I was at Great Wolf Lodge this Memorial Day Weekend and the group needed food after a full day of swimming and a need for asian eats. It was around 7:45pm when we discussed dinner and Ramen 101 came up as a recommemdation. We'd all been to one in different cities, so quickly agreed. By the time I searched the location, I had conflicting closing times, 11pm, 9pm, and 830pm. With urgency we put in an online order and had got a confirmation by 8:03pm. The text said it would take 15 mins, so we headed over. We arrived around 8:23pm and confirmed they closed at 9pm and as we walked inside I noted the space was much smaller than other locations, but was full on the Memorial Day Monday. Another group behind us, walked in to be seated and the staff were happy to do so. As we walked up to the counter they greeted us and told us to-go forks, spoons, chopsticks, and containers were to the left. We had to ask for soy sauce and napkins. Because we ordered so quickly, we did not edit and ended up with a big order of 5 meals and 6 apps and a side of rice, with tax and tip was under $153, which fed 4 adults & 3 kids between 3-12. The portions were huge, especially the karage. We ate to the point of being full and decided the leftovers would be breakfast. Black garlic ramen was good, egg perfectly cooked, pork was tender and yummy, broth after fully stiring from togo container was excellent, a bit too much ramen noodles for me tho. The short-ribs were really tasty and so were gyoza that it came with, but was not served with mac salad. They used softer tofu for agadashi, so that was unexpected (would not order again from here). The chicken karaage batter was on the sweet side similar to corndog batter, also unexpected and not favored, but with plain rice was decent, kids enjoyed. Wonton ragoons had a nice amount of filling. Spam Wusubi was enjoyed. My rating of 4 stars is overall experience. 5 stars for service and commitment to fill this order ready for pick-up. Food flavor was overall 3.5 compared to other locations. But portions were a 4! Good in a pinch if you want something close and outside of GWL pizza and burger eats.

Finally came here for dinner small little spot can get pretty busy, parking can be a challenge but is worth the wait, bento box with some ramen was so tasty and fulfilling, service was good love the self serve to go containers.

Who's a fan? Me! I'm a fan. I've been craving ramen for such a long time and normally I order beef. Since this place didn't have beef I went with chicken and it blew me away. Not only was the soup flavorful but the chicken was seasoned itself. 10/10

A tiny little ramen joint that serves up great ramen! At Ramen 101, you order at the counter and then find a seat. The employees were very helpful and efficient with clearing tables because this place was poppin! My husband and I both got the tonkostsu ramen and it was delish! The flavor of the broth and the goodies inside made it very enjoyable. I would definitely come back and try other ramens here!

People are very friendly here. She was incredibly helpful of finding us a table. Small store so limited seating around. We ordered 2 servings of gyoza, one ramen (mild), and one teriyaki beef bento box. Food was always served fast. My bento box flavor was great and came with a giant serving of rice. I appreciate the veggies. Super healthy to balance off the beef. Mild ramen was on the spicy side. Gyoza turns out to be deep fried. But flavors were good. I enjoyed them. Would love coming back again.

Oh wow. I am shocked at the service we just received here. We are regular customers of the Modesto location and were on our way back from the Bay Area and decided to stop by this location due to the fact that we would not make it in time before closing to the Modesto location. We arrived and the cashier who said her name is Fiona very aggressively yelled when my husband scooted a table to join another table, I would say maybe a foot distance.. if that. She yelled "don't move my tables!!" I was at the register and had already started to order when this happened. The table was already moved and she continued to yell. She said "you don't come into MY restaurant and move MY tables!" At this point the two tables dining in the restaurant were all looking at us and also shocked at the attitude of said employee. I have never been literally yelled at anywhere I have dined. It was distasteful and very rude. It took everything in me to not yell back. I very politely said "wow, the yelling is uncalled for" and asked her to cancel the order. I refuse to support a business with an employee who thinks it's ok to yell at customers. If it is "her" restaurant as she claimed then this woman knows nothing about customer service. I used to work in the restaurant industry for 10+ years and I'm absolutely flabbergasted at this behavior. She was not pleasant in any way. And if I was an owner I would think twice about having her as an employee. There's a certain way of going about these type of situations and she handled it in the worst way. The restaurant would be closing in 30 minutes and my bet is she was probably annoyed that we came in last minute before closing and that was the reason she was in such a bad mood. Or could it possibly be racism? We are Mexican and on our way out another table mentioned to us that they also were treated poorly by the same employee. They were also Mexican. They mentioned she had made them get up and move to a different table after already sitting and she was also very rude in the way she spoke to them. We felt belittled and almost embarrassed at being treated this way. I would love a follow through regarding this situation. If a manager or owner can please reach out to me that would be greatly appreciated. If you have a camera system I would like you to review it so you can see this nasty behavior for yourself.

