Came to this place since it closes later than others. Parking lot is 2 hours max and has a ton of spaces inside and on the street. We were signing up on the waitlist when one of the employees motions us to get seated right away. Inside was pretty cool, the ambiance and vibe was mellow. It felt calm and peaceful. Our waiter was very kind and thoroughly asked us about which meal and the ingredient options. He also was checking on us occasionally and so was another staff member. Service was 10/10. With the food, we got the Kara Misu Ramen and Tonkotsu Ramen bowls. The presentation looked great. Broth on both bowls tasted good. The pork tastes soft like fat. Unlike other places that serve pork, it tasted undercooked in a texture sense. Next time I'll come back to try a different menu item. read more

I've come to Kopan for what seems like years now. It's had its up & it's had its downs. The menu changes more often than not. Prices fluctuate and go up. Proportions getting smaller, salads getting bigger. Promotions that don't really promote any kind Of savings Recipes get adjusted. All that typicall recession economy idicators. But it's always been a viable option for some good food. But today I was shocked by how empty it was on a Thursday at 3pm. Something seemed off. I wondered because the service is quick and the staff is nice. Our appetizers were great no issues there. But apoun tasting my ramen it became more obvious to me why this place fell off and didn't have a soul inside. The tonkatsu ramen here use to be DELICIOUS. An experience of flavors and textures it was like cooked for 16 hours or something like that but idk if they got rid of that ,for some reason today my ramen was just bland and flavorless and not that hot and the meat was a little undercooked for my liking. I typically don't like to add too many condiments or chili oil to my ramen the broth alone should be able to stand on its own but it just did not. It was lowkey kinda nasty. And the noodles didn't help. And if I recall the last few times I've been here I recalled the same issue. The sauce on the teriyaki chicken was almost gelatinous. It looked like snot, it had this strange texture. I've never tasted something so gross. It Tasted worse than it looked and it looked terrible No joke. March 2026 After Disneyland, we decided to get some Ramen, which was the perfect way to end a great evening. Luckily, the location didn't have a long wait, so we were seated immediately. Our server came by within 5 minutes, and we both ordered the Tonkatsu Ramen (Nori, Green Onion, Egg). Previously the menu had (spice level options) but now they just leave the (spicy sauce) on the table for custom modifications. We wanted to get a few of the seafood appetizers but the location no longer serves the Fried Vegetables or Fried Octopus (has not been removed from the menu). On this cold night, we wanted some warmth in the form of ramen. To our surprise, they had happy hour going on, so we took advantage of that too. The yellowtail sushi was very good, fresh, & tasty. My fave item that we ordered was the yellowtail jalapeño - not crazy spicy, topped w/ fresh micro greens on top of a killer sauce. Our next fave item was the tuna atop crunch spinach. This was a sleeper - it didn't look or sound good, but it really surprised me! Best part was the sauce, which kind of had a nice lil kick, while the crunchy spinach softened beautifully in said sauce. The tuna was also delicious! We went here again for rice dishes. On a Tuesday evening, there were many tables available. I got the chicken katsu curry, and we shared the salmon skin roll. Unlike a prior visit, the roll had more salmon meat and less skin this time. The roll was still tasty. The chicken curry katsu came in a hot stone bowl with crispy rice. I liked the curry's texture, and it wasn't too soupy. However, there could've been a little more curry since I finished my meal with excess rice. The chicken itself was pretty crunchy with fairly darkened breading. It seemed that they fried the katsu almost to its limit with it still tasting good, however. For the price paid, I wish the curry had more vegetables like potatoes, carrots, or red ginger. These would've balanced out the katsu's prominent flavor. I did try some tempura: onion and sweet potato. Unfortunately, these weren't sufficiently crispy. They were limp and not really enjoyable to eat. All of the tempura, several pieces, had this texture. Despite this, the rest of the food was enjoyable, and I envision coming back just because the location is very convenient. I've loved Kopan Ramen both the Fullerton and Garden Grove location for many years but at my