I havent had much experience with ramen in the past and the experience I had wasnt so great - but thats just my personal taste. I decided to try the Shoyu Ramen which comes with chicken and a couple of sushi rolls. I honestly wasnt expecting much, but boy was I wrong!! I will definitely be back. The girl at the register made some appropriate suggestions, which turned out to be spot on. The place was SUPER clean, and as customers left they immediately cleaned up after them. The sushi was fresh and delicious!! The Ramen was amazing! I did spice level 3, next time Im going up to 4. Not sure why they need to charge so much extra for more spicy, but I dont care. Ill try it #4 spicy next time and maybe just try Sriracha to add spice in a future order. The sushi came out and I was impressed with the presentation and the taste. My spouse and I came here after a particularly long and exhausting day of moving. We have to be out soon and we don't have a lot of time but I just wanted to sit and have a nice meal. When we arrived there was a small line and a lot of unbussed tables. The kiosk said to pick up a number and find a seat but there were no numbers, they were all at the unbussed tables. A waitress did find one for us and we ended up sitting down at a dirty table because it was all there was and I can't stand for long periods of time. In about ten minutes my sushi came out, about ten minutes later, my ramen came out, and 40 minutes later my husband's potato and tornado potato were still not there. I was practically falling asleep at my dirty table. We flagged down the waitress to ask about it and she said she'd check. She served a few more people their ramen and we just decided to leave. I really wished I could have decompressed and had a nice time, now I just feel like I wasted an hour of my precious time, and of course the money from the food we weren't served. read more

Charging extra for a "spiciness level" makes no sense when every table already has chili powder and chili sauce for free. Just get rid of the extra charge and let customers adjust the spice themselves! Nobody even told us it cost extra, and the ramen wasn't spicy enough for me to notice I'd paid for it. They also forgot the corn I paid extra for. When I mentioned the ramen wasn't spicy, the server basically just said, "Thank you." If you're going to charge extra, at least tell customers and actually give them what they paid for. Otherwise, please put those free chili bottles away so we don't feel stupid for paying extra for "spiciness." read more

