This Randy's Donuts is not the one with the huge donut on the top of the building. It is newer and in Culver City. The place is super clean and comfortable. I find their prices to be high for these types of donuts, but they are good. They are not the best donuts in town, but this place has great service and a very good selection. They have a great glazed donut and their plain cake dounuts are super, but the rest are good, not great. Parking is not too bad here and you will get waited on fast. Just grab a dozen and go. Ordering on line for pick up can be bad. They have made mistakes more than once, but again, they have gotten it right more than not. Check the box. They also have delivery. This review isn't about the donut quality nor is it aimed at the staff who have all been super friendly and keep the lines moving. This review is aimed at the online ordering experience. PART 1 I ordered several dozen donut holes the morning of my daughters' birthday party (two daughters, same birthday, long story) for pickup in the afternoon. Trying to navigate the order ahead was tricky to begin with because the donut holes were "out of stock" the day before so they looked unavailable online. I called the store to try to order directly but was informed they do not take orders over the phone, but if I tried to order first thing in the morning then I should be okay. 1) PLEASE fix the order ahead to be able to take orders and then make sure to have them in stock. WHY CAN'T THE STORE TAKE PHONE ORDERS?? 2) I received a confirmation and pre-paid for the order but when I arrived at the store it was not only not ready... it DIDN'T EXIST. My order was never communicated to the store staff so they sold all the donuts that I'd already reserved and paid for. 3) if you are open late, PLEASE RESTOCK!! Not only did I leave empty handed, but there was nothing on the shelves for me to buy instead. (Why are you open past 2pm if nothing is on the shelves to buy?) I showed up to my daughters' birthday empty handed, without any compensation or effort to make this right. PART 2 The guy at the store apologized and "refunded my money" but a week later the refund hadn't been processed. I tried calling the store but they didn't pick up, so I called back, tried a different extension, and got the voicemail of a woman who sounded like she was driving in a car. I left my plea for someone to please process the refund and make things right but never got a call back, an email or even a free donut credit. (#4 BONUS HINT: A coupon for a percentage off my NEXT online order maybe would have gone a LOOOOONG way for 2 oops on the same order btw.) "They" (whomever got my message) DID in fact process the refund but I never got an apology, an acknowledgment or an effort to make this mistake right. Here's the thing--I grew up blocks away from the "original" Randy's Donuts. We walked there as kids every Saturday morning, we stopped in to grab a donut late night as teens after a movie, we braved the lines, we stayed loyal. When I moved away from that location I kept going back so my kids could enjoy the experience like I did. Somewhere around COVID it became a franchise and they introduced online orders. The quality in some aspects actually held up and their inventory even improved. But years ago, when I first attempted the online order, they again, hadn't received it or filled it and I had to come back a few hours later so my daughter could have the donuts she requested for her birthday. One time, is understandable. 2xs is enough for me to sit down and write this review and air my grievances since there was no attempt to contact me and make it right. My daughters still had a lovely birthday sure, but ordering from Randy's will not be something I am willing to do again--especially if it's for a special occasion. My kids love it enough that if we have the time we will still walk into the store. But then we are at the mercy of what is in stock and what isn't. With a long-standing legacy like Randy's and it being a pillar in the community for decades, I truly hope the tech side of the customer service and quality will catch up to the brick and mortar reputation. Online customers should be just as cared about as face to face ones and if they come in face to face only to leave empty handed, something should be done to make it right (or at least a percentage off for next time...) read more

This Randy's doesn't have a big giant donut outside, but they have the same great donuts inside. Plus there isn't always a long line. The guy who works there in the morning is very friendly and helpful. And they almost always have the donuts I want in stock. Our favorites are the rounds covered in chocolate and the old fashioned. They also have specialty donuts that seem to rotate. On this morning, they had a s'mores donut. So I got one for my daughter. This is a clean, well-run shop. read more

