Welp, everything was, not great. Vegetarian review Veggie roll was ok. Standard, but almost subpar. Croquettes were the best part. Well fried. Soft inside, crispy outside. Vegan ramen was, uh, boring. Bland. Maybe it's only the veggie stuff that's not good. On the bright side, no line and parking was easy. Service was good.

I've been coming here for the past few years, and it's always yummy. The rolls are buy one, get one 50% off so that's usually my go to at night, and when I come for lunch I get a bento box since it's a little cheaper. They recently redid the inside and added some nice cushioned booths which is nice and the staff is always super friendly. Great place to grab a bite with friends and family

Came here specifically for the lunch special and ordered a ramen and sushi. The ramen was a great portion that I didn't even finish. The chashu was a bit fatty for my preference but the noodles were a great texture. However; the broth wasn't anything unique in my opinion - I think it could've been richer and fattier if you're into that. The sushi roll was delicious. It was the perfect portion size and a great start to my meal. The service was as expected as well! Will definitely return for their lunch special.

Yellowtail sushi - so fresh & flavorful HH price $4.95, Nov. '25

On this cold night, we wanted some warmth in the form of ramen. To our surprise, they had happy hour going on, so we took advantage of that too. The yellowtail sushi was very good, fresh, & tasty. My fave item that we ordered was the yellowtail jalapeño - not crazy spicy, topped w/ fresh micro greens on top of a killer sauce. Our next fave item was the tuna atop crunch spinach. This was a sleeper - it didn't look or sound good, but it really surprised me! Best part was the sauce, which kind of had a nice lil kick, while the crunchy spinach softened beautifully in said sauce. The tuna was also delicious! We weren't thrilled about the yuzu salmon donburi - the fish eggs popped like popping boba & there wasn't a whole lot of flavor to the dish. The beef ramen was a bit bland, so we added things to season it. We even threw some of the noods onto the plates w/ sauces we loved! They're open late, have ample parking (which fills up quickly on weekends), & the service was very friendly & fast. While it's mostly full of college students, it isn't too loud for a date.

We went here again for rice dishes. On a Tuesday evening, there were many tables available. I got the chicken katsu curry, and we shared the salmon skin roll. Unlike a prior visit, the roll had more salmon meat and less skin this time. The roll was still tasty. The chicken curry katsu came in a hot stone bowl with crispy rice. I liked the curry's texture, and it wasn't too soupy. However, there could've been a little more curry since I finished my meal with excess rice. The chicken itself was pretty crunchy with fairly darkened breading. It seemed that they fried the katsu almost to its limit with it still tasting good, however. For the price paid, I wish the curry had more vegetables like potatoes, carrots, or red ginger. These would've balanced out the katsu's prominent flavor. I did try some tempura: onion and sweet potato. Unfortunately, these weren't sufficiently crispy. They were limp and not really enjoyable to eat. All of the tempura, several pieces, had this texture. Despite this, the rest of the food was enjoyable, and I envision coming back just because the location is very convenient. Service was good as usual, and there was upbeat Korean pop music playing in the background.

My lady friend and I came here after she got off work. We both got the Tonkatsu ramen. We also ordered the Mango roll, a d another roll that I don't remember the name. For dessert we both had the Green Tea Mochi. It was a great evening, the food was delicious, and the service was excellent. I should have eaten more but I was focused on my beautiful lady friend and not food. We will definitely be back.

The veggie rolls were my favorite!! I loved the veggie rolls. They had carrot, cucumber and avocado in them! So good. I would definitely order those again. They were fresh and delightful. 10/10 Tempura Shrimp The tempura shrimp was really good. I liked it. It had a nice flavor. The coating was crispy. The shrimp inside was a decent size. I would order this appetizer again. 10/10 Vegan Tofu Ramen Extra Toppings I can't seem to get it right with the vegan ramen. Last time, it was bland and didn't have much going on as far as toppings go. This time, I ordered a gang of extra toppings, and the broth was still bland lol I think I needed extra broth too. I ordered extra toppings like tofu, egg, mushrooms, sprouts, spinach, veggies. The extra toppings were the way to do it. I should have ordered extra broth too. Even then though, the veggie broth is very bland tasting. Not sure I'd order this again to be honest. I feel like the ramen is not for me here. 8/10 Takoyaki My husband loves the takoyaki here! He always makes sure to order it. This time, he got two orders of this lol That's how much he loves it. He also likes the ramen with meat. He will eat any of them. The takoyaki is a must for him. 10/10 It does get busy here. The ambiance is pretty crowded. I think it is just the location really. Popular spot.

