    Locked up merchandise

I mean I know where we at but damn we can't just fake it sometimes . I wouldn't come here to ship for anything if it wasn't an absolute NEED! The people that work here attitudes are just as tow up as the streets outside. Just do yourself a favor and take your money to the other side of town were it is appreciated. I came here to get some tide and some diapers and they had it locked up like the commissary in the pen, no thanks bookie! And I came at 6:49 pm on a weekday not after hours.

Small ass checkout area for entire store is now located in north east corner. Right after this freezer section is checkout. Smh

There is a duplicate listing of this same location, that is found under "ralph's." Therefore, I copied and pasted the same review to that page as well: Ive been going to this store for at least a decade, due to geographic convenience. I havent been here in like 5 months. I finally come back today to see the finished remodeled place. The good: its finally clean inside. Freezer sections are clean. Deli section is clean. Meat section is clean. Eggs are in new closed fridge and are clean. There is a new clean floor. New self check out is nice and clean. New shopping carts are clean. There is a starbucks for people who like that stuff. Its nice and clean. Notice how the prevalent good things are the cleanliness of the store. That should be standard for any store. The bad and ugly: Store seemed to have focused primarily on thwarting and preventing shoplifting. As a result, everyone is treated like a potential criminal. Cameras installed are noticeably every where. Security watches like a hawk. There is an entire aisle full of locked cages. Shampoo. Deodorant. Toothpaste. Liqud hand soap. Lotion. ALL LOCKED UP IN A CAGE. If you need these items, buzz for personnel and wait indefinitely. When he or she finally arrives, you must disclose which check out you will go so they can meet you up there lol. No, he or she will not allow you to put some 99 cent toothbrush in your cart. After all, this store treats all of its customers like potential shoplifters. What if i only came to this damn store to buy 5 items thats locked in a stupid cage? I would go stand in line with nothing. Then wait for ralphs personnel to bring over my five items. This location closed off their 2nd entrance/exit. One way in. One way out. Im sure this will discourage thieves from coming here. In an emergency, im sure most of the slow people will be trampled on. I dont buy starbucks. But from what i have read and continue to read, this crap doesnt taste like starbucks. New personnel doesnt no how to properly make this stuff. Parking lot is remodeled. Panhandling is not as bad as it used to be. But it still exists. They are just not conspicuous. Parking lot is always overcrowded as well. There may be a reason for that...the long ass lines for checkout... Checkout has been relocated to the small ass area where the cold drinks were....yes that small ass north east corner of store. Im sure they fired or got rid of a lot of cashiers. This area is so tiny. I got in line. Line stretched all the way to the meat section. Most people were just standing in one line. They didnt even no that there were separate lines. Personnel didnt say anything. I just got in front of most people and went straight to self check out. Computers are all new. Self checkout is a breeze once you access it. Im not sure why this store got rid of a lot of old personnel. Customer service has taken a turn for the worse. I couldnt find a single store personnel on any aisle. I bet if some thief picked up an item and put it in his or her pocket, he or she would've had store personnel responded immediately Bottom line, Ill stick to a traditional ralphs store. Not this theft-deterrents dump. NEWSFLASH: Everyone who frequents this store isnt a shoplifter. We dont all receive government handouts. I work hard for my $$. I will spend it at a location that doesnt treat its customers like common criminals Best thing about this store is leaving.

Walk in Ralph's ask manager standing in the pay your self machine and ask if it can give cash back . He said yes go ahead . I purchased a chocolate and pay for it but didn't give option for cash back , I ask the same manager what button should I press. He said " I don't know " . I told him " you don't know your POS" . Now I went to the register line and purchase a second chocolate , I befriended the customer in from of me and she was explaining that the Pat your self machine does not distribute ash back , afterwards it's my turn before anything I said the cashier yell at me " are you going to get cash back !!? I need to know now to get money from somewhere else . I guess she was listening to my conversation in the line , I was annoyed and I said please just charge me for my chocolate , she seem very upset and started moving her hands , she ask again are you going to get cash back and I yell just charge me for my fucking chocolate what the fuck is wrong with you !!! the security approach me almost a feet away not respecting 6 feet away and started to harassed me . He said get out your not welcome get out never come back and follow me to my car with his phone recording , I was afraid for my life honestly this should not be the way let a manager handle not the security with a gun and weapons with him over HES A MALE AI AM A FEMALE AND HEA A FEET AWAY I FEAR FOR MY LIFE AND NO THE MANAGER WAS GONE !!!!the cashier not charging me for my chocolate !!!!!! And me yelling BACK ......not wearing proper mask intimidating me has my license plates on his phone

Poor customer service. Due to the place's location is really dirty and adding the employee's behavior is by far the worst place to go.

