YELP 100 CHALLENGE 2018 - PART 2: 70/100 It was supposed to be a simple and quick stop. I just wanted either a powder mix or a jar of gravy. This isn't my local grocery store, so I wasn't really sure where to go. I figure a good spot to ask is at the deli. I found a couple of workers there and asked if they knew where I can get pre-made gravy. I was told they didn't have that available there. I asked if they could direct me where I might find it in the store, but they didn't seem too responsive. It may have been a simple misunderstanding - maybe they thought I was asking if they prep it at their specific area and just simply couldn't go beyond that. I just left it at that. I don't know how, but I somehow found what I needed anyway, and I found it surprisingly fast. At least that shows they're organized, right?! Otherwise, uneventful. read more

Definitely the rudest people I've ever met. I try never to go to Ralph's but every once in a while end up there for some unknown reason as I know I shouldn't go in. If you have a question, you will just get a smart ass answer. I ran in today and met up with another smart ass employee at the "self" checkout line. There were two employees standing there, just yakking away and I ask for confirmation on something. Lo and behold I get another smart ass answer. My bad;I know not to go in there and I'm still amazed that they haven't gone out of business! read more

Rolled through this local spot , close by my parents house . My go to spot is usually the location next to south high ; but as I was closer to this one I knew I could still definitely find what I need ! Quickly parked , went in & needed to grab a few things for a last minute birthday visit . Ralph's always impresses . First thing I saw walking in were the abundance of pink and red! They're fully stalked with the most gorgeous flowers and balloons, and my favorites ! I ended up finding the most perfect items , and a few other things things I needed real quick along with some unplanned ones too. Score ! I love a good come up. Felt so accomplished walking back to my car and ready to roll out . Is it me or has this location improved a lot ? I should remember to come back here more often! read more

I would give them zero stars if possible. Their website and app is impossible navigate. their customer service is horrible. They do not care whether you shop here or ever come back. They NEVER answer the phone here, God forbid you have a question or need their help. There is no recourse if you are unhappy couldn't find what you wanted or a service person was rude to you here at Ralph's Torrance. And when you call Kroger customer service to try to get help, they too are inept! Skip this store and go to Vons or Pavilions. This place is low class. read more

The employees here are all really friendly. The produce, fruits, and meats are usually pretty fresh as well. I recently found out that they will give you an aluminum pouch to bake your fish and season it for you with 4 different seasonings to choose from along with butter, lemon and fresh dill if you wish. The instructions on how long to bake the fish is on the pouch. So convenient and tastes good as well! I believe they can season your steaks as well. Just ask! read more

Ralph's here in Torrance. Best place to shop after you get something around here. Plenty of parking. There practice social distancing here. Staff was friendly and helpful and safe. Seen them wiping down the shopping carts .. so I know they keep there store safe. Prices here was good and they have a lot of inventory. My wife was able to find everything we needed read more

I really like this location but the employees working in the deli are extremely rude and mean. The girl who's always there in the morning is the rudest of all. She gets really angry if you ask any question about the food or she'll yell if you order something. read more

Ever since Kroger became Ralphs' main product line, many of my staple brands are no longer available or their 'tags are missing.' It's really annoying, and I'm considering shopping at Trader Joe's instead. If you're picky about how you make your meals, prepare to be disappointed. read more

If u love kettle popcorn and chips, u will love Kettle Flavored Popcorners. They are my new favorite "chips". They sell them in the popcorn section. TRY THEM! (they used to have them at costco for their roadtrip series, but now i can only find them at Ralphs) They come in a few different flavors like butter, jalapeno and white cheddar, but Kettlecorn is my favorite- it's on the sweet side. This review is specifically for the disgusting bathrooms and Jason at self checkout. Not sure which is worse, but let's start with the bathrooms: smells like raw sewage, only one sink works, and seems to never be cleaned. Does management not care about the cleanliness of a grocery store?! Now Jason: he gives the worst predatory vibe to all young/attractive women I know. The only people that seem to like him are sweet old ladies that seem to not get enough attention. Jason always makes me feel incredibly uncomfortable when shopping. I go out of my way to avoid him when shopping and he seems to go out of his way to harass me with unwanted attention. There was a time in self checkout that I caught him looking over my shoulder to view my phone number as I put it in for the rewards! (Thank god it's an out of service number) There's been other times that he's harassed my mother as well. Every young attractive woman that is from the South Bay that I've talked to about this have also commented on how creepy and uncomfortable he makes them feel! I've also over heard him bragging about getting other female staff transferred, he is the one that needs to be transferred! Please send him far away! Had to stop here to grab a couple things and it was a nightmare. Couldn't find two of the items and walked around the store twice - finally had to go up and down each aisle to locate the spices and vinegar. When I finally found the spices I discovered that the selection was not only poor, but many were not even stocked properly, so I had no idea what the cost was (not buying anything "blind" in this era of inflation!). After a couple of frustrating moments trying to read the tiny writing on the tags I put my other item back and went elsewhere. Even the Ralph's on Carson St. is better than this one. read more

