Was passing through the Bedford and had recently noticed this place was a new ramen joint. I had always known this place to be Taco Bell but it's always kind of a pleasant surprise when independent restaurant owners can come in and make it their own. I opted to order some of the (4 pcs) fried chicken wings as an appetizer but they told me would come out after my ramen. I said that would be fine. The chicken wings were fried with the same kind of batter you would get if you ever had dim sum and got taro root dumplings. Kind of a super flakey fried outside. They were piping hot and super greasy. Flavors were not bad but not my favorite. I also ordered some spicy tonkatsu ramen which was pretty good. It was fillng and it came in a pretty large bowl. The eggs were hard boiled in soy sauce which all these elements almost give it away this is mainly a Chinese influenced ramen restaurant and also alot of the other options they have on the menu are more chinese items, but I was here for their namesake of ramen. Wish the eggs were soft boiled but I'll still eat it, though they did give me 5 egg halves in my ramen which was a crap ton! Two tasty pieces of pork belly and a lot of noodles. It's a nice place to stop by and get an affordable bowl of ramen. My bowl was, I believe, $8.95. Especially on a cold day. Happy eating y'all! read more

I noticed there are a couple of bad reviews here but I don't get it. It's dang good ramen. Tried this place yesterday and was really impressed by the quality of the food. I had the beef curry noodle bowl and hubby had the basic Ramen. Both of them rocked! The standard add-in of sliced marinated hard boiled egg was a nice protein boost And if you're a vinegar fan like I am you have to try their's... They make it in-house and it is phenomenal. Swirl some in your soup bowl and fall in love. The woman who helped us was so gracious. You could tell she valued her customers and wanted them to leave happy. It is basic inside but clean and the music was good. I could easily see myself going here once a week. read more

This place is great for local ramen, basic, to the point, awesome flavor! I'm glad to see it doing well next to the Pho V noodle house!

Ordered last week for the first time AND the last. Since it is not a full-fledged sushi bar but a combo place with other Asian food, I would not say they excel at either. I have not ordered every dish they have, but you would think combination fried rice to-go should be a relatively easy dish to prepare and present. FAILURE on fried rice. First, for the size of the order, I ordered a regular order, but the amount of food provided was akin to a child's order. It did not even fill the bottom of the to-go box. This is very POOR. Flavor of the dish was more like China Wall fast food. On the sushi side, the salmon skin roll was decent. Next, pricing. Way OVERPRICED for quantity and quality of food. My husband and I were really excited to finally have a ramen spot in our area - especially considering our favorite pho spot's quality recently took a nose dive as they grew in popularity. However, this place used to be a taco bell - and the atmosphere is not very appealing and is very plain. The food was ok - but not great. The waitstaff however, was very friendly and attentive. The only major complaint with them was that we asked for sriracha (which we both adore) and they refused to bring us a bottle to add to our food - but instead gave us very tiny bottle with small servings. Given there is only chopsticks available - It was impossible to ad it to our food and was not nearly enough for us. Also - they do not offer fountain drinks - you must buy by the can. (I had no problem as I only drink unsweet teas/ water - but my husband was irritated). We will not be returning. read more

I was very skeptical about coming here. I'm a bit of a ramen snob. But its close to the house, so I gotta know - is it worth it? I had the curry ramen and an order of gyoza. The gyoza was not good - more like the frozen stuff you get at Super H Mart, made is the microwave. Forget the gyoza. When I order curry ramen in a ramen house, I expect Japanese style curry ramen. That's not what I got - it reminded me of a spicy Korean ramen I once had. Not bad, but not curry ramen. I'd give this place another shot. Ramen wasn't bad, and I'd like to try the others. This review is for the spicy tonkotsu. Decent. That's the best word for it. The broth flavor is great. The noodles are average. The meat is pretty tough. The egg is hard-boiled and there is no soft-boil option. It's certainly not authentic Japanese ramen, but it's not bad. read more

This place is not as the reviews made it seem I was very hesitant about going. In order the spicy miso ramen which was actually very good I had them make extra spicy. It wasn't the best ramen I ever had but it was tasty and I'll definitely be returning. The staff was very nice and it is a very clean restaurant. read more

Pros: Ramen soup is rich and pretty good. Dumplings were ok. Cons: Service is odd. The server asked one person at our table for their drink order then left. When she came back, she brought that drink for everyone even though she didn't take everyone's drink order. Scattered. A different server took our food order and he was awkward and chatty. We ordered fried rice and some other standard chicken dish. I asked for white chicken. They said ok but then brought dark meat. They were out of the pork for the fried rice, so they substituted bacon that was not cooked enough. read more

The flavor of their miso Ramen is the most similar that the one I tried in China. I love it!!!

