We have shopped at Ralphs for several years, but have had two very recent experiences that indicate that something may have changed. About 10 days ago my wife purchased a large vegetable platter from this store. Two days later, we opened the container to find that some of the veggies had started to rot. Some compartments looked okay, but others were clearly way past their prime, and had turned soft and mushy. The container did not have a 'sell-by' date sticker, so I assumed that an older tray had somehow slipped through the cracks, and I returned the tray with no problems. This week, my wife purchased another vegetable tray. This one had a sell-by sticker of 10/20/2019. Today is 10/18/2019. I opened the package to find that while most of the veggies were okay, the cucumbers were soft and 'slimy,' indicating that they are starting to rot. Again, I don't want to eat anything from a platter where something is starting to rot. I will return the second tray tomorrow. Having to return bad produce to the market is very inconvenient. Two bad vegetable trays within 10 days is too much. I still like Ralphs, but from now on, I will buy produce from another market. read more

The day shift is great. Always nice and helpful. They need to teach the night employees what real customer service is about. I still stand by one star for the night shift. A fabulous bakery at Ralph's Burbank. I just picked up a birthday cake for my 5 year old grandson and got so many compliments on this cake. Very moist very creamy very delicious and the frosting design was perfect. The price was half of what fancy bakeries would have charged. What more do you want. read more

This is our primary grocery store for a number of reasons. Not necessarily in order of priority: 1 - location. Super close to our house which is great for last minute hauls. 2 - inventory. They have lots in stock, and have great fresh produce, including organic. 3 - service. This ones probably the biggest pro about this store. The staff is friendly, familiar and available. 4 - pricing. Food prices vary but we are able to stay within our moderate budget while shopping here, especially if we shop sales and seasonal. read more

Eh, not really. 1. Parking (as others have mentioned) is a nightmare. The parking lot is super cramped, there's a lot of weird parking and maneuvering as people visit Starbucks and the other shops. There's almost always drama. I don't need no stinkin' drama. 2. The organic produce selection is okay. There are a few reliable staples (broccoli, beets) that are as good as Whole Foods and much cheaper. There usually are organic berries, although the quality is iffy. There are NO frozen organic vegetables to be found. 3. A good 90% of the store is stocked with crap. I know, this is how grocery stores are, but it bums me out to have to maneuver through crowds in the candy, lunch meat, cookies, crackers, frozen pizza, soda, juice, white bread, white pasta, etc. to try to find a few healthy staples. For this reason, I'd rather go to Whole Foods - for some "whole food". 4. Prices on said "whole foods" aren't that great. 5. The employees! Jiminy Christmas. I know, this isn't the UN, and the top employees in the world probably aren't gunning to work here, but EVERY time I have a question or need help (i.e., at the floral department), they are hapless and apathetic. The checkers basically ignore you in lieu of conversing with each other. The store manager basically is the only bright spot. Good luck, young man. WOULD YOU LIKE A BREAST TUMOR WITH YOUR CUPCAKE? Beautiful store. Absolutely gorgeous. Almost up there with Whole Foods except... OK, so once a month I crave really terrible sweets. (Ladies, you know what I'm talking about.) I was eyeing a red velvet cupcake at Ralph's which looked pretty damn good at that moment, but took a second to read the ingredients... what I found was scary poisonous chemicals listed. In particular, methylparaben and propylparaben -- in the cupcake! For those who don't know, the parabens are now recognized as xenoestrogens (foreign estrogens) and endocrine disruptors. The Environmental Working Group lists it as high on the list of items they're working to get removed from our body products. That's right: they want parabens out of BODY PRODUCTS. They think they're dangerous even if we get them on our skin. Multiple exposure (from a variety of sources at once) is also a concern as it builds up in the system. So what is Ralph's doing putting endocrine disruptors (parabens) in cupcakes when top environmental groups say we shouldn't even be putting them on our skin -- even for a few minutes? Ladies, xenoestrogens are one of the things we're warned about as breast cancer risks. If you do the math, unfortunately you gotta stay away from Ralph's bakery until they remove the xenoestrogens they're using in their food in the form of methyl and propylparaben. There are tons of resources confirming the hazard of parabens, but who knew you'd find them at Ralph's in your cupcakes. UPDATE: parabens have been found in breast tumors. On April 5th, I had a grocery delivery from Ralph's Market in Camarillo. The lady who delivered the groceries was Yvonne. She was absolutely amazing!! She is an asset to your company and because of her, I will never order deliveries from Whole Foods/Amazon or any other store. She was sweet and very kind. The groceries were excellent and not just thrown in a bag. They were placed properly and in order. She was on time (noon to 1:00 p.m.). She wore a mask, had gloves, and clean clothes. I was so happy to have such a pleasant experience. Thank you so much for having such an amazing lady shop and handle our food. She even told me that she had fun doing her job! read more

