This review is everything about Covid-19. The workers here don't follow social distancing. The security who hangs at the entrance wasn't wearing a mask when I came in. Most of the workers were hanging out and talking at only entrance which force me to be within 6 feet of someone without a mask. Ralphs... hmmm I like the remodel... besides the fact tht everything is locked up now!!! But the staff is pretty good at coming to help quickly when you press the button for them to come open up the locked cases. The only thing tht really is soo super annoying now is the fact that we only have one door to go in and out of and I always see people running into eachother and hitting eachother with their carts. I find myself accidentally running into people also. The checkout stand lines are always long. I think they have like 5 or 6 registers and only 2 or 3 are open and the self checkout... I think they have 6 machines but 2 or 3 always say closed. Btwn the hours of 3 and 6 forget it! The lines are out of control long. The improvements to this store are very modern. My main concern is the entrance and exit is on the same side of the store. In comparison to other Ralph's in the area. It's disrespect to the hard working community such as myself that live in the area. I know on Saturdays and Sundays there was a lot traffic from the youngsters that post up with their cars and booming system. But they don't live in the area. So if that was the concern for not having a two sided entrance. You could have closed one side down on those days. I say that because I see it done at the others Ralph's for safety and precaution reasons. Other than that it's a great store with a big organic selection. To include rice and the almond milk. 1 star for the deli lady who hustled to get our chicken ready. We placed an order for chicken for an event we were having Sat to be picked up at 4pm since our event started at 4:30pm. Well my husband went to pick up the chicken and when he got there he was informed somebody had crossed out our time and hand wrote 7pm. Our chicken wasn't ready and by this time we had a full house of hungry guest. The lady was so confused and became very overwhelmed but managed to start making the chicken while she called her manager. It took the manager 30 min to come meet me, no remorse whatsoever. So you give a new store but the service sucks! You treat us like criminals by locking up items that you think we will still! What a load of BS! I went to Ralph's today and decided to by a razor to shave my legs with. It cost $8. It was locked up so I rang the buzzer on the case and a store clerk came to unlock the case but still couldn't give it to me. She took it to the register and told me she would find me later to tell which register. She forgot to tell me and I left without a razor. Ralph's put sensors on the items and hire more guards and stop treating all your damn customers like crooks!!! Eating some costs due to theft is the cost of doing business! Thursday, October 1, 2015 I am the owner of a preschool not far from a Ralphs that I frequently service, at least 4 times a week. It is this Ralphs that I visit to shop for school breakfast, lunches and snacks. It is this Ralphs that I visit to grocery shop for my family. I have always felt comfortable visiting this Ralphs and for the most part, people like Resa and Andre, make me feel welcome, each time I visit this location. In ten years of frequenting this Ralphs, I have never had anything remotely negative to say about any of the staff members, until I dropped by the store to pick up some food for my 10-month old baby, at an unusual time of the night, 10:31p.m. I usually drop by during morning hours or early evening. Tonight, I decided to grab a few items on my way home and I was treated remarkably horrible after visiting the line of a cashier by the name of Joe. I placed my baby food jars on the conveyor belt one by one as he began to bark at me. I could not make out what he was saying so I said, "Pardon me." Joe barks, "Never mind," shaking his head in disgust. Again, I replied, "Pardon me." Joe barked at me again, " Put a divider down ma'am!" I was so shocked; I began to collect my items from the belt in an effort to make my way to another line. One line was at a complete halt, so I made my way to the only other line that was open, 15 items or less. I explained to the manager, James J. that I apologize for coming to his line with 18 items but I felt so bad after how I was treated by Joe, 3 lines over. Is this how Ralphs allows cashiers to talk to customers who come to spend their hard earned money? I already felt bad due to a very emotional week and to walk into a store, where the customer service was horrible, made me feel ten times worse. I guess that a few customers would have challenged Joe to an argument out of ignorance. But I am not that customer. I spend too much money, weekly with this establishment, to be treated in such a way. I am assuming that this letter, which I sat down to write after an exhausting day, may not make a big difference because obviously Joe feels some comfortability in treating customers in this way. Resa, a recent Ralphs retiree was one of the main reasons my family loved visiting this location. Her warm welcome and conversation will be missed tremendously. The workers at the deli clearly don't care enough about their jobs. They assist one customer at a time (in this case: an elderly woman) at the deli counter, and with the amount of workers in the back & 1 worker at the counter, us customers were standing there for a solid 15-20 minutes, with the workers engaging in leisurely conversation in-between, saying if one specific co-worker wasn't working that day, they might as well shut down the deli. The cashier and the representative bagging groceries carried on a conversation the entire time. The cashier was older yet had no manners. To make matters worse they charge for bags. I like this Ralph's. Don't bother coming here if you don't have a Ralph's savings card. I used to shop at Fresh and Easy but I save so much here. I don't really shop here but most things are cheap here outside of the frozen foods isle. The snacks: candy, sodas, and chips are super cheap. Many deals here at Ralph's and has a self checkout. There is ample parking and you'll always have a place to park. I park the same place every time. Just don't park under the lights - you'll get bird crap all over your vehicle. I love the $2 pound bag of RedVines and 2 for $5 bag of Doritos or Lay's chips. Bucket of ice cream is as low as $2.99 and overall you can get your money's worth! The service is okay but they don't go out their way to help you. There are homeless outside sometimes - just walk around them or past then. I don't pay attention to them. read more

