As this location is nearby for me, I like to come in the morning to grab a few items before my day usually begins. The bakery manager or whoever she is is not the friendliest even when offering a good morning (this was maybe two weeks ago). I made sure that was the first and last time I greet however other times she just looks like she has a stick far up her a**. And of course even today she was, let's say it together, not the friendliest, shocking! :SMH: I will only give my positive review for the manager which I believe his name is Ray (if that is not his name, I sincerely apologize). He is friendly, engaging with customers, but overall you can tell he is a good manager, not only to guests but to his associates. Overall the store seems to always re-stock appropriately and if items are gone they will make it a point that it's sold out with a noted Ralph's sticker, sounds weird but I like that approach. It saves time for both the customer not having to ask an associate but also the associate doesn't have to be bothered (because the repetitive questions I bet would be irritating lol). read more

Want to start this by saying my cashier Matthew was very sweet, helpful and a professional, that man needs a raise. Had an issue with checkout on something I've done many times before. When Matthew was unable to complete it in the system he called over a supervisor who I thought was coming to help but just kind of punched a few keys and then walked away and began talking with another coworker. I stepped aside so the people behind me didn't have to wait thinking I was waiting for someone to help me like I had asked the cashier. When Pat the night manager was called over when I asked for more help, he just kept repeating "that's the policy!" (Which I looked up after, yes the policy has changed but I was unaware and no one clarified). He then said you can call corporate and gave me a number, and I called and it wasn't corporate. I came back and asked for the corporate number and he said "you can Google it" he googled it for me the entire time very obviously not wanting to help me. He even tried ignoring me when I came back. He mentioned it being the policy again and I said it's not about the policy anymore it's how I'm being treated and he became IRATE saying I was the snippy one I got an attitude, I kept asking the same question to different people expecting to get what I wanted. I just wanted clarification on why something I did many times before no longer worked. He was so horrible I left and began crying on the way to my car. I've been going to this Ralphs for 30+ years and I am just beyond shocked and confused how they can treat someone this way. He's honestly the meanest person I've ever dealt with I thought he was going to call the cops on me. This store closed at 1 am on the day of my visit. When I arrived, the employee at the door told me the store was closed. I told him it was 12:48 and the store is open until 1 am. He told me to hurry up because he needed to close the store. Within seconds of entering the store, an announcement was made that the store was closing and customers should proceed to checkout. As I was gathering my 7 items, I was approached twice and told to proceed to checkout because the store was closed. When I reminded them that I still had time, they told me to hurry up. Rude and obnoxious behavior. When I left, I had to wait for the door to be unlocked. No thank you or good night, just a dirty look. I stopped by this Ralph this morning to get some sodas. I came in the early morning so I found parking easily close to the front of the entrance. When I walked inside, it was pretty quiet and since it was early, the deli area and meat area wasn't open yet. I saw that they closed some self checkout station probably to help limit theft. I found the soda aisle easily and got the drinks I wanted. I then walked to the produce area to get some lime for my wife. They had the self checkout closer to the produce area open so I went there to pay. It didn't pick up my cell number so I can use my digital coupon so I had to manually scan the barcode from my phone. read more

This Ralph's sucks! I went in at 11pm and grabbed a few things and went to check out. I wanted a human cashier to check out with. I don't want to struggle with self checkout. I was told that there are no cashiers after 11pm, only option of self checkout. PERIOD! Even though the store is open to 1am. Maybe they save money on a cashier salary, but they lost a customer that has been going there for 50 years. read more

I was there earlier this week and decided to get some fried chicken in the Deli. Alexander forced himself to help me and didn't seem happy at all. I asked if he liked his job and his answer to me was "what you want me to smile" I said I don't want you to do anything but please don't handle my food with carelessness and disrespect. Tall aging employee with "man bun" seemed bothered I asked if I could take a look. His voice and tone told me he hated his job. Told him "my bad, I don't need to buy anything here". I ordered some groceries for pick up at this location. The app tells you that you can modify your order as long as they're not working on your order yet. Within a few minutes of ordering, I couldn't make modifications anymore which I didn't mind since I had everything I needed. This was about 7 hours prior to my pick up time. The pick up location is in their "back" portion of Ralph's, but just note that the back entrance/exit is blocked at night. I had to actually park in the front to ask about my pick up and they told me to park in the back and they'll bring out the order. First, when we were loading the groceries, I noticed that there were roaches underneath a few bags. Only noticed because I was moving some items to fix them in the trunk. This is BEYOND GROSS. When I got home, which is not too far from this Ralph's, the perishables were HOT. It's fine that they start working on your order as soon as they get it, but they need to store the items properly. ALL my perishables were ruined. Not even a hint of cold. I had to wait the next day to reach out to customer service to let them know if the issue but this Ralph's need to re-train their employees on storing food properly. read more

