I hate fast food with a passion.... but we ended up eating here one night after helping some friends move, and I must say I was quite impressed! There is no health/nutritional value involved in anything but the water, but my God what a fattening food! I ordered the American Double Melt, which exceeded all my expectations of fast food burgers and then some. I don't know what they season their fries with, but it came straight from heaven. This place is different than other fast-food joints, given the fact that they chose to put some flava on their fries. The lady at the counter was very polite which is great because every other fast-food joint I've been to has been providing garbage service and attitudes. If you watch undercover boss... well that's what prompted me to visit this place. In the end I really liked it. I ordered: Fish sandwich Double Rally's Burger Meal The fish sandwich was crisp, had lettuce unlike the famous mcdonalds version and was pretty tasty. The double rally's burger meal had those awesome seasoned fries, a juicy burger and a huge drink that I couldn't fit in my cup holder. The burger was good, but I wouldn't say the best. The only problem I had with it was that the onions were rubbery and hard to bite through. The flavor was enjoyable though to say the least. Fries... Great! If you're near the area then try this place out. It's not too common around here in SD. If you're not in the area I wouldn't suggest that you drive all the way to this spot. I just got back from rally's and I was really disappointed with the burgers because they are small,the fries are good but they put them in a soda cup. Then I got tacos and the meat don't even taste like taco meat it tasted like hamburger meat, the tacos has a sweet taste to them and I don't think there supposed to be sweet. One night there was a hooker begging for some change at the payphone, one night there's a group of homeless guys begging for food, one night there's nobody, and last night there was a hundred people or so with a bunch of lowriders having a meet. Walking out of the nearby sears essentials, friend and I decided to grab a burger. We didn't have a car or wait in the crowded lines at JITB, so we ended up in Rally's. What struck me first though, particularly because we used the walk up window over the more emphasized drive through, was the smell wreaking out of the actual kitchen and restaurant. A mixure of rotten egg, cheese, and any other obscure smell that I just cant describe. Perhaps they let go of the quality inside, because the customers primarily are outside and don't see the mess? Eww. When I got my meal, My bacon cheeseburger was average (nothing exciting at all.. ) and my milkshake was watery, and actually retained that foul smell of the kitchen, so I couldn't even finish it. There was this young African American girl outside taking order with a big umbrella that did not give this child no KIND OF SHADE!! I've gone here since the early 2000's, there has indeed been a dip in quality, however its evident the chain is still trying hard to provide polite and speedy service. I appreciate the nostalgia of it, however some drive through times are horrible, and the portions seem to be decreasing, even though the quality of the more expensive items are stellar. read more

When my family and I lived in Spring Valley this was one of my favorite places to eat at. Every burger that I tried was delicious, especially those with bacon. Friday 8/11/17 I will never go to rally's in spring valley again at night. The night crew spends so much of their time playing around and having too many conversations that they messed my order up not once, but twice. Then the lead girl want to tell me I can't sub my bun for the bun without sesame seeds. The first time my burger came without the sesame seeds, but since they messed up my order and had to remake it some wanna be lead told me they can't do that. I said I will pay extra. She said "I can't my boss said it's too expensive." I'm like whatever! Bye Felicia! I never heard of such a thing. I said fine whatever, but since your establishment messed up on my order you should make an exception. She replies "I can't!" Such horrible customer service. YES! Fries are legendary, the menu items are just compliments to the fries. Open late (1-2am) and has two drive-thru lanes. Perfect for after the beach, take time to sit there and eat. Always tastes better when you do that. read more

A lot of my coworkers hyped this place up for a long time and I finally got to see why. Got the 2 burgers for $5 loaded fries and a milkshake for $10 and some change. I honestly like this place better than in-n-out. Burgers are large with a nice fluffy bun. Fries are heavenly. If I didn't have self control I would have bought 2 more boxes of loaded fries when my girlfriend wasn't looking. I only go to Rally's for their French fries but this time we just wanted something to cool us down so we ordered just some ice cream while another one of our friends ordered a burger combination. We didn't ask him how good the burger was but it seemed like he enjoyed it by how fast he was digging into it. He finished it within 10 minutes or less of getting it. Ice cream was good. Lines are always long here no matter what time or day you come! Drive thru was very patient with us because one of my friends was uncontrollably laughing and couldn't even get her order across to the drive thru operator. It was a tight race between Rally's & Jack in the Box but Rally's came away with the win. Their seasoned fries are just too good, I had to get a large each time I went & left no scraps. The cheese champ burger was delicious & was my go-to item to compliment the fries. I did try their new spicy chicken bites but they were rubbery & tasted like they were sitting around a while, that was the only negative about the place.
