This place is hit or miss. For my dinner I ordered a bowl of menudo and it was really fabulous. Our server was Jessica whose English was great but she also spoke Spanish and was incredibly sweet and helpful. My soup was hot and had a really good balance of tripe meat to hominy ratio and a perfect amount of soup base. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The place was clean and bright inside which is a change from one of my previous experiences. I would love to sit outside but access isn't very good and the road noise is terrible so I stayed inside. read more

I hate to give a bad review since my last experience was the first bad one, but it might also be the last time I ever order here. I ordered a California Burrito and it came with no Sour Cream or Guacamole. Since I am not in the habit of opening up an already rolled burrito, (why would I) it was pretty much eaten before I realized that. When I went up to the window and told them this they came back and handed me Sour Cream and Guacamole and closed the window. It doesn't make me want to come back even though I had never had a bad experience before, but craving something and this being the result, on top of prices being a lot less reasonable than they have been this makes for a bad experience, giving two stars instead of one since I had lotsbof good experiences prior. read more

Stopped in for steak breakfast burritos from a client recommendation and have zero regrets. Super fast through the drive thru and yet still could tell it was freshly made. Did I think $9.50 for a burrito was steep? Yeah I initially did but really it's the size of 2 from any of the area competitors so there's that and it was really freaking good. Some of my coworkers and I decided to get carry out for a team lunch before the holidays and Fritangas is very close by. Sadly, everything was just eh! I ordered the enchiladas tricolor and we split some queso con chorizo. The enchiladas, rice, and beans all lacked any flavor... some salt would have made a huge difference! The chicken in my enchiladas was also very dry. The queso was ok... with a tad more flavor but it was just a giant clump of cheese with chorizo on top. Yes we got it for carry out, however we work very close by so it should have been still goey had it been freshly put together. Went here for date night, needed somewhere close! Outstanding service! Natalia was top notch, we didn't have to wait for attention, she made sure we were given anything we could want! I ordered the Mole Chicken Enchiadas.... Ohmygoodness! So tasty! I will definitely order this again! We usually come here for breakfast, but my dinner was worth returning for! Quite impressed! (Margaritas were amazing as well, highly recommend the cucumber margarita!!) My guy got the carnitas. Order arrived missing at least one item from all three orders. The food tasted like it was cooked by a disgruntled employee on their final shift. My girlfriend's "steak milanesa" wasn't even a quarter inch thick at its biggest part. I measured because I thought it was a joke. The rice is the equivalent of 3 day old bad Chinese leftovers from questionable restaurant. It was agreed the only thing of quality was the containers the food came in. Until today, this was our favorite Mexican restaraunt in the area. Today we placed a takeout order of a chimichanga and a burrito. Both were supposed to smothered. $26 and neither was smothered and the clerk said he put plastic flatware and there was only 1 pack so my partner and I had to share 1 fork and we thought it has become overpriced for what you get. I'm not usre if they have changed management or what but they have gone downhill and overpriced. read more

Stopped here while driving around the area in search of some Mexican food. And we definitely found it! Don't let the outside appearance fool you....it's a quaint but busy place inside! Service was good and pricing was even better! I ordered the three asada tacos plate which comes with guacamole rice and beans...and all for just $10. My boyfriend ordered the enchiladas suizas and that comes with two enchiladas rice and beans also only for $10! They also do serve chips and salsa and the salsa they have is wonderful. We got full eating the chips and salsa that we only ate about half our meals and ended up taking home the rest for dinner that night. The place is a bit small so I think a lot of people end up doing take out. But for the price and the excellent food it can't be beat! read more