I was going there to get my cash on my ebt I needed to get some medicine for myself. Only self service working the manager there to help supposedly I had to do a purchase and cash back. I bought a Kroger coke spent 1.49 on my ebt snap then did not go to cash back. I got another coke to purchase on snap and asked the supervisor to help he did and also he said he could do the return. Instead of using the snap I used my ebt cash I am using for my medicine. I then went back and the person Victor I tried to return the cash for the coke and rejected Everytime 5 times and then tells me to go home I am disabled and I need my 1.49 I spent in cash for my medicine. He did not care at all I give this a -1 star I hope the store manager reads this I highly do not recommend this place at all this is very disappointing at this Ralphs Store. read more

They've got all that you need from a grocery store and they generally have decent sales that somewhat offset those higher grocery store prices. Everything in this store is very tightly packed, so I do not suggest coming when they are busy as the isles are very slim and sometimes there are other stands that take up more space. Also, despite the recent stories that self checkout is a failed experiment and people don't like it, this location has double down by removing almost every manned checkout station and replaced them with more self checkouts. read more

Bakery. I ordered a birthday cake for hubby. It was perfect. Everyone was surprised by the quality and the price could not be beat. The only hitch was upon picking it up there was a customer yelling about how the baker sliced his bread. He was making a scene and the team didn't seem to know how to handle an upset customer. ZERO STARS for service. If you were to read my reviews, you would know that I normally leave 5-star reviews and praise the places I've been. THIS time, I have to warn y'all about a company that has hired a young girl with absolutely no customer service skills whatsoever: Ralphs on San Fernando in Burbank, CA (aka Kroger). The first time I encountered her, she placed two, one-gallon bottles of water on top of a loaf of bread inside my shopping bag. I went back into the store to let her know that she probably shouldn't do that sort of thing, and she said in a sassy tone, "Have a nice day." She refused to even listen let alone apologize. After her second, "Have a nice day" I went to a manager and let them know what had happened. She said that she would speak to the girl, but clearly, their little 'talk' had no effect. This time (today), I was attempting to show her a price that I saw on a sign. It wasn't until she flat out refused to let me show her and began speaking to me rudely, that I realized it was the same girl(!) During the brief conversation, she actually said this to me: "Are you throwing a fit?" On my way out, she said in her signature patronizing tone, "Have a nice day." THAT did it. I turned around to find the manager. I passed by on my way towards the office and she SAID IT AGAIN in the same way. I told her it would be best if she closed her lips and just didn't say anything at all. I wrote to corporate, telling the the whole story, but I doubt they'll do anything about it, and continue filling their empty positions with the worst sort of people. One would think they knew better after being in business since 1883. I am sorry to say, that, after shopping at my Ralphs for over 12 years, I will be avoiding this store and will choose to spend my money at any of the other neighborhood stores where I won't be belittled by some chicky-poo who is incapable of holding a civil conversation with customers, and where the management is ineffective. read more

