Randy's Doughnuts in Chula Vista has reached a level of doughnut mastery that borders on disrespectful. They are not here to participate in the doughnut industry. They are here to dominate it, smirk while doing it, and leave everyone else wondering why they even bother frying dough at all. They offer the classics for people who still cling to the fantasy that they make reasonable choices. The glazed, the sprinkles, the old fashioneds that taste like nostalgia and denial. Then they trot out the nouveau cronut come latelys, the laminated divas that shed flakes everywhere like they're too important to stay intact. But the moment of truth arrives when you encounter the Texas doughnuts. These things are the size of a medium pizza and carry the same emotional weight. You do not buy one casually. You buy one the way people adopt a large dog. With intention. With preparation. With the understanding that your life will not be the same afterward. It is a doughnut that forces you to confront your own hubris. Walking into Randy's feels like stepping into a gallery curated by someone who believes moderation is a personal failing. Every tray is a spectacle. Every flavor is a dare. Every doughnut is a sermon about the glory of excess delivered by a preacher who has never once uttered the phrase "maybe that's too much." It's a pilgrimage... a sugar fueled awakening. And one last thing... if you walk out feeling normal, you missed the point.

Finally tried this place after years of driving by and wondering how delicious it is. Service was great and they had all the donuts we were looking for and more. We came in on a Wednesday at noon. The vibes of the store are clean and welcoming. We snagged an assortment of donuts for our employees and they devoured them! Glad to know this place is a safe bet for team treats- we'll be back

Very welcoming staff . Not sure if they are open every day but there Hours are 6- 9 pm . I stopped by around 4 pm . Probably best to stop by earlier to have a better selection. I got the raspberry jelly donut and they don't skimp out on the filling . The donuts are soft and fluffy . The maple bacon donut also doesn't skimp on the bacon . The prices seem reasonable and the drinks sound good . I'd be interested in trying an iced coffee . I would like to see some nicer labels that are legible of each of the donuts .

Randy's Donuts in South Bay is such a win! I'm so glad they opened a location here because their donuts are on another level. The donuts are dense, filling, and super satisfying exactly what you want when you're craving something sweet. Our go-tos are the cronut and the maple bacon. The cronut is flaky, buttery, and perfectly sweet, and the maple bacon hits that salty-sweet combo just right. Service here is always quick and friendly, even when they're busy. Pro tip: swing by close to closing time... you might just get hooked up with a little something extra. Definitely a must-visit donut spot in the area!

This was our first time trying Randy's, and it did not disappoint! The young ladies working behind the counter were so nice and even offered some great suggestions to help us choose. We ended up going with the chocolate buttermilk bar and the butter crumb raised... both were absolutely delicious. They were fresh, moist, and full of flavor. I especially loved that the chocolate on the buttermilk bar wasn't waxy like you often find at other places. The shop itself was very clean, and the selection was impressive. We'll definitely be back to try more!

This is my first time coming to Randy's and I've got to say I am not disappointed at all. I honestly wish that I didn't like it as much as I do because now I just gave my back another reason to be BIG. I'm assuming I was speaking with the store manager based off of how knowledgeable she was but I could be wrong regardless she was so insightful and honestly without her help I probably would've bought one of each so 10 out of 10 on the customer service. Super clean Location I did expect it to be a little bigger on the interior maybe two or three more seats, but I wasn't staying anyway so That wasn't in my lane. The donuts... just wow. Just amazing. I can't even remember what they each were called. I just know that I need 10 more.

It just so happened we were in the neighborhood and we decided to stop in before heading back to home. Conveniently located right off the freeway and right before the on ramp. The shopping center is very deceiving. It doesn't look like a lot of parking but there's a lot spaces in the back lot. The spot are tiny but luckily it was not very busy on a Friday night around 6pm. As we walked in, we were greeted by 2 young ladies. There was a steady flow of customers coming and going. We didn't know what to get so we opted for a dozen assorted. However the donuts were divided into 4 different types of donuts where you have classic, deluxe, fancy, and premium. We got the Mix 4 which is $33 that includes 3 classic, 3 deluxe, 3 fancy, and 3 premiums. A lot of the donuts were already sold out, but that didn't stop us from choosing from whatever is left. My kids got a variety of donuts, my husband chose a couple, and I chose the remaining. I do not think a dozen is worth the $33, but it is good to check them out once since they are here. I do recommend nuking the donuts for a few seconds so that you can taste the moistness and flavors of a fresh donut. The ladies were patient and nice and even gave us a free donut with our order. This location is quite small so be patient if you're here when it's busy!

Hear me out. I was really not expecting much from Randy's Donuts. I've never been to the original and I thought, it's just an iconic logo used in movies like Iron Man. I was so wrong. My brother in law picked up some donuts from their Bonita location and it totally proved me wrong. Huge fluffy donuts with delicious toppings. It easily made my top 3 donut spots ever! And we only ordered the basic donuts, not the special ones. Now I'm excited to try their special ones. Alright, so Randy's Donuts blew my mind. I'm going back for another round of fresh delicious donuts!

