I'm assuming the couple who helped me are the owners and were very gracious in assisting me (temporarily handicapped) in finding what I needed and loading it the car. I want to point out that some of these reviews are not for this market - they are for a place the next center down which has a restaurant side, shopping carts and conveyor belts etc. This place does not. I was searching for poppadum and was heading to a place I found on the google machine. I took a wrong turn and pulled into this shopping center. As it turns out there was an Indian market in this center as well. Small and dark from the outside I was unsure but decided to try to walk in. This place is like an Indian market Disneyland. I told the man what I was looking for (asked if I was pronouncing it properly) and he immediately went to grab some options for me. They had exactly what i was craving (cumin). Looking for a good selection of Indian groceries at a good price with kind management then check New India Market! We were pleasantly surprised with how much we got for less than $35! Plus the items we got were super tasty. The naan and paratha in the frozen section were good. The owner was super kind as well and super helpful. I came to the market today to check out their stock intending to buy Indian simmer sauces to make my own Indian dinners at home. I have been to one other Indian market in the area--the one near UNLV. This one is much closer to home and it proved to be a good stop. The shop is small, but it is well organized and had what I was looking for. I got some different simmer sauces and a jar of very hot curry paste for adding to any of the sauces I use or to add zing to something else I'm making at home. As I was finishing my walk around the aisles, I noticed they had bags of frozen rasgulla. It's on the list for my next visit for sure. As I was looking, the owner pointed me to an area to check for an item I was looking for. With my bag of goodies, I went to counter and I was checked out quickly. Service was friendly. I am so pleased I made the short trip down Sahara to get some simmer sauce for my chicken breasts waiting in the freezer. read more

This place is exactly what I was looking for... it had all of the harder to find quality Indian ingredients I needed and the guy that was working was really helpful. He was talking on the phone with his mom and she even gave me some recipe tips over his speaker phone. Super cool experience I will not forget:) read more

New India Market is a much tinier store than Rani's in the shopping plaza next driveway over. Yes its crowded, but there's a ton of stock and I found everything I needed. Although it was cramped, the store is organized. The isles width are literally suitable for one person and a carry basket. I filled that basket. I would like to learn to cook the type of food I picked, but I need easy going stuff right now. They are here to help people like me :P. I have my faves: specifically garlic naan; and they had lavender incense. I bought all the lavender incense that was left on the shelves. Store also has hair and beauty products. Another customer who was trying to figure out my nationality hahaaaa - told me about their hair oil to strengthen his little girls' tresses. I'll keep that in mind. Something I'd try... They sell DVD movies and herbal type meds. I like their tea selections and they come in big boxes. Both loose leaf and tea bags are sold here. But they don't have anything for the loose leaf kind. At home, improvise... I'll use a coffee filter. If it weren't for the kindness of the store manager, this would only be a 3 star review. But she was really friendly, told me stories, and gave me some educational tips on teas; and also storing teas, incense, spices separately in the cabinets. This is the place I'll be coming back to for garlic naan. Especially cuz they come in large value packs. Works for me! read more

I have been to this store several times for spices for many of the Indian dishes I make, There are some people at the counter who have been polite to me and others who have seemed hostile and rude. On my last trip there I had waited patiently for someone to come ring up my purchase. There were a few people working at the back where they sell meats and I let them know I was ready to check out. I was told someone would be with me when they were available. I waited another ten minutes as the three people who I knew worked at the store were talking with the one customer at the back. I finally went back and again asked if I could be rung up. I was told that I needed to wait until the other customer was done. I asked how long that would be, they said it would be a while. The customer they were helping was a male that from all appearances and the fact that he was speaking Hindi with the employees, suggested he was from there culture. I am not from India, but to my delight have family who are from India who have sharred with me the great food and culture. I had always felt staff at this store was a bit cool to me, but this time it just seemed rude. I have since found another place to shop, which is a bit more of a drive, but the service is worth it. read more

This is such a great store I am so happy I went there. When I first arrived in Vegas I had gone to the bigger Indian store nearby and they had far fewer items, and associates who were unwilling to help. This store may be smaller but it is packed with anything and everything you need for indian cuisine, north or south. And the man who runs the store is always there and is extremely meticulous in his job duties and customer service. He is perhaps the most helpful store associate I have met in Vegas. He took so much time and care to make sure I found everything that I needed and that all questions were answered. I am really only familiar with Tamilnadu and Sri Lanken cooking so I had a lot of questions for him and he answered every one very thoroughly and was such a kind man he really made my day (which hadn't been going very well up until then). He talked to me about ingredients and recipe ideas and nutritional facts of the ingredients. He even talked to me about life and gave me some good advice for living in Vegas. And when he noticed that I was going to be walking home and that my water bottle was empty he gave me a free cold water to take with me on the way out. He is such a good person and store owner with such a great Indian store. I highly recommend everyone visit and get some yummy food! read more

Let me start by saying one thing. I've only been into this location multiple times out of sheer convenience since I live far far away from my store of preference "India Market". After coming to this store, I don't want the "New". A lot of the product tends to be old. Expiration dates seem to be missing on many items here. Very few items have a price tag. What that means to you, is that you never know how much something costs. Sketchy. The store is ridiculously cramped. One person can fit through each aisle. The overall cleanliness of this store is suspect. I don't expect ethnic stores to be super shiny and spotless, but I expect certain levels of sanitation. Dust on produce is unacceptable. One last note: In the Indian culture, it is customary to respect your elders (who are a generation older) by calling them "uncle" or "aunty". That's respectful. The guy at this store had the audacity to call my just over 50, mother...."aunty". You'd think he was being respectful, right? He would be, except he was just as old as my Mom. This is more of a review about the restaurant part of the business. The grocery area seems to have a nice selection of Indian products but I didnt have alot of time to view. Seems like the grocery store would be 4/5 stars. With the being said the restaurant is amazing. First of all the prices are as good as it gets when it comes to Indian food in las vegas. 3 Jumbo sized homemade samosa's with chutney for $3.50! A very filling Thali will set you back $10. Food is made fresh to order. Furthermore the food is really delicious. Everything is vegetarian and many of the items are vegan. The management is also very friendly and happy to help. Nasty UNSAFE place to shop. 127,000 dead and thus store has not even put a plexy glass to protect employees and customers. I did not see them clean the grocery belt or anti bacterial bottle at entrance. They won't even clean the grocery cart. They are making a fortune in Covid crises yet they are too cheap to protect us.
