Very nice diner with great prices. Service was friendly and efficient. It was Monday night, 5 ish and it wasn't crowded. We sat at a table and reviewed the extensive menu and special options.

This is what I call a diner! You instantly feel welcomed by staff and you know the coffee is brewing while some great aromas are coming from the kitchen. Park easily outside, no steps to enter. Plenty of seats to choose from: table? booth? Or counter? Breakfast menu or lunch menu? My gyro was delicious-- loved the homemade tzatziki sauce! Prices are super reasonable :)

We found this local gem as we landed at Traverse City Airport and we wanted something from a local restaurant. Randy's is a special place, quaint and full of great food options ranging from traditional hamburgers, to turkey and gravy, to roast beef and gravy and a nice assortment of Salads with homemade dressing. I like to ask places like this, what is your favorite thing on the menu and i was pleasantly surprised to hear that fried cod with homemade dip is their specialty!!! Wow, was the cod fantastic, crisp, but not overdone, nice large white flaky chunks of fish...no need for any condiments, no sauce of any kind...the natural succulent flavor was all that was needed. The burgers were had by others and they didn't disappoint, thr fries were absolutely amazing. We had such a great meal that we stopped here on the way back where our son flexed his In-N-Out shirt

Based on food: Interior not as nostalgic as I had hoped but definitely had its own character. I recommend the homemade malts and house fries. Hoping to go back sometime for what appears to be epic breakfast.

Slabtown is an…read moreabsolute 'must' for any burger lovers visiting TC; especially in the summertime when you can sit outside on their porch or surrounding patio. It's an old house that has been transformed into a burger destination. The inside is cramped, especially in the order area when they're busy, and indoor seating is tough to come by at peak times. The service has never been anything short of excellent on our visits. The staff is welcoming, helpful, patient, and friendly. Service is quick, even when they're slammed. Phenomenal burgers, O-rings, tots, and sweet potato fries. The Northwood's DRAFT (not fountain) root beer is a perfect pairing with their burgers. Slabtown's menu of specialty burgers is enormous and the BYO options include different protein choices and excellent GF buns. I've tried many of their burgers, but have to say that the Slabby Patty on a pretzel bun and the Pungi's Pepper Patty really stood out as a couple of my favorites. For a really sinful (and unhealthy) treat, ask for the gravy tots. Oh brother...insanely good but definitely a guilty pleasure. We've sent tons of our friends and family here, and I can tell you that every one of them has thanked us for the recommendation and raved about their burgers. So what are you waiting for? Combined with the relaxed outdoor seating, friendly service, and beautiful Sunday morning atmosphere, it made for the perfect casual breakfast. This burger has Candied Bacon, Pepper Jack Cheese, Grilled Poblanos, Lettuce, Grilled Onions, Chipotle Bbq sauce. The burger was very good. However it's not the best burger I've had in TC. The candied bacon was good, but not candied enough. There also wasn't enough of the bbq sauce. The quality of meat was good, but again wasn't the tastiest I've had in TC. The burger is definitely worth getting with the caveat that it isn't exceptional. The burger comes with Great Lake Potatoes Chips, due to they give you a pond of fries if you order fries. I didn't. I did order a Chocolate Shake ($9). It is a thick shake and reminds me of a Frosty, just more chocolaty. I enjoyed it, but I love frostys. The service was enthusiastic and friendly. Overall a solid 4 star review. Would I return? Yes, I would. Sometimes you crave a smash burger and this definitely hits that bill. Definitely worth a visit.

The Oliver (triple) was exactly what I'd been craving in a Michigan-style olive burger. The pimento olive spread was generously slathered on to the crispy lacey-edged smash burger patties topped with Swiss cheese on a nicely toasted brioche bun. The olive spread was perfect...just enough to be bursting with flavor, but not so overpowering that it dominated the entire burger. The fam tried The Junction and The Laura, both on lightly toasted Gluten Free buns. The Junction (Glendale's version of the classic Oklahoma onion burger) was very good, and the GF bun was met with positive reviews. Glendale even offers GF fries, which were excellent (their normal fries are seasoned & battered; but the GF fries were a bit better). If you're looking for a thicker, juicier burger, this is not your place. These are straight up paper thin, crispy smashers. And if that's what you're looking for, I'd recommend no less than a double, if not a triple. Drink selections include bottles of various Northwoods sodas, sparkling water, and other choices from the cooler. Glendale presents as an old-school diner, with cool decorations and some posters of Saginaw heritage (the owner's roots). Speaking of the owners...the lady working the register and delivering food to everyone was one...and she was super sweet and nice. It made for a great experience right out of the gate as we were figuring out what we wanted to order. You walk up to the counter and order, then they deliver to your table; or you can sit on a stool at the counter, just like a classic diner. Plenty of seating, but when they get busy, it fills up quickly, yet the service remains fast for the cooked-to-order burgers & fries. Décor is fun (they have a Big Boy!) & fitting for the diner vibe. The entire place is extremely clean and well kept. Pride of ownership shines through in the entire experience.

When we ordered, the bartender didn't drink which made it hard to know what certain beers taste like, but honestly, no judgement because he did the right thing and offered tastes of beer which was awesome and helpful! So service wise I would say great! The beer tasted really good as well and was decently priced. They had a bourbon barrel stout which was pretty good and newly released. The biggest issue we had was with the food. I ordered the spam sandwich with chips and my wife ordered the chicken quesadilla. While the food was cheap, the quality of the food also seems that way too based off what we ordered. The spam sandwich was supposed to be teriyaki flavored, and didn't get any of that. There wasn't a lot of thousand island dressing on it too, which made the sandwich dry. The chips that were served were clearly out of a bag as they were cold, which made it seem like I could have just gotten a bag myself. I would have paid a few dollars extra to get something fresh like fries. While spam comes from a can and I know this, my wife's chicken quesadilla had chicken that was clearly from a can - it was sopping wet, and the meat was very chunky, and very salty. This made us worry the rest of the food may not be very fresh. While we did have that experience, I will say the pretzel bites were really good and did seem fresh, and they were sourdough! So that was nice. I think this place has very good beer, and a really cool bar setup with a nice stage, arcade machines, and much more. However, I wouldn't come back here for lunch. Instead, I would make food at home. I would highly recommend more fresher options, and I would pay a little more for better quality food.
