We were in the plaza where Prime Sushi and Ramen is. It was late and we'd not had lunch yet so stopped in to give it a try. I'm glad we did. The location is nicely decorated - very spare like a traditional sushi place. They have a sushi bar but we chose to sit in a booth. It was after 2:00 PM so we were their only patrons. As such, we had great service. We only ordered two rolls -- tuna and avocado. Both were excellent - fresh, delicious, and arranged nicely on the plate. Since we were only there a short time, and only had a small amount, I look forward to returning with a larger group so I can give a more complete review. read more

We came in on a Saturday night and there was no one in here so we were skeptical at first. First off the place is immaculate.... I mean like pristine clean! We saw so many take out orders so I get it. We started with some sushi - Crazy Tuna is chef's kiss! It's fresh, actually spicy and perfect amount of sauces. We next split the Black Garlic Bomb ramen and made it spicy! I absolutely appreciate the amount of spice in this (enough to make your nose run but not enough to throw you over the edge) again absolutely delicious and all the veggies were super fresh! Doubt I'll be coming back. Went in for the first time to have: Luke warm house sake, small portion sashimi, still frozen hamachi sashimi and boring rolls, all served up with a smile. Insanely slow service, likely one waitress, one cook and one sushi chef running the whole place. My friend had ramen so we could try out both the sushi and ramen options, but was bored of the one noted flavor of her dish half way thru the bowl. Sometime i get more (crabroll/all raw salmon and raw tuna).They also sell ramen with different liquid base: miso, soy, cjicken, beef, pork: salmon, yellowtail, shrimp (darkreadypoop removed & de-shelled. We came here for a nice family meal and ordered a variety of dishes off the menu. This place is a simple clean restaurant with great quality and taste in every dish. The house salad and avocado salad were nicely portioned and fresh. The Naruto roll was delicious and fresh as well. The sashimi appetizer had nice thick cuts of quality salmon, yellowtail, and tuna. The seafood ramen in spicy tonkatsu broth was the star of the show. Delicious broth, perfectly cooked noodles, and lots of tasty toppings and seafood. The black garlic ramen in original tonkatsu broth was also very flavorful but not as preferable. We also got the lobster roll, dragon roll and crazy tuna roll. All were delicious and hugely stuffed! Great service when we walked in, received a dish of edamame and a orange carved bear for our kids at the end. What's also great is they are open regular hours and don't close mid-afternoon like other Japanese restaurants in the area. I loved the food. My family placed a large order togo and everyone was satisfied with everything. I ordered the fried chicken ramen and i have found a new love. Decent sushi spot with some small things that made me reduce the rating. Price is on the medium to higher side Fish quality is better than most spots around the area with just the salmon being a little fishy. Gave good amount of fish inside the rolls. One thing that bothered me was that they did not cut up the cucumber into smaller pieces, so when you ate a piece the rest of the piece dissolves together and you are left with a giant chunk of cucumber in your mouth. The rice was also a little off in the salmon and tuna rolls, the taste was a little off and the texture was harder than normal. They also have a 3% card processing fee so watch out for that. After an eye clinic appointment we happened to find this new Japanese restaurant in Palatine Rd, Hoffman Estates. It's within the same plaza beside Mochidou, and where Sarap Bistro used to be. The place is neat and clean with a very homey atmosphere, we were greeted with a warm welcome by staff and service is prompt. I ordered their black garlic bomb ramen in tonkotsu original soup base (you can choose your preferred soup base for your ramen) and I kid you not, it really is the bomb! I've tried other good ramen places in the Chicago suburbs but this so far is the best. I learned that they just opened 4 months ago, Prime Sushi and Ramen is indeed a hidden gem restaurant worth coming back to.