We were told to try Randy's Donuts and it did not disappoint. The employee was friendly and engaged us in conversation throughout our visit. I purchased a churro donut and a glaze donut with chocolate on it and both were flavorful and moist the next day. Ordering the donuts was easy but at first we were confused on where Randy's was because the sign was at the front but when we walked around there we only saw other restaurants. A small version of the original Randy's in Inglewood. This Randy's is in Culver City located on Washington Blvd., and Sepulveda. This is 1 of many locations now located in or around the LA arwa. Located in a food/shopping mall. Randy's entrance is through the parking lot. No front entrance. Let's jump right into this review. Corky Facts - Randy's is consistently named one of the top donut shops in the country and the most reviewed and highest rated donut shop on Yelp for 70 years! Randy's and the ICONIC donut on top of the building has been around since 1952. What did I have - Key Lime Pie - 8/10, top of donut dipped in key lime icing and topped with whipped cream. I tried this donut previously the week before at the original Randy's location in Inglewood and the donut miss the mark. This location actually had a better donut - put together well. All the elements came together. Things to know - 1. Parking lot can get full. Decent size but several businesses located in this shopping center that can make finding a parking space a challenge. 2. Enter through the back not the front. 3. Location is small but still has an inviting atmosphere. 4. Service was good. Greeted and served promptly. Has anyone else passed by the Randy's Donuts sign on Sepulveda? You know the one I mean? You're driving north just before Washington Blvd? There's this sign but it really doesn't seem to be attached to an actual location. Finally I decided to check and found out that it's on the back side of the Culver Crossroads Center. Mystery solved! It's a little worrisome however, knowing that a Randy's is so much closer to me now. I have always made it a point to go all the way over to the "Mother Ship" location in Westchester but since I now know that they have exactly the same donuts at the new one, I won't have to do that anymore. It's a very clean space and staffed by nice people. It was easy to find parking too. And even though there's voodoo and sidecar, I've realized that 95% of the time when I want a donut, Randy's is what I really want. Always consistent. read more

Delicious donuts and lots of options. I'm not a fan of cake-y donuts and these do not taste thick and cake-y. The bread part is light and delicious. The frosting is very sweet on the heavy frosted ones. They have fun theme ones depending on the season. It's a good box to take to a party or school. It's pricier than the normal mom & pop but it's also not too bad. I went during a promotion of "buy a donut and get a drink free" so my purchase came with a free latte which was nice. The size of the store is ridiculous. My sister-in-law is disabled and she had the hardest time there. She is in a wheelchair, the store is extremely narrow and the staff asked her if she wanted anything or to let them know when she was ready was from the donut display that is around 5" tall. I walked out because having six customers inside felt overwhelming from the lack of physical space. Extremely disappointed in every single way. This is my second visit, and there's room for improvement. My daughter and I picked up donuts and coffee today, and it's not quite there yet. The donuts were tough and chewy (I'm guessing this is what people talk about when the dough is overworked), and the flavor was closer to molasses than cinnamon sugar, very dark flavor. We also ordered basic coffees, which were watered down. I love Randy's, but the quality control at this location is not quite there yet for basic stuff. read more

I've been going to the location for a while, while being pregnant and craving the strawberry matcha all the time. This time I sent my husband in, the lady on the register was new, after my husband payed, she proceeded to tell him there was no strawberry or the milk she offered him , so he asked for a refund, Tia was the name she gave him and the other person on duty was Isaiah , both didn't know how to process a refund so he asked for a different drink. All while she is continuing to give attitude and say that she is uncomfortable because she's a women of color, no one ever mentioned her race , while Isaiah was making a new drink he dropped it and said "sorry sir I suck at my job I have to remake this", after that the lasy told my husband that if his wife wanted a strawberry matcha she could go to Starbucks, but wanted him to leave the shop without the refund or drink he payed for. Terrible service here! There was a new hire that was sweet and trying to be helpful but needed assistance which was understandable. I had no problem with that, however the rest of the staff including the manager were terrible. Charlie was dismissive and rude to not only me as a customer but also to the new hire that just needed a little help. I didn't catch the other workers name but he was also just as nasty and rude to his coworker. She was sweet and trying to be helpful and honestly looked scared to ask for help. This looks like the worst working environment ever. Let's switch back to how dismissive Charlie was to me as a customer because I simply asked the price of a dozen donuts and he didn't even stop to explain anything. Apparently there are different prices depending on which donuts you pick which was not explained to me. One star is for the friendly staff. I was initially excited to see Randy's Donuts open nearby, as I never previously had an opportunity to try them. I was excited, all the more, when I first walked into the shop to see they made a lemon old-fashioned. Unfortunately, however, there was only one left, but it was broken. I would have bought it, for a discounted price, but none was offered. So I figured I'd return to buy a full one. That was not to be the case. I have returned, again, and again, and again. I've been going there almost daily for a couple weeks now. It seems like that's the only empty row (column?) in the display case, every time I'm there. The other donuts look overcooked (i.e. dark, hard and tough), especially the chocolate old-fashioned. If and when I feel the desperate craving for a donut, I might try a different variety but, for now, they just don't look all that appealing. read more