This is one of my top 3 favorite grocery stores. They have the best bakery and deli and really care about their customers. Always well stocked. Very friendly staff (I have a few favorites I say hi to, since I'm a regular). I pop into this Ralph's store quite often to pick up a few things, since I work nearby. I'm repeatedly frustrated with their out of stocks and end up going next door to Target to get the items on my list that Ralph's is out of. This is not a covid related issue, not due to product being unavailable. The thing is, this store has a bad habit of filling their shelves with similar items when something is out of stock. This makes their shelves look full but I imagine means that whoever scans the shelf labels for out of stocks, does not actually see what is out of stock, since the shelf is full, therefore items do not get ordered. Anyhow, it's something I see almost every time I go in there...the same things I've been trying to get there for weeks are not there, but they are available at any other Ralph's store , or next door at Target. read more

THIS RALPH'S SUCKS!!! Once again, for convenience (this store is just 2 blocks away), we stopped to pick up groceries rather than driving to the other Ralph's on Calle Mayor which provides more courteous service. This time we went to the register and some jerk of a clerk named MICHAEL was a total rude prick. No greeting, no thank you, and he had a scowl on his face like someone pissed in his Cheerios. I had to ask for bag credits. I told him we had 10 bags so he half-assed punched in 7 credits. I told him that I said we had 10, and the jerk just shrugged his shoulders and looked at me. This review is specifically for the instacart online ordering. IT SUCKS! I've ordered from this Ralph's three times and EVERY time they botched the order. Over half of the items are out of stock or replaced with by a inferior substitute. After each order I usually end up visiting another grocery store to get the items that were out of stock, replaced or just plain forgotten which defeats the purpose of ordering online. I've been going to this Ralphs for over 2 decades and the service has always been very good. But their online service needs an overhaul. read more

I stopped by the deli during my lunch and asked for a sandwich. The deli staff made it for me. He did it a rush and stuffed everything in the bread and didnt layer the turkey and veggies. Aside from that, he didnt shake off the excess juice of the pickles and olives. The sandwich was soggy by the time i got back to my office. It was disgusting. I had to throw it all away. I love this location. I am homeless but I try to be clean and courteous and everyone is kind to me there and I do not steal or do anything stupid. Other homeless people were allowed to park on this side and the target side. Whether they were REALLY allowed I do not know, but I was told by people working there that it was ok. I noticed several other cars at night. So I tried a few times but no more than 3 or 4 and I normally go other areas. This security lady (she's a tall lady with a top bun usually) offered my husband and I some taco bell because I assume she was trying to be kind. We were very grateful. Never asked for anything else. Only checked in to see how she was and update her on our situation. I then found her complaining about myself and my husband, bragging about how she helped us and how ungrateful we were and basically unloading complaining and we had never done anything to her. She called us lazy bums. I am disabled and my husband is working. How are we lazy? She was so rude and I have no idea what we did. She then threatened to tow me and said she could tow me any time she wanted to. I don't know what I have done to her. She is evil or something is wrong with her I don't know. Did she want me to pay back for the taco bell? Jsut say so, lady. Anyway, she's a really horrible person. The ralphs is great though. read more