This store needs A LOT of help. It's horrible. Produce is always low and there's always tons of holes or rotten fruits / veggies... very poor condition. Maybe the produce workers are lazy? Not sure I went to the meat department waited for someone to come help me for 10 mins while I was there I noticed flies on the chicken and steak... changed my mind.... Always suspicious characters right outside just a very sketchy store. There is never enough people up front so the lines are always long and they happen to have self service closed... if you're going to have 1 cashier up front at least open self checkout for those in a rush. Thank you, Ralphs, for waiving the $7 pickup fee for pickup orders over the summer and into the fall! I had been ordering them since they did this and it was so convenient and covid-safe! Each week I would just add groceries to the order and come and pick them up. When my order is near being ready I will sometimes get a text notifying me of some possible substitutions and requesting their approval. When my order is ready I get a text then park in their back (north-east side) and call the # on the sign. Everyone that brought out my groceries has been super nice. There is one lady in particular who has always been cheery and super sweet. I think she's got blondish hair and glasses, but my memory is foggy. See, they stopped waiving the fee right before Thanksgiving so I switched to Walmart pick up. Walmart has a lot of stuff I want, but not everything. So since my BF still goes inside grocery stories he will make the trek for me to get what I need. :) I just wish that it could be safer to buy groceries. Pretty much every pick up order has been perfect too. If a mistake has been made they are always super nice and accommodating. I trust them to pick out my produce too and it's been pretty much fine. Hopefully once the holidays are over with they'll either waive the fee again (I'm dreaming, I know) or they will just make a minimum order requirement. I would be totally willing to pay over $100 each time just to pick up my order. I was getting about that anyway. Well, I may be just being cheap, but I am on a penny pincher so it is what is is. If Walmart was not an option I would probably just pay the fee but try to order a lot at once so I don't pay it more than a couple of times a month. :) read more

I've been coming to this Ralphs location before it was a Ralphs. I remember coming here when it was a Hues. When I was a kid coming here with my Grandma I do remember ppl being more friendly. I have been here every year since I was a little kid till now. I have experienced no friendly interactions with anyone here. I've noticed that every employee doesn't talk to their customers. I've never been in a line here and noticed the cashier smile or chit chat with customers. The store has a huge parking lot in the front and the back. I'm not sure why they don't do some construction and expand the store. I went through the self checkout and instead of telling me good morning, hello, how are you or any eye contact it's non existent. The woman who watches the self checkout looked on her screen to see if I bought a bag and I did infant but still why not smile and talk to the customer. I come here to have a small memory of my Grandma when I come here and shop but other than that. This location is terrible and if I were you reading this; go to another location. read more

Huge parking lot... small store... And pretty under stocked for the start of a weekend... I've only been here a hand full of times, but recently passed through on my way home. The layout of this store is challenging if not down right confusing... they definitely have limits on how much they can carry as it is a smaller Ralph's than others if thy do actually have more items not on the self in back they don't restock frequently. When we walked in it was surprising to see all the beer, wine & spirits on the first isle... but maybe that's what sells most here... The bakery was to the right of the entrance and the section is quite small and condensed as is the produce and cold food we had to walk to the other side of the store to find some of what we needed which isn't a big deal just a huge change from finding frozen and/or cold refrigerated items in more accessible locations or in the middle of the store. Self checkout was pretty efficient and overall we were able to find 60% of what we needed... the rest out of stock or not offered or oddly placed... We didn't have too much interaction with employees, but none really offered to assist or engaged which I felt a little strange... especially because a woman next behind us was asked if she needed help... maybe should just looked like she needed more than us... I'm sure they would've assisted us if we had asked. Would stop in again.. but don't recommend for large grocery trips. read more

Craving some deli meat for a sandwich later. This was the only Ralph's in the area who's deli was still open on a Sunday. The staff member behind the deli counter was surprised when I told her that. She said the deli at this location was always open. She was nice and sliced the meat the way I like it...deli thin. Thinnest you can get. Something about deli thin that just makes a sandwich to me taste so much better. LOL...my Mother was with me and she didn't think it was thin enough. Anyways, we were in self check out and we're have a little trouble and the staff member working that area was such a sweetheart. She was so kind to my Mother even with her having to come to us two times, because my mom keep pressing the wrong thing. Very patient and great customer service. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! I usually go to the Ralph's in Sunland since I live near there, but I decided to stop by this one since it's close to my gym.What a mistake. There was a burrito plater that was about to expire (literally tomorrow) amongst the others that were 4-5 days from expiring. I asked the front end manager if they'd discount it for me. The guy said I had to talk to Joe, paged Customer Service then walked away. Okay, F for service so far, and things wouldn't improve. Some guy with a beard came out from hiding in the sushi deli and looked really annoyed while washing his hands and glaring at me. I asked if he was Joe and sarcastically he responded, "Yeah what do you need?" I showed him the burritos that were a day from expiring and asked if he could mark them down for me. He looked at the tag, then (and I'm not embellishing) looked me up and down and said, "Nah, not at this time," and proceeded to walk away from me. I asked loudly when the correct time would be since it was already noon. "Later," was his response then he ran into the back. If this is how you think managers should behave (assuming this person is a manager) or how customers should be treated, you're a dying corporation. Customers aren't going to tolerate disrespectful employees like this "Joe" anymore and will gladly take business elsewhere. Any grocery store with a 2.5 star rating should really take a serious look at why customers hate your location. Pathetic. read more