most recent visit 7/28/26 I noticed that the quality has gone down soooo much from our past visits , the Ramen has a different taste and wasn't as good as i remember it being we got a few sushi rolls and some were very poorly rolled, quality has gone down and price has significantly gone up and it's not worth coming here anymore sadly, aside from the quality of food the state of the restrooms was very bad as well they definitely looked very dirty and like they hadn't been cleaned in days. Just amazing. We struggled to find a parking spot at 5:00PM on a Monday. I got the Tonkatsu Ramen and my dad got the yummy roll. It sure lived up to its name! Although the tonkatsu ramen was fine, the yummy roll was just something else. It came with an amazing sauce that gave the littlest spice kick. The service was amazing, and I mean it. The spicy miso added a nice kick to the pork broth. I am a ramen maximalist and this had alllll the fixings which I really enjoyed. I was craving ramen and this bowl slapped. This strip mall gets really packed at peak hours. Sometimes parking is a challenge. If you go a bit early for dinner you'll for sure find a spot. Needed a good dinner and my friend recommended this place. I am not usually a fan of Japanese Ramen after a few bad experiences but I am happy to say that I was very satisfied with the food here (Maybe too satisfied because I was so full at the end that I needed a big bottle of San Pellegrino to digest after) Crispy Rice A staple food that I will always get a restaurants. I think the rice was too hard and hurt to eat. But everything else on it made it really good. They even topped it with avocado which added a nice layer of flavor. Alaska Roll This was more my style of sushi. It felt fresh and clean flavor profile. Yummy Roll This is more along side my friends style. With the spicy mayo and spicy tuna, it felt a little oily to me, but it was still good. One of those guilty pleasure foods that you know it's not healthy. Tonkotsu Ramen My girlfriend got this ramen. and this is not to say that it was bad. But once she tasted the Kuro Mayu ramen, this felt a little bland and boring. It was good on its own, but that is only as is. Kara Miso Ramen I got this ramen. It has a little bit of spice and felt like a gochujang ramen. Lots of good flavor dancing around in this ramen and it was a nice warm bowl of soup that was very much needed. Kuro Mayu Ramen My friend got this ramen and this is her go-to. A garlic-y ramen that some may see as heresy. But if you are willing to ignore the traditions, this is a good ramen for the normal American person. The tempura was great and everything was packaged well and kept warm/hot even after I got home and began eating it. We had dinner here after going to the axe throwing place close by and were seated right away. They're open late and we ordered multiple sushi rolls for the table and were delightfully full. I enjoyed the Jessica Alba roll and would get it again in the future. Parking is findable, but it gets pretty packed at night and on the weekends so it may take a few extra minutes but I'm always able to find parking in less than 10 minutes. Ordered second roll since it was half off happy hour (Wednesday 6pm) and the server suggested the yellow tail with jalapeño atop spicy tuna. I was pleased with the flavor once again. Beer choice is expected for a sushi spot. Asahi, Sapporo, etc. Happy hour includes Sapparo buy one get one for a buck (carefully cause these babies are BIG if you didn't already know). Parking seems tight in front, and some spots are not free...but just around the corner is a side street you can easily park free (N pomona ave). Service, seating, and food is nice and quick. Prices are typical for a sushi joint. Ambience is cool and dim lit. Seriously this is 4.5 stars. Only issue is I found some of the rice in my roll was a bit hard. But really NO BIGGIE. Overall the ramen and Japanese food struck me as "fine". Nothing blows me away but also not bad. Ramen broth got too salty for me but I expected that. I think the chicken katsu from my bento order was a bit dry and over fried, but it made it really crispy if that's what you like. Me and my sister came by before and we loved it so much that we came back again. Ramen here is delicious! They use thin noodles instead of thick noodles but the noodles to broth ratio is spot on. I feel like some places I finish my noodles a lot faster but this place served a very good amount, I was so full afterwards but in the best way. The taste of everything was so full of flavor and savory. Ambiance is super nice, it feels like you teleport to a different city and service was amazing.
