This is a story about how Bernard and RAM Products saved my life. I had desparately needed new tires and having a Harley Davidson as a primary vehicle; I could not risk riding another day. They have gotten to the point where a police officer pulled me over and had actually felt worried for me enough to not give me a fixing ticket, but to appoint me to the nearest Harley Davidson dealership. I had gotten a quote from San Jose HD for new front and rear tire replacement with service at approximately $1000. For a 2006 Sportster 883..? That seemed a little odd to me. So I rode for another month, stubbornly. I decided to go on craigslist to look for discount tires when I came across Bernards ad on Craigslist. It said open 7 days a week from 9-6 tire changes for $75! I rode my ass right on in on a monday afternoon. Door was locked so I walked through the garage. He was having lunch and put everything down to see what I had needed help with. I witnessed bikes coming in and out of that place all day, I was just lucky enough for him to have an open mount. He got my bike up right away and got to work. As he was working on my bike, I looked around at his quaint little shop and all the harley davidson history it held. Bernard: How old are you kid? Me: I just turned 20, why? Bernard: You love this thing don't you? Me: I moved out the house when I was 18 and shes been with me ever since..so yeah. Bernard: I was young once. I love these damn things so much Im still playing with them (harleys) Bernard is an honest, upfront and hardworking man. He won't beat around the bush. He'll tell you what needs to be fixed and what doesn't in a heartbeat if you don't already know. I had return a couple hours later for it to be finished. I had came back a little early to see if I could learn a thing or two. He was more than happy to share his knowledge, I felt very welcomed there. While finishing up, I had gone to the front counter to pay to find out that it was ONLY $450. Thats a lot better than the dealership... Tightening all the bolts and screws I noticed that my brake pads were different. I asked him about it and he showed me that my old ones were touching metal to metal with my rotor! He had gifted me some spares without the intention to even tell me. Me: Can I pay for those, how much are they? Bernard: Don't worry about it kid, I was young once too. This will keep you riding a little longer. Im riding til the end of days and if you are too then Bernard and RAM Products will keep you riding a little longer. Ride safe, ride hard. Since I got my 09' Harley Fat Bob a couple of months ago, I had been thinking about where to take the bike for service. I finally decided to give RAM a try for 5000-mile oil change to see if they are as good as I've read from Yelp reviews. I met both Mark who took down my bike's info and Bernard who worked on the bike. I had pleasant conversation with Mark in the office while Bernard worked on my bike. In less than 20 minutes Bernard finished the work and the final bill was reasonable. I like their no-nonsense way of doing business and when you walk in to their shop it feels like an old-fashioned motorcycle garage instead of dealership-run service center that is too business-like and no one is accountable. With RAM, I know who works on my bike (Bernard) and you are treated like their friend. Mark even emailed me the picture he took while I posed with my Fat Bob in front of their shop. A few weeks ago, I stopped and visited RAM for the first time on a referral. My 1980 Shovel had been having serious starting problems off and on for quite some time to the point whereby the bike had become totally unreliable by any standard. I met Bernard and Mark and explained the problem. In all my 40 years of riding, no shop or service writer ever asked me the questions Bernard asked. He wanted to know my history with the bike, how long I've owned it, where it was serviced in the past, what kind of parts have been changed and, in general, --he just wanted to glean as much information as possible to help solve and diagnose the problem. I was extremely impressed with the acumen of both Bernard and Mark in truly wanting to do their best to help me. In fact, my arrival may have been fortuitous because Bernard even offered (and had time) to follow me home with his shop truck and pick up the bike and then take it back to his shop. To my surprise, Bernard was able to fix the problem within 24 hours, perform an oil/filter change and solve an additional problem of low air pressure in the front tire because another shop had installed the tire tube incorrectly. Needless-to-say, Bernard and Mark have my fullest confidence not only in their expertise but in their integrity to treat people honestly, professionally and at a very fair price. Regardless of what year HD you ride, Bernard and Mark are THE guys you want to see and service your HD. In my view, RAM is the gold standard in customer service. read more

Got a full service done for my new Harley sportster within an hour. Pretty fast, impressive work and hey they gave me a free T as well.

