This place has made huge strides in cleaning it up, going smoke-free (hallelujah) and becoming a place that the whole family can enjoy. They have gotten rid of the dingy, smoke riden walls and really spruced up the place. Food is very good and they have daily specials that make it so nice and not a crunch on your pocketbook. Big tv's everywhere, pool tables, cold beer and great grill style food. Most of the parking it's in the back and feel free to come in through the backdoor like us locals do. I switch locations for my job and I was working in Taylor, the place wasn't to busy so there wasn't a wait, the bartender was kind quickly got my order and even suggested a few things. I saw some reviews and it seemed the burgers were good here so my wife and I hit it. This was Saturday night right at what is considered the usual dinner time period. The place is a small step above a dive. Now I don't mean that in a bad way. Food network show Triple D proves that the food is what really matters. I'm not a Hoity Toity wine drinker, okay but the few people in this place...er...well...were interesting to say the least. I'm as much of a country boy with a slightly redneck as they were and we got some weird stares. Glad I was carrying that night, if you know what I mean. Our order was hosed from the start. Didn't get the onion rings we wanted as an appetizer at all. Both of our burgers were wrong. Ordered a regular Coors (and made it clear) but I got a Coors light. My wife's burger could be fixed if they just gave us the missing ingredients which we did. My burger had to be tossed and another made, it wasn't even close. So as I waited for the ingredients for the wife's burger and my redo I ate some of the fries. They brought the corrected stuff out and there were no fries with my burger. I told them that the least you could do is bring me fresh fries, which they did. The waitress, maybe manager, was very nice! I have to say the burgers were good. The fries were hot and good also. They made good on the mistake and were decent about it. I tipped a normal tip. We left and got some REALLY (YEAH) odd stares from a table on the way out. Made the wife nervous. The place was basically empty on a Saturday night, it's in Taylor (Hello), and pretty much a dive. Burgers were not good enough for a return visit in my opinion, though not bad by any means. Service is always good! Cool little place. I ALWAYS go here for their burger and seasoned fries. They have a bar, I think mainly just beer? They have slots, pool and karaoke on Thursday nights. I tried this place out on a Saturday afternoon. The waitress/bartender was very friendly and the service was fast, but I was one of only a few people in the establishment at the time. I had a cheeseburger and fries, and the price was really good for the amount of food that you get. I know they have beer and wine, but I am not sure about other liquor. Sunday afternoon, not busy at all. We placed our order for chicken strips and a club sandwich. 45 minutes later, we were informed that our order had not been given to the kitchen, but the waitress said she would place it again and since there were no other orders, ours would be out in 10 minutes. A family of 6 were seated AND received their food, while we still had not received our simple order. We dropped $2 on the table for my soda and my husband's tea and left. Not an abundance of dining options in Taylor. Stumbled upon this place and decided to give it a try. Initially was a little put off by the dark interior and that "bar smell" upon entry - but it dissipated fast and the food and friendly service quickly changed my opinion of the place. Had buffalo wings (requested them extra crispy and they came out perfectly) and onion rings (also good). Looks like they have good appetizer and beer specials during happy hour, but we missed that. Have been here quite a few times in the past but quit coming because the food was just so so. Came in a couple of days ago to see if things had changed. I'm sure glad I did. Have eaten here twice. Had an excellent Chicken Fried Steak with Baked Potato and Salad. Reasonably priced. I was impressed. Next time I ordered their special on Catfish with Fried Okra and Pinto Beans. They gave me Cole Slaw instead of Okra so I asked them to fix the order. They took it back and a few minutes later I had some hot fried Okra but everything else was now cold. Ate it and was not really pleased but did not complain to them. When I went to the register they said that will be $15 and some change. I said, "try again"~ she said, "oh, must have mixed your order up with someone else"~ they then charged me $12 and some change for the cold meal and a drink~ the girl who took my money muttered something under her breath as I left~ lol~ I'll give it a 3-star because of the first meal which deserved a 5-star. read more