This is a small but very busy spot in the middle of downtown Fullerton. Their sushi is always fabulous and fresh and they serve some of the best Ramen in town. The girl who took our order was very distracted, but the young man who took care of us was awesome. Sorry I didn't get their names.

Phenomenal ambience and food! Came here to grab some lunch around 2pm with a friend and we immediately got seated! Our server Jonathan was polite & attentive. We both ordered the Lunch 2-Item Bento Box; I chose the Bulgogi and Spicy Tuna Roll, and my friend chose the Veggie Gyoza & Avocado Roll. They both came with Miso Soup, Rice and a Salad which left us very satiated! (: The atmosphere was AMAZING! I absolutely loved all the art & lighting inside! I felt like I was transported to a different world :D The pricing was not bad at all! Each LUNCH Bento started at $17.95! Very affordable with the amount of variety & food they give you! No doubt I'll be coming back again and again! ^.^

Tonkatsu ramen and the Yummy roll.
    Erin H.

Just amazing. We struggled to find a parking spot at 5:00PM on a Monday. I got the Tonkatsu Ramen and my dad got the yummy roll. It sure lived up to its name! Although the tonkatsu ramen was fine, the yummy roll was just something else. It came with an amazing sauce that gave the littlest spice kick. The service was amazing, and I mean it. First, a staff member told us about the 50% off deal, second, they checked on us frequently and third, they gave us some complimentary hard candies. The ambiance was very Japanese, and there were Japanese posters, Japanese lanterns, everything! This restaurant is one of the best and I will be coming again.

I came back after a very long hiatus and I'm glad that Kopan is still up and at it. I ordered the Kara Miso Ramen ($16.96). It's a pork broth with pork chashu, bean sprouts, bamboo shoots, kirurage mushrooms, corn, seasoned egg, green onion, dried seaweed, sesame seed, and spicy miso. Whew! This was fire. The spicy miso added a nice kick to the pork broth. I am a ramen maximalist and this had alllll the fixings which I really enjoyed. I was craving ramen and this bowl slapped. Apparently rolls are buy one and get one 50% off so obviously we had to. We ordered the: -firecracker roll ($15.00): spicy scallop, spicy crabmeat (in), spicy tuna, crunch powder sauce (out) -volcano roll ($16.00): spicy tuna (out), whole baked salmon with Kopan baked mayo, crunch powder sauce + eel sauce The rolls were as good as any Americanized roll you could get. The mayo was mayo-ing and the crunch powder was crunching. They have plenty of rolls to choose from so I'm sure you can find something to suit your fancy. Kill two birds with one stone and satiate your sushi ramen fix at Kopan.

Came during a weekday lunch and got seated right away. The interior has nice decorations and fun posters that give the place a cozy vibe. I ordered the tonkatsu ramen, which tasted as expected, though I do wish it came with more toppings. The server was attentive and very nice throughout the meal. The only downside was the music; it was a little choppy and disconnecting at times. Otherwise, it was a nice lunch spot.

Kopan Sushi & Ramen Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Kopan Sushi & Ramen

    Can they seat large parties?

They'd have to put some tables together to accommodate that. Most are 2 to 4 people tables. Not like Chomp but the food here is 10 X's better than there's!!! Way better and…

    Do they take reservations?

I called earlier today and they said they no longer take reservations.

Do they allow dogs on the patio?

I suggest calling Kopan Ramen to get the most accurate information.