Needed a transmission needle bearing for a 1977 Sportster. Not at SJ HD, Morgan Hill HD was "busy", Road Rider "can order". Bernard had it in stock. He also has boring and honing machines-- I will be using this shop in the future. When they moved from Monterrey Hwy, just a hundred feet back to Phelan, I thought they were gone, but they still soldier on, I am glad I checked Yelp and "re-found" RAM. read more

Worst shop in the bay area. Dropped of my bike for repairs and asked Bernard for estimate and all he ever said was "he will take care of me". I was NEVER given a quote. I told him to stop the repairs once he reaches $1,500. Conveniently he forgot about that conversation and exceeded my limit and wanted to charge me $3,600. During the repairs I NEVER once got a call from the shop to bring my up to speed with the repairs and cost. This guy will try to take advantage of you in any way he can. If you ever take your bike to this shop, be prepared to have your bike there for months and get over charged. Make sure any conversation that you have with Bernard is documented, dated, and signed by both parties cause he seems to forget what is convenient for him. Will never deal with this guy again, even if he is the last shop standing in California. read more

This shop is amazing, definitely very accommodating. I spoke with Mark about a possible header leak, and right away he made sure the shop could do everything they can to help me get my bike there. Luckily for me I live down the street off Monterey so it wasn't a far ride. I ended up having them check and make sure there was no leak, and to have my bike tuned. Bernard is an awesome guy, does honest and great work. It was a pleasure speaking with him and his employees. Ran over a screw on a weekend,and needed my bike to commute to work on Monday. Even though I ride a metric (sorry die hard purists), they were able to get me set up with a new front tire on a Sunday. Awesome. read more

This shop is awesome! I've been several times, and each time I've received exceptional service. Bernard is a great mechanic so professional. He takes great care of the motorcycle so clean and meticulous while working. Bernard even lets you watch while he's working if you so chose to. Or you can sit and watch tv on the big flat screen. The way Bernard and Mark treat you and your bike you would think the prices would be high, but no. They are very reasonable. I will definitely continue using this shop for future needs. read more

I truly appreciate anyone who loves what they do. The owners of RAM are exactly those people. The rates are competitive and workmanship is excellent. I met Bernard and Gloria on a Sunday night at 4:30. My son had a tire and brake issue with his road glide . The problem turned out to be worse than expected. Bernard would not let us leave until resolved. We were there until 7:30. First of all who is open on a Sunday night? Then willing to work on your bike until it was safe to ride. He could have really raked me over the coals on the bill. Let's just say we left knowing the bike was safe, workmanship excellent and the bill was much lower than expected. wanted to change my rk's bars from 23in apes to something a little more tour worthy, the dealers around here wanted a non refundable order that would take 3 to 7 days; I called ram and he had a used bar that I walked away with for a much better than dealer prices. Great place to bring your Harley :) I finally found a place that's not going to hand you a big bill for a little service. Their prices are reasonable :) I was referred to RAM by a friend of mine who met Joe on a weekend ride. I called Joe and told him what service I needed done, rear tire repair due to a finish nail in my tire, oil change, and my rear brake wasn't working. Bernard, who's awesome by the way, restored my Vrod back to perfect operating condition just in time for the beautiful weather!! His wife Gloria, who runs Leather & Lace MC, is a sweetheart and has sound advice for female riders. Joe is very helpful with his extensive maintenance knowledge and last but not least Mark, Semper Fi Devil Dog, tops off this place with his great customer service!! I give this shop and Bernard Negative 5 stars... the worsed bike shop in California. I had an insurance claim for my bike, I regret bringing to bernard. They were so helpful and eager to get my business and get my insurance money and then my bike sat in his shop for 5 months with out him doing any work to it. Wasn't til I had to keep bugging and bugging him to get it done. Then when he finally finished it, I was NOT happy with the crap he decided to put on my bike. I brought in a custom bike and he decided to put on a bunch of stock shitty parts im sure he had laying around his shop. Very dissapointed. And i know for a fact im not the only one who he has done this too. Besides this very disapointing experience, About a month ago my primary belt broke i had to walk my bike to his shop and see if he could fix it, and im sure it broke cause when he put it back together put it on backwards causing it to stretch and break. Be he wanted a rediculous amount to fix it. So i asked if he could just tow the bike to my shop and I'll have someone else fix it. So he agreed and im sure not happy about it but i dont trust my bike being worked on by him. So two days later he delivers my bike and i notice my speedo cable was broke and hanging by my front tire, and my tab from my kickstand broke off. and i asked him about it he told me it was already like that..... WTF I know when something is wrong or hanging from my bike and definately know when my speedometer isnt working. He denied and denied he did anything to it but from the time i left it there to when he dropped it off HE broke my bike and wasnt man enough to claim what he did. So after arguing with him and him LYING to my face I was done with Him and this shop! His wife offered to pay for what he broke and im sure she has had to do that alot!!! But NEVER BRING YOUR BIKE TO THIS SHOP ITS A RIP OFF.!!!! read more
