The quality, flavors, craft menu and cocktails makes you want to dress up for this 5 star experience and yet the staff's warm greetings, plaid shirts, candlelight whiskey barrels and friendly service make you feel right at home. So what do you call a restaurant that is upscale and casual at the same time? I will have to think about this. The food was out of this world. My husband called it Disneyland for the tummy. Everything in the restaurant is intentional and by design and it shows... from the art you see on the walls, in how smoothly and cohesively everything and everyone flows, and how gorgeous the family style meals are presented. I love how they source their food, grind their own burger meat (amazing bestburgerever) and how the owners and staff love what they are doing. They have not just brought a great restaurant to Bend, they have created a wonderful environment that I can't wait to go back to visit over and over again. I highly recommend RBC! read more

Probably the best food in Central Oregon. We got 3 appetizers and two of the steaks. At the time we ordered they didn't have any of the dry aged ones available so we went with the hanger and something else but I can't remember. The hanger is to die for. I work hard for my money, and if I pay 70$ for a steak with nothing else, it should be a quality experience. I have eaten at restaurants around the world and until now walked away with something good to say about most of them. I live in Bend and have for a long time, that being said , I don't like feeling ripped off by a sub-par restaurant. paying for sauces? the service was the only thing worth mentioning. We tried this restaurant this week. Heard it was delicious. That truly was an understatement. It was superb. It's served to share. We ordered the ribeye steak. You could cut it with a fork the steak was so tender. We also tried the spinach and potatoes. Both delicious. There was enough left over to take home for the next day. Cocktails were perfect and let's talk about the dessert...We had the cheesecake. So fluffy and nothing I've ever had before but I'm salivating to try it again! Lol! read more

I want to give this restaurant more stars based on the food, but this restaurant is just not worth the hype. Once again a restaurant has come into Bend with mediocre food a high ticket price, poor service, and a loud and uninviting atmosphere. The amount of time we spent waiting for a table even with reservations, waited for drinks, waited for a server, met two of them, but only so they could tell us what they were out of, neither actually helped us. We continued waiting to order appetizers and then again to order dinner, long after our appetizers were finished was beyond neglectful. When our server would emerged he would take our order but incorrectly and so not wanting to wait for new steaks to be cooked our guests ate steaks that were overcooked. At this price point, this is not anywhere near close to the level of service one would expect. Throughout the meal, we were not able to order another round of drinks or comment on the food because our server was absent. I have never been at a restaurant hoping to impress guests only to have them leave disappointed. The food is good, but due to this very embarrassing display, we will continue to frequent Bend restaurants (Zydeco, The Drake...) that have both their food and their service on point. read more

Went last night after hearing some hype about the place. First I'll say that service was fantastic. Our server was great. Friendly, attentive and did a great job. The food tasted good! Everything was cooked well. We shared a porter house , creamed cabbage ( which we both agreed was our favorite) baked potato. Tried the bone marrow and octopus small plate. All delicious. The reason for only 3 stars is that it is all pretty overpriced and the portions are very small. Our porterhouse was only about 3/4 inch thick. I'm a part time butcher and usually a porterhouse is cut 1-1/4 inches minimum. It's the king of steaks and should have a wow factor when it arrives at the table. This didn't. It sounds like a lot of food but after spending around 260.00 ( including tip) we left feeling like we could have been more full. In closing, nice place, great service, good drinks but way overpriced. For this kinda money I'll go to black steer, blacksmith or About any other Steakhouse around and leave satisfied. Recommend you give it a try but just know you're paying for a trendy San Francisco vibe and will be charged for everything including 4.00 for two tablespoons of horseradish which frankly we found ridiculous given the price of the food. read more

We had an absolutely wonderful experience at dinner last night. The service was superb, the food was beyond our expectations (totally didn't think to take pics). We ordered the bone marrow, tartare, Snake River Rib Eye, creamed cabbage & baked potato. It was definitely enough food for 2 to share. I understand what folks mean when they mention the noise level. It is definitely not a swanky, white linen, stuffy type of atmosphere. We sat the the chef's bar and enjoyed every minute of it, I considered it dinner with a show :) It was great to watch the kitchen staff at work. If you are looking for a peaceful, quiet atmosphere, this is not the place but, if you can deal with the noise level then the food definitely makes up for it! The service was impeccable. While we had an "assigned" server, everyone really chips in to make the experience enjoyable between filling our water, making sure we have clean utensils, checking in with us and the attention we received for our special occasion visit. The service is five star!. The Ambience feels Modern Cowboy and a lot of fun. It is high end and expensive , the portions are huge and large enough to share. The steaks, are tender, we have had the T-bone steak several times Their Burgers are phenomenal if you want to spend less. The cocktails never disappoint and they make a great Pisco Sour, even though it is not on the Menu. We love this place. read more