    Do they serve bulgogi there?

At the Fullerton restaurant they have a Bulgogi Bowl

Can you make a to go order?

Yes, I wasn't feeling well but wanted to get the warmth and comfort of ramen soup. I ordered to go and now I am cozying up on the couch, resting and feeling oh so much better with my big @$$ bowl of ramen.

Do they have gluten free noodle?

    Lol, I don't think so.

    Do they take reservations?

No they don't. I suggest if you are in a hurry, go as soon as they open or between 2-5

What's the best time to avoid long a long wait? I went last night (Sunday) at around 730pm and there was a line out the door. It was too cold to stand outside and wait.

    I'd say before 7. Probably between 5 and 6:30.

Is there a happy hour of any kind?

Lunch special pricing from 11a-3p. Also BOGO 1/2 off on appetizer from 3p-5p. They have a frequent customer punch card that gives you food credit after so many visits.

Why did you guys paint the walls orange? :(

To match the color of Trump's spray tan.

STEPH JUDGEMENT: Great ramen, sushi, and more for everyone!…read more The hubby and I'd learned about this place from a vegan acquaintance and were intrigued enough to make the trek from Long Beach to check it out. Located in an older shopping center, the interior had a clean, pleasant homey traditional Japanese look to it, but it did feel a bit cramped with divider walls. The main attraction for us was their vegan menu, of course, which turned out to be amazingly extensive (they have non-vegan stuff too). Generally, even if a restaurant offers vegan/vegetarian items it feels like a token afterthought, but not here. In addition to the ramen and sushi items we were expecting, there were a bunch we were not, like "meaty" dumplings, fried "shrimp", and "chicken" katsu curry (which I had to try). I was really wowed by this dish; the "chicken" felt like an actual breast meat filet, and the crispy coating was great. The curry was the real star, which had all the right flavors and texture that I remembered. The hubby had the Vegan Ecstasy ramen, which he really enjoyed. It had a delicious creamy broth with broccoli, corn, tofu slices, and delightfully chewy noodles. We also shared a vegan caterpillar roll; couldn't tell what they used for the "eel" (eggplant?), but since the star of caterpillar rolls is the avocado and sauce, it had the right flavor and texture. We were with my non-veg brother and nephew, who shared a salmon roll, CA roll, and spicy pork won tons, which they really liked. According to my brother the wontons were very spicy, with a lot of chili threads on top, so beware. They also gave us some complimentary vegan matcha ice cream at the end (has nuts, fyi), which we thought was a nice touch. The great food, service, and prices so wowed us that we brought my sister and her family here to celebrate some birthdays. I'd called ahead to reserve a table for our party of six, and we were sat at the large semi circle booth at the back. We ordered an assortment of veg and non-veg items and everyone loved the food. This is now our go-to for vegan ramen and Japanese food, especially if we're meeting up with non-veg people.

Had a really bad takeout experience through Yelp tonight. The order took a very long time and by…read morethe time I got home, I realized I was missing an item. I called the business and was told they were out of the item and that I had been refunded through Grubhub (I ordered through Yelp). Transaction is pending, so I can't confirm that yet, but I haven't received any notice from Yelp about a partial refund in my order. This should have been communicated with me when I was there in person. I could have picked an alternate item, or at the very least been made aware of the refund. It was kind of them to give me a water while I waited, but at one point a gentleman came out and told me it would be a couple more minutes, and it ended up being about almost 15mins longer beyond that point. I am a firm believer in making the customer experience worth it when long wait times, or missing items are a concern. I'm not one to even accept these things; I've worked in food service, and things happen, but it always makes the customer feel special when they are appreciated. I did not feel appreciated for my time, my money spent, or the items that was missing. When I got home, they gave me a laughably small portion of broth for my ramen. I ordered extra noodles, but even before adding the extra noodles, the broth wasn't enough to even cover my meat and noodles. I've eaten at this place dozens of times, but never ordered to go. I never had any of the issues I had tonight, so this is surprising. I will never order takeout from here again.
