I eat here so frequently I should have my own table. I like that you are able to build your own ramen. I feel like this is great for people who have health restrictions. Like if you can't have too much MSG or if you are vegan there are options. And on the flip side. Their ramen is just some of the best I have had in the states. They don't take reservations and it's a small space so keep that in mind if you are coming at night or when it is LA cold/raining. Parking lot can be a bit annoying as there are a few other restaurants that get steady business in the strip mall.

Ramenya has been a WLA staple for many years. They serve consistently delicious Japanese food. Their ramen is good, not the best but good and large portions. We ordered the garlic fried rice with white meat chicken which came with a small bowl of chicken broth. Both were very flavorful. The agedashi tofu was really good, the broth was strong. The service is attentive and top notch. Very friendly neighborhood restaurant. We will definitely be back!

Seriously the best place to get ramen. If you haven't tried it you're missing out. The flavor of the ramen is so addicting and delicious. The service is also awesome and honest. They even offer outdoor dining with a couple tables in covered tent. We tried the tan tan which is SO good, highly recommend. It even comes in cold or hot and the flavor profile changes based on temperature. Sometimes when it's too hot I'll order the cold ramen and it's VERY refreshing. Perfect for LA weather! Can't wait to come back and try more ramen! Parking is very convenient in a lot right in front.

I needed a place to hang out for a couple hours so I found a place to eat! A friend and I visited Ramenya over the weekend. Before checking out the place I looked at some Yelp! reviews and most on top are from my friends but their posts were outdated. I gave Ramenya a chance as it was local to where I needed to be. We ordered a ramen each and a couple of appetizers. I never had raw octopus with wasabi so I was curious to try. My friend isn't as adventurous as I am but she was willing to try and she actually liked it the appetizer. It does some with a slimy and tough to chew consistency but it pairs really well with the amount of wasabi they added, plus very good with beer. We added goyza to our order and they were different from other places I've had goyzas at. These were plump and very filling. The taste was great as well! My ramen was the Asianya tantan ramen. I noticed there was a whiteboard as you entered and that was the #1 choice. So I decided to check it out. I enjoyed it while adding another level of spiciness to it. I wished the spice level was more higher but maybe we can fix that another time. Overall we both enjoyed our meal. I arrived early and noticed how quickly the tables started to get filled. So arrive early! Parking: small private lot. neighborhood parking is also available on Barry and Barrington VERDICT: Rinse and repeat

    Cold Noodle!

Awesome shoyu ramen and tantanmen egg drop! Their cold noodle is amazing! Great chicken salad and daikon salad. Really good fried rice! The shoyu ramen is as good or better than I had in Japan! Highly recommend!!!

My friend and I getting ramen!! So good!

Round 3!!! And just as good as ever! I got the Tokyo Galbi Reiman and it was good. Came here with 5 of my friends and all of them thought it was great and would like to come back! Servers were very attentive and our waters were never empty. Love how easy it is to talk to other people at the table here as it's always quant and enjoyable. I like the addition of the blackboard showing recommendations!

We came here last Friday with our family since the wait Nextdoor at oops sushi was too long for our kids lol. The restaurant is super casual and perfect for a chill dinner. The staff was so warm and welcoming and super kid friendly. They brought over kids plates and utensils and unbreakable glasses. We weren't having meat so we got the spicy vegan ramen and tanmen ramen and the kids split a kids ramen. It's pricey but pretty much what everyone is charging for a bowl of ramen these days but the portion sizes are big! We also got the eggplant and garlic string beans which were yummy. Big plus was the ramen came out HOT. Not warm but HOT. I always get annoyed when it comes out warm lol. It was a great dinner and we will definitely be back on a night we can eat meat and go big with the pork. Ps. I've been coming here since I was a kid. It's nice to know it's still serving good ramen despite the changes surrounding it.

    Cold Noodle (Hiyashi)- refreshing!

Such a cute little place and the servers were nice and attentive. The cold soup is refreshing+light and the apple slices are a nice sweet touch

Chicken karage and Thai Noodle Salad

Wow wow wow! This place looks so unassuming but they pack a PUNCH! Highlights: - Parking lot with space available - Clean interior space - Friendly staff - Food was 10/10. Eggplant miso was as good as the reviews on Yelp say - flavor was high impact and super umami. Chicken karage was perfectly cooked: crispy on the outside and super moist and juicy inside. The marinade (the traditional ginger flavor) had penetrated into the meat so every bite was delicious. Comes with a cabbage salad with delicious sesame miso dressing. Thai noodle salad was my favorite - refreshing and filled with acid. Not super Thai, but did the job. I also got the egg drop tan tan ramen - broth was delicious to drink on its own but flavor wasn't strong enough to penetrate the noodles. Excited to come again to try more dishes!

We have been craving Ramenya for their Tenshinmin which is a ramen with crab omelette on top. We have been a customer for many years since they were on Olympic Blvd. we arrived before they opened on Saturday, 8/6/23 and decided to eat at a restaurant on Sawtelle. We then ate again at Ramenya when they opened at 5pm. We were so excited and the taste is still there, loved the nostalgic feeling and memories of eating this delicious ramen. The service was fantastic! Everyone was friendly and attentive. The ambiance is modern, clean and cool. They have tables available for dine in. My daughter ordered the short rib bowl which is a boneless kalbi and rice with a side of miso soup. We enjoyed our meal. Just wished there were more noodles in the ramen. The kalbi was good but pricey for the little amount of food you get. It was nice to be back and whenever we crave for tenshinmin, Ramenya is the place we will always go to. Definitely worth the try if you're in the area. Parking available.

"Laksa Ramen" (It looked and tasted like curry though...)
    Stephanie H.

We had the Tom Yam and Laksa Ramen. The Laksa wasn't at all what I expected to be, but the waiter confirmed the soup was indeed their Laksa. Based on both the looks and the taste, I don't think they made this particular ramen with the actual flavor of laksa in mind... I was convinced it was curry. The flavors of both the ramens were good, just not what I was expecting from the laksa broth (having previously had laksa in Singapore). I wouldn't have the "laksa" ramen again. As for the Tom Yam, it was extremely spicy...so much so that you really couldn't taste much of anything else, but I like spicy so it was still an item I enjoyed. I also liked that there was a good amount of vegetables in the soup and topped with lots of cilantro! Service was good. Overall, a positive experience.

If you have not been to this ramen spot, you are missing out! I still remember that broth like it was yesterday..... so flavorful, so rich, delicious umami flavors. That's the mood that pulled me into Maruya in Little Tokyo, Los Angeles. I ordered the chashu tonkotsu, the classic go-to when you want to judge a ramen shop by its bones. And the verdict? It was... fine. Not bad, not memorable -- just okay. The kind of bowl that doesn't offend you but doesn't linger in your memory either. No standout richness in the broth, no chashu slice that made me pause mid-bite. Just noodles, doing their job. This is actually the second ramen spot I've tried in Little Tokyo, and I'll admit -- I'm starting to feel a little underwhelmed by the neighborhood's ramen scene so far. For a pocket of the city with so much culinary history packed into a few blocks, I expected to be a bit more wowed by now. Two tries in, and I'm still searching for that bowl that stops me in my tracks. What did stand out, though, was the service. The staff at Maruya were genuinely warm and helpful -- attentive without hovering, quick to check in, the kind of hospitality that makes you want to root for the place even when the food doesn't quite deliver. It's the kind of detail that softens an otherwise middling meal. So, Little Tokyo ramen crawl: two down, verdict still out. The people have been great. The noodles? I'm still waiting to be impressed.
