    Chicken Katsu Curry
    Cameron B.

We come pretty often, but just wanted to share that I finally tried something new (Chicken Katsu) and it was exceptional as usual. I might have to start alternating it with my usual order of bulgogi gimbap. It was light and crunchy but the chicken was tender and moist, paired perfectly along with the curry. As always, the fried green beans are so good, make sure you get them.

Great find through Yelp in between work meetings. Small, casual restaurant that is a little tricky to find. You order at the counter for take-out or dining in. I saw a picture of the chicken katsu curry in Yelp and knew I had to try it. The staff person who helped me was incredibly sweet. The food was great. It was flavorful and priced well for the portion of food you received. The katsu had a great crunch but I wished that the chicken was meatier. I enjoyed the side of curry but not the cabbage salad. The salad was too sweet and doused in dressing. I would go back if I was in the area again.

My experience here was amazing. We came as a group of 6 on a Wednesday for lunch when they opened at 11am. Front lady was very friendly amd made sure we were doing good. We got seated right away with menus and was directed to order at cashier once ready. The food came out within 10 minutes. Everyone enjoyed their meals and praised how tasty it was. I ordered the Bulgogi Cupbap, which came with a side of kimchi and miso soup if you dine in. It was so yummy and just the right portion for me. The sauce on top of the bulgogi made this dish even better. I will definitely come back and try their other dishes.

Chicken Katsu Curry - best I've had.

10/10. Best food I've had in Sacramento to date. Best chicken katsu I've ever had anywhere, and ditto for the beef bibimpap. My only regret about this restaurant is that I do not live in Sacramento. If I did, I would be a regular.

We moved to Rancho Cordova last year and have been wanting to try this Korean restaurant. It was hopping today with K-Pop music in the background and most of the tables being taken. Great selection of food, and it was so tasty. I had the chicken katsu with nigiri sushi. We also had the Bibimbap which was enough for 2-3 meals. Teriyaki chicken was accompanied by Cole slaw style salad and rice. We will definitely be back to try other food items.

    We finished only kimbab

Worst Korean food ever. I ordered chikenkatsu, dakganjeong(fried chicken), kimbab, tteokbboiki(rice cake), paid $90 includes tip, but nothing was above minimum standard of Korean tastes. Maybe they fried Chickenkatsu after they sliced, it had too much oily taste. Fried chicken was too sour, as a Korean I never tasted that kind of sauce. tteobboki was no flavor except just red pepper and MSG. At least the owner should search YouTube recipe. I even feel a shame as a Korean Yelp review is not reliable any more.

My friends and I finally got to try Seoul 1979. Heads up, they close on Tuesdays ): They have classic Korean street foods, Gimbap, katsu, curry, sushi, appetizers, and more! Here's what we tried and my rating of them: Seoul 1979 Gimbap (9/10) Fire Pork Gimbap (10/10) Teokkbokki (10/10) Sotteok-Sotteok (8/10) Chicken Katsu with curry (10/10) Pork Katsu with Curry (9/10) The Seoul 1979 Gimbap has fish ham, pickle radish, cucumber, carrot, burdock, and egg. The Fire Pork Gimbap has spicy pork, pickle radish, cucumber, carrot, burdock, and egg. The Teokbokki has rice cake, fish cake, cabbage, green onion, and a boiled egg. The Sotteok-Sotteok is a skewered treat with sausage and crispy rice cake alternating with a few sauces. The chicken katsu was perfectly fried, nicely crispy, with the chicken being tender and juicy. The pork katsu was also perfectly fried and crispy. The curries came with the katsu plates and was delicious. Everything was really good and service was friendly. It's a small shop with about 6 tables that can seat 4 people at each. Cozy vibes, simple and aesthetic decor, and really yummy food.

