I came back to San Diego to visit family. Went to this Rally's and ordered the 4 for 3 special and specifically told the person no tomatoes, onion, or mayo on the burger. Got onion and tomato on the burger. The reason for the two stars is because the burger was cold. Fries were hot though. It's like the burger was taken out the fridge. When I crave something fast, cheap, and close to home, I come here. In fact, I probably come way too often without guilt. They have so many cheap specials going on that you can't go wrong and they're usually cheaper than Jack in the Box or McDonald's believe it or not. Service with a smile every time. I came in the past with multiple coupons with BOGO offers and they accepted them without hesitation. I wish I had more coupons for the BOGO stackers. They offer Twix flavored, a cheesecake flavored one, and Oreo. I forgot the other flavor but we usually stick to the Oreo stackers and for 1.99 each and a BOGO coupon that's happiness. This evening I asked for two fry lover burgers, one plain and the other regular. However, the one they marked "plain" was the one with everything on it. Oh well, there was a 50/50 chance and they marked the wrong one but it doesn't prevent me from coming back. Food came out fast and hot. Workers were very nice. Free refills on soda. Can't find anything negative when I eat here whether drive thru or eating outside. Good fast food. I love the company but I did not love them this time. I drove several miles in the middle of the night for a special shake, but they were out. My hubby and i ended up getting the 3 for 4 deal (two of them). It comes with a sandwich, fries, a drink and apple pie. The guy handed us the bag in complete silence, not even a good night. We drove off to find we had 4 sets of fries. We went back and he said they had no apple pies. This place is disgusting, there is an hepatitis A outbreak here in San Diego and it's probably coming from this place. I couldn't help but notice there's a guy up to his wrist digging in his nose in the middle of the restaurant and know one says a word must be a cultural thing because one of the girls handed him a bag of food without his hand being washed and he gave it to the customer at the west drive through window.
