This is about online shopping and contactless curbside pickup during pandemic: Must admit my hubby and I have not been much of a Ralph's shopper. Covid changed that. Ralphs clearly understands the people's need at this time especially the elderly and the vulnerable. Their curbside pickup is such a blessing and we are so thankful they offer it! We order online and at an appointed date and time, my husband drives to the store, calls a number, store rep comes out with the bags of groceries, car trunk is opened from the driver's seat, our online orders are loaded, trunk is closed and voila, off he goes! Thank you so much! If you are used to a Whole Foods or Trader Joe's shopping, Ralphs has organic and natural choices too, all you do is to make suggestions to Ralphs to improve service. I suggested few things and they don't disappoint! Minor things like please, I don't want my banana all yellow, throw in some greens too....Or please safely pack the eggs, etc. Would be great if they have cold packs for perishables. I know they put the ordered items in a refrigerated area after shopping but cold packs would be handy in hot weather. Curbside pickup staff and customer service are great. Very appreciative and because of this, when pandemic is over, we will continue to shop at Ralphs most of the time and the rest of our grocery needs at Whole Foods. The only thing that is difficult I am finding out is in modifying the date and time of the pickup. Once you have checked out, your only choice of changing the pickup time is to cancel the order for you to change. Then, you can add same order again (which is not erased temporarily) and then set the new date and time. Just make sure the order was really cancelled, via email. Lastly, hoping Ralphs management read the reviews of others who are concerned about Covid precautions/masks not being done/worn at the store? Masks and social distancing should be enforced and respected for all people to feel safe. Here is hoping too that those who shop for us are wearing masks and yes, gloves when applicable. This review is mostly for the Floral Manager, Mary. I have gone in multiple times to get flowers (which are already overpriced as it is. Trader Joe's sells them for half) but I go here for the simple fact that it's much closer to me. She has been SO rude on each occasion. I'm in the service industry and I'm totally understanding to the fact that everyone has off days...but this seems to happen EVERY TIME. It's like I'm inconveniencing her when I ask a question. Most of the cashiers are super sweet and friendly. They need to re-evaluate their talent because I can't believe this lady is in management. I'm so disappointed in this service. I'd rather drive the extra couple miles from now on to go to a different location or an actual florist if it means avoiding the attitude. My very first '1 Star' review, should be a no star, but have to give 1 for a review. So reviewing a grocery store, not something I ever think about doing since it's second nature to my everyday life. However, there are exceptions. Something really great, or something really wrong. Well this Ralphs has something really wrong. I HAVE HAD IT!!!! I am done coming here. This is the closest grocery store to my house and I will now drive the extra 3 miles to go to Albertsons. First, they do not self checkout, so if you have a few items, you are screwed. You must wait for the once a month grocery shopper to unload their two carts and checkout. Speaking of the super shopper that hasn't discovered Costco yet, I come here at night around 10 PM a lot usually for some water or something quick. Well there is always a line and always that one person that does their big shop at midnight. What pisses me off most, is that the NIGHT MANAGER here is ridiculous. She seems to always have something else she needs to be doing rather than opening up and helping customers. She's either putting coins in the coin dispenser, or chatting away to someone, or making it like she has to be on the phone since nobody in Southern California knows Ralphs is open 24 hours and all decide to call at midnight. As you can see I am extremely frustrated with her and this Ralphs. I have had items in my hand or a basket, been in line, and have stood there for several minutes starring at her to see if maybe, just maybe she would open. NOPE. So I just set my items down on the floor right near the checkout, and walk out to CVS. I figure by me doing this, I am actually helping her out because if gives her one more thing to do besides help customers, but I also know that it makes her mad as well. Grocery stores shouldn't have too many reviews but this one needs it. I just moved to Laguna Niguel and this location is convenient for me because I get off the 73 to get home from work and it's right there on the way. So I went there a few times. The first time one of the employees made fun of me because I was wearing a Red Sox shirt. No biggie, I can take some hazing, but that really shouldn't come from an employee to a customer. There's this old lady that works the cash register, and I thought she might've forgotten to give me my keys back after scanning my rewards card, instead of checking she just said "No, I gave them back to you." and gave me a dirty look. I mean she did give them back to me but the dirty look was uncalled for. I politely said, "Excuse me, did you give me my keys back?" There's this other lady with curly hair that's kinda overweight. She has no sense of customer service. She'll help the girl in front of me looking for the nearest Chase but she won't bag my groceries. Also, the manager guy gets visibly annoyed with his employees in front of the customer. It's fine to get annoyed with these incompetent half-wits, but don't do it in front of the customer. It just makes an awkward situation for us. I saw that the Ralph's on La Paz had 2 stars, and I'm starting to go there now and it just feels a lot better there. read more