This is my local grocery store. They recently had a renovation and it looks awesome inside. I like coming here because the staff (Jason, Donald) know me and my family and it's nice to shop in a place that gives me the "small town" feel. They are great on opening up lanes when it gets busy. They are also always stocked and the produce and seafood are fresh. I tell my husband even if we move and coming here is out of the way, I'd still make the drive! read more

This review is for their awesome staff at the deli and food section. Came here with our class of teenagers with Autism. The students took awhile and were very indecisive with the food, but the staff members were very nice, friendly and patient. They even offered us some samples to help the students decide. We got baked macaroni, potato wedges, scalloped potatoes, fried chicken and sushi rolls from the suchi station. Everything was delicious and affordable. One of our go-to grocery stores. I have no complaints here. I had never heard of Ralph's until I moved out here so I really cannot compare it to any other grocery store like it. They do carry some organic fruits and veggies which is what I mostly always go for. Aisles are always clean and clear. Just your average little grocery store. read more

Perks: -Fast check out. There are always "self scan" machines available, as well as lanes open. -They underwent renovation, which contributes to this location being pleasant to frequent :) I've been to outdated Ralph's locations that seemed dull and worn out when you walk around. Even though I'm just coming to shop for food, the aesthetic appeal and effort make this location more enjoyable. -I've always found what I desired to purchase! Not only that, generally- everything seems re-shelved and nicely organized. -Friendly and accommodating service. One guy with glasses greets ya with a warm smile & offer to help! -Plenty of parking One misshap that prevented me from giving this location 5 stars: The other night as I was checking out my groceries the workers were talking negatively about someone. He was comparing someone that was seemingly "obsessed with losing weight/his progress" to a "new believer who just found Jesus" in a mocking/annoyed way. I couldn't escape listening as I was in the middle of scanning my items, and I found the conversation to be very offensive. It left a negative taste of this location, as I think that workers should refrain from ill conversations about others/beliefs in front of customers- especially as the business is being represented. read more

I am giving 3 stars because the store itself is pretty clean and decently stocked. The issue though is the customer service. Not all employees are bad here but one particularly extreme encounter I had really left a bad taste in my mouth. The cashier "Jessica T." according to my receipt- was very sarcastic and a smart a** for no reason at all. I understand that she probably didn't want to be there - but hey reality check most of us don't want to be at our jobs but it doesn't give anybody a right to be rude and condescending to customers who did nothing wrong. The weirdest thing to me is that her bad attitude was over a very simple question. I didn't realize that this location accepted apple pay/tap on your debit card because last few times I was here they did not have it, so I said aloud to my friend that I was surprised they have it now and the cashier rudely said "We've ALWAYS had that" and with this look in her eyes that was calling me stupid without any words being said. It's a shame because the older Indian man who manages the place is very nice so I hope he is alerted of this snotty woman's bad behavior... read more

A very clean and modern super market with most items available. Unless you are a Ralph's Club Member, the prices may be a little high on some items. I like that they have handy wipes for the carts outside available and the shopping carts seem to be all in fairly good shape. They have a bakery, deli and serve hot foods inside as well so a one stop shop. read more

I have been coming to this Ralph's for years! Since I was probably around 8 or so. It was always the store my parents shopped at, so naturally, I must continue the legacy and keep shopping here. They have pretty much everything I need, Compared to other grocery stores. Everything is easy to find. The store is always clean and free of clutter. The bathrooms aren't the best. They can be smelly and trashy. More bathroom cleaning needs to be done here. I love the huge selection of different cheeses. They have a nice fruit and veggie selection. Most of the produce is in excellent condition. Although, I have been here one time when all the tangerines looked horrible and rotten. I was a little bummed about that since i try and always buy them when I'm here. Ice cream selection is Bueno. I'm a huge fan of the m&m's ice cream cookie sammies, and they are reasonably priced compared to other stores around the area. The staff here has always been friendly and very helpful. I feel like I am treated like family. Well I guess it's also because some of the staff here has known me since I was a wee one. Decent grocery store in Torrance, but the prices and selection aren't as good as Vons or even the new Smart and Final Extra. Selection of fresh fruits and veggies isn't as good as these other grocery stores. Good thing is they give you fuel points that you can redeem (100 points for $0.10/gallon discount) at Shell Gas Stations. Good place to buy gift cards as many of them give double points. read more
