The bed was well made, the toiletries were refilled, everything you'd expect from a room. The red chair in the room was wobbly and squeaky, definitely in need of repair. Stayed two nights! Not worth the money! Unfortunately, this stay didn't meet expectations for the price we paid. The air conditioning wasn't working, making the room unbearably hot for most of our stay. Several things in the room felt uneven or poorly maintained -- nothing quite lined up right. The bed was broken, with a spring poking through that made it uncomfortable to sleep on. Most concerning, there was visible black mold in the bathroom, which is a serious health and safety issue that should have been addressed before renting out the room. The WiFi was fast and reliable, but that's a small positive compared to the maintenance and cleanliness problems we encountered. Overall, I can't recommend this hotel given the mold issue alone, let alone the broken bed and non-functioning AC. Management needs to address these problems. read more

Mine and friend in a different room at the other side of the property had our rooms played with. Mine had a shower curtain and used towels stuffed in the bed. Front desk said housekeeping never was in my room due to a short stay (2 nights). I demanded Key Logs as they're RFID, desk lady said they had them and the manager was coming in and they could email them to me. I went to my buddy's room to tell him, knocked on his door and he opened and says "dude, this is weird" and proceeded to show me Tissue that was stuffed into the INSIDE of his peephole. The Indian manager showed up, said they had no key logs and what no idea what we were talking about. Do not stay here. read more

Adjacent to the Monterey County Fairgrounds Everything was fine until we found out that this weekend was the California Roots Music & Art Festival at the Monterey County Fairgrounds. I learned that this is an annual event that featured several live performances by various artists across several musical genres. Had I known this prior to booking I would've chose elsewhere. I now know for future getaways in Monterey. The event started Thursday and lasted until Sunday (May 26 - 29, 2022). The fairgrounds was across the street from the backside of this inn and music can be heard super loud... actually, all we could hear was the bass guitar LoL. It would've been okay if we could make out the music. Furthermore, many of the guests and some artists this weekend booked here for the event so there were a lot of partying. Music played until 11:00p. That was our first evening, Friday. Parking was completely full. Saturday night was much better. Music from the fairgrounds played until 11:00p but the motel scene was much calmer... and quieter. -whew- By Sunday night the noise level was pleasantly quiet and we were able to enjoy the rest of our stay until our check out Monday morning. The room is spacious with two Queen-size bed. Non-smoking. Beds were comfy. I used our Wyndham Rewards points to get three free night's stay for a little weekend getaway in Monterey. We had to be picky on distance because of the gas prices. The inflation and crazy high gas prices had put a crimper on our summer travels. You feel me? After reading the reviews, I went ahead and booked a room here with some trepidation. Luckily, I had a really good experience with the hotel. The room was very clean and everything looked as advertised. I ran into zero roaches and I would definitely stay here again especially given the price point ($90 per night). Parking was plentiful and the staff was friendly. No breakfast is available but they give me a snack pack instead. The only drawback was the heater took a long time to kick in but it did eventually work. read more

