I mainly stop here for happy hour. Their house beers are $3 and most appetizers are half off. Those are great deals. I especially like the flat bread with crab dip and chicken. A downside is, the draft beer is NEVER cold. I would come here more often but I'm tired of beers bordering on tepid. Also it seems like they might not have enough fryer capacity, as the fried foods I've had are never quite cooked enough or are oily, like the fryer doesn't get up to temp. We love the Ram's Head in Annapolis and Crownsville, and we're always near the Shore House, so we decided to pop by for a late dinner and drinks. It was really dark when we walked in and almost empty, so we sat at the bar and waited for someone to acknowledge us, which took SURPRISINGLY long for an empty bar. This set the tone for the evening; the 3 waitresses/bartenders basically ignored us and it was obvious they didn't want to be there. One girl with dark hair was way too interested in counting her tips and we tried to get her attention for over 10 minutes. It's a shame, because we would have had more than one beer. The clientele also left something to be desired. There were lots of people who had obviously been over-served, including some drunk women who knocked into me several times while dancing up to the bar, and this really weird, VERY drunk, coked out older man who kept telling us he had a $14,000 check in his pocket and a bushmaster assault rifle at home. They kept serving this guy liquor too, which was not appropriate at all. I also got some rude and disgusting comments from some older men at the bar when I walked by to check out the beer selection. I guess that's what happens when you have bartenders that don't care. I enjoyed my fajita cheesesteak, but I think I'll skip this sketchy place from now on. I went here earlier this month for an end of work celebration. Needless to say, the customer service was atrocious. When we came in, there was an issue with our reservation. The person who made it accidentally made it for the wrong time (about an hour later). The employee who informed us of this made it seem like we couldn't stay...keep in mind that the restaurant is almost completely empty... After settling in in a booth, we were given menus and told that happy hour wouldn't start for another hour. It took me forever to receive my check and then no one came back to get it.... I legitimately had to go up to the bar and personally ask the bartender to run my credit card... I would understand if the establishment was crowded, but there was no one in this place! This was our first time at the Shore House, but we've been to Ram's Head in Annapolis and Savage several times so we're familiar with the beer and menu. It's a quaint little bar, a nice place for some afternoon drinks and grub. Real convenient to pull off Rt 50 before heading over the bridge. The menu is pretty much the same as the other Ram's Head locations, but we noticed the addition of fried pickles (which we love). They were thick cut slices with lots of breading and a chipotle mayo dipping sauce. Very yummy. The spouse had the black bean burger and I had the fish tacos. We were both pleased with our choices. And the Fordham beer was good as usual. read more

Breakfast - both times we went it was for breakfast, the biscuits were great and the seafood omelet was really flavorful. We really enjoyed the sauce and came back here a second time due to how successful it was during our first visit. The food was average at best, our waiter was on the ball and did a fantastic job. However the atmosphere was among the worst I had ever experienced. Half the staff including those who appeared to be management just stood behind our table hanging out and talking the whole time. They were loud and obnoxious. One guy in a Motly Crue shirt leaned up against the back rest of the booth during our meal. That place seemed pretty big. This was my first time at this place. I went with my parents and my girl friend. I was very please with our meal. The price is reasonable, with almost the entire menu under $20.00. The menu consist mostly of the usual bar fare type meals. I ordered the Southern Pickle Chips and the RT 178 Cheese Steak. The Pickle Chips were very good. Everyone at the table enjoyed them and I found myself wishing I had ordered a second round of these yummy chips. The cheese Steak was surprisingly one of the best cheese steaks I have ever had! It was cooked perfectly, and the peppers and onions were grilled to perfection. It was worth the $10.95 and then some. I sampled the fare from the others at the table. My fiance ordered the Oyster Po Boy. I am not a huge fan of fried oysters (I prefer then raw). However these were cooked wonderfully. The one bite I had was pretty good, even though it was not my thing. My fiance LOVED it and said she would get it again. My father ordered the Prankster Perogies and a Romaine salad (seemed to be a special, as it was not part of the regular menu). The perogies were not like I am used to, and seemed as if they were baked not fried. They could have used some more cheese. They seemed as if they were frozen from a box and not made on site. It was the only down part of the meal. His salad was good, however he said he would most likely not order it again. The service was excellent. Or server never let our glass go empty and was happy and cheerful and attentive to our needs. Over all we all enjoyed our meal. I recommend this great out of the way place to anyone, yes even tourist. read more