Spent the weekend at Gold River for a tennis match. Came here for a quick bite before heading home. Hubs found this hidden on Yelp. Arrived soon after they opened with one group there. Soon filling up by the time we ordered. The restaurant is nice and cozy, manned by a nice lady running the show. From greeting guests, the taking orders, running food from out of the kitchen, all with a smile. I love kimbap it's one of my favorite snacks. They also have cupbap which is without seaweed. All the same ingredients but in a bowl. Orders the tuna kimbap and bulgogi cupbap. Both fresh and tasty. Chicken curry cutlet. Crispy batter. Yummy katsu sauce with a side of curry and coleslaw. Love that dressing. Ttbeokki was not too spicy. Came on in a metal gold pot. Looved the fresh hard boiled egg and fish cake. Smaller Rice cake was nice and chewy We were in and out there in less than an hour feeling satisfied and full that we didn't eat dinner until much later. Too bad I was too full otherwise I'd tried the hotteok, another fav of mine.

Lovely little hole in the wall Korean food spot in Rancho. They sell both street style food and full on meals. The prices are very fair and the service is great too. Highly recommend them. They do close at 2:30 for a break before dinner according to their schedule so keep that in mind. Everything here I have had is really good. My favorite was the katsu. Very crisp and thin!

What a surprise place for some Gimbap. This place is located in a plaza with a few other spots. It's kind of in the corner and is like a hole in the wall type of spot. As soon as I entered, I was greeted and was shown the menu. I ordered a few Gimbaps. I got the Veggie Gimbap and Bulgogi Gimbap. The flavor of the Bulgogi was very good. But the star for me was actually their Veggie Gimbap! I love beef, but the veggie Gimbap was seasoned perfectly and the texture was just right. Other places have overcooked, soggy veggies. This place had one of the best Vegetable Gimbaps I've had. I highly recommend the Veggi Gimbap, even if you're not vegetarian. When in the area, stop by Seoul 1979 and try their Gimbap. I'm sure the rest of their food is great as well, which I will definitely try out next time around!

Hands down the best Korean spot around town . They have super affordable prices & the food taste amazing. Curry Chicken Katsu $14.99: This is our go to ! Deep fried chicken, side salad, creamy soy sauce flavor & curry on the side . Comes with white rice . Love the fried chicken with the sauce & the curry . It goes perfectly well together and everything in the dish compliments each other nicely . A MUST 5/5 Bulgogi Gimbap $7.95:This dish stars bulgogi tucked into a sushi wrap & has sweet and salty soy sauce flavor. This was my first time trying it & really enjoyed the flavor . It's basically like a sushi roll with bulgogi . Get the garlic creamy sauce for dipping 5/5 Chicken gangejong $9.95 : Deep fried spicy and crispy chicken cutlets in a spicy and sweet sauce . Reminded me of bon chon .Loved the flavor and went well with the bulgogi gimbap. Overall , I love the quality of the food and impressed with the pricing . Definitely a hidden gem . A go to spot if you're looking for some yummy korean food .

We came here for a late lunch/early dinner and we were pleased with the service and quality of the food. We ordered: 1. Duo Set $12.95 (consisted of a Seoul Gimbap which is like a sushi roll but larger (see my video) and a ramen soup). 2. Tonkatsu Curry $14.99 Everything was tasty and we wish we would've known about the large bowl with the beef which I think was called Bibimbap. We will also try the Bulgogi next time. The ambiance of the place appeared to be clean and bright. There were a lot of people by the time we settled to eat; most of the tables were occupied. The only caveat I would suggest is to ask about the spice level. The ramen I ordered was on the extremely spicy side. I had to pour some water to dilute the spice. Overall, we would return and try some other items.

There food is incredible and their service is impeccable Love this place.

