A great spot that wasn't pricey, and took their time to explain what was going on. We have a pretty new car that was not able to be aligned. The head guy took his time to explain what was causing this issue. When I went in to the dealership, I knew what the problem was, and was able to be very succinct about what needed to be done, and that solved it. If this car wasn't still under warranty, I would definitely trust them to fix it for a reasonable price, and good quality work. I will definitely be coming back! read more

Dishonest and horrible people, from the mechanics to the front desk. Leak in one tire, proceeded to lie and stated that there was another tire with a leak with a nail in desperate effort to charge more. They could not produce a nail when I asked to see it. they were forced to reimburse me for one tire that they claimed that they fixed but they completely missed the leak. Then they tried to sabotage my breaks so they would charge me to fix it. They stated there is a recall on my vehicle with the break issue and that it was a coincidence that it happened on their lift. read more

First time using them and I couldn't be happier. Sullivan tire found a repair that needed to be done when I was switching out tires, and quoted me at $1,500 to repair. Went to have my muffler looked at. Was pleasantly surprised when they said it just needed a patch and was only $75. I expected a lot more. These guys are incredible --- showed up this morning ( a Saturday no less) with a loud muffler that's been getting progressively louder over the last couple weeks. All I was hoping for was that they could take a quick look to diagnose it and then book an appt for later in the week -- if it could wait and if the price was right. Not only did they put my car on the lift to diagnose it , but also said they could fix it right then and there !! They showed me the problem while it was on the lift before doing any work and the absolute best part ---- gave me the price if I wanted to go forward --- $75 !!! I look for 3 things in an auto mechanic: 1) competence 2) honesty and 3) reasonable price. At AXP Auto that is exactly what you get. I discovered this place back in 1996 when my brakes started squeaking and then grinding. I went to two different chains, one was Midas and I think the other one was Speedy. I was told by both that I had waited too long and damaged both my discs and my calipers beyond repair. According to them I basically needed completely new front disc brakes. One estimate was for about $900, the other over $1000. I was very skeptical and I declined. I then happened to stop by AXP one day and spoke to Roger, the guy who runs the place. He said those estimates were ridiculous and there was no way I would need new calipers for one thing, and that I might not even need to replace the entire discs, only the pads. He said it would probably be around $200 and I was thrilled. When a mechanic says "probably around $200", you figure something like $275, so when the bill came to just under $150, I was absolutely delighted. Roger said that the left disc was fine and he just had to machine the right one a bit and it should be fine too. He could have easily charged me a lot more and I still would have been happy. He saw how high those estimates were and still gave me a great price and won a 100% loyal customer ever since. This place will not take advantage of you even if you don't know a thing about cars. The only drawback is that a lot of people know about this place, so it's very hectic. When they had just the one place across from Sudbury Farm, you'd have a hard time finding room to park your car in their lot. And a lot of cars would be blocked in. Now they have a second place near the Ford dealership, 2 or 3 miles down the road and that one has more parking. Still, it might take time for them to get to your car, and if it's not an emergency, they might tell you to call them back in a few days or a week. But it is well worth it for the quality of service and the value you get here. read more

I went in today to have a noise checked out in my car. They mechanic took it for a spin figured out what was wrong and fixed it all within 20 minutes. Quoted me for $75 and when all was said and done told me it'll only be $50. That's a first. Another shop would've charged hundreds and had my car for a few days. I should also add they brought me in to show me the problem and then again to see what they did to fix it. Never had that happen! Honest, fast, great customer service, and quality work. We dropped our truck off at 8:00 on Friday morning.. our request was to have our passenger and drivers door fixed.. Upon recommendation by another garage we asked them to look at ball joints... In the end, Driver's door was fixed, ball joints replaced and upon recommendation from axp, replacement of starter and starter belt. They had our vehicle for two days, only fixed one door , ball joints and starter. the total bill was $510.06.. The parts came to a total of $153.00 and total labor was $347.00.. They charge by the hour, but it doesn't matter how long you go without your vehicle.. we were going away for the weekend but our plans changed because they didn't even start working on our vehicle until late friday afternoon.. We have spent a lot of money taking our vehicles to this shop but will never go there again... read more

Worst service EVER. This place was recommended to us by a friend who has never had a problem. Dropped off the car on Friday( they said it would be done by Saturday). Called them on Saturday and they said it would be done on Monday. Called on Monday. They had to order a special part and I pay $60 extra for OVERNIGHT shipping. They call me today (the day before Thanksgiving, they day they PROMISED to have my car done) and say it won't be done until next MONDAY. I was told by my mechanic that I had gone to for eight years that the smell of coolant in my jeep was due to a cracked heater core. This was a week after they had completely done all the valve seals. They told me I had to go to a dealership for it to be fixed because the entire dashboard would have to be taken out to get to the heater core. At least a one thousand dollar job they told me. Forward to five months later and I am talking to a gentleman at a local auto parts store who highly recommends AXP to take a look at it first-he said they're good,very reasonable and completely honest.I went there today.Vernon and one other gentleman I talked to couldn't have been nicer.Said they would take a look. Turns out all the coolant hoses were loose and leaking. They tightened them up filled with coolant: $47.00 please. Are you kidding me?