We stopped by on our way to a friends beach party and grabbed a dozen of donuts. My favorite was the crumb cake donut as I normally like my donuts pretty simple and basic. The rest of the donuts were also equally good. Texture was soft, fresh, and the icing just melts immediately in your mouth service has always been great. Pricing was decent, didn't realize a dozen box of donuts now cost $30. Overall great experience and great donuts. The place the clean and welcoming and in a very well lit area with plenty of parking.

6 donuts for $18 - (2) cream filled maple bar, (1) regular maple bar, (1) chocolate bar, (1) lemon filled powdered sugar, and (1) Easter Peep donut. We arrived 7:45pm on a Saturday evening. We were served fast. There was no one in line. The donut shop is attached to a restaurant which is very convenient to grab a sweet treat after dinner. The place was super quiet and relaxed.

This would be a cool selfie background.

RANDY'S DONUTS: ICONIC STILL OVERHYPED I purchased a chocolate bar and buttermilk donut. I kind of felt guilty coming right after I left the dentist. What the heck you only live once. Randy's Donuts holds a special place in my childhood memories. Living just a few blocks away, I often wondered if that massive rooftop donut would fall during an earthquake. The nostalgia hit hard when I recently visited--especially seeing the iconic donut model inside the bakery. But honestly, the donuts still don't impress me. Even after all these years, my sweet tooth & Randy's remains the same: Meh. Sure, as a kid, everything sweet seemed amazing--donuts, ice cream, fast food--but with a refined palate now, Randy's just doesn't hit the mark. While millions rave about it, I can't help but think it's more about the bandwagon than the taste. For me, Randy's wouldn't crack my top five donut spots in San Diego. I surely was back to the future, at age 10, looking through the donut showcase thinking to myself which one will my coins afford today? I relived that 2 block stretch on my white steel roller skates even if the donuts don't live up to the legend. HIGHLIGHTS: *Customer service: outstanding and enthusiastic *Prices: fair *Location: kind of surprising: it's like a nook within a nook plaza. It'll be interesting to observe how long this location remains "DoNUT worry, be happy."

    My raspberry jelly filled doughnut

The donuts were fine. The jelly donut was not as soft as I would have preferred, but it is a big doughnut, and they chalk it full of raspberry filling, the maple bar was good too, I just like my donuts way softer almost biting into clouds is how I like it

I personally like the donuts here, some are fairly priced and some are overpriced. The quality though is good, but as far as living up to the hype, I'm not sure it's worth spending an arm and a leg for specialty donuts. Donuts are big and tasty, very rich and heavy. I like to get them for gifts, only because they are famous donuts. Staff here are always friendly and willing to answer any questions. I like how they decorate this store, it's a cute replica of the original with their signature donut.

Chocolate Condy, maple bar, raised maple (my fav), chocolate old fashion, doggy donut

La Concha Bakery is one of my all time favorite panaderia's. Located in the heart of Chula Vista,…read moreit is a family-owned bakery that specializes in traditional pan dulce (Mexican sweet bread), and custom cakes! Known for their fresh, daily-baked pastries, it features a self-service (tray-and-tongs) experience in a clean, welcoming environment! The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Always making great recommendations for their customers! Parking can be a bit tricky with very few spaces available. Pricing is somewhat higher than it used to be, but then again so is everything else (like gas, lol). They have a great selection of conchas, polvorones, fresh bolillos, empanadas (chicken, beef, jalapeño cream cheese), and custom cakes! Typically, I get the empanadas de piña 10/10! They're so freaking delicious! They feature a golden, buttery, and flaky crust that shatters perfectly when bitten. Inside, they're filled with a rich, jammy pineapple filling that balances bright, tropical sweetness with a sharp, fruity tartness! Highly recommended!

I came in for the first time during Día de los Muertos and honestly the experience was a mix of…read morehighs and lows. The moment you walk through the door, the smell of fresh baked pan hits you and it is everything. The selection of pan dulce and bolillos had me feeling like I was back in Mexico City. So many options, beautifully displayed. That part alone almost made the trip worth it. But the customer service... yeah, I'm not the only one who noticed. I asked the lady at the register in Spanish if there was any chocolate pan de muerto and she completely ignored me. Like, didn't even look up. Just called someone from the back in Spanish, which, mija, I understood every word. The girl who came to help me was a little better but not much. She told me the chocolate pan de muerto was sold out, which fine, I get it, it was a holiday. But that's literally all you had to say. No smile, no "sorry we're out," nothing. Just took my money and that was that. The panadería itself deserves five stars. The staff needs some work. I'll probably go back for the pan because it really is that good, but I'm keeping my expectations low on the service side.