The store itself is fine, but I have never seen the mask policy enforced. It's one thing to be an anti-masker, but a business that has signage stating that masks are required and never says anything to anyone without a mask seems pointless. Whether that's employees not wanting to deal with rude customers or management saying not to do anything, it's off-putting to see someone sneezing and then wiping their nose with their hand and going to checkout with a mask under their chin. read more

I have been a Ralphs fan since moving to California. Their produce, meats, poultry, deli items, and baked goods are always fresh and of good quality. They have good deals and the store is well kept. I do feel like the prices on some items are a little more compared to Vons, but overall we do like to shop here. The produce is very fresh and items are pretty well stocked. The employees are friendly and the store seems to be well organized. But once I had to use the bathroom and every single toilet was disgustingly brownish yellow, like no one ever cleaned the toilet. I generally like grocery stores, but this one is laughably bad. The selection and variety is good, don't get me wrong. But their service is terrible--never enough check stands open. The other day we were in a hurry so self-checked over 50 items because it looked like a 20 minute, 5 customer long wait otherwise. What a mistake! Their self check system is the worst and slowest I've seen, triggering attendant calls with most items and not wanting you to put bags in the cart, which means you can't really use it easily because of limited bagging space. Self check took us over 20 minutes. Multiple produce items had no codes and didn't come up with options manually (such as a pre-portioned bag of lemons). There was, of course, no attendant, so we just had to wait. What a joke! At the end, of course, the stand wouldn't let us pay with chip or swipe of a card because "this terminal has been acting up" so they had to cancel our transaction and move it to another stand so I could pay. No apologies for all the many inconveniences. Stay far, far away. read more

I went to this store July 12 (Subday night) and I was really just grossed out. The store is filthy. First I went to the bathroom..... No toilet paper in 2 out of 3 stalls, also very dirty. The stall that did have toilet paper just had a roll sitting on top of the container, not properly installed, paper everywhere on the floor... Then I went to the bakery to buy a roll and when I opened the bread case and stuck my head in, I was swarmed by a million little flies. I almost gagged. Then I bought a ready made sushi from the sushi counter. It cost me $8 for a shrimp roll that was cold, the rice was hard and old and it tasted completely bland!!!! I am SO dissapointed and disgusted by the state of this store. So so bad. Is the manager on vacation????? Get with it Ralphs!! read more

Very disappointing. I have been a Ralphs shopper for over 30 years. I recently moved to Camarillo. I was appalled. I smelled the fish market from the bread aisle. The deli counter was dirty, garbadge on the floor, filthy slicing machines. I can't imagine what the parts of the market that I can't see look like. read more

This grocery store is local so gets my business mainly through convenience. The store is nice and well stocked with a good deli. The staff are always courteous and helpful. The problem is that the prices are so high. They have some decent deals but other than that the prices are to expensive to do a full grocery shopping here. There are many places that have a good assortment of products at much less the cost. The other draw back is that many of their card readers have issues. Some readers haven't worked properly in 2-3 months and they still haven't been replaced. I always let the staff know each time I shop at Ralph's. For dinner last week I tried the salad bar. By the time I got there at 7pm most of the stuff was gone, but I scrambled enough to make a pretty good salad. It cost $6.99 per pound. I went to the produce section to weigh my salad and it was a little under a pound. I grabbed a steak and was good to go. I paid and as I walked out I looked at my receipt when it hit me...I was charged $11.99 for the salad. My thought- this better be one damn good salad. It was, but I was perplexed why I was charged for almost 2 pounds? And also, why did I go to the salad bar when I just read it was in the top 10 food categories to avoid. Maybe I weighed it wrong (but I doubt that) or maybe it was their mistake; either way, unless I win the lottery, I don't think I'll be taking any salad bar trips anytime soon. read more

