He would aspirate drinking a bottle and was in physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech until he was 3 years old. I was super afraid of him getting in the water after his intense medical past. My son was discharged from therapy and has overcome so many medical obstacles so I began thinking that I didn't want to let my fears pass onto him. After reading review upon review on Ms. Allison, I found that parent after parent mentioned how fantastic she is with children. I figured we would give this a shot when he was 3 1/2. I was absolutely amazed with her demeanor towards my son. I have been around so many therapists and doctors with my son and Ms. Allison ranks one of the highest on my list with how she teaches and gets children to listen. Right away, she gained his trust with her kindness and he got in the water. Even in his first few weeks of lessons, there were minimal tears (a lot less than I expected). During the times my son would cry, Ms. Allison never lost her calm composure and would quiet his fears and get him to be brave again. Ms. Allison has not only taught my son but has given me confidence knowing he is safe in the water. These lessons are invaluable and worth a big investment. You won't be disappointed choosing her.

They offer combination lockers for daily use. They offer many classes included in membership like pilates, yoga, high intensity workouts, water aerobics, etc. Staff is generally friendly and helpful. I've been a member for a year and a half now, and still trying to find the best time to go, when it isn't so crowded. The personal trainers don't work on weekends, so generally fewer people there on weekends. When the snowbirds are in town, obviously more crowded. I guess my only real complaint is with some of the other members and basic gym etiquette. Some folks simply don't wipe down the equipment after use, and some folks will hang out resting on a machine or looking at their phone for what seems like a long time while others are waiting for that equipment.

We tried two other swim schools because Aqua-Tots is a bit of a hike, but we have found it to be well worth the drive. They are one of the few companies that allow same day cancelations and give you a make-up class to use at another time. The app is very easy to navigate, and I can simply reschedule a class at any time. I can easily view my child's progress, and what they are working on. The app also allows you to see which instructor your child will be swimming with. Many of times, the classes are not fully booked, and my children get to experience a private lesson. When this happens, they still allow the full class time. At other swim schools, if the class is not full, they lessen the class time. The facility is always clean, and they have tons of changing rooms, and just a nice set up overall. There is plenty if seating and room for a family member to join and watch. The owners have been a pleasure to work with and are always involved, which we appreciate.