We drive in from Dallas and prefer the motel type setting bc we like to have our car parked close to the room for unloading ease and the security. Extremely friendly staff. The location of this place could not be better. We were in Monteray for CaliRoots Reggae Festival and it literally felt like the festival was in our backyard. The back of the property is fenced off which is nice for privacy and security. The cool thing is they have a gate that you can walk through that literally puts you at the front gate of the fairgrounds. So for these reasons listed above is why we gave this hotel a 5 star rating. The actual room itself was clean and had good amenities. So we give the room a solid 3 stars. Never ending noise! First, when we check in there was a very loud even going on at the fair grounds nextdoor. We thought ok, surely they will stop soon by the evening or perhaps by 8pm. The loud event continued till almost midnight so we could not sleep! Then in the morning we were woken up by sound of an airplane landing. It sounded as if it would land in hotel parking lot. Turns out there is an airstrip nearby. Airplane continue to disturb our morning. Besides that it is is also close to freeway and a major road so noise really never stops. For $120/night for one Friday night on Labor Day weekend, the room exceeded my expectations. (Though I think other Yelpers expected a 4 Star luxury resort for this price level?) -Front desk guy was nice enough. -Room was modern and clean...but ask for a room in the back to avoid street noise. -Bed and pillows were comfy enough. -Fridge, microwave, coffee maker and a TV with a variety of channels. -Breakfast had good coffee and make it yourself waffles...F.U.C. YES!!! :D -Ample and free parking. Less than 5 min from the airport. - But you'll definitely need a car, or taxi/uber, to get around. I needed a place to stay in Monterey for the night while friend was visiting. I booked myself for the night at this hotel after doing lots of research. Oh man I should've trusted Yelp review. As I enter the room, it was clean. Looked older than expected but it was fine. I used the restroom as I arrived and water pressure was so low that it clogged. I had to ask for the plunger at front desk. And I was just relaxing on the bed and I saw something moving within my eye sight. It was of course a roach. I got so grossed out so I decided to check out at the middle of the night. They offered me another room but I declined. I mean what's the chance of other being infested. They said they will give me a refund but they said I have to call Expedia. I called Expedia the next day and they said the hotel has to process the refund so they need to talk to the manager of the hotel. My family and I just spent the last 5 days and 4 nights here. We had a very positive experience. This hotel is close to absolutely everything. It's very convenient. There is an airport very close to the hotel so you will hear the planes but it didn't bother us while we were sleeping. The hotel offers a free breakfast in the morning from 7-10am. I would recommend going early because it gets very busy the later it gets. When we arrived we had to wait 10 minutes after check in for our room to be ready. The rooms are updated and have a refrigerator, microwave and coffeemaker. The refrigerator was an okay size. We could hear the people above us but that will happen in hotels. We used the pool and hot tub everyday. It was very clean. It wasn't to big but it worked for us. All of the employees were very nice and very helpful. I would stay here again. read more

Hotel check-in was easy, I checked in late, but with a reservation it was quick. Room had 2 queen beds, microwave, mini fridge, etc. The reason I am giving three stars is because the room was dirty, including the bathroom. Many bugs, including a cockroach. - ew. For the price, this was a fantastic stay. The rooms were clean and well appointed, the pool/hot tub were convenient, and the staff were super nice from start to finish. Even the continental breakfast was pretty good. The second time he came to the room and said there was nothing they could do and if I check out they can refund me because all the rooms are full. Nowhere to go and I had to drive back to LA in the morning. So every 15 minutes we had to listen to the toilet run along with the noise from the next door neighbors. My boyfriend and I were visiting Monterey on a surprise weekend trip and he booked a room at Ramada. The room was clean and everything was as it should be. The two big things were the pillows on the bed and the breakfast in the morning. The pillows were so bad and lumpy, give me a headache to morning and my neck was killing me. The room comes with a continental breakfast, which I expected a little more. I am not saving for it to be delivered via room service, but i would have like the have some protein in my mean. There was coffee, tea and juice. With bagels and toast, and I did not go for the waffles, cause I am not sure about waffle mix from a bag. I do not know the price, as my boyfriend paid, but I would suggest the hotel managers put some though into getting better pillows and food. read more

Super friendly couple (not sure of the difference owners/operators/managers) but they were great, easy check in and out. CLEAN room, updated recently, they came up up with new remote for TV within seconds of me calling the front desk. We are not satisfied with the service provided by Ramada by Wyndham hotel in Monterey. We lost our Sony Video Camcorder after staying at the hotel on January 24th, 2020. At around 8:30 am the following day, I noticed my video camera was missing after checking out at around 8:30 am. My daughter called the hotel immediately at around 8:30 am and requested that the hotel sends somebody to check my room (number 125). We did not hear back from the hotel and at around 10:30 am, my daughter called the hotel again to inquire about the status of the camera. My daughter was told that the hotel was going to send somebody to check the room. My daughter called the hotel again later in the afternoon that day (January 25) and was told that housekeeping did not find anything in the room. At my daughter's insistence, the hotel told her that they are going to check again. The following morning (January 26), my husband called the hotel for a status. He was told that no lost item was returned to the hotel. My husband then requested that the hotel start an investigation of the lost item. The receptionist told him that the hotel manager was absent and to call back on Monday (January 27). On Monday, January 27, my husband called the hotel to speak with the manager. The manager was absent and the receptionist told him that he will check with housekeeping. On Tuesday, January 28, my husband called the hotel again to speak with the manager. The manager told him that he personally went to check the room on Saturday, January 25 at around 11:00 am and that he did not find anything. The manager's statement seems to be in contradiction to what my daughter was told on Saturday, January 25. It appears there was no investigation. We had to chase around and called them each time for four consecutive days, although on several occasions Ramada said they will call us back. read more
