Had a great visit to Rancho Allegra! There's a great family atmosphere, the staff is super friendly and the food is delicious!! I wish there was a take out option that didn't require delivery but that's really my only downside. It did look like some of the names on the menu items were different than what is shown online, but we enjoyed everything we ordered. The chips and salsa were delicious. We ordered the enchiladas rancheras, enchiladas Jalisco, and the steak and eggs. All the food had great flavor and everyone was satisfied with their meal- almost felt like someone's Tio or Tia was whipping up meals for everyone. We will definitely be back for more! read more

The food here was delicious! We had a little bit of everything, molcajete, surf and turf, seafood fajitas, and queso fundido. All of it was excellent, cooked well, and tasty. The salsa and green chile sauce had a nice little heat to them. The micheladas were fantastic. Our server was kind and generous. Um, yum! My boyfriend and I only live about 5 minutes away and decided that this would definitely be one of our go to spots in the area. When we first walked in, the smell threw me off as it was kind of like a cleaning/stale smell to me. I soon got over it, however. We were allowed to choose where we wanted to sit and chose a booth with plenty of other options as well. We ordered Queso Fundido, my boyfriend got 5 asada tacos, and I got the carne asada. Everything was so flavorful, warm, and just delicious overall. We also got the fried ice cream which was unlike any fried ice cream I've had before-it was fried in a different shape and pretty yummy. Food not good. They used something other than ground beef. They sell it as ground beef, but it's not it smells and it's too too small crumbly it just was not good. The service the waitress took forever to come take our order. She took forever to refill our drinks, it was not a good experience. The ambience was not good. The atmosphere was cool. I think more people should be hitting this little gem of a spot up. My wife and I ate lunch here for the first time. The restaurant is nicely appointed and inviting. The chips and salsa to start were fresh and tasty, though more seasoning would have helped. The huevos rancheros I ordered were good. The stars were the beans and rice, because the chili was a bit plain and had zero zip. My wife had a chili relleno and chicken chimichanga. My experience at Rancho Alegre was completely unacceptable and honestly appalling. While eating, I found a live ant crawling inside my ceviche. This wasn't a minor issue -- a live insect in a freshly served dish clearly points to serious sanitation and cleanliness problems in the kitchen. When we brought this to the staff's attention, their response was not only dismissive -- it was downright unprofessional. We asked to speak with a manager or the owner, and they refused to give us a name or let us talk to anyone in charge. There was no apology, no sense of concern, and no accountability whatsoever. To make matters even worse, they still tried to charge us for the ceviche, the very dish that had live ants in it. That is absolutely unacceptable. Any responsible restaurant would immediately remove the item and apologize for the health risk -- instead, they acted like nothing was wrong. This wasn't just disgusting -- it was disrespectful and alarming. Rancho Alegre failed at the most basic level of food safety and customer service. I will never return, and I strongly urge others to avoid this place until serious changes are made -- or until the health department steps in. This place is expensive!! So we did not venture too far into the menu for our family of 4. We got an appetizer sampler which was about $20 and then 5 street tacos for $16. Honestly, we would have left without ordering but had already sat down and ordered drinks. Definitely check the menu prices before you go if that is a concern of yours. The restaurant itself was ok but did smell of sewer. Maybe because the bathrooms are up front? I gave it a 3 because we didn't really try the food but the photos online do look really good. A low-key Mexican restaurant with a nice vibe, great staff and tasty food! Walked in at 12:30 and there was hardly anyone inside which makes me sad because the food is great. There are a couple tvs and there are several different seating areas. They could also definitely accommodate bigger parties as it wasn't busy. Every staff member that we had an interaction with greeted us with a smile and were lovely people. The menu is extensive and it was hard for me to choose something to eat. I decided to go with a safe option and got the order of 5 carnitas tacos for only 11.95. I got 2 more tacos for the same price compared to another place I went to a month before. A great value for the price and wow were they juicy and flavorful. Some of the best I have ever had! I'm not from around here (CT) but my group found this based on reviews. The skinny margarita was strong on orange flavor (I love orange) so I thought it was delicious. The only little negative was the amount in the glass is smaller compared to a regular margarita. The chips/salsa has really good flavor. For my meal I got the chicken tacos. Five street size tacos. I had the enchiladas suizas and the flavors were excellent. The ground beef was tasty. The chicken acted like it had been boiled first but it was very edible. The rice and beans were fresh and hot. Sauces tasted home made and had lots of flavor. However, the salsa and chips were average. The salsa for the chips was a bit watery. When I saw this place was rated a 4 star I was hopeful. We were visiting from out of town, so didn't have much to go on. The food was DELICIOUS, and the drinks were too (except my jalapeño margarita was a little too spicy for me). However, service was terribly lacking...maybe it was an off night or a language barrier, but we had to ask for things way too often like water, chips and tortillas and our tab and felt like a bother when we shouldn't have especially because it wasn't even that busy. My family of five went to this restaurant after a soccer tournament, and wanted Mexican food. Saw what was around us and this restaurant had amazing reviews BUT they're WRONG. My daughter got a kids nachos and it was only chips with melted shredded cheese on it, for 9 DOLLARS. My husband got a tamales and it was INEDIBLE.