First time lunchtime. I was greeted with a friendly smiling young lady in the cashier. Very pleasant and accommodating. I ordered miso ramen and ebi tempura. Let's detail my experience: The miso soup is so good. The ramen noodles in my order need to be cooked alittle more, it's abit tough when I'm eating and biting on it. The ebi tempura was ok.. I'm expecting maybe a different batter, where the batter is more light and crunchy. The tempura dip sauce has a salty taste, maybe need more attention when putting the seasoning. Over all food wise it's ok. The ambiance is nice, clean place and I like the decor, especially the cat framed decor.

I went here with the 81 year old and the 77 year old. She kept referring to it as Top Ramen 101. I wasn't enthusiastic about it--I'm Japanese--until I saw the Unagi Donburi, since I love eel. I was not enthusiastic that they didn't have Ma Po Ramen, as you'd find in Japan. It's between Starbucks and Jamba Juice, which is a good location for something trendy. Ordering at the counter seems reasonable considering their target age group. It wasn't inconvenient. I knew what I wanted but the other two did not, and they'd already been there once. We ordered Tonkatsu Ramen for one and the Chicken/Beef Bento Box for the other. I later ordered the 7 piece gyoza separately because I dislike making my own. My thumbs are still cramped from the last time. For drinks, I got the same KSF Black Tea with Lemon that I order from 99 Ranch Market and they got White Peach sparkling water. The eel arrived first. It didn't look like what I was hoping. The ramen and the bento box arrived and looked good. I felt better when the gyoza arrived. The food was okay. The gyoza was better than the eel but the eel was okay. There is a reason I used to drive 30 miles from home around Philadelphia to a restaurant run by Japanese to get eel. Service was friendly and they checked on us a couple of times. I knew going there that it wasn't going to be what I wanted and I tried to prepare myself. Having friendly workers helped the experience.

Hubby and I were at Old Navy in the shopping center and asked the cashier where was a good spot to eat. Didn't know there was a Ramen 101 location nearby this whole time! Yeah it's a chain but their ramen is pretty good and at a reasonable price. Food came out quick, yummy bowl of comforting ramen. Yeah it was hot this day but we didn't care. We wanted ramen! Will get the spicy option next time bc my mild was for a child. Karaage and agadashi tofu were good too. Didnt finish and took food to-go. Seating is limited inside.

It's small inside. I felt like I was in the way of everyone because I had a car seat. Besides that mental note. It was very delicious. The girls in front were sweet and polite. I could have that broth every day and never grow tired. Great texture on the noodles. Courteous staff and nice ascetics in the room. It's on the pricier side for ramen but it is for sure a worthwhile treat! I need to ask for the spiciest level of heat next time too! read more

I tried the black garlic ramen and it was really good. I chose the "mild" spice level and it was really flavorful. Next time I'll get it even spicier. My girlfriend got a bento box and she said it was really good too. The staff were really friendly. The restaurant is very nice from the inside. It's a little small but it's a great place for a bite. Service was average at best. Ramen is very disappointing. Literally would eat store bought packaged ramen over this. Lacks flavor and depth in every way from the broth to what's added. Ramen 101 is like the McDonald's of ramen but on a bad day. Don't recommend this place to anyone. If you have any sense of taste you'll regret eating here. read more

