Our 1st Visit! We walked in on one of the warmest evenings we've had in a long while... and we thought we walked into a refrigerator... so cold in that place... never warmed up during the entire meal. Was colder inside than outside. Food: Hmmm... do you like OLD rice and re-fried beans... and LOTS of them? The rice was all clumped together and mushy... the re-fried beans were okay. The Carne Asada was sliced very thin... maybe 1/8" thick... tasted okay. The "beef" enchiladas... looked and tasted more like a can of chili with meat & beans wrapped in chewy tortillas. The menu did not say "beef & beans"?!?! The queso is not worth the $3.99... would've been better to melt a block of velveta and add rotel tomato sauce... it tasted like it was almost burnt. Mexican restaurants normally make their own queso with good Mexican cheeses. The chips were cooked until dark and had a burnt flavour. Oh, the kicker after the lousy $50 worth of food... they charge $1.98 for using a debit card. You know... a check used to be same as cash... and the debit card made it so we could do the same, but, out of our checking account... so, we wouldn't have to carry cash like we used to. I tried to explain this to the guy... that it is not a credit card. He didn't care of course... so, the owner gives their self an extra gratuity for you eating at their place no matter what card you use. We were thankful that the large to go box, full of old rice & beans, was worth bringing home to the dogs! Hey, we've actually brought home food, from some restaurants, leftovers of meat, rice, etc... and our dogs wouldn't even eat it! read more

The food was wonderful, the service stellar a very pleasant experience overall if the outside of the building were spruced up and made more appealing with some bright colors to reflect a more "fiesta-like" setting business would surely improve. Rancho Alegre catered our party for 15 people and they completely nailed it! Everything was delicious! They were so easy to work with when ordering. Mary and I ate here for the first time on Saturday this week. It has a cozy, long established feel. We were greeted by a very friendly staff person as soon as we walked in. The chips and salsa were quickly delivered; they were standard. The margarita and Zombie were tasty. Mary had the Arroz Con Pollo; boneless breast of chicken sautéed in their special sauce, with onions, mushrooms, and tomatoes, served on a bed of rice with jack cheese, topped with fresh onions and tomatoes. Had this for the first time tonight, the Chile Rellano was very good, as were the beans and rice. The problem was that I ordered two Chile Rellano combo plates, so my wife and I could both enjoy the Chile, but they only made us one combo plate. So my husband is born and raised in NM and I spent over 14 years there... One of the things I miss the most is the food and finding authentic Mexican food in WA has not been easy. I am happy to say that this place is great... Food was so very good... Waitress at first wasn't overly friendly but warmed up by the end of the meal. I had a taco and releno combo... yummy. My husband had the enchiladas and releno combo and he raved about it. My 2 year old granddaughter loved the rice a refried beans... She even tried the releno and liked it. If you have a problem, they do not try to fix it or ask if there is anything they can do. They try to explain it away talking really fast and then they hang up... There Nachos are not Nachos. It was just chips cheese and the meat, Burnt around the edges for 12.00, if you want real nachos, they call it the 'house nachos' and charge a higher price... It was all over priced... We were not impressed at all . We had lunch here this week and it was pretty pathic. I was not impressed by their chips, I don't think they are freshly made but store bought and they had a bitter aftertaste too them. I was disappointed that my taco shells were store bought also. I don't understand why a Mexican restaurant would not make fresh fried taco and tostada shells. I would not be surprised to find that even the meat in my tacos was canned. It just all was so uninspired. Even the tomatoes were just big slices laid on top of the taco. I had to cut them up and put them in. By the time I got to the second taco it was so soggy from sitting in the beans that I could not pick it up to eat. Thats when after it fell apart and I tried to eat it with a fork that the meat just left me grossed out. I hope they get their prioritys straight soon because in such a small town you can't afford to put out this bad of food for very long. read more

Simple rural mexican restaurant. The salsa is nice, and the chips were warm. Not sure about the folks who reviewed and complained about the chips, they were fine. There is a large selection on the menu - something for everyone. We were a party of 6, and our food came out within 15 minutes. There were plenty of folks out for dinner there on a Sunday, which to me indicates the locals are happy with the fare. All of our food, from burritos, to house specials, was good. I would not hesitate to eat here again when in Deer Park. read more

This had to be the worst dining experience I've ever had. Got there at 7pm. We were rushed by the waitress from start to finish so they could shut it down and get out since no one else in the community apparently wanted to be there on prime time Saturday. I already knew the food was going to be just OK since I had been there before. My plate was served so hot they must have put my precooked combination order on the plate and in the oven...or maybe they nuked it in a microwave. Who knows? Definitely low grade preparation. It's close to the house but seriously I'm going to have to take the extra drive and pass on this place no matter how hard up I am for Mexican food. read more

My family eats here quite often - love the food and the staff are polite. My husband like the salsa - I think it has too much cilantro (just my opinion). But I like the food, especially for a small town. We have had large family gatherings there and they have never messed up our order - I think that is a huge plus!! It is not the best Mexican but it beats driving 45 minutes to Spokane and messing around with traffic. And the staff knows us and can pretty much guess our order even though we only come in every few months! read more