Why is customer service so hard to come by? It's simple treat people how you would want to be treated. I would think the same applies to running a business. Manage your shift as if it's your own company. The Community Ralph's is just unacceptable. You have to wait hours for someone to open the laundry door and the 1 exit for the entire store. God forbids an accident happens. How did the fire chief even approve such a design? Whack!!! So in today's episode the kitchen area ran out of chicken. Managing 101. I speak with the assistant manager on duty and he pretty much tells me I should have called 24-48 hours. Thanks for the advice I did not ask for! Assistant manager goes back to his job. I would not have experienced this if I decide to travel to Ralph's west from here. Why do I have to break my gas tank to receive better customer service. Does Ralph's have a training program? What is the hiring process? The store managers/assistant managers do not do a great job managing. The only consistent thing is the produce department and that the security guard opens the laundry door. This post probably will not help either (roll eyes) but something needs to be said about the customer service between each Ralph's, the look and management is the complete opposite. This Ralph's needs modernizing and expanding, but it's a very good store. Tired old linoleum floors are kept clean, and dated fixtures all work. The employees are professional and friendly, and the managers respond quickly to any problems. Yes, poor people shop here, but so do others, and everyone is pretty much on good behavior. There are sometimes panhandlers outside, but you'll also find them outside the Ralph's on the westside, or in West Hollywood -- so what's the deal with characterizing this store as GHETTO?? Like myself, many shoppers are middle class, college-educated professionals who live near by choice. If you're into health foods, or the more expensive cuts of meat, or a salad bar, this Ralphs is not for you. But the store does a very good job of catering to its clientele, and it has an impressive selection of quality chardonnay's and red wines. If you find shopping alongside black and brown people upsetting, you should not come here. If you're so sensitive that the sight of a poor beggar ruins your experience, you should not come here. If you just want to buy groceries in a clean, friendly environment, at good prices, and get in and out quickly, this is a good place. read more

Closest market to my work, I mainly go there because they surprisingly have my favorite brand of jerky: Krave! They actually have a bigger variety of it than any of the target's I go to. I work nearby and I was so happy that I wouldn't have to drive too far for my favorite coffee drink, boy was I wrong. The Starbucks here sucks!!! Avoid if possible!!! Their customer service lacks big time, and the last time I was there the girl who I assume knew how to make all of the drinks showed so much frustration at the fact that none of the other workers knew how to make the drinks that she kept talking under lip. She talked about the customers, which I'm sure could here her. The guy at the cashier did not know what drink had what, and he ignored our orders to " hook up" a fellow Ralphs employee.... seriously! 20 minutes later I get my drink and it tastes nothing like my usual go to. So they just put the Starbucks in the store, my husband stops in to get a drink. He's in there for over 20 minutes while the girls working there have lack of customer service. Not finishing each customers order and moving on to chat with cashiers while in the middle of making a drink. We were so excited to finally have one near us and now he will not return, the young girls need to learn customer service, Starbucks isn't a necessity it's a luxury and not cheap to boot!! You have a great product however having the right staff to execute it is a different story. Believe me this isn't our first time in a Starbucks in LA. My husband and I just moved to this area earlier this week. We wanted to find the nearest and most conveniant grocery store which is Ralphs. Only .4 miles away so we were hoping it would be our new spot to buy our groceries. I like the fact that they have security both outside and inside of the store. The store is kept clean and we met Joanna the cashier lady that helped us. She was so energetic/very happy and made us feel comfortable as she conversated with us a bit! She let us know that the Ralphs had just been newly renovated and they now have a starbucks coffee shop inside. She informed us that they are hiring and she also gave me a ralphs card which I did not have yet. Loved our first experience and will be back to do our usual shopping here! I've been shopping at this Ralphs since 2003, albeit infrequently. I only go here when I need a few things, because it's so unpleasant. There seems to be no attempt by the store to make the location nicer. Other Ralphs have landscaping, this one has nothing in the parking lot but dirt, tons of baskets all over (they don't seem to gather them), and people either begging for money, or trying to sell bootleg CDs. Inside, it's not well kept. It's dirty. I have seen the guy who works in produce taking care of that section. Walking the rest of the store, though, it looks bad. This place really needs an upgrade. My neighbors and I drive out of the community five miles to Trader Joe's rather than shop here. I think the people running this store must think there's no one in this community but low-income residents. It's not true. They think that because many of the homeowners refuse to subject themselves to the conditions of this store. If it improved, they'd see a change in the clientele. read more
