I had my baby shower here in the Crossbarn West event space and chose the Day Package - Brunch Buffet Package for a party of about 40 people, and I HIGHLY recommend it! All of the food was absolutely delicious, and many of our guests went back for seconds. Every staff member was extremely helpful, kind, and attentive to everyone throughout the entire event. Honestly, this was one of the best experiences I've ever had with a catered/serviced event. They were accommodating in so many ways, from helping us unload our decorations in the pouring rain to making a separate dish for my sister who had a dietary issue. They also prepared pizza and chicken tenders for my little niece and nephew, which they absolutely loved! Some of our guests were running a little late because of the weather, and since our event was four hours long, the staff was flexible and even recommended leaving the appetizers out a little longer so those guests would still have a chance to enjoy them. Little things like that really made us feel taken care of. Many of my guests commented on how beautiful the atmosphere of the space was, and for some, the elevator was an especially convenient feature for getting to the event room. I would 100% have another event here. I was so, so happy with how everything turned out, and what meant the most was that it wasn't just my experience -- every single one of my guests had a wonderful time and enjoyed themselves as well! I came here for a work lunch. Service was great- they were attentive and I'll admit we sat a bit longer than a regular party and we did not feel rushed at all. They checked in regularly on us and were accommodating considering we hadn't made a reservation and it was a group of 7 of us. The food was great- what I ordered: Appetizers: -Mozzarella Sticks: pretty solid- perfectly fried and stuffed with mozzarella cheese! We went to Zuzu for the first time tonight for dinner; we'd been to Croxley Ale House and Waterzooi many times before so had high expectations which were definitely met. We started at the bar with drinks and an appetizer; everything was great and our bartender Danielle was amazing. We would recommend the calamari and the Summer Basil Smash cockail. We moved to the restaurant for dinner and our server Colleen was very friendly, professional and knowledgeable about the menu. We had the 8 layer eggplant parm and the cavatelli for our dinner. We splurged on dessert, sharing the twisted rainbow cookie sundae and the tiramisu shake. After a not so stellar first visit, we re-visited Zuzus at the request of the owner, Jeff. Definitely a better experience, all around! Our waitress, Sam, was very sweet and attentive. Started off with the pear cider, which was delicious! We did mostly pizzas this time and the price fixe tomato mozzarella / Sunday sauce combo. However, things went more uphill from there. We started with the meatballs and the calamari. The meatballs were a hit, one of the best dishes of the day. The calamari was standard but still good. We grabbed a steak Caesar salad, which was surprisingly pretty good, and the clam pizza, which wasn't my favorite (probably my own fault though the clams were fishier than I expected for the pizza). The Detroit Pizza was the only bright spot. I would give the pizza a 9 out of 10. Unfortunately, that's where it ends. The appetizers were ok, nothing to get excited about. The dinners were a resounding negative. The chicken parm required a steak knife to cut, one of the pastas was so hard that is would make al dente look like over cooked pasta. My best friend and I had the best time at Zuzu. We randomly stumbled upon this place while looking for a good, new food spot in Farmingdale. Thankfully, we were pleasantly surprised with Zuzu. Was craving a wood fired pizza and came upon Zuzu. Ordered the fried calamari which was perfection in terms that I'm not really a fan of the tentacles (none were served) and they were the perfect width to being crispy. The picked spiced peppers were a perfect addition and both a marinara and aioli sauce was served on the side (which I prefer). The serving was plentiful to the point that I was almost too full for the pizzas! For pizza we ordered the Diavla and Prosciutto Parma. The Diavla had a sweetness due to the honey as well as a salty bite due to the pepperoni. The Prosciutto Parma was a good offset as it was a white sauce. Ordered the arugula salad I wasn't keen on this dressing it was supposed to be balsamic but it had a lot of herbs which I didn't enjoy. Pizza with sausage ala vodka was tasty fresh but I'm personally not into sausage so o wouldn't order that again. They forgot my brother's chicken parm and I had to remind the server. He did say it was good when it came out. Nice addition to have soft serve with different toppings as well as other desserts. Service slow but not bad. Came to Zuzu with friends for my birthday and was so happy with our experience. We started with dinner and drinks; I had only been to Zuzu for pizza at the bar before, and we were all really happy with our cocktails (great espresso martinis) and our entrees. I got the pork chop which was huuuuuge and delicious; not dried out despite its size which can be a difficult feat. My cannolis came out with a candle and a birthday song which I of course loved, and my friends were happy with the opportunity to end their meal with soft serve! The staff was wonderful - our server Rich was awesome, and when we moved up to the bar after dinner for drinks, the staff very nicely let us take up a table there so we could get comfortable. This is only a review on the ice cream window!! Great addition to Main St! Love the idea of curbside soft serve & ice cream! Makes me think of all the things I've heard about Italy serving wine in the wall! If only we could have that! Haha I will say, I was bummed that they didn't have many of the flavors listed. It felt like half the menu said coming soon. That being said - the pistachio flavor I got was creamy and delicious! A kids size was just under $5 which didn't seem toooooo outrageous. However my only complaint is this, I live Italian cuisine however I dislike cheese ( I know, not a good combo) there menu is dependent on cheese. The cutlet is very tasty but the portion is quite small and they compensate by completely drowning it in arugula so you cannot see it. I purchased tickets to a Rose Fest they were hosting. My 1st impression not great - when I approached the hostess stand - she was rude and very unwelcoming - she led with a yea? If I was coming for dinner I would have walked out (hence the 3 stars instead of 4) - instead I walked away from her and asked another employee for assistance, who by the way was amazing - he was welcoming and friendly - verified my name on the list and showed me where to go. Perfect crust- made with Italian flour/ dough, that tastes great and has less gluten in it. We had the truffle mushroom pizza- but I asked them to put some tomato sauce on it and they did. Very accommodating., Americano pizza and the Buffalo moz pizza. All great. They have an ice cream window next door, and you can order ice cream, for dessert. Also amazing.
