I cannot recommend Dr. Kamrava enough. He is kind and very gentle. He was recommended to me by a girlfriend. He told me to hold off on getting a root canal and he was right! I have very sensitive teeth. And after getting a filling from my regular doctor my tooth was bothering me. Dr. Kamrava said he would hold off and see what is happening with the sensitivity. I did and it went away. If the sensitivity comes back, he is the only doctor I will see! read more

All I can say is WOW!!! What an amazing doctor. After 3 failed surgeries by another endodontist and other people not being able to figure out my pain source, Dr. Kamrava found my pain source in less than 10 minutes. He is very friendly, informative, and calm. I went in for my root canal 2 days after my consult. I went to this dentist for a root canal several years ago. Since then, I had a second root canal done with a different dentist. The first thing the Second dentist did was complement Dr. K's root canal treatment. I've had a lifelong fear of the dentist, but Dr. K was the first step to allowing me to feel comfortable in the dentist chair. I've read some of the negative reviews that have been left for him, and none of them appear to be a reflection of his performance, but rather something unrelated, such as the price. Horrible experience! I have multiple sclerosis Parkinson's disease and cancer. Have been a patient of doctors Kamrava for many years. He used to be good. Now, stay away from this office. I was diagnosed with a root canal and during diagnosis this dr made a tooth much worse for four days and went away on vacation! I was sent to a 70 something year old dentist who covered for him far away from him who said this was not the tooth dr Kamrava said he was going to do the root canal on it was a different tooth and sent me to another dentist all costing a fortune in X-rays and paperwork! Misdiagnosis pain and lack of proper follow up care! Stay away from this office now! Am 88 and didn't need this aggregating n with my health problems. My dentist of 25 years Marc Cohen of Encino is the best and honest. To top it off I got two other opinions one from the dr dr Kamrava sent me to while he was on vacation and one from Valkey Endodontists ausc dental group! I never needed the root canal in the tooth dr Kamravamade an appointment for after valley endodontists did a400.00 scan! Dr Kamrava misdiagnosed me! I had such an excellent experience with Dr. Kamrava and his staff. I called due to pain in my gums that was radiating into my jaw and ear. I know how quickly these things can escalate and how bad the pain can become. When I called the office, they fit me in the next morning! I arrived a few minutes early, but instead of being asked to be seated in the waiting area, I was immediately placed into the examination room. Within 5 minutes of my actual appointment time, Dr. Kamrava was in the room! He evaluated my situation, answered all my questions, and advised that I needed a root canal. I was expecting to have to make a follow up appointment for another day, but he said he could do it right on the spot! Amazing! The procedure went well. I have had root canals before and was fully expecting to experience pain and throbbing once the local anesthetic wore off. To my surprise, that evening I had very little discomfort. I never had a root canal before and I was scared. I have to tell you.......it was absolutely painless......I was LITERALLY falling asleep while Dr. Kamrava was working on me....I am totally serious about this!! I can actually say that it was a pleasant experience. Dr. Kamrava could not have been more wonderful. He is skilled, kind and was always checking in on me during the procedure. I had an emergency root canal which was the worst dental experience I've ever had. After having a boating accident that broke the majority of my teeth, I've had years of dental work so I know more than enough about most procedures. They are never pleasant but it can be a horrible ordeal if there is a problem and more so if your dentist doesn't exhibit both skill sets, book knowledge and the unwritten one, how to comfort the patient. I had a prior consult on another tooth earlier this year but ended up having an implant. He didn't have a friendly disposition to begin with but I am paying for his expertise, especially if something goes wrong which unfortunately did. He spent a few minutes going over my x rays which he could of gotten from my dentist that I went to a couple of hours earlier, an unnecessary cost. From the beginning, it all felt rushed, he couldn't really see anything which seemed odd since my dentist had. He taped the painful tooth which had a previous root canal and said ok, you need a root canal, it will cost $2100. After the drilling was finally done he used bleach for the disinfecting stage and some of it leaked through the latex barrier. My throat was immediately on fire and felt like it was closing up and couldn't breathe. He saw my distress but kept on working. He finally said "do you want me to stop?" Do you really have to ask that if your patient is having difficulty breathing and wincing? He complained that he would have to take everything off, put it back and start all over in an agitated tone. I motioned that I needed a break so he took off the latex barrier and said to drink water to neutralize the bleach. He clearly was annoyed and admitted it didn't happen often but I should feel better in a few days. This disinfecting process alone takes 8 minutes which seems like an eternity along with the two hours of misery. He certainly didn't have a gentle touch and again, it felt rushed with no concern for my comfort. The nurse and him seemed to lack good communication, she barely said a word and they left me alone several times while waiting for the irritation to subside since the tooth had required a lot of work. I was in a lot of pain and trying to swallow while feeling smothered in a sheet of latex, every minute feels like an hour. He said to "calm down" in a patronizing way, is anyone calm getting a root canal let alone having bleach down your throat? It was very frightening and he was running out of the room every chance he could. I told him how I felt but said he internalizes his patients anxiety and needs to take a breath so he can remain calm yet was singing to the country music playin. Honestly, I don't want to hear you sing when my throat is on fire. I literally had tears in my eyes. I've had 6 root canals and yes, they are painful but have never had my throat burned with bleach. While I was paying the bill, he got his bag of food and literally dashed in the back to avoid me. I needed antibiotics and asked the receptionist if she could call it in so I could just go home and wait there. She reluctantly said yes, but called me in the car to say she was on hold for 10 minutes and couldn't do it. My regular dentist and staff are exactly what you hope for, every appointment for the last 4 years has been a pleasure and that's high praise considering you don't associate those two words together! Dr. Kamrava' s office is a perfect example of what you don't want! No one likes going to the dentist but it doesn't need to be a traumatic experience you won't ever forget! read more