Their marinated galbi short ribs are delicious, their marinade tastes like restaurant quality. There's also a good selection of marinated meats. They also serve hot foods like Korean fried chicken, kimbap, fried rice, and japchae located towards the back of the store. There's also a good selection of banchans, and I love their kimchi. I had just come back from going…read moreout and ran into my mom in front of the elevator, and she asked me to go to the market with her. But honestly, this place is absolutely terrible and horrible. Both my mom and I agreed that we will never come back here again. My mom had come to get a refund because one of the pears she bought the day before was completely rotten. The market manager refunded $2 to her credit card, which was fine. The real problem started after that. When my mom was trying to drive out of the parking lot, the gate bar went up after scanning the parking ticket, but then suddenly came crashing down. If my mom hadn't quickly backed up, it could have hit her car. The bigger issue was that after that, the gate bar never went back up again. Cars behind us had to use another exit nearby. My mom, who was very shaken, went to ask the market manager what to do, but she said she didn't know. (At first, I stayed in the car and had to tell the cars behind us to use the other exit because the gate was not working). I was very upset when I heard that, so I went inside and asked the manager for the building management's contact number. She gave me a number, but when I called, the person who answered kept saying she couldn't find the address even after I repeated it more than ten times. Eventually, she told me they no longer manage that building. So I asked her to provide the contact number for the property management that handles the building, and she gave me another number. but it led to an automated system. After selecting the emergency option, a man answered, but even after I clearly spelled out "Zion" multiple times (Z as in Zebra, I as in Ice cream, O as in Oscar, N as in Nancy), he still couldn't understand and then told me that they no longer manage the building and hung up. We arrived at the market around 5 PM and didn't get out until 7 PM. No one helped us at all. After the call, I went back to the market manager again, but she still said she didn't know anything. It made me so angry--how can a manager not even know the property management contact for the building they work in? I also have low blood sugar, so when I get hungry, I start shaking. I ended up buying a piece of bread from the Paris Baguette inside the market. I didn't have cash with me, so I had to pay $3.50 with my card, but thankfully, the staff there was very kind. In the end, my brother had to come all the way from Burbank to get a new parking ticket for us so we could finally get out--after two hours. If he hadn't come, we might have been stuck there even longer or had to abandon the car. Thinking about it now still makes me extremely angry. The customer service is terrible, the building management is a mess, and there was no security at all. I never want to come back to this place. We spent two hours there, from 5 PM to 7 PM, completely wasting our time. Because of this, I couldn't do anything I had planned for the rest of the afternoon and evening. It was an absolute nightmare. My mom was also very upset and couldn't believe a place like this exists. FYI) Every time I come to this market, there is absolutely no cell phone signal., which is another major downside.

It was so beautiful and intricately arranged that I was sure they painstakingly did this themselves. But, no, they got it at LA G&C and went on to describe all the wonderful offerings in such glowing terms that we decided to go out of our way to give it a try. And so, on what could be called a rare dreary day in LA, we made our way to the up and coming hip neighborhood now called Melrose Hill. If you haven't checked out the area, you should probably Google it -- this is a dynamic area undergoing restoration. The main developers aim to keep the character of old Los Angeles while attracting the latest and best venues -- cafes, restaurants, bars -- among them Los Angeles Grocery & Cafe. There is a large parking lot accessed directly off Melrose. When it is time to leave, you simply drive through to the side street exit. Easy! Look at my photos -- the place is barn-like, keeping its rafters from the original building true to the promise of the building owners, with lots of unique inventory and room to add much, much more. You will find things you don't see elsewhere. We snapped up a bunch of items to try, including a few of my all time faves: gnocchi, sunflower butter, and egg salad. I would have gotten the pistachio butter but it has sugar and I like my nut butters sugar-free. If we hadn't been pressed for time, we would likely have loaded the cart with more, so that means a return visit. I want these people to thrive, so please consider coming over here and while you are at it, check out the rest of Melrose Hill, just following Melrose Avenue farther eastward. It won't be long before the entire area is the best place to be in L.A.

Similar to other Asian market set ups you'll be able to pick up hot food and other items like sashimi as well as other Japanese snacks and goodies. I also happened to pick up some good protein shakes on sale there as well as noted some other staples that I would find in big chain supermarkets. I found the aisles to be well stocked. Prices everywhere are going up so I wouldn't say this is the cheapest place to shop but for what you get it's not bad, and if you are looking to get a variety of what you need for Asian cooking this is a good spot for it. Service was quick and friendly at the register as this no frills and casual market. There is a parking garage behind the grocery as part of the mall but it can get crowded on weekends so if you're lucky you can find street parking but watch for street signs and some areas and streets are not in the best neighborhoods adjacent so be wary of your surroundings.

I asked her how things worked and she explained it all. The kefir/kombucha bottles are $4 for 16 oz and they have 3 of each on tap. I asked Marcy about one before realizing everything had a QR code and you can easily pull up the ingredients and descriptions/directions for each item. I'm getting away from plastics and this place scratches me right where I itch! They sell just about anything you can imagine! I was so impressed w the selection! They even have produce and fresh sourdough bread! The day old is 50% off and I'm so mad I was in a pinch and had to buy store bought bread, otherwise I would've tried it today. I can't say enough. Even the music was fire and I was shazaming and jamming. Shower gels, body care, non seed oils, baking mixes, laundry pods and things you see in bulk at like Sprouts, but the quality and sourcing seems to be better. Some items don't need jars and they sell paper bags for .10 each. I did a kombucha/kefir tasting. Marcy brought these steel bowls over. No waste at all! If you drink the POG kefir soda at Erewhon and love it, try it here! It's made w fruit and is noticeably better! And POG there is my fave. Just try it at Re_!!! So when I was checking out I asked Marcy about being more prepared and bringing my own glasses next time. They've thought of everything!!!! There's iPads and scales in the front of the store. They weigh your empty containers and give you a sticker with the tare weight and then subtract it from the weight at the end! Revolutionary! They add 3% for the employees. I should've added more. Marcy was amazing and worth it. I'm honestly not big on tipping everyone for just breathing but if all the employees are like Marcy, they are worth way more than 3%! If you sign up you get 100 points instantly, $1 = 1 pt, and at 200 pts you get $10! It's not hard to spend in places like this but it's beyond worth it. I keep seeing things about the harms of plastic and don't get me started on all the other crap in our food. I foresee this as a new staple in my diet and home. They even have cleaning products! I'm getting my spices here from now on too! I'm a fan and I'll be back! Thank you Marcy and to the owners that had this amazing idea!