This is my favorite breakfast place on the Island! All my favorite breakfast foods and great coffee. I had the biscuit sandwiches which were amazing and a side of my beloved scrapple...it was cooked perfectly and had perfect flavor. The iced tea was freshly brewed which is a must and. I can find one thing that wasn't perfect. My breakfast companion had the creamed chipped beef which was fantastic and the perfect blend of gravy and chipped beef on huge slices of toast. I would of sampled more of his but he ruined it with hot sauce (he's a novice creamed chipped beef eater)! I highly recommend this restaurant and I hear on Sunday's they have all you can drink Bloody Mary's with purchase of your breakfast! Wow!! read more

The food is very good! We have eaten here 3 times- twice for dinner and once for breakfast. We really really enjoy the crabby tots appetizer. I would definitely recommend the food. BUT service is not the best - the first time we went the hostess and our waiter were both in super crappy moods and just not friendly at all. The second time wasn't much better with our waitress. When we went for breakfast the waitress was a bit more friendly. So if you want good food and can tolerate grumpy wait staff- go for it. Wait staff doesn't bother me as long as I get good food. read more

I've been here twice for lunch and both times were pretty nice. Most recently, I met a friend and actually sat in the dining area vs the bar area. Not big but it doesn't have to be. Even though it was the "lunch hour" it wasn't very crowded. Probably because of the location. Generally the food is OK. I had some salmon with some kind of blueberry sauce on the side. Both were kind of warm-ish vs hot but all in all it was nice. We had a nice, attentive waitress that kept our glasses full My guess is that this is a happening place at night. If you want a nice, quiet, leisurely lunch and you're on the Eastern Shore, this is an OK place to do it. read more

Found this gem thanks to Yelp. Right off the Bay Bridge heading out of Annapolis. Just missed brunch, settled for local crab cake sandwich and hubby had marinated steak wrap. Local beef we were told. The plus with this place has the best beer list from all over the world! Tons of specials here. We hope to return. Went there Thursday Night the trivia was the only decent thing that was there. Service was really slow. The food was horrible my steak came out rare when I ordered medium. My girlfriends steak sandwich was burnt. The drink orders to 10-15 minutes to get and tasted nothing like they should have. Additionally there was a altercation with a female manager and a patron that lead to punches and 4-5 other individual restraining the patron while the sheriff department was on the way. We are regulars at rams head for drinks not food. Being it was my birthday we decided to order to go food and have drinks while we waited. 1. Our drinks took forever and tried to give us a different drink than we ordered 2. 45 minutes go by after ordering our food I notice the table next to us, who ordered after us had their food, meanwhile there's several food orders at the hostess stand for pick up, asked our waitress if ours was over there and it was, sitting there and now cold 3. We get home and my sons order was wrong, daughters had half the amount of an order if we were to dine in and the shrimp for our salad still had the shells on it. Horrible experience. The bartender wouldn't serve us because we had different government issued identification. We range in age from 32-40. Rude patrons told us to "just get out". We were all kicked out because of having "all different types of identification". This was after an unfortunate lunch we had where the server told us that she wouldn't give us menus because she was too busy helping another table. We've all just recently moved to the area and it's unfortunate that we won't be coming back. Our other server for lunch, Derek, was awesome, and he worked really hard to make sure we had a great experience for our friends birthday. Decent place for sandwiches and appetizers. They are hit or miss for me, which makes it hard to come back frequently. The service is really inconsistent. There are times you get someone good and attentive, who can make good recommendations on their beers. Then there are other times you have a server who is down right terrible and you sit there all night, tracking them down for refills, silverware, etc. read more

We stopped here for brunch around 11 am after a wedding at a nearby inn the night before. The server took 5-10 minutes to take our drink order. We got the sense things were running late so we went ahead and ordered our meal with our drink order. 30 minutes later, no food yet. While waiting, we noticed that the servers were all frazzled and several parties that had been there before us hadn't even been served yet either. No update from the server notifying us or apologizing for the delay; we had to flag her down. We decided enough was enough. Since our order hadn't even been started yet, we told her to cancel it and left a $5 to cover the crappy orange juice I made the mistake of ordering. Terrible management and a total waste of 45 minutes. And we're still hungry. I can't imagine how much longer we would have had to wait to finally get our meal. read more