Superior meat and produce. I get prime Beef, lemon grass, ginger and Thai chili's here. Decent beer,wine and spirits selection as well. Staff and mgmt, always helpful, (although getting help on the phone is sometimes difficult.) Steaks cut to order, fish skinned, seasoned and cooked for free. The manager, Ted, is solid gold! Always friendly and helpful, got his eye on the lines and opening registers when necessary, I never wait long. I live equidistant to Vons, Ralphs and Albertsons and Ralphs is, hands down, my go to Market. read more

Ok, so I don't live in Camarillo, don't work in Camarillo. Why the hell would I even go to this Ralph's and feel the need to review it? Well it's simple. It's all about the orange juice. I LOVE orange juice, but my stomach turns to a pit of fire when I drink it. But there is this Tropicana low acid OJ, which I can't seem to find in most supermarkets (I always look for it.) Well, this Ralph's carries it, and that makes this place A-OK in my book. Otherwise this Ralph's seems to have their stuff together. Nice parking lot, clean and well stocked aisles, and they have ample staff on-hand to get you out and back on your way. read more

This Ralph's is nicer than most but the parking lot can be a bit challenging. There produce is beautiful with a better than normal organic selection. They also have a great deli selection. There fresh flower selection is also nice. They always have some beautiful produce on sale on there weekly ad as well as some kind of meat so that's when I stock up. read more

I ordered a graduation cake a week ahead to pick up at 11:00am.. My guests had to change their schedule and were coming earlier. I called the bakery department Thursday morning to see if I could get it at 9:30. They said they were booked up and we had to keep the 11:00 time but said they could try to get it at 10:30. The deli is great! The woman that does the sushi always stands there and chats and jokes around with me while our sandwiches are being made, meats sliced, etc. Meat department is wonderful and helpful too! They've always got great cuts! The only complaint I have is that the store does not carry enough gluten free options. Frozen foods, breads, etc...Vons down the street has a huge variety of gluten free items. And while I would much rather get them from Ralphs, it's a must for a few specific gluten free items. read more

I just read some negative reviews of the Ralph's in Camarillo. Not only is it my favorite market in this area but they also have a great pharmacy. I cook daily. Some people think I'm a very good cook. They have good meat and good butchers. There is no supermarket around that has good fish but at least they occasionally have locally sourced fresh rock cod and white sea bass. The produce department is excellent. The Ralph's people are friendly and efficient .The Tuxedo cake is my favorite off the shelf cake.. Most of those negative reviews are sour grapes from people that don't cook. read more

This is the best store in town! The employees are all so friendly, they rise above and beyond what is expected of them. They will walk you straight to any item you're having trouble finding, and carry your groceries to your car. The produce and meat departments are super fresh with great prices. The meat department will even fry your fish for you while you shop! The deli's custom sandwiches can't be beat, and the salad bar is fresh! I like that I can get Homeboy chips and Boarshead lunch meat here. Also, they have a nice selection of organic choices in every category. They have a great wine selection as well. I'm always disappointed when I visit their main crosstown rival, and so I no longer do, as I would rather drive a little further to get to Ralphs! read more

I am done with the Ralph's store. They have rude lady filling the shelves early in the morning. You can't get by her cart and if you move it an inch to reach to get item pass her cart, she pretends to ram her cart in her leg. I wish I would have taken a picture of the old lady, but the store must know who she is. Even if I stop to pickup something quick on my way home from work, the shelves are empty or disorganized. Price tags not on shelf. It is shame. This store is 2 blocks away from my home. Hope this store gets closed soon Vons isn't that close, but they get my business now. I placed an order for a small 1/8 sheet red velvet cake on a Wednesday for my son's birthday which was on that coming Sunday and they said it was enough notice to have it made. I also mentioned that I had a picture that I wanted to scan onto the cake. I come in to bring the picture for the cake which was a photo of Batman and they couldn't use it for copyright reasons. So my son just picked a Batman design they had in their book. I get a call on that Sunday morning saying that there was a problem with red velvet cake so they had to improvise and use cupcakes for the cake and added the frosting. They didn't charge me because of their mistake but why did this issue come up the morning of the pickup? The lady that took the order was nice but I still don't understand why the last minute screw up??
