Thanks to Bernard for what was honestly the best service I could have imagined. The story goes like this: I brought my Harley to another shop for some work about a month ago. Mistake! After waiting for weeks, I got the bike back and it ran poorly. Embarrassingly so. Help was needed. I yelped around and found RAM. I brought the bike in yesterday a bit after 3:00pm...no appointment. Nothing. Bernard to the rescue! I was ready to leave my Harley for several days, but Bernard said that wasn't necessary...it would be ready tomorrow. Was called at 9:30am. Ready to go! If you're looking for above and beyond type customer service this is THE place. Bernard has been more than kind, helpful, and accommodating. There could've been a communication error on my part, but Bernard had accidentally mounted my tire backwards (road rider did not want to take it because I was running tube in a tubeless tire). Being a man of his word, he had cleared time to fix it for me (this time with the tire on the bike). I usually go to Sport Tech for my repair needs on my 75 CB550 but Bernard has my business for all tire mounting services. P.S. He's a LIAR! July 15, 2016 To all of those who thought the good old service days were gone, I found it. I owned an RV facility across the street from RAM and knew Bernard senior in the late 80's and he did my Harley service then. Well I sold my bike a few years later and moved my RV facility to Morgan Hill and not having a Harley, therefore not needing service, I forgot about Bernard and his business on Phelan. Well I own a Harley now and looked for some service and found RAM on Yelp and saw the great reviews and called them up today. The phone was answered immediately and I ask to have my Harley looked at for a complete fluid change and was invited to go down and they would do it while I waited, not bad I thought. I rode my Harley down and was greeted by Bernard Jr. and he asked me to fill out the form and took my bike in, put it on the rack and started working on it immediately while I watched and asked questions. Then Bernard senior came in and it was like old times, we talked about the old days and how life was now compared to then. Time are tough with customers wanting from RAM the same prices as the internet knowing the guys online have no overhead or experience. Finding this type of quality service is HARD TO FIND so I do not mind paying a little more for parts as it cost more to operate. Thanks to the Bernard team my Harley is running better than before and I believe that even if I did the work myself it would have cost more not knowing exactly what I was doing. I just wanted to let you everyone know that Bernard @ RAM was a lifesaver for me a few weeks ago. I had a flat and needed help asap. It was getting late sj harley had me on hold and then said they couldn't help me. Well I called RAM and spoke with Bernard and explained my situation. His response was I'm waiting on you... if your looking for an old school shop with fast service and good people than you need to come to check out RAM. i called the shop on Sunday morning with a with a screw in the back tire of my 05 Road glide and the guys said no problem bring it down and we will get it fixed while you wait and they did. Overall Bernard's shop is okay and I would suggest for older bikes, tires, or simple stuff it's a good place to go. It's also good for accessories or modification. I don't think newer bikes is his thing; on a newer bike it cost me way over originally quoted on the phone. I don't think the computer stuff was his expertise. He pays another guy to do newer bikes and I felt like I ended up paying about double because he had to pay this other guy also. I think next time I will just go to a dealer for my service. If you have an older carb bike, RAM would be fine. I do feel that Bernard's shop is honest and he is a good person. read more

Great family business, friendly, knowledgeable, and more than fair with pricing. I had problems with a tire purchased on the Internet (learned my lesson). Man, this place was a life saver. My front mount right foot peg had broken a bolt off inside the shaft. Harley San Jose wanted me to pay $$$ and wait 2 days to even look at it. I took my bike here at RAM and the owner took care of it while I waited. I will be coming here again for sure. read more

My husband and friend are working on his Harley wondering what the hell he paid $500+ on to get his bike in running condition. Things that were claimed to be done, weren't (oil filter looks older than dirt and was wrenched on, parts cleaned and gaskets changed, etc). We were not expecting miracles for that amount but at least do what you say you're going to do. read more

I was tired of getting different prices from dealership to dealership for a rear tire and installation. I found the price at RAM to be a little cheaper for the tire and much better for labor. Bernard noticed the rear brakes needed changing and showed me the pads when he took them off. Nice to see I really needed them. All together I paid less than the dealer with the brake pads included. I was fun to BS with Bernard as he was working on my bike. You don't get that at a dealership. I'll be back when I need more wore done! read more

Great people, good service and fair priced. Bernard brought my 80 Shovelhead back from the dead. He was very honest with me from the start. Told me maybe I should salesian bike and buy a new Dyna. I told him this bike was passed down to me and it has been off the road for 13 years. I couldn't sale it, but now I wish I did. Thought all it needed was a carburator... Sooo wrong. Bernard being the honest man he is, patiently told me that this bike was gonna be a project. Thought "project" meant in and out of the shop within 3 months but, 10 months later, I'm finally able to get it on the street again. That part sucks, not being able to find parts that worked on my bike or things getting back ordered. Bernard's great but he needs more manpower to handle the loads of work in his shop. My bike still has some issues, but that's because it wasn't taken care of by the previous owner. read more

My Victory Cross Country had chunked its old tires coming off a trip through Mines Rd. from Livermore, up Mt. Hamilton, and down to San Jose. I had already purchased a new set of Bridgestones but my old ones were so badly chewed I desperately needed the new ones mounted on a Sunday(!) as my bike is my primary ride. I just had the worst experience of my young life here. I AM GIVING YOU FAIR WARNING RIGHT NOW DO NOT GO HERE. Bernard is incredibly skilled, I will give home that. He is great with a Harley but they are sadly just lazy scammers. They had my bike for 2 weeks. 2 solid weeks and after paying them 1000 dollars for supplies I found out that, even though they knew full well how important it was to get my bike fixed asap, tje first part didnt even show up for 8 days. I don't care where you order your parts from anywhere in the US 8 days is ABSOLUTELY AND TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. Hi Ram Motorcycle Repair, I wanted to greatly thank you the work you did on my bagger yesterday! I had a rear tire change along with some adjustments which Bernard (Owner) did himself. Two of my friends from well knowed Bay Area bike clubs, which I have know each for 35 years, highly recommended them me. They said that Bernard treats you well and a first class job with NO RUN AROUND or bait and switch! I found that to be true. Growing up in an automotive machine shop myself I enjoyed watching a true professional at work. His shop is set up for just about anything! While I was there, I spoke with a rider that Bernard pumped up an 02 to a 130 and said it screamed.. he was VERY happy with it! As well, a few other top bikes there which he had built that were very impressive! His associate Mark in the parts department was very sharp and gave me much of his intelligent time. I rode from Walnut Creek and well worth the 60 mile ride! There are many shops in between but I will send him ALL m business as I was not only impressed watching him work, but found Bernard to be VERY knowledgeable!! He has a DYNO too so that is next for me... I HIGHLY recommend them to you as all went well for me! It says a lot with my, one visit, I would leave my bike there tomorrow for a full rebuild and have no worries... a great shop! I read only one bad review from someone which I personally did not think was fair to this professional shop. With all due respect, that story must have been written on that guys worst day and I am sure, as a business owner myself, there was MORE TO HIS STORY! Come on man in my 35 years of Harley ridding... a bike tied up for that long was either the bike owner did not have money for the parts, money for the labor, both, or delays from something other than Bernard's work?