Oh, this place is wonderful. Service is great, people smile here its a hidden gem! Nice small atmosphere. The food is great.! Probably the only ramen place in the vicinity but also great service and clean/relaxing vibes. Not a lot of seating but the food is quick and turn around is fast. I saw lots of food delivery pick ups, so that's probably the reason. I've had 3 waiters on 3 separate occasions and all of them have been super sweet and accommodating. Food was really good, the teriyaki beef bento box is my favorite I've had anywhere. The beef was soft and a good size portion with rice and veggies. The tonkatsu ramen broth was flavorful and the bowl was packed with stuff. The egg was cooked perfectly! The chicken karaage got mixed reviews from my family, but I liked it and it was crispy. I wish they had more than just a fridge of cans/bottles for drink options, but standard water is always fine. No complaints really, but it would just be nice. Definitely will come back! read more

Who is consistent and very good Ramen for our area. I always get the tongue go to Ramen with extra meat. Did you know that you can ask them to grill the meat more which makes it more crispy? They will do it only when you order there but this is a great little place to come for lunch. read more

My friend and I came here it was really good. It was my first time. She told me really good. The only thing I didn't like it was really small space I wish it was bigger because when we went it was really busy. I really enjoyed the chicken ramen. The portions are really big. Service was good the gal behind the counter was friendly and accommodating , since my daughter doesn't eat all the veggies and fish cakes. She told us to get everything on the side to avoid an up charge of a custom bowl BUT the place is too small, I hope they relocate to a bigger suite so more people can dine in. This was our second time there and we had to get our food to go. the food quality is good tasting and quality for the price. read more

It's really good! The black garlic ramen is really great if you want a super garlicky. Tonkatsu and miso are my faves. I always add an extra egg (very flavorful). I hate sprouts, I feel it can overpower the taste that's my personal preference so I'll ask for it on the side, and without it, it's even better!! Also ordered chicken karaage, great just wish they gave more dipping sauce. Seating is difficult but they have a wait list as the location is small and doesn't help if a party of 11 shows up and takes over the entire place, not the restaurants fault, so I take it to go. Food was still extremely hot when I got home. Highly recommend read more

Good service, but food was not. Order a plain miso for my younger boys (they LOVE miso) they took two bits of this and refused to eat any more. I tasted it and agreed it was awful. Also order the seafood ramen, the black garlic ramen, a teriyaki beef bento box and some vegetable tempura. The beef was way over cooked. Slightly burnt. The tempura was disgusting. Maybe they need to change the oil. They were dripping in with grease. I would say out of everything the best was the black garlic ramen. Paid $74 for food that was mostly tossed in the trash. read more

Best (and only) ramen spot in Manteca! The service was friendly from the moment I walked in, I walked up to the counter and asked what the cashier's favorite dish was as a recommendation and he suggested I get the black garlic ramen and of course I had to get it spicy just to feel something (there is an option of extra spicy), but honestly the spice level was minor so if you're looking for something to melt your mouth off then this probably isn't the place, but that doesn't matter because the ramen itself was delicious! From the complexity of flavors, the creaminess and oily essence of the broth that coats the taste buds, the umami from the black garlic, to the fattiness of the pork, and the bite of the bamboo shoots this ramen was a harmony of flavors in a bowl. Simply put, I enjoyed my meal. As far as the interior of the restaurant, it's a nice cozy little spot to grab a bowl of ramen and a cold beverage (guava nectar for me please). I'd recommend and will definitely come here with a regular cadence. read more

Hawaiian Ramen? How is it different from Japanese Ramen or Saimin? We thought the broth didn't have flavors. Gyoza and takoyaki were deep fried and both taste different from what we expected. But we appreciate the food as we were too tired of hamburgers while staying at Great wolf lodge. read more

