Came here expecting to have a good experience, but unfortunately, I left very disappointed. I first ordered a coffee and chocolate ice cream for my wife. Then I ordered a waffle cone with strawberry shortcake ice cream and a side of mix peanuts for my self. The boy gave me a waffle cone with chocolate and strawberry ice cream instead. I didn't want to make a big deal about it, so I asked again for the strawberry shortcake, and he put the first ice cream order in the bag. When I got home, I realized he had given me peanut butter ice cream instead of the coffee and chocolate ice cream I originally ordered. This was not just a small mistake, the ice cream was for my wife, who is allergic to any type of peanuts. Thankfully, I noticed before she ate it. Mistakes happen, but when someone has a serious food allergy, employees need to be much more careful with orders and make sure they are giving customers exactly what they requested. There was also a lot of confusion with the orders, which made the whole experience frustrating. read more

Terrible. Ordered from them and only got one of the two items (which wasn't correct). Called for a refund and nobody was able to issue my refund but was told I'd get a call back from a manager. I called 4 separate times and even went in to the location to speak with someone and was promised a call back from the owner. Now I have to contest the charge. Awful customer service. read more

I just spent $60 on quarts of ices for my Father's Day gathering tomorrow. Every year I have bought Ralph's for my guests for many occasions and have always been given a stack of paper cups for my guests. THIS TIME, I was told that Ralph's no longer has the paper cups and that I would have to pay 50 cents for EACH cup that I want . . . another $10.00 for cups for my guests after spending $60 on ices!!!!!! Are they kidding me???? Charging me $10 for something I used to get for free? How greedy can you get? You can bet that all of my guests tomorrow will hear about this, as well as all my clients in my business. Shame on you, Ralph's. Putting your personal greed for profit above taking care of your loyal clientele. I think it's time to find a new place. read more

I've never had a worst experience getting ice cream. I came in wanting one thing, a birthday cake doughnado. When I order, he informs me they are out of birthday cake cookie dough and that they only have chocolate chip. Totally fine. He fumbles through some papers, then tells me they also don't have birthday cake ice cream. I assure him it's okay, as a doughnado is made with soft serve anyways. He calls in a co worker (presumably his manager) to help him, and she starts scooping some vanilla ice cream. She then looks up and me and clarifies what I'm ordering, so I tell her. (A birthday cake doughnado with chocolate chip dough instead of bday cake). After a good 5 minutes of them discussing how they are going to make it, she comes over and has me pay. I pay, and I see her go back and begin making definitely not what I just paid for. I was practically given vanilla ice cream with chocolate chips on top. No sprinkles, no cookie dough in sight. Before I could say anything, she looks past me and starts talking to her friend who had come in to visit, acting as if I didn't even exist. $7.25 down the drain on a cup of soft serve with chocolate chips. I've been to the same Ralph's and had the same thing made, so this wasn't rocket science. They even had the poster with a picture of the actual product on display. Now that I'm writing this I know it's not the end of the world, but the fact that the presumed manager refused to acknowledge the fact that what she gave me was not what I ordered at all really irks me. read more

Came here tonight for ice cream and the service was terrible! There was a young girl and young boy working at around 9:30pm. I said hello and they didn't greet us back at all. & The young girl was spraying cleaning spray on the ice cream windows while they were open and the spray was flying all over the ice cream. Very unsanitary!!!! Not to mention no manners at all. Customer service was awful and unsanitary!!! Never coming back to this location. This Ralph's location needs new employees asap. Very disappointed. read more

I love this place. I don't like this spoiled little town, but I love the franchise and this one always seems to have my favorite flavors in stock. As a kid, I would get the water ice's. Usually lemon or cotton candy. Now, I get Toffee Bar Crunch or Cookie Dough. I try it in a thing they call a 'Twister' which is an ice in the middle of soft served ice cream. So I'm boring and just get vanilla soft serve. But if you're on Long Island, this is the number one stop. An east coast delicacy you will remember forever read more

Bottom line: In all my years of eating ice cream, this is my favorite! I haven't tried the ices, so i am referring to the ice cream, of which there are several flavors, Mississippi Mud and Butter Pecan being my favorites. My wife and I get them often, sometimes mixing both flavors, always packed fresh by one of the young workers in a quart-sized container (totally worth the money). The richness of the chocolate in the Mississippi Mud is worth the trip alone, with the Butter Pecan also standing out as incredibly rich and delicious (and, as noted, these two flavors balance each other nicely). We just finished a quart of Mississippi Mud and it looks like I'll be heading out for more : ) read more

Italian ices are good but thats it. Could've had better service. I went 30 minutes before closing (I understand people want to go home) and the girl at the counter was very rude. She kept yelling what else....what else.... very rude and intentions to rush me out of there. Not coming back here for bad service. read more

I really hate giving negative reviews and I debated doing so, but felt it was necessary. Me and my husband bought my kids to Ralph's on June 29th 2016 at around 8:15pm for a treat after a game win for my daughter. I ordered a large order and as I waited to give the remainder of the order, the other server stood there on her cellphone as the line grew longer. I informed her of the rest of my order thinking that this will help expedite the process, but I was ignored as she said "whose next". The nice woman behind me stated to her that I was next and that she should finish my order. The server stated "she's fine, what would you like". I was in complete shock that she totally ignored me and I decided to repeat my order, but without even making eye contact with me, she asked the woman "what would you like". I then stated that I was waiting and why wasn't she willing to take my order. She stated as she pointed to the back, "she's got it" and proceeding to take the woman's, who was reluctant to do so, order. I would normally walk away and leave but I didn't want to disappoint my kids. Keep in mind we are a family of color that lives in a neighborhood where our faces are not the norm. This was noted by my 16 year old who was present and who stated this was a clear case of someone whose not culturally sensitive. I hope management reads this review and have a conversation with their staff about good customer service. read more

i always come to this ralphs in melvile and i always get an amazing service but the other day i noticed that they have hired a guy there now. he was taking my order and it was taking him a very long time. there were two other girls there with him and i noticed that one was on break and the other girl had to tell her to come help the rest of the line. those two girls went threw the line in like 10 minutes but the guy that was helping me still didn't finish the first 2 things i ordered. i don't believe ralphs is a job for him.. i'm very disappointed in their hiring skills but otherwise i always come here and always have good service and the girls are really nice and happy read more

I understand that it's 4th of July... but they shouldn't have the store open if they don't want to serve people. There were 4 girls working and when I asked for my order, only one was busy. The phone rang and the girl helping us picked up the phone while another girl announced that the "Chinese woman can't find our store", since they were getting Chinese food delivered. Then she passed the phone along and I had to repeat my order. I ordered a large with sugar free vanilla chip/chocolate mousse. Another customer pushed next to me and stated an order and another girl was helping him. He must have been more interesting than me because the girl helping me paid attention to that transaction and I had to state my order again. I ended up with a medium with creme chocolate mousse and one scoop of creme vanilla chip. So much for getting what i was trying to pay for. I won't be going to Ralph's this summer. read more