I am disappointed in this store. First of all they have a bad habit of having only two checkouts open when there are about 50 people in line. And second, I was really irritated when I bought beer at noon for a party I was having later that night and one of the grocery packers decided to make the smart comment - "starting rather early today?". What is that supposed to mean? Am I supposed to reschedule my entire day to buy beer later because I need to worry about what the grocery packer thinks??? Totally rude and unprofessional. read more

This is the best ralphs in the area. Better than aliso viejo on aliso creek and better than Laguna hills on paseo and better than Dana point in ocean ranch. I drive all the way to this one and live in aliso viejo directly behind one simply because the selection is better. They have similar items to wholefoods and are cheaper. They have a great layout too only problem is the stocking at night makes it impossible to go through aisles of course it was midnight but other than that great location! Open till 1 and at night they shut the visors to certain refrigerated sections but just open them up if u want something from that section fyi no biggie! read more

I went into Ralphs this morning at approximately 6:20 to surprise my wife for her birthday before she awoke this morning. I walked right in and headed straight to the section with the cards and balloons visible from the window. There was a female employee at the front that saw me enter and looking at the balloons. I selected two and kindly asked her if she could please get someone to help me fill up a few generic colored balloons. She responds and calls someone over the intercom. I wait for 5 minutes then 10 minutes then 15 min. I walk back over to her and ask her if someone is coming to help me. She tells me no one is here for that department that can help you. Wait so no one can fill up 3-4 balloons for me?? Also you saw me in plain site the whole time waiting, why didn't you let me know immediately I would not be helped versus making me wait with hope of being assisted and wasting my time. When she told me that I dropped both of my balloons, let them know that it was ridiculous that I could not be helped with balloons (out of everything) and walked out of the store. I feel like anyone working there could of helped me fill up a few balloons. I ended up going to Chick-fil-A and getting her breakfast but it really ruined my chance at making a special morning for her for her birthday. I will never shop at Ralph's again unfortunately. Love this Ralph's and every staff member has been super helpful, but this is specifically for the gentleman in the liquor/wine department. He has helped so much every time I'm in there. I was recently looking for a bread and butter cab while he was in the midst of restocking and he went through ALL of his boxes to try and find it for me. I avoid Cleo every time I come to this location. She is a manager but she's the coldest person I've encountered at this location. She's rude and never smiles or says hello. Been coming here over 25 over years when it was Hughes back in the day. I still remember sweet Vera the cashier as a child but she's no longer working. She recently retired. I do enjoy going here for my shopping but at times I have gone elsewhere because of their attitudes and selection at this location. The meat department isn't any better. I like to do my shopping earlier and they never have anything ready around 930-10! Other groceries are ready to go early because they know people can't wait. I just stumbled upon the review below this one by "Paul R". Paul R is clearly a high maintenance man-child who gets upset when people react like human beings when he shouts at them. I can attest that all the meat options that he insisted be orated to him are on display for the choosing. Please read Paul's review as a lesson on how not to order a sandwich. It's just a sandwich Paul, don't come in with the expectations of being pampered like a giant baby and you will do better in the future. Try not to start shouting at people who are preparing food for you. People who do this sort of thing end up consuming gallons of spit over the course of their lives and die prematurely of stress related medical conditions far too often. Anyway, I go to this store a lot and have always managed to just buy my groceries without any problems and the staff has been pleasant. I noticed the majority of negative reviews seemed to be left by snobs with entitlement issues and unrealistic expectations regarding customer service. Stores get busy sometimes. If you can't handle it, do society a favor and hire someone who can emotionally endure the trappings of going to a grocery store.