First time at this location. Smaller then I anticipated but it was nice and clean. My son ordered the letter D ramen. pork rib. Was good and flavorful. I got crab Rangoons, lumpias and pot stickers . All had great flavors and can tell made to order. Will return when back in the area. read more

Food was good, but extremely RUDE old lady working the counter after 2 minutes of receiving our food kept coming back every 3 minutes asking if everything is ok. Kept asking if she can take the soup bowl away, just because it's lunchtime she wants patrons to consume the food in less than 10 minutes and leave the restaurant. She only does it to the Filipino customers only. Because she knows she can't rush the white people or they'll pour the hot soup in her face if she rushes them. What a freaking stupid experience. I hope this place goes out of business. read more

Staff gets all the stars as they were super nice and very accommodating and stayed calm and cool even tho it was very busy. The establishment is extremely small. You're likely going to need to take out but ramen isn't really a to go kind of food. Food itself, wasn't horrible but all I can say is "meh". read more

Best gyoza we have EVER had! I ordered via telephone and the girl who took my order was quick and helpful. We have several food allergies in my family, so ordering is specific to eliminate any chance of my daughters having a reaction. Our family is more than grateful when we can count on the attention to detail there. The karaage chicken was delicious and my husband loved it. The teriyaki orders and short ribs, tasty. I did not love my chicken ramen as it tasted as if the chicken flavor did not complement the ramen broth but it was good enough and I feel the same way about the musubi. There just isn't much teriyaki sauce between the spam and rice and lacks that tang you get when you pick up at the stores in Hawaii. The musubi from ABC store was much better even eaten cold. The vegetable tempura , however, was also amazing in flavor. Despite a few let downs, I would completely go back again and I highly recommend Ramen 101 based on the other dishes we had. In fact, I'd go pick some up tonight just to satisfy the gyoza craving I now can't shake. So good! read more

A Japanese-inspired restaurant located conveniently off Highway 120. While I had a generally positive experience, there were some areas where the restaurant could have improved. Food - Tonkatsu Ramen 3/5 I found the broth to be lacking in depth and complexity, and the noodles were a bit overcooked for my liking. Eggs were definitely overcooked too. However, I must say that the other toppings were fresh and flavorful, and the portion size was quite generous. - Chicken Karaage 2/5 I noticed that the proportions of breading to meat were a little uneven, with more breading than meat. Additionally, the dish was overcooked, resulting in the meat being somewhat dry on the inside. - Takoyaki 4/5 I deducted one point because some of the balls were crispier than others. However, among the ones that were good, the texture was perfect. They were crispy on the outside yet soft and fluffy on the inside. Experience: A restaurant with a nice atmosphere, although it was a bit small. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating, which made the experience even more enjoyable. We arrived during dinner time on a Sunday and were pleased to receive our food in about 10 minutes, which was impressively speedy. I tried the veggie ramen and veggie tempura at Ramen 101 in Manteca and both were so good! The broth was flavorful, the noodles had that perfect bite, and the tempura was crispy without feeling too heavy. You can tell everything was fresh and made with care. The only downside is the restaurant itself -- it's pretty small and space is limited, especially if you're going during a busy time. But overall, I had a great experience. I came here with my kid, but honestly, this place isn't very kid-friendly. It's quite small inside--probably more suitable for someone grabbing a quick bite alone or with a friend. The ramen itself was decent, no complaints there. But I also ordered two appetizers, and to be honest, they were forgettable. One of them was the squid (I think it was squid rings), and it was really tough--chewy like rubber. Ramen 101 is a great chain spot for ramen with a variety of soup options from mild to hot. But honestly, the star of the show for me is their hot food--especially the chicken teriyaki. The portion size is huge! I've seen more people order that than the ramen itself, and after trying it, I get why. I couldn't even finish mine and had to take the rest home. If you're in the Manteca area and not in the mood for fast food, this is a solid go-to to get your fix. Good food, great portions, and a nice change of pace. Highly recommend! read more