And I settled for Wabune Sushi in the Raleys Grocery Store plaza. So onto the review: I ordered a ton of food, and even wrote everything down on paper for the newbie server. Hamachi Kama: felt it wasnt Krispy or charred enough. 3.5/5 Volcano Mushrooms: wasn't what I was expecting, it was just a bunch of shrooms, battered up with some cream cheese 2.5/5 **would skip ordering this Douglas Roll: wasn't anything worth remembering, as in typing this an hour 1/2 later, I cannot recall what was in the Douglas Roll besides red sauce and spicy tuna, shrimp tempura....so it must have been a mediocre roll 3/5 Chirashi Bowl: was ok, sashimi was fresh, but nothing along the levels of Sushi Gen in Little Tokyo Los Angeles 4/5 Uni: I want to allege after finishing both Uni Nigiri that this wasn't the freshest, because of the complex after taste, it was somewhat bitter with a fishy aftertaste and the coloring was a bit dark. Totally different. 3 2.5/5 Amaebi: Corral Sweet Shrimp Raw Nigiri: probably the only shining star or the 4/5 *Although I suggest next time removing the heads of the shrimp and steeping them with Miso soup for an additional layer of presentation, it would give the Miso soup more Umami And what else am I missing.....yes the Oysters at Market Price ($16.00) Ok aside from the fact the restaurant operators couldn't really name where the oysters were from...I'm assuming it's frozen oysters...I wanted to give this starter a higher score, but Everytime I slurp, I get fragments of the Oyster shells in my mouth, and honestly, I find the oysters that you can get at Wholefoods market Alot of times better quality and taste (being better quality oysters are sweeter and have less of that Seafood aftertaste. So unfortunately I have to give this order a 2.5/5 even though I finished it because the ponzu and chilli sauces they used really masked the natural tastes of the oyster. Mochi Green Tea Ice Cream: Skip. This is just supermarket mochi ice cream, you can pick up better at Sprouts or Wholefoods. 3/5

When we walked in, the place seemed a bit light on customers, and we were politely informed that the food might take longer than usual due to understaffing. We weren't necessarily in a rush, so we proceeded with ordering. To start, we had the Melting Albacore. It sounded similar to a dish we've had at another restaurant, so we just had to get it to compare. The presentation wasn't great. The daikon looked like it was just slapped on the plate with the sauce. Perhaps sauce in a ramekin on the side could help clean up the presentation. The fish quality was alright, and the crab mix was decent. It felt like maybe the sauce was actively there to cover up where some parts of the dish were lacking. Not a terrible dish overall, but I think it needs better execution. The two rolls we got were the North Star and Aspen. Both decent rolls, but the Aspen really shined (ironic given the other name) with punchier flavors from the lemon and jalapeños. Also, the torch helped to make all the flavors more cohesive. The North Star brought in a better assortment of fish, but similar to the Melting Albacore dish, I wasn't a huge fan of the fish quality. Will I come back here? Probably not, but I do have to give it to our server. She was so amicable that it was hard to really have a negative thought about the dining experience at the time. Also, I thought the dishes came out within a reasonable timeframe, even if they weren't understaffed.

I believe they make their own teriyaki sauce, but I didn't get a chance to try it. The girl working at the front was very nice. Even though I ordered my food to go, I decided to eat there instead. She was kind enough to check in on me and make sure I was enjoying my meal. I just wish this place wasn't so out of the way for me. If it were closer, I would definitely return!

You can actually watch the sushi Chef off the corner, doing his thing. They have TVs on, and also TV screens that show their different items that they have on the menu. They have both bento boxes, sashimi sushi, and rolls. The sushi/roll selection is huge. They also have sushi boats for larger parties. They have a daily sushi special and a daily bento special. I decided to go for the bento box. The day I was there, it was spicy chicken, teriyaki, chicken, and. 2 gyoza. I ask how spicy the spicy chicken was, and she said it wasn't very spicy, but she would put the sauce on the side for me. The bento comes, and oh my, was it a lot of food. The gyoza were wonderfully crispy. I loved the salad, I'm not sure what the dressing was, she said it was their "house dressing". I believe it was a mayonnaise based dressing. it was a little bit sweet and a little bit tangy. . It was excellent. I loved the pickled vegetables, they provide provided a nice pop of acid. The rice was done just right, I used some teriyaki sauce sitting at the table on the rice, and it was perfect for the rice. The teriyaki chicken was perfectly grilled, and the sauce on the spicy chicken was just a little bit spicy. Well, within what I like for spicy. It put just a tiny bit of a sweat on my forehead, but not much. It wasn't just spice, it also had a good flavor. I left very full. The price of the special, soda, tax and tip was extremely reasonable for the quantity and quality of food. I want to come back and try the sushi next time. Thank you!
