they are not qualified for all autos. they didn't have the correct gas cap to pressure check my 1991 Mitsubishi mighty max pickup. their cap leaked after multiple attempts. Then they printed out that my truck failed when it was their wrong cap that leaked. I told them that they FAILED their smog check due to their improper equipment and they gave me a no charge and sent me on my way. read more

In the past I have gone to other smog locations, had to make appointments, and still waited at least an hour for it to be completed. As evident by other reviews, this shop has it all. When I arrived, there were 5 cars ahead of me, and I was promptly advised how long the wait could be. The shop has two bays, so the cars moved through more quickly than I expected while I waited in a comfortable room. My pre-2000 pickup passed easily; I paid, was thanked, and happily on my way. I have been using Ramona Smog Station for all my cars (and a motor home) for about 6-7 years. Jimmy and his crew are the best. No BS, prompt and friendly service and a fair price every time. Jimmy also helped me get a project car (never buy a non-CA car that your son thinks will be a great project) road worthy. The large number of times I had to come back had me concerned I would wear out my welcome - this was not the case. Jimmy gave me tips, contact info for a local expert and best of all - always was glad to see me. I have an older car (2002 Acura), and it was my third attempt at getting it passed at this location. The first time, we had just replaced the battery and the computer was not reset completely, so it failed. I returned after driving what I assumed was enough miles (50-100) , and the computer was still not reset. The technicians understood, and let me go and drive the 50 miles they recommended, and I returned the following morning. They were quick, I arrived at 8:05 and they were finished by 8:25, and they were extremely kind! My white, fluffy dog was in the back seat, all in their business when they were trying to do their job. I asked if they'd like me to calm her down (she loves meeting new friends), they replied she's perfectly fine. I passed the third try, thanks to their support, recommendations, and help. They go above and beyond other smog stations I have personally been to over the years of having to smog both my car and my elderly parents' vehicles. Their prices are also very fair, especially for the service and friendliness they provide! I paid $58 dollars for a smog, but larger vehicles will cost more. Thank you so much, Ramona Smog Station! I think this is the only test only smog station in Ramona and has been open little over a year. The other 3 or 4 places offering smog checks are repair facilities. It's also one of the only places open on Saturdays and doesn't require an appointment. There can be a bit of a line, but since its check only and the operator is efficient, it moves pretty fast. If you have a late model car that usually has no smog test challenges, this is the place to go to whip through without drama and at the lowest price in town. read more

My car (which failed at Ramona Smog Station) was tested this morning (at another Smog Check-Only Station). The only repair was reconnecting the Oxygen Sensor that Ramona Smog reported was already connected. Car passed, first try. I'm happy about this, but if I had just gone to another station to begin with, I wouldn't have wasted time, money, and misinformation about my car. read more

Took my truck in and was in/out in about 15 minutes with no appointment. The technician asked if the check engine light had been on or if I'd had battery issues which I thought was very nice. Instead of wasting money and time he warns you up front that you won't pass if you have these issues. The technician was very friendly, knowledgeable and the price was the lowest in town ($48 with the certificate). Will definitely be back. read more
