I want to preface the 4 start review saying the food was 5+++ stars. We happened upon this food truck on our way home on the 140. Kids were griping and hungry as we'd left too early for our normal stop. I saw the truck and hopped over to hang the left and make the stop. The menu isn't huge, it's focused clearly on what they do so well. I got a burrito - the ultimate to go, on-the-road food. Al Pastor supreme burrito was amazing. The first thing I noticed was how they put the burrito back on la plancha to crisp it up. Oooh, nothing better than a good tortilla, the smell that wafts up as you open the aluminum wrapper is pure goodness. Filled with pastor, super juicy and tender, rice, beans, tangy & spicy green salsa, crunchy onions and sour cream, this was a real treat. Every last bite was worth the drips that snuck through the wrapper... The tacos were so overloaded with meat! Both kiddos had asada tacos, and again the meat was tender, juicy, flavorful. The green salsa us just so darned good!! If I'd known I'd have asked for a cup to take with. The corn tortillas had good flavor enhanced by the time on the plancha and held together really well with the juicy tacos. Gal at the window was friendly and answered all our questions with a smile. If you're in the area, or on the road nearby, make the stop. You will be so happy you did.

Solid spot. It's my go-to when driving in to Yosemite and need something filling. They're right next to a teeny market and because of that they don't sell beverages. You got to go in the market for that. I guess that's the deal for parking their truck there- they help one another's business out. I've gotten a burrito, quesadillas, and tacos. Can't say anything bad about any of them. Good portions and tasty. I wish they had extra sauces included. Cash only!

Cash only truck!!! I ordered a torta and 3 tacos and they were so good! The food here is Better than most tacos spots I've visited. We stopped by on the way back from Yosemite and were happy they were still open. I used the cashback option at the tiny store next to the truck to get $40. It was enough and we still had $15 leftover. If you're on your way to Yosemite or back, stop by and have something to eat.

I ordered an al pastor burrito. I'm not sure what they gave me but it was reminiscent of hamburger helper in flavor and texture. My husbands lengua burrito was flavorless. I understand al pastor flavor varies, but I expect some kind of flavor. If you didn't have pastor you should let the customer know, not fry up some nasty fatty salty meat. Save your money, I wish I would have waited until we hit merced. I called to try to get ahold of someone but they didn't pick up.

We only stopped here because we wanted food along 140 and needed enough space to park our truck and travel trailer. Now, this will be a stop anytime we come through this area again. I love everything about this taco truck. It brings everything that I remember from getting food on the street in Mexico, except of course from a truck. The portioning was huge (burritos) and despite getting a veggie burrito it was packed full. Grilled onions and a chile on the side...yum; I put it all inside my burrito along with salsa verde. I really shouldn't have eaten it all, but I did, and I loved it. It's all no frills and really cheap. Seating is at one picnic table under a shade tree. The truck will do to-go orders if you call them. My family of four ate for less than $20.

Best tacos in town and anywhere else around. Ramon and his family are courtesy and friendly. We called in our order because he's very busy, which is a great sign. Their tacos, burritos and quesadillas are what we normally order. Grilled onions on the side for that extra kick. read more

I don't expect you to be reading this. In fact, I don't expect you to be out here at all. But, if you do find yourself in this neck of the agricultural center of California, don't miss stopping at this amazing taco truck. I LOVE Ramon's taco truck. He is such a nice man and always greets with a smile. Love coming here with my co workers. Quality of the food is D-ELICIOUS!! Yummie in my tummy good. I absolutely love this place when I'm in that area of town. I've been coming here for a long time. Their tacos and super burritos are the best from a taco truck. I always get a side of jalepenos and grilled onions to go with my burrito and tacos.. Very tasty. The prices have gone up but not overly expensive. Still well worth. There are always a ton of people here too... Great taco truck food! read more

First time trying this place it's okay. I ordered the supreme burrito. Was a little disappointed that it only came with lime no grilled onions or peppers. The burrito it's self was a decent size for the price. It was just a little sloppy. Over all the place is decent enough for me to return. read more

Best Taco truck i have ever been too. I am from the bay area and the bay area has nothing on this golden gem of Ramon's tacos. I jave been to many places in Mexico, and once again they have nothing on this guys tacos. I usually get asada, cabeza and tocos de lengua. You cannot go wrong with anything on the menu. My daughter loves their quesadillas. Most def my spot when i am in the 209. Tacos are priced at a good price garnished with grilled onions and topped with a slice of avocado. read more

Really loved the tacos we got here! We got 4 carnitas tacos at 1.50. The carnitas were tasty - and not too greasy, which is always good, and best of all, the tacos were topped with a tasty salsa, onions, and AVOCADO! Yum! read more

These are hands down the best tacos anywhere on the planet or in the Planet for that matter. I remember when Ramon made tacos at the Tres Palmas in the early 80's and he has only gotten better with time. Open until about 1030 all summer. This place is Kanaka approved!!! ONOLICIOUS read more

I love tacos so I'm always looking for a taco truck to try. This taco truck has been here for years! The owner is very nice, service is very fast and you can also place the order by phone to pick it up. Meat can be kind of plain at times but other than that one of the few good tacos trucks in the valley read more

This was a perfect little stop on the way out of Yosemite. The staff and locals were super friendly and the food, of course, was amazing. We asked for 2 tacos each and just had whatever they recommended. We got beef tacos with the lot and they were great. Highly recommended. read more

Definitely some of the best tacos, burritos, and quesadillas in the Planet (Planada). Can't go wrong with anything on the menu from the lengua or cabeza to the more traditional carne asada or al pastor. Also, there side of grilled jalapeños and onions are delicious (must ask for them). Absolutely recommend this if you live here, are just passing by, and/or a quick visit to a nice and friendly community. Well worth the trip. read more

Ok so let me preface this review with some worthy facts.I love tacos. So naturally I have some insight on a good taco and a bad taco. Tonight I was leaving Yosemite at about 8 and was super hungry. Being as that I love tacos I stop here for a bite. I walked up ordered al pastor tacos and went to pay with a credit card. The lovely lady taking my ordered told me they don't take credit and apologized. I said I'm sorry and walked to the building next by to see if they had an ATM machine. They didn't. As I walked out to walk back to my car and heard someone yell "excuse me". It was Ramon himself calling me over to tell not to worry about. He said pay next time. I told him I live in Santa Cruz and he said don't worry about it. This man was going to give me my meal for free. Luckily I remembered that I had a roll of quarters in the car and was still able to pay but the fact that he was willing to give me a meal for nothing blew me away. You don't get much of that out in CA I've come to realize. To try and sum up the story anytime I am in the area I will always go to Ramon's. Family owned and family values on top of superb food that is incredible in quality and taste. That's why this place gets five stars. Favorite Mexican food place in CA read more

Worth the drive for the tacos. I didn't like the burritos, but my boyfriend did. But the tacos were best in the area that I've tasted. They also come with grilled onions and avocado, which is rare. Customer service is exceptional. read more

Superb flavor with every choice of meat! The employees are super friendly and love to have a conversation with their customers. The burritos are dank as all hell, best deal there to be honest. Only downside is that they're cash only, but that's not a problem with the liquor store right next door that gives cash back. Amazing food. The best part of my trip, entering Merced from Mariposa, is this Taco Truck. I always have to bring cash though. No credit or debit. With that said, Ramon has nothing but the best of spirits! Every time I see him, he's happy. And asks me how I'm doing! So friendly. Like a distant relative. And his son as well. They are so kind. The burrito is delicious. The carnitas are cooked just right. I've yet to experience anyone else who grills their meat the way they do. Always a pleasure. read more