Dr. Kamrava and his staff are amazing. My 6 year old daughter fell and hurt an adult tooth pretty badly. When he realized she needed to have a procedure asap but he was leaving town, he called several dentists himself to try and get us in somewhere. I'm a brand new patient of Dr. Kamrava. Dr. Kamrava performed a root canal procedure on one of my teeth last week. His "bedside manner" is excellent. His work was excellent; he is an expert. Also, the state of the art dental equipment in his office is impressive. Other than a very slight pinch when he injected the two shots of novocaine, the procedure was painless (except, of course, having to hold my mouth wide open intermittently for 45 minutes... lol). Dr. Kamrava was amazing! And his staff is stellar! I was referred to Dr. Kamrava for a root canal by my dentist Dr. Paul O'Malley who is also awesome. Look, no one wants a root canal, but if you have to get one, Dr. Kamrava is your guy. He uses state of the art equipment and procedures including Gentle Wave which removes bacteria that can hide in the tooth that has been compromised by an infection. Leaving that bacteria in there can be very detrimental to your health. Using this procedure puts Dr. Kamrava on the cutting edge of his field. Don't trust your root canal to someone who doesn't do Gentle Wave. Also, he's just a great guy. I'm super nervous about going to dentists. The anxiety level can be frightening but he put me at ease and was very kind. He gets right to the work in an efficient and timely manner so as to diminish my anxiety. I am sitting her not quite 8 hours after the dreaded root canal that every one fears. I am one of those fortunate people who has not needed much in the way of dental work and when my dentist said I had to go TODAY I went fearing a long drawn out recovery. The office was clean and modern. The equipment looked state of the art. As a photographer the word Zeiss is top of the line and what really counts in my opinion is the skill of the service provider. Since I trust my own dentist of 15 or more years to send me to the best, i was not worried I would get anything less. I was injected with novocaine and that was the worst part of the procedure. It was a few hours before the numbness went away; And I am still shaking my head that it was nothing like everyone told me it would be. It was pain free. I am pain free. I even was so comfortable that I napped for a few minutes when he went to check on another patient. Everything was explained as it was done. And I enjoyed the country western music today it was happy music. I hope that I never need another procedure but if I did this is where I would insist on going. very impressive, Dr. Kamrava. very impressive... i went into my first root canal with a lot of anxiety. i mention root canal to people and their faces look like they just heard that your dog died. you see facebook posts about how horrible it's going to be. how horrible you're going to feel. sympathy responses abound. i felt absolutely no discomfort during the entire procedure. wait, that's a lie. i had to pee really bad the last half hour. that was uncomfortable. warning, make sure to go before you get in the chair! it lasts over an hour. Dr. Kamrava made sure to tell me exactly what he was planning on doing, what the possible complications may be (no matter how rare), and was extremely patient and kind during all my questioning. during the actual procedure he would sometimes sing along softly to the music playing, which might make some of you folk uncomfortable, but to me it was relaxing. relieved some of the tension. he and his staff are SUPER nice. and not sugary sweet/fake nice like a lot of doctor's office staff are. overall wonderful experience! is it so weird that i'm so happy post root canal? i'm so glad it didn't hurt! read more

I've had 2 root canals and both were done by Dr. Kamrava. I'm a bit of a puss when it comes to my teeth, I've had dentists shrug off my discomfort in the past, and I've heard horror stories about root canals from other people. I was plenty worked up going into the procedures. Dr. Kamrava's most excellent injection technique and constant awareness of what I could and couldn't feel made both root canals a pain free process. If I ever had any discomfort (and I mean discomfort - I could feel something slightly uncomfortable, but way before I'd classify it as "pain"), Doc stopped what he was doing to deal with it. My most recent root canal was done three days ago, and the roots on my tooth take a nearly 90 degree turn towards the back of my head. The tooth was also irritated from being messed up for about a year and a half, so there was a great opportunity for pain. Doc K made sure there was none. He is single-handedly destroying the idiom about root canals - there's now a long list of things I'd rather have a root canal than do, provided he's the one doing the work. read more

Simply put, Dr Kamrava is one of the best doctors I've ever been to. My first meeting with him was for a consultation where he made me feel very comfortable. I scheduled my root canal for almost a week later and I was definitely nervous going into it. The experience itself was less painful than a filling I had a month prior and the most painful part was keeping my jaw open for an hour. Dr Kamrava walked me through every step of the process to make sure that I knew what to expect. His approach is professional and his work was seamless. I was out for lunch 2 hours after the procedure and haven't needed to take any pain medication since. To top it off I received a follow up call from JD the next morning to make sure that I wasn't in any pain. Wouldn't recommend anyone for a root canal other than Dr Kamrava. read more

I needed a root canal and having never had one, I was very worried about experiencing any pain during the surgery. I remembered this doctor from my last root canal in 2006 and he left such a positive impression on me even back then that he is the only Endodontist I would go to. Everything about the experience puts Dr. Kamrava in a league above all the rest. From admitting to surgery to follow up, he was top notch.
