    Spicy Miso Ramen

Ramen House Shinchan is a cute Mom and Pop ramen restaurant. My friends and I went there on a Saturday morning right when it open. We were able to get seated immediately for a group of 5. FOOD: I ordered the spicy miso spicy ramen. It's a miso based pork broth with braised pork, soft-boiled egg , scallions, and lots of vegetables. I thought the ramen was pretty good. The broth was flavorful but not overly salty. I hate when the broth is salty. The braised pork and soft-boiled egg was cooked to perfection. We also got the misokatsu as a side dish. The katsu was fantastic. It was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. I didn't care for the miso dipping sauce but that's fine. Overall Ramen House Shinchan is a great Ramen restaurant. It's not my favorite but I'll definitely be back.

The place is overall clean and the staff is very kind! The appetizer potstickers were good. They were cooked perfectly, soft but crispy on the side. The filling was well seasoned. The curry was rich and flavorful and the chicken was perfectly fried. The ramen curry was pretty much the same but with more veggies and noodles. The portion sizes are insanely large and I ended up taking half my ramen home for later. My sister and her husband have a bit of a more refined taste when it comes to ramen and they noticed that the tonkatsu was made with milk or cream but apparently it's supposed to get creamy from the pork fat instead. I only took the one star off for that reason but otherwise it was great! I'd come back for sure.

Decent ramen place with a big menu. Food is good but not stunning. It can get very busy. Good spot for casual dining.

I had some champon. It was a generous portion, I was absolutely stuffed, and it was delicious.

The flavors are overall really good when you first start eating, but does get a bit salty after a while. Each ramen is at least $15+, but the serving size is large so kind of worth it. Everything is made really well, the ramen egg, noodles, vegetables, seafood etc. The shoyu and shio are both darker than I'm used to, which to a lot of people it's probably more preferable. Shio seems lighter and I'd go with that for the kids. They allow substitution of noodles so we swapped for udon for the kids. Karaage was good because the batter wasn't too flavorful which allowed you to dip into the mayo which was more flavorful, but the kids didn't like the karaage as much because of lack of flavor on the batter. They all really liked the gyoza, which was steamed instead of fried. Sauce is a darker soysauce flavor which was fine. Overall I enjoyed it!

I honestly don't have many complaints. Service was very good, we came closer to 8 pm so the restaurant was not packed. The server checked up on us often. We decided to go with a couple of the specials on the board. We ordered tako karaage, special tonkotsu ramen, and gomoku ramen. I decided to add in extra protein in mine (gomoku ramen). I added extra tamago and cha siu. Prices were reasonable for the portions we received. I also want to add that the hours on Yelp are wrong. They are only closed on Mondays. Tuesdays and Wednesdays are the same time as the other days. -tako karaage 5 - deep fried octopus. I recommend trying this if you need a chance of pace from ordering gyoza, takoyaki, or karaage. The portion was just right and it had good size octopus. It had a nice crunch and I really liked the texture of the octopus. It wasn't overcooked. -Gomoku ramen with extra protein 4.5 - tamago had a nice yellow-orangish hue yolk. Cha siu was easy to tear apart with your teeth and had good flavor. It was slightly dry. Ramen had a good amount of veggies. Noodles had some chew. Broth is similar to shoyu. Not too salty. There are also small pieces of pork.

Salty Ramen broth, perfectly soft soft boiled egg, dry pork, ok noodles. Friendly staff. Place is different from the last time I went, probably pre-pandemic or early post-pandemic. It's not as good sadly. Friendly staff but it's not great for groups as the tables max out at 6 people. There's no kids menu fyi, but it's good for kids to eat adult food :) Tonkotsu Ramen - The broth was saltier than I would have liked, it's good when coating the noodles but not good to drink. Save the leftover broth for some ramen back home. The egg is perfectly squishy. The pork is dry and tough in the non fatty parts. The noodles are thin and ok, I would have liked more firmness or chew to them. The bean sprouts and green onions are a nice crunch. FYI the "Special" version uses a non white broth, and has some spicy paste on it. My friend got it and I tried it, it did have more flavor than the normal version. Both are beautifully presented.

Poor service Even if we saw empty tables they kept us waiting for 15 min The food was average not very appetizing

This is a small mom and pop ramen spot. The inside is kind of dated but I personally prefer it that way, gives off old school home vibes. They have a live waitlist on Yelp, I highly recommend utilizing this to avoid a long wait time. The ramen is absolutely delicious and tasty. The broth tastes like it's been boiling and prepared for hours, it's very good. Ramen comes with lots of toppings without having to add more for an up charge. They do have them though. The price is reasonable, most places have crazy high prices for ramen these days and I appreciate this one not raising their cost like others. Service is fine - You are able to enjoy your meal with who you're with without their staff hovering over you. This has become one of my favorite ramen spots in the area!

