Whatever you do, make sure to consider "never" supporting this company unless you would like to waste your valuable time and or money. It's Dec 31st, 2024 and I just resigned my tenor at Brooks - Ramshaw as a tow truck driver, after 6 months... and it was by far the absolute worst experience i've ever had working for any company. 1st red flag, they only trained me for a week before they sent me out on my own to run orders, mind you... I had absolutely no experience in the towing world. As you might imagine, mistakes would be made when not trained properly. Indeed a few mistakes on my end occurred, minor ones at that. Not a major ordeal until the company started showing their true colors with the way they confronted me when these situations happened. Not only were they rude when discussing these minor issues, they always looked incredibly annoyed, inconvenienced and bothered. As matter of fact, these were the type of energies that everyone felt on a daily basis. In addition, the owners never seemed happy, they were always moody and never encouraged or appreciated their employees. The energy constantly felt stressful and condensed with darkness. I didn't expect much coming from a tow truck - automotive repair shop, let's face it, they're not the sharpest tools in the shed, pun intended... however, I didn't expect the unprofessionalism, the "throwing me under the bus" by certain employees, the snitching, speaking behind my back, and the belittling tactics used with their Troglodyte - Neanderthal ways and childish linguistics. To be quite honest with you, it really had me questioning whether or not this was the right place for me to work when these types of incidents happened. In addition to that... when I would run jobs for CHP there were officers that had negative experiences with Ramshaw and they would tell me about it, that's why CHP went with another tow truck company. Also, I noticed that i would tow a lot of the same vehicles "back" to the shop to get repairs because Brooks - Ramshaw would perform unsatisfactory work... many customers were not happy with the quality of work... or should I say lack thereof. The last straw for me was when I would overhear or read text messages on the company group chat -texts "on a daily basis"... of owners and some employees that would speak poorly of customers, calling them names like idiots, retards, dumb asses, tweakers, assholes, dip shits, and many other names that were extremely disrespectful... again, this was the owners and some employees. At that point I just had enough and had to put my notice in, there were just too many red flags within the short duration of my employment. Now I want to make this clear, this is not about all the employees, there were some good ones there, it's just the poor management, the unprofessionalism, and the constant "daily" negative energy, it was a horrible place to work and now I know why there's an incredible turnover rate with their employees. Any reasonably intelligent person would know that when there's a huge employee turnover rate, something's wrong with the company, and it's usually the management. That was the main problem for me, aside from the fact that there's no comradery there unless you're kissing the owner's ass, which is not something I will never do, to just fit in or climb the ladder, so to speak. That is what I experienced there. Everyone reading this, plain and simple, the majority of employees there are really young and the management seriously lacks experience with conducting themselves professionally, they do not express humility, they do not know how to deal with stress appropriately, there's no Human Resources type professionalism when issues occur, they lack integrity, honesty, and care. Also I might add, I've spoken to previous employees and they've mentioned to me that they too experienced some of the same traits, as well some of them were cheated with their paychecks. What I realized, Just like many companies out there... it's just about the money and how much they can squeeze out of their employees and customers, that's all they care about. There's no exception for Brooks-Ramshaw, this is their MO "Modus Operandi" for sure. As an employee that spent a solid 6 months paying very close attention to how they operate... it is my honest opinion and suggestion that you highly consider seeking alternative Tow Truck companies and automotive repair shops if you're in need of quality and professional services. If you need your vehicle repaired in Mount Shasta I would recommend Bjers, Point S, or Siskiyou Muffler... for towing, contact Black Butte, all of these companies have a solid reputation and are incredibly professional, respectful and they do amazing work... I know, I would either work with or take customers to these businesses and hear the many positive responses. Stay clear from this company, they do not respect or appreciate their employees nor do they respect or appreciate their customers. read more

We got stuck in a remote location as it started to snow. Even upon leaving as there was some trouble towing our car out of the area, the tow driver was able to get us out of there despite the setback. All while on the way there he communicated with us about his ETA and whenever he was getting ready to put on snow chains, etc. With AAA he was willing to drive about an hour from his tow shop all the way to a spot north of Mt. Shasta. The driver, Quentin, was communicative, personable, reliable, resilient, showed perseverance, and was willing to drive us back to the nearest city. The inside of his cab was as clean as a whistle, further showing a level of responsibility and professionalism that is much appreciated. So even though he later admitted that he was reluctant to pick us up from the spot we were stuck in and it was a long ways away, he still remained persistent in trying to find us. This was all while doing his job well and keeping a good attitude about himself. Even upon being billed at our destination he kept his word on what he would charge us, which was a competitive and affordable rate far more affordable than the other tow service we called. read more