Not only do they not follow the max occupancy for covid-19 the cooks do not wear masks or gloves and I did not see one person wash their hands at all! GO HERE. This place IS kid friendly. And smoke free. It is very clean and nice on the inside despite the look of a bar or local tavern on the outside. Lots of very nice seating and tons of screens. First thing I noticed... THE WAITRESS! Wow never had one so friendly and accommodating. And it wasn't just to us. I overhear her with another customer as well. After a visit to Louie Mueller for some BBQ, and a few minutes of walking around downtown Taylor, we stopped at Randy's for a few pitchers of beer. There are three pool tables in back, and a few picnic tables out front for enjoying the outdoor air in the shade. Wood paneling throughout and corrugated steel makes it feel like a cross between a basement bar and an outlaw refuge. Throw in the great beer selection and top it off with taxidermy lynx, snakes, and deer, and you've got yourself one heck of a local watering hole. Stopped at Randy's today for lunch. I had the bacon cheeseburger. It was a delicious, non pretentious ode to what burgers at a grill used to be. Everything was fresh and simple down to being topped with classic iceberg, pickles, onion, and tomato. Great service. Great Food! Was pleasantly surprised to find this place! The food was actually pretty darn good for the money! I had a bacon cheeseburger, only flaw not enough bacon but which place ever puts enough bacon on a burger?? Randy's is a place where the locals gather for a good burger, chicken fried steak and a cold beer. Located in an old garage, the atmosphere is what one would expect in small town Texas. The men's bathroom has an open window facing the parking lot. The women' bathroom has cardboard covering the mirror. Let me begin with we have been here before, and it was great! My parents go here pretty often along with their friends. We got there last night about 6:15 - Monday half price burgers it was pretty busy but not terrible. We had a party of 7 we were out celebrating for my fathers birthday, we come here pretty often for his birthday. The table next to us had a huge group of people. First it took a while to get drinks, we had to remind them a few times. No big deal. We made sure we got our food order in before the big group next to us. We were told it would be about an hour for our food, again no big deal. We said we would wait and visit. After well over an hour the big group beside us gets half their food before us- they were given our order. Once they realize it, the waitress picks up the food and goes back into the kitchen. Finally after 5 minutes or so of not knowing what is going on- they come and tell us the orders got messed up and we will get our food soon. After that conversation 2 meals come out to our table- they are ice cold. We were still missing 5 other meals. We wait about another 15-30 minutes and 3 more meals come out and again they were cold. We let them know we will eat them since we had been waiting so long and everyone was very hungry but the food was ice cold. Again, more time passes we never get the other 2 meals- by this time we are ready to leave and we are waiting on the bill. The bartender comes back with 2 hamburgers that she had just tried to give to the other table then to us and says these are your other hamburgers and again they are not ours- they had everything on them with cheese and that is not how we ordered them. To some people this might be a big deal but we had one person allergic to mayo so he could not eat this burger. We let her know we want the bill again and we are not paying for the missing burgers. When we were trying to check out we were told our bartender had to leave due to us cussing her out- no one said any cuss words to her at all. They were very rude when we were checking out. They acted as if it was our fault that everything was messed up from the second the food came out of the kitchen. She then says we needed to pay for the extra 2 meals that came out even though they were wrong because they were ours. That isn't right. I know Monday nights are busy for them. Overall it is a great atmosphere and they have cleaned it up nicely. Unfortunately we will not be going back any time soon. They were VERY unprofessional and rude when trying to tell them what all went on from the beginning then being told we cussed them out. We had a child with us and I can guarantee you know one acted that way not to mention there were 2 parents not drinking at all no one acted out at our table like they said. I tried the chicken fried steak and fried catfish and was impressed. Kind of a smoky little beer joint, but great food and cheap beer.

The food they serve here is incredibly delicious, especially their burgers and queso! I would give it a ten out of ten! Their pricing is pretty affordable considering that their burgers are huge and so worth it. The service is excellent as well and the waitresses are so friendly and are always refilling our drinks. One strength this restaurant has is that although it is considered a "bar", they are also kid friendly. One weakness that this restaurant has is that it is a little too dark inside. Would not consider it kid friendly at night because after all its a bar i promise you will be happy with what you order the only thing i do not like is the fried pickles because the pickles are sliced at like 1/2 inch thick slice.