We wanted to try something new & saw that this place had great reviews. There's plenty of parking, lots of seating, & it's got a casual college town vibe. Ordering was a cinch... You can order in person with the lovely, patient server, or order from the kiosk. We missed happy hour, which ends at 4pm, but they have their Summer Special going on right now. The hubbs got a poke bowl with (1/2 off) karaage chicken & I got an aloha sushi roll with (1/2 off) chashu rice bowl - that + 2 drinks, tax & tip for $50. Not bad considering we're stuffed & have leftovers. The reason for the 4/5 is I didn't feel like they had much of a variety when it came to their sushi rolls. All 3 of their fried rolls have cream cheese, their other roles were either basic (CA roll, rainbow roll, crunch roll) or they all had spicy tuna or eel sauce. Don't get me wrong, the aloha role was tasty & I'm glad I got that one; but I only got that one because I didn't like any of the others offered. I'm hoping there will be more of a variety with the Ramen next time we go. They did have a lot of appetizers to choose from, & even their desserts looked/sounded good. Love this place! A very quick and easy way for me to get something to eat. I love that it's open late so I usually come and grab a late dinner. Their tonkotsu ramen is pretty good. The noodles are always just right at the chashu is roasted with a blowtorch right before they bring it out to you. The chashu's texture is always tender and yummy. The half egg varies in quality. Sometimes it has a perfect jammy texture, but sometimes it appears hard boiled. Either way, it's really not a big deal at the end of the day. The chicken karaage always tastes great as well. The breading is crispy and the meat on the inside is tender and juicy. Goes really well with the spicy mayo as a dipping sauce. The takoyaki is great as well. Slightly crispy exterior with a fluffy, hot interior. The octopus piece in the middle has a nice chew to it. The staff here are friendly and the space itself is spacious. First of all I was a big fan of the Ramen Hub in Long Beach when I worked in that area a few years ago so I was pretty excited to learned that one had opened in Fullerton in the last year or so but it was recent that my schedule allowed me to venture back into Fullerton from nearby Brea. So I was impressed by some of similarities of the Fullerton location including the layout and the hipster vibe. I actually came on back to back days to have my favorite Tonkotsu soup and remembered how much I enjoyed the broth, the soft egg, and the firmness of the noodles. what I was slightly disappointed in was the pork belly slices being not as tender as I remembered. I did plan ahead and down loaded the Ramen Hub app and signed up for the rewards program as I have wanted to explore more of the menu and take advantage of the Monthly promotions. Although the restaurant uses digital ordering, I managed to get a server to help me on both days that I visited; service was polite, prompt and with little fanfare. When I first went here, the happy hour deal was so good. The pork chashu bowl was yum, and their fried sushi. For $14, that's a good meal. I recently went here again and tried their ramen for the first time and takoyaki for their lunch combo. My order came out within 5 minutes of me ordering. Now, for typical ramen places, my food takes longer so it didn't even feel like it was cooked properly. The pork was hard to eat and the broth had no flavor. The noodles tasted like cup ramen noodles, not sure if it was cooked properly or if it's old stocked noodles. Came on a Sunday night around 9:45pm. It was busy. They have a kiosk that you order and a register next to it, not sure if it was to order or what because the cashier would say one thing and do another. We ordered an item that should have come with a special item and it did not. Ramen was mid and believe me when I say I waited over an hour to get it. They also ran out of table numbers and I had to go to the register twice and stand there to get one to make sure they didn't forget our order. They should have had more than one person working the tables. I had to move a bunch of empty plates off a table so we could sit down, and the table was never wiped down . UPDATE: The owner of Ramen Hub & Sushi actually reached out to me after this review, and I really appreciate that. It shows that they care about making things right with their customers and don't just ignore concerns. They explained that they are already retraining staff along with adding in more respectful and consistent communication of their policies so situations like mine don't repeat. I haven't been able to revisit since, but I'm hoping that if I come back soon, I'll see those improvements in action. Ramen hub is massive inside and there's a kiosk that you can easily order from. Theres plenty of seating and everything you need at every table. I had high hopes for this new ramen place for our family. I ordered a roll with shrimp tempura and spicy tuna. As soon as the roll came out, I noticed the bright red color was off. When I bit into the roll, I knew right away it wasn't spicy tuna and the fish was extremely mushy and tasted off. It definitely was not spicy tuna and probably a mixture of different fish leftovers. The fish wasn't fresh and looked like it had been out for a while. Not wanting to cause a scene, I tried to give the roll a fair shot, but stopped because I felt sick. As soon as I came home, I was throwing up the same day and the days after. I'm most upset that a roll is advertised as having spicy tuna and that definitely isn't spicy tuna. Other reviews for this restaurant say the same about this roll. I wish I read the reviews regarding the "spicy tuna" before choosing to eat here. My family enjoyed the rice chashu bowl which was tasty. I wouldn't come back again or recommend. The sushi name in this restaurant should be taken off. read more

Although it is priced better and has many promotions like lunch combos, drink specials, etc. i felt that the taste was not as refined and authentic. The ramen was average, with strange details like the egg sloppily peeled and overcooked, and broth had a spice option that was purely jalapeños. The karage tasted like frozen premade breaded chicken. Also, I don't think you tip here. I tipped but realize that it's self serve. Again, it's just priced better for ramen and basic rolls than other popular spots nearby. They also give a bit more portion in their roll add ons. There is more space so there won't be a wait. I think this place is fine when nearby, but it didn't hit the spot. I visited this place as a spur of the moment, late night dinner. I started at the self-order kiosk which was easy to use and order but they also had someone taking orders at the front. I received a number and had a seat in their dining area which was very clean and well organized. They have a chill vibe with tvs and music. I ordered a spicy tonkatsu ramen with the 2 spicy pork ribs on the side. The ramen was fatty, flavorful, and the noodles were cooked well. Wow the pork ribs though were amazing! They were the perfect add on for the ramen! The meat was marinated and fall off the bone tender! Overall I highly recommend a visit!