I only go to this Ralph's for basic items or to get some recycling done. This store is under stocked compared to the other Burbank locations and is definitely outdated. The deli, bakery and floral departments are half the size of the other Burbank Ralph's stores, and they removed the salad bar.This location has a pharmacy, lotto machine, ATM,coinstar and key copy machine , but no Starbucks . The front parking lot has a a little satellite recycling center but there is still plenty of spaces. read more

As a everyday shopper here at Ralph's I was extremely disappointed with Dylan's childish behavior. A nice lady worker told me I can use the restroom after the worker came out(Dylan) and as he came out he shut the door and locked it and said sorry it's closed. I'm a human being and this was extremely childish all I needed to do is pee... like what the hell. After I saw him going to other co workers and laughing about the situation. My first time here and I came because I had a goodRX coupon to use at the pharmacy. The outside looked like the store itself should be bigger, but I found it pretty cramped because they had so many displays in the aisles. These are the covid days and trust me I don't want to have to squish by anyone. The bright spots were the help I got from Mr. Delgado the pharmacy tech and Danielle, the clerk who recently transferred from 16 years at my local store. Against my better judgement I stopped here to pick up fried chicken and the service and selection were once again NON-EXISTENT. 2 other people were waiting and I thought they were waiting for food but they'd been here a while and despite employees everywhere, no one was helping. One employee kept putting more stuff out complaining he's the only one working and he has to put more stuff out. I blame the management for not training their employees to take care of waiting customers. Two other employees kept telling the one employee that customers were waiting--all while there were 3 other employees behind the counter just talking. The awful service didn't surprise me--it's been my experience here so I avoid shopping here unless I'm desperate. I'm more surprised that I thought it might be different this trip. PATRICK O'CONNOR IS AN ABSOLUTE ASSHOLE. If I could give zero stars, I would because the treatment that we were given tonight was extremely disrespectful. I shop at this Ross every day and have never been missed treated so poorly. The store does not close until 1 AM and I arrived at 12:50 AM to grab one item. The doors were locked so I knocked on the window to ask if somebody can answer a question for me. The man inside the store looked, laughs, and ignored me for 10 minutes. Finally once it hits 1 AM he comes to the door and tells me that he will call the cops on me if I continue to knock on the door and the store is closed so I politely asked him if we came 10 minutes before the stores close. How is that fair that we were unable to come grab our item before it hit 1 AM. His response was that they were ready to close the store and there was nothing they can do to help us. If you are going to advertise that the store is open until a certain time you should hold your Word or else it is a complete lie just because employees are ready to go home and they are done for the night. It does not mean that they have the right to miss, treat their customers who come within the time of the store being opened. I will gladly be taking my business elsewhere. It is always limited on items and the lines tend to be longer than other Ralphs. But yesterday was my final straw. I went into the store and bought fresh cod and brought it home to cook. As I was washing the fish I saw a parasite/worm looking thing stuck on it. I reached for it and grabbed it and it started to move around on my hand! Needless to say i shocked and disgusted. I'm surprised by Darren's review. I was there recently and the place was a chaotic mess. They didn't enforce the 6 foot thing, and had no one monitoring the number of people coming in. It was honestly a free for all. A number of people were pushing each other and I heard a few curse words thrown at people as others pushed them. That said, I did get out of there quickly and they were well stocked on food. This location seems to cater to a bunch of pushy people. An Armenian lady parked next to me in a Lexus SUV, opened her door about to hit mine so I honked at the bitch. Had no reaction. Self absorbed on her cell phone (and she did hit my door).