Took five tries to finally eat here. Was the wait worth it? Read on! The first four visits - be it Covid related, long lines or whatever- yeah it took fifth visit to try the food. Looks like they are back to full operations! I ended up getting the spicy tuna roll and Tonkotsu ramen with extra chashu. Spicy Tuna Roll was ok, nothing special. I would recommend you skip the rolls and stick to the ramens. Tonkotsu broth was awesome, thick, bold, creamy and unfortunately there wasn't enough broth. Not sure if you can get 1/2 noodles and more broth but if you can do it!! The chashu used at this place is pork shoulder meat and not pork belly. The meat was tender and perfectly cooked. The only issue I had was - I asked for extra chashu and got two orders of extra chashu - not sure if this was by a mistake but whatever. However, don't get extra chashu lol, what they give you is plenty. While observing others, I've noticed they ordered miso ramen, chompong, and karaage chicken. Next time I visit, I'll have the other ones. Also come when they open, I was first in the door but within 5 minutes all the tables were occupied.

AMAZING! Excellent service, ambiance, and the food was delicious! Must try the cold tan tan ramen and the spicy miso ramen. 11/10

Came here for the first time on a weekend evening randomly. Did not make a reservation, but luckily got in for a table of three. They do a lot of takeout and carry out which I saw from all the packaging of food. Service was nice and food came out very quickly. Everything was good but not great. Definitely room for improvement but that's a good thing. Considering the competition in the local vicinity for Ramen, both new competitors and existing an older competitors They definitely need to do something to elevate them or make themselves distinct from everybody else. Great part was that it is in a strip mall, so parking was easy. Pricing is fair considering the competition in the area would happily come back, especially if there were new items offered on the menu or a new fresh approach to some of the traditional items.

Ramen House Shinchan is a decent ramen shop, specializing ramen from Nagoya. I ordered Tonkotsu Ramen, and overall it was not bad. Although I think bean sprouts in Tonkotsu Ramen is not ideal. The Tebasaki chicken wings are fried and drizzled with a sweet sauce. It was pretty tasty and had a good fry. They do have a specials menu, so make sure you look out for that. If I'm in the area again, I'll give Taiwan Ramen a try, as that's a traditional Nagoya ramen dish.

We walked into a casual, cozy space with a smaller dining area that can feel busy during peak hours, but the atmosphere stays simple and focused on the food rather than a polished dining experience. The setup works well for a place centered around a warm bowl of noodles, where the attention stays on what is in the bowl rather than what is on the walls. The ramen is the main reason to visit, especially the signature Kitakata-style noodles. The noodles have a thicker, springy texture that gives each bowl a satisfying bite, and the broths are where the restaurant stands out. We tried the Spicy Miso Ramen, which brought a deeper, richer flavor with a noticeable kick, and the Green Chili Shio Ramen, which offered a lighter but still flavorful option with a cleaner broth profile. The balance between the noodles, broth, and toppings made the bowls feel thoughtfully put together rather than just another standard ramen option. The toppings were generous and the eggs were cooked well, adding a creamy richness that tied the bowl together. Beyond ramen, the sides are worth adding to the meal. We ordered the pan-fried gyoza, which came out with a crisp exterior and a juicy filling, making it one of the stronger starters to share. The karaage also added variety if you want something beyond noodles, with a crispy coating that held up without being greasy. The menu has enough options for different preferences, including vegetarian ramen choices that do not feel like an afterthought. Because of its popularity, waits can happen, especially during dinner hours and weekends. Joining the waitlist ahead of time is a good idea if you are planning around a specific schedule. The restaurant moves with a steady pace once seated, and the service generally matches the casual style of the space. The staff handle the flow efficiently, and even when the dining room is full, the pace of the meal stays comfortable without feeling rushed. Kitakata Ramen Ban Nai is a strong ramen destination for anyone looking for flavorful broths, well-textured noodles, and comforting Japanese dishes. The spicy ramen options and pan-fried gyoza are highlights, making it a place worth visiting when you want a satisfying bowl rather than just a quick noodle stop. The quality of the broth and the texture of the noodles make it a step above the average ramen spot, delivering a meal that feels complete and well considered.

Seriously. Seriously? Me with a main dish and my hubby/friends bereft of food? Oh wow. I didn't touch it until the apps arrived a couple minutes later - finally their mains arrived. Yay. The apps? Well, the chicken karaage was really fried chicken breast meat (no bones; not a prob for me, but hubby - a japanese man by birth- was not impressed). The agedashi tofu was yummy and quite good. Nice! Ok- my ramen was - yes- spicy and oily, as any good ramen should be. The bad part? I could tell the bean sprouts weren't fresh as my sensitive digestive tract let me know - fast- that the sprouts were "not" fresh. Yikes. Not a good thing - hence the demerit. Ok- first- we may come again. But gosh. the workers really need to be a bit happier to be there- or - if they can't be pleasant - keep them out of the public's eye.