We broke down near Dunsmuir in bad weather with our 2 dogs. David the tow driver went above and beyond his duties to help us out. He recommended Brooks Complete Auto Repair to fix our Dodge Diesel pickup. He also took us to a pet friendly Best Western in mt. Shasta who's hospitality was great. Brooks Complete Auto Repair knew Diesel trucks well and fixed the cracked fuel injector line just like David said , great mechanics at a great price. Our experience in Mt. Shasta with the kindest people everywhere we went made this experience one of a kind in a good way. Thank you again David for your compassion and the best recommendations we have ever had including Brooks Automotive , Best Western which was also located next to the original Black Bear Diner and several other restaurants and stores. Okay. Words cannot begin to describe how incredible my experience was. Quick (Yes, his name.) was fantastic. I was stuck on I-5 about 30 miles north of Redding while on a solo road trip from Portland OR. Van broke down and was stuck on the highway for 4 hours! AAA messed up and kept delaying me but once I got Quick assigned to me he got there pretty quick (lol). Even helped me figure out how to fight off a different tow truck that was trying to pick me up before he got there. I had been stuck for so long he offered to stop top get water if I needed and he's overall is a standup human. We talked the whole way into town and this guy is the fricken' MAN. Genuinely cares about people and he's working HARD. Give him a raise and a hug. Tell all other tow truck companies to "kick rocks" and use this place. 10/10. read more

Got stranded 40 miles north of Redding. Phone got wet kayaking so no way to easily call for assistance. Settled in with a paperback and a flashlight, figuring that CHP would find me at some point. Quick saw me from the other side of the highway, took the next exit and pulled in behind me. Not sure why, but my AAA card wasn't in my wallet so Quick made the call for me, got approval, hooked up the truck and took us into Redding. To top it all off, he dropped me at the hotel after delivering the truck. I appreciate the friendly humanitarian service. Had my 72 Triumph TR6 towed today from Castella back to Red Bluff. The young man did a great job of loading and unloading the car. He was very meticulas in his hooking up the car and preparing it for transport. Because of the lack of good hookup points he took the extra time and effort to ensure that the car would not be damaged as he pulled it up onto the truck. Before wenching he showed me what he had done and explained why he attached the pull cables in the manner he done. He assisted me in unloading the car and helped push it back into the garage for repair. They were prompt and extremely curtious. read more

I was on my way to Eugene Oregon from Santa Rosa, CA. My 16 year old transmission died in Mt. Shasta City and wasn't worth the cost of refurbishing or replacing. Kylan Quick towed me almost 90 miles to a Medford car dealership where I "traded in" my old vehicle and bought a newer one. Quick, as he's known, was incredibly efficient, very professional, a great coversationalist, and all-around good guy. My otherwise difficult experience was made enjoyable by a guy with a tow truck. Craig is awesome!!! My Mom, cat and myself were stranded on the side of I-5 waiting for a tow in 97 degree heat between Weed and Yreka. Craig arrived well within the 2 hour window AAA said it would take. He was very nice, especially with my 85 year old Mom. He helped me get her and my cat (in the carrier) up and into his truck. On 4/30/21, I had a truck breakdown in Weed California (near Mt Shasta) Good Sam had my truck towed to Redding California (Ram Dealer). Nate at Ramshaw's Towing pick up my truck on time he even called to make sure I was ready and time when he would be there. Let me tell you. I can't say much about the towing company as a whole but Dave, one of the workers, was a really cool dude! He continuously kept me informed through phone calls, text messages, until the tow truck got there. It took a few hours but the dude did not leave us astray. Quick came to our rescue after we got our rental SUV stuck in our gravel driveway of our rental house. It was stuck on an incline and was very difficult to extract because of all the pine trees around the driveway but Quick did it in a friendly and professional manner.