Overpriced, poor service, and the food wasn't very good. The server asked if we wanted our food to go or for the restaurant and when we said for here she rolled her eyes and sighed... very disrespectful. So we changed our order to Togo because we were uncomfortable and when we got home our eggs in our ramen were brown and not very appealing... Highly dissatisfied. read more

Came here few days after them opening. Their dumplings were good but their ramen.. not so much. Their "SPICY" ramen wasn't even spicy and their spicy seasoning wasn't even spicy and asked for Sriracha and they didn't have any :( and no hoisin sauce either... better to go to pho noodle next door.. lol hopefully they improve their ramen and service! read more

This place is called Ramen Joy but there's nothing that brings or sparks joy about it. The place has no individuality, no character. Bare walls and bare tables, nothing adorns the walls or at least something that gives a restaurant a feel. The place feels like nothing. It's clean, but feels dead. The place feels like it has no soul. The food mirrors the interior. I wanted to try ramen for so long and now I'm disappointed. Bland and no distinctive flavor, eggs were overboiled and they definitely went skimpy on veggies. Please tell me there are better ramens out there! read more

Service: I was greeted and seated promptly. Our server was nice and very hospitable. Food and drinks were brought out in timely manner. We noticed something unusual in one of our ramens. Our server without being asked walked over and checked out the situation and replaced the bowl of ramen with no issue. Food: We tied vegetarian dumplings and vegetarian ramen. Both were good but lack in flavor and texture. The dumplings were too soft and the veggie broth could use some more seasoning. I went back and tried the Spicy Shiyo Ramen. Much better than the vegetarian broth; more flavor but could be spicier. More bean sprouts would be nice too. Price: Reasonable. All in all pretty good. Ramen Joy adds a much needed variety to the area's eateries. I'm giving them 4 stars because service was better than most Asian restaurants. Hopefully their food will improve over time. read more

Just went to this place tonight with my son, and we LOVED it! I'm not a Ramen aficionado, but my son is. I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in, we were able to sit in a booth and were given menus ( being in the old Taco Bell building, I thought it was more of a fast food place). My son got the spicy miso Ramen, and I got the spicy chicken ramen. Both were excellent. I didn't realize they had things besides Ramen, like orange chicken and sesame chicken. I'm dying to try the sesame chicken, but I loved the Ramen so much, I don't know what I'm going to do the next time I go there. Ramen is the kind of stuff I love to eat on cold days, so this is perfect weather for it! The staff is also extremely friendly and helpful. The dumplings are handmade fresh. Will have to try those next time too. read more

The service is great and the ramen is alright - if you want more spice, get the spicy ramen options. The only problem I had with the ramen was the pork, it was tough - I don't think they braise the pork like most ramen places. If they could fix that, I would come back. read more

We had the spicy beef ramen noodle. It was okay, it tasted very bland and it wasn't spicy at all. Overall, the service was good.

Had wanted to try this restaurant for months and finally got the chance yesterday. My experience was not good. I ordered the pork ramen. About half way through it i felt a foreign substance in mouth. When i took it out it was a piece of plastic about the size of a dime. I presume it was some sort of packaging material. When i told the waiter, no apology, just i will tell the chef. When i told the waiter about it, i said to him, i was not looking for anything, just wanted to let them know. Immediately after came the bill and quite literally four separate attemps to remove our bowl and plate. My partner ordered the udon noodle and was also quite disappointed in her food. The description mentioned vegetables but all it was was two leaves of lettuce. As for my ramen, the broth and noodles were ok but the two very small pieces of pork were fatty. This restaurant failed across multiple levels and me and my partner will not be returning. Food, service and experience all failed. read more

I wish I seen the reviews before I came here I was soooooooo disappointed. I ordered crab Rangoon and seafood pho. The crab Rangoon was over cooked with little bit of cream cheese and "crab " which he roof of my mouth still sore. Then ..... I got my food the noodle were not what I expected they were the 15cent noodles from the store not the noodles I am use to. Little to no flavor broth I couldn't even finish it. Sooo I will stick to going to the other noodle place next door. This experience really ruined Pho for a little while. read more