We came here without a reservation and were able to sit at the bar. The restaurant is beautiful. We had several starters and all were absolutely delicious. Cocktails and wine list was very good also. Enough is enough. I've enjoyed this restaurant immensely over the past year or so. I'm going back to old haunts or trying new ones though. What I liked most of all was being able to have interesting cuts not so widely available. Well, you can forget that unless you want to book a table for 4PM. At 7:15 you shouldn't be out of everything that differentiates you from any old steak house. This has become a consistent issue. The staff was as ever, very apologetic and comped part of our meal. That's not what I want though. It's not a one time thing. I can have a "good steak" at any number of local places. I definitely don't expect to pay upwards of $80 for a porterhouse that looks like it came from a Safeway butcher case. I also don't expect to wait twenty minutes for a drink. I pride myself in caring for the staff that busts their behinds to give me a great experience. As a rule my tips are at minimum 50-75% when dining at a nice establishment such as this. I left 20% tonight and I'm not sure I'll be back. I feel bad as it's not on the server but maybe this will put some pressure on. There are a few places in Bend that are always special. Disappointed to find that on a more consistent basis, this isn't one anymore. read more

I hesitate to give only 3 stars because the food and service are always great. But the noise level is just getting off the charts. My wife and I were literally shouting across our small table to be heard. I kept looking around for a table full of conventioneers but it was just ordinary folks enjoying their dinner. Btw I have excellent hearing so I don't think it's me. The owners need to seriously consider mitigating the noise level with acoustic panels or something. Exceptional Steakhouse with average service. Started with Popovers and Hushpuppies; both were excellent. Next we ordered the Kansas City and the Snake River Ribeye. Both were cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. Only negative was that they were out of both the Aged Snake River and the Cowboy. As for the sides, the creamed cabbage was an amazing surprise as was the fried corn on the cob. While the baked potato was tasty, for $12, it was a rip-off. So small, that it would take three of them to amount to a normal size steakhouse potato. The service was mediocre at best. We ordered iced tea and requested artificial sweeteners and he forgot it and never brought spoons. Also he neglected to check on refills. Hopefully the service will improve as I believe they are still doing their soft opening. If the service had been better, this would be a five star rating as the food was exceptionally good. read more

What an amazing dinner we had! I recommend you have a party of four at least since food is served family style and you share. Because there were four of us we were able to share a wonderful selection of steaks, salads, appetizers, sides, and desserts! The food was really good, our group didn't love the cheesecake we actually didn't like it, no big deal for us however the waitress seemed overly offended that we didn't...like there was something wrong with all of us and how dare we not like it. Probably my 4th or 5th visit to RBC in bend. This spot is the number one restaurant in bend hands down, no questions asked. Ambiance and feel of the space is exquisite, I don't need to be in a suit and tie, but I could be if I do chose. Servers are the nicest folks you could ever meat and provide more than service, they provide an experience. Food is cooked perfect every time. Every meal I have had makes my socks go up and down. I have dipped my metaphorical toes into each cut of meat by this point and each bests the previous. Great feel/interaction between employees which creates a better atmosphere for patrons. Can't recommend enough, will be making many many many more trips. read more

I was in Bend on vacation from Portland and lucky enough to grab a reservation on their second night of being open! I have missed Chef Gorham's food so much and it was a treat to taste some of my old favorites with some great new items. We shared a few steaks, the cedar plank salmon, hush puppies, radicchio salad, baked potato and the corn. All were excellent. The desserts we ended with were also fantastic! The build out of the space is warm and modern. The service and team approach they use was efficient and friendly. Bend is lucky to have this new spot. My only wishes ...... hurry and start brunch and add the Korean chicken on the menu! read more

Had dinner here last night and it was the best dining experience we've had in years. The service was excellent, the food was AMAZING. We had the pop up roll and a few bacon wrapped dates to start. We weren't going to get any appetizers because we didn't want to fill up, but these looked small and we're so glad we tried them. Both were delicious. I had the scallops and my husband had the salmon. The scallops were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The salmon was beautifully grilled on a cedar plank and was delicate and tender. Both were perfectly delicious. For sides we had the potatoes bravas and the spinach. Both were amazing. We weren't planning on having dessert, but since the whole meal was beyond expectations, we decided we had to see what they could do! I had the affogato and my husband had the grasshopper milkshake. Again, beyond expectation. What a wonderful evening. On our way out, we met the owner and she was absolutely delightful! Don't hesitate. You need to have a meal here! read more

Excellent place for beef lovers. They had a great selection of steaks. We ordered the hanger steak & Teres Major, both delicious! We also sampled the Chicken liver mousse & potatoes brava. Everything was so good. We sat at the Butchers counter, where you can watch the talented staff prepare your meal. Best seat in the house, as far as I'm concerned. Food was pretty good, the atmosphere and decor is cool. The service was awesome! We went in on a Saturday night, no reservation because they were. all booked out. The hosts put us on a waiting list and the, kindly pointed up to their neighboring business to grab a drink and check out the space while we waited.