Garbage. Ordered delivery (Door Dash), and to their credit the order was correct, I guess. The chimichanga was as described, but barely fried. It didn't taste bad, but it was just a chewy mess. Flavor wasn't bad, but I gave up half way through. It was food, but not enjoyable. I ordered the "Super Fritanga" off the Tortas menu, and it looked nothing like the picture. At first I thought they sent the wrong item, because it was just a cheeseburger with some goofy toppings. Looking back I see that the same item is listed under Hamburgeusas for almost a dollar less, and it does look like the burger and fries I received. I thought I was ordering a special grilled sandwich, kind of like a Cuban, based on the picture. Not sure if they have two different items on the menu with the same name, but either way it was a trainwreck. For $16 they sent me a burger and fries, and I could barely take three bites. I didn't realize it was a silly novelty item and not something meant to be ordered for real. And $6 for a side of rice and beans? Not family size, just a side for one. Really? If I was served this garbage in the restaurant I would send it back and walk out, but instead I threw most of it in the trash. We tried this little spot today after church. We got breakfast tacos and a breakfast burrito. They were so good. The tacos I had were bacon, egg, potatoes and pico de galo. Delicious. My husband got the steak breakfast burrito. It was HUGE. He really enjoyed it. The lady at the drive up box said the tacos might take a little longer, but they were ready when we pulled up to the window. The food was fresh and hot and hit the spot. Newly opened 02/23/2015. Things are still a little confused, but service extremely friendly. Dining room seats about 50-75 ppl both booths and tables. Was nearly filled for Tuesday lunch. Their menu is enormous and breakfast is served all day. No waiting area for to go orders makes things clumsy for sure. I was also clued in by the owners son the drive thru would be open by April 1st. The patio will be open over the summer. Not planning liquor license for a few months or maybe end of summer at the moment. I'm glad something new came to this location. It needed some new life. I'm awaiting my to go order. If it's any indication of what's to come, it sure smells good in here! Updated: I ordered shredded beef burrito with red chili. I am so glad I did! Shredded beef was tender and full of flavor, burrito was stuffed. Big enough for a hearty appatite or to be shared with a neghibor. Red sauce was also a nice surprise as it was flavorful and not just tasting like a bunch of cumin and chili powder like some places nearby. Also shared Queso quesadilla. It was on the smallish side, but again stuffed with melty queso fresco. Nice addition to the neghiborhood. read more

Pleasant experience on Federal/Alameda and seeing this one opened up here, got me lil excited. Its very old Taco Bell building and I was looking for no frill Mexican breakfast that packed good values and still tasted decent. I know the other location had plenty of breakfast specials and always packed. However.. none of those to be found here. Didn't even see the pan handler like the other place (hope not) The interior was clean, newly remodeled/ painted and friendly family staff working and I would definitely give positive points for that. breakfast I got (forgot the name but it was two strips of bacon, heaping portion of hash browns, other half of the plate filled with chips smothered with green chilli and topped with one egg scrambled for $10 with side of tortillas). Tasted very meh bland and green chili was very sour and reminded of cheap jar I got from local grocers. It was overloaded with carbs and served with more carbs on the side. I would definitely not order this anymore. ...dont ever get this. Paid over $13 including tip and I was very disappointed for today's visit. my stomach still feels uneasy from overload of green chili. I wish nothing but the best to the owner and the staff and thank them to for being courageous to venture out and open another restaurant. However, I m hoping they will really see the feedbacks from fellow Yelpers and do the drastic changes if they want to survive at this location. Surprise, Surprise, Surprise, and this place has mostly good surprises at that. I have watched this particular building for many years. It was built to be a Taco Bell many years ago. It has housed coffee shops, donut shops, more coffee shops, and was abandoned for many years. When I saw a new restaurant opened, I figured I would try it before it was gone. After eating here, I think they might just make it (after all). I have had the smothered shredded beef burrito, the smothered barbacoa burrito, and the al pastor tacos. The shredded beef burrito had much more beef than I expected, and was flavorful, tender, and slow cooked to perfection. The barbacoa had a rich deep flavor that I loved, and was even tenderer than the shredded beef. Both come with beans, lettuce, tomato, sour cream, guacamole, and smothered in green chili. I found a mixture of mild and hot green chili to be the perfect amount of heat, and the flavor is fairly good. The tacos were above average, but the pastor was a bit under seasoned, which is heartbreaking as tacos al pastor has been one of my favorite meals since I was a kid and discovered them in Mexico. The tortillas were (unfortunately) store bought. The staff is friendly (or at least smile a lot), and service is prompt. The restaurant is clean, but stacks of unwrapped chips in bowls by the front door are a bit unappetizing (and unsanitary). I skipped the chips. I will return to this restaurant, and hopefully in the future they will fine tune their processes. I think this place could be my new go to Mexican food restaurant. read more

L.A. style Breakfast Burritos and Street Tacos through a drive-thru! The Breakfast Burritos are made with Fried Potatoes, Green Chili Medium or Hot and any meat you would like. The Hot Green Chili isn't that hot it's more of a medium, that's probably why they don't have mild. I like my Breakfast Burrito without egg and they even it out just right, unlike like other places where if you take something out, you pretty much have a flat burrito. The Street Tacos are prepared just like they do in L.A. and Mexico with a variety of different Salsas upon request. The hottest Red Chili and Green are my two favorites so I always get two of each. They offer a large selection of Mexican Drinks with large Horchata $5 being my favorite! I found this place when my doctor's office moved across the street a few years ago or I wouldn't of known it existed, it's hidden pretty well. The wait through drive-thru isn't to long for some good ole authentic Mexican food. read more

They stated talking dirt about his weight and insulting him in Spanish, well jokes on them, half the people we were with including my dad, speak Spanish!
