They also offer a lot of fresh and frozen seafood. You can find a lot of groceries from all over the word here. They also sell some home decor, some kitchenware, and live bamboo plants and an assortment of Asian Pots and Asian Ceramics. This isn't a fancy place and also seems a bit worn. When you walk in you can the remains of a restaurant that is no longer in business. This place is great but- There is so much stuff that it is actually hard to find the things that you are looking for. I also didn't notice signs to direct you to particular countries or even continents. The biggest problem with shopping here are the very tight aisles. If you see someone with a cart there isn't enough room to go around them. Checking out can be challenging for some because it is like a maze with all kinds of things in your way so you have to figure it out. They also have a lot of merchandise that you don't see it until you are on the way out.

I love you Greenland!…read more I made a terrible mistake. I decided to order collagen masks on Amazon that said Korean formula. 4 masks in and a super dry, red face later, I saw on the back in small print made in ROC. Ugh. Seriously Amazon? Never again. I'm sorry I cheated on you with Amazon, Greenland. I learned my lesson. I put 30 masks in my basket and headed for the deli. 30 masks?! Yep. They are only 89 cents, but here's the thing. Korean beauty products are held to a higher production quality standard than US beauty products. And that means I'm not going to have an allergic reaction. ROC means the ones I got from Amazon were actually made in China. Their standards are nowhere near Korean standards. Like I said- lesson learned. So I got $30 worth of masks and $30 worth of deli, and a couple Monster energy drinks for Adam. I have the ingredients to make my own cucumber salad at home, but Greenland's is so much better. I got yeolmu putnaechu- which tastes like bok choy kimchi to me. I grabbed stir fried fish cakes, which are long flat strips and are so sesame yummy. I got soybean sprouts, Korean glass noodle stir fry and kimbap. These are all serving size containers. If you love all of the little appetizers you get at a Korean restaurant - that's what these are. And they are wonderful. Take a look at the photos I took of the vegetables. They are super fresh and Greenland has some harder to find options. I looked for Asian pears, but they must not be in season. If you love Korean food, you need to go to Greenland. It's the cornerstone of our neighborhood in Chinatown.

Definitely like comparing a flagship market with the neighborhood bodega or corner store. Good selection of Korean items, noodles, sauces, peppers, you name it.. but just not as lively or glitzy as before. The little bakery and other concerns outside the store were empty. The food court was pretty busy, that's probably why the parking lot was packed. I mean it was OK, just not like the old days.

For an Asian supermarket, I was surprised by the limited selection of fresh fruits and vegetables…read more The produce also appeared to be of questionable quality, so we decided not to purchase any. The dairy selection was equally disappointing. I specifically went in looking for an unsweetened milk option, but none of the major brands they carried had one available. Pricing was another letdown. A 24-pack of Nestlé water was priced at $8.99, while we purchased a 28-pack at Smith's for $4.99. There also doesn't appear to be a rewards or loyalty program, making the higher prices even harder to justify. The store layout was confusing and disorganized. It felt more like a swap meet than a grocery store, with missing or limited aisle signage that made it difficult to find what we were looking for. Finally, there was a small shop near the front of the store where an older employee was loudly talking with another employee, repeatedly using profanity throughout the conversation. I understood what they were saying, and part of the conversation involved making negative remarks about "foreigners". Whether it was intended as a joke or not, it was uncomfortable to hear while shopping and came across as very unprofessional, making the store feel far less welcoming. Will not be going back.

So, me and the other girl on my crew decided to check out the local 99 Ranch market deli. I know they have good food to go and you get to see the food before you order it! Some of the selections are quite authentic ... like chicken feet and deep fried little smelt fish or one dim selection that looked like white jello something. There other "normal" looking stuff too, like all the noodles and stir fries as well as I love the BBQ meats, like duck and BBQ pork and the deals they have on fried chicken! I got a bunch of food to go, and what we don't eat, I'm sure the guys on the crew will finish! I got some BBQ pork buns, BBQ pork spare ribs and fried chicken. I skipped the duck this time. All the food tasted wonderful as expected. The buns could have been warmer, but that's what a zap in the microwave is for at the hotel. We enjoyed the food and it was no hassle to get. Basically point and they get it for you, unless you speak Chinese!
