We came today for the first time and hate that we waited so long. 5 star experience. Makena was our server and she was awesome. I will always ask for her when we dine there. I hope management sees this and showers her with kudos. The food was excellent. We ordered: - bacon jam patty melt and street corn. It was delicious and hefty. The street corn was Smokey and spicy. - Gouda cheesesteak - with crispy fries. It was excellent. - Redfish Ponchatrain. It was topped with shrimp and was really enjoyed. Great portion too. - 2 people ordered blackened catfish and both loved it. They're baked potato was huge and loaded, there's sweet potato fries were waffle and delicious and their mashed potatoes and chips and salsa. We're both excellent sides as well. - kiddo had a kids burger and fries and loved it. -I had black and chicken with a side, Caesar salad and the sautéed vegetables and I was not excited but needed to eat something to keep up with my macros, and the chicken was flavorful and delicious, the vegetables were seasoned well, and the salad was wonderful as well. Stopped in here after leaving COTA on our way home to Leander, and it was a great find. The setup is counter-service: you walk in, wait in line to order, grab a table, and they bring your food out to you with a number. We were greeted by a lovely waitress who checked in on us and offered drink refills throughout our visit. The atmosphere felt very family friendly and welcoming. I ordered the chicken fried steak, which was solid and satisfying. My guests both had the fried catfish and shrimp combo with mashed potatoes, and after trying both, I have to say those were excellent, honestly, I would choose that over the chicken fried steak next time. Overall, great food, friendly service, and a comfortable casual dining experience. Food is overly salty. Drink was not up to par. I came first time and I was not impressed with food at all, unless someone likes salty food. Gumbo was a joke. I will use less aggressive description, so it was something I was hoping would taste good and hot and appealing, but was completely opposite. They forgot to put it in microwave for a minute. Burger looked pathetic. Bloody Mary was less classic, I think it was way more spicy and bitter. Strawberry pecan salad was pretty good, except dressing amount they put on. Service was nice and pleasant, ambiance is good and to me it looked very clean inside. I would not go back, and I would not say not to come but would not recommend neither. read more

Ordered pickup from Willie's Grill & Icehouse, and the experience was smooth from start to finish. The service was quick, and my order was ready when I arrived. The exterior is very, very nice, and I could see there's a great space for kids to play, which is a plus for families. As for the food--everything was just good. No single item outshined the others, and honestly, that's not a bad thing. The chicken fried chicken smothered in cream gravy was well seasoned and comforting. The mashed potatoes and mixed veggies were solid sides that complemented the meal nicely. The mac and cheese brisket balls were flavorful and indulgent, adding a fun twist without stealing the show. Overall, this was a satisfying, well-rounded meal with plenty of flavor across the board. Even though this was a pickup order, it left a good impression. A very fun, relaxing place. Can watch all types of sports from the many TVs throughout the restaurant. Ample seating as well. You have 2 person booths to 4 person booths to 4 toppers and a large bar area for many to enjoy. You walk in and there are several coolers with a large variety of beverages that cannot be served thru the fountain. We counted 4 super large Yeti coolers! Onto the area to place your order. Very simple. Menus are a very large font so don't have to strain your eyes. Always have a special going on as well. We started with the basic chips and queso that also comes with salsa. The salsa was a nice smoky mild flavor. The queso was good but a tad on the cool side. Would like for it to have been warmer. Service was super friendly with our food coming out to the table. Server was always checking on us and refilling our drinks when necessary. Then fish tacos and steak fingers with jalapeño white gravy. Both were very tasty and plenty of food as well. We truly had no room for dessert. They also have a "club" where you can earn points and redeem for rewards. They add up pretty quickly. We will be back! read more

I normally wouldn't blast bad customer service but I just want others to be aware. If you order delivery from anywhere make sure you login to whoever is the delivery place. . Willie's used Favor 2 weeks ago to deliver an order to me. I received no call from the favor driver and they totally dropped my order at the wrong house. I did get a pic and tried to chat and call driver with no reply. I have been communicating with Willis and favor both for two weeks and neither want to take the blame or give me a refund for my order, even though I had pictures and text messages for proof. So sad customer service is so bad these days. Two prominent companies blaming each other and neither making it right. read more

If you're coming here for the first time, the ordering system is not quite the norm. You basically order at the counter, they hand you a receipt and then your server will take it from there. You can grab an ice cold beverage as you walk in or order a frozen margarita at the counter. The interior has that icehouse, honky-tonk feel to it with numerous flatscreens in every direction. At the center is a very large bar with tons of seating where you can order beers on tap or mixed drinks. Plenty of seating inside or you can choose to sit at their enclosed outdoor patio. The quality of the food pictured below was of good quality and good value. Just enough quality ingredients and low salt to have us coming back. Despite the upfront ordering system, the table service was very attentive. For the money, the food was well worth it and you should add this place to your burger appreciation list. When it's time to settle up, they'll just present you with the bill which gives you time to decide on the tip. This visit was with a group of 15 or so friends to meet over dinner. My food choice was the shaped ribeye tacos with a chipotle, cream sauce. The tacos were delicious, although a little greasy which added to the deliciousness. Serving was huge and it came with two sides. My choice was the seasonal fruit - nicely cut and good selection of melons and berries. The other side was the sweet potato waffle fries... Crispy and delicious.(first time to enjoy waffle cut sweet potato fries.) This establishment has you placed your order at the counter and then go to your table/booth and your server will complete the dining experience. Our server greeted us promptly and then slowly disappeared... The drink refills were supposed to be part of their service to the table , but that was inconsistent... Frequently several at the table had to get up and get their own refills... Not that big a deal but when they're trying to get you to leave a gratuity... You have to ask in part why. Overall, good food, nice spacing between the tables so we could enjoy our conversation, and pretty quick turned around from the time the order was placed to the time the food was in front of us. read more

Good happy hour spot that has plenty of tvs for a game and large outdoor lit area. Service was quick too and didn't wait too long for drinks and apps which was great. You can pay via QR code at the table OR hand your payment to the server. Possibly, maybe, who knows as it seems to dependent on the server you get. 3 stars as the food is decent and it's a only place to grab a beer after a Costco run. Decent selection of macro beers, strong frozen cocktails, and well liquors to choose from. They could really use an upgrade in the bourbon selection, but it's serviceable (Eagle Rare is about his top shelf as they have). Fried mushrooms, chicken fried steak, and catfish platter is the way to go. They also serve crawfish boil which is a decent value. If you like fried food, this is your haven. read more

This is the second time my Husband and I went to this location. It's a Friday during lent, and we were looking for a place that served fish. We were reluctant to go because we could not remember why we did not like it the first place, but we decided to give it a second chance. We were greeted upon entry, not warm just matter of factly. The place looked clean and tidy. We placed our order at the counter, I ordered the shrimp platter $18.99 and it came with a single side, I ordered water to drink. My Husband ordered a catfish special that was $13.99, one side, and he ordered a lemonade. So we placed our order at the front, got our own drinks and seated ourselves. We were given a number to place at the table. We waited awhile for our food to come. We noticed this is a watering hole that serves food as an afterthought. It had frozen drinks greeting you from behind the counter, so if you like to get trashed on a Friday night, this place is for you(no judgement). But if you are here to just eat, and not drink, then I would tell you to pass this place up. While waiting, my Husband noticed they overcharged us for his plate, they charged $18.99 for his plate as well, he got up to fix the situation with the person up front who took our order. They supposedly fixed it. Someone brought our food to our table, we discussed the mix up to make sure the correct order was coming out, supposedly everything was fine. They brought out our orders and left. The shrimp, there were 9 shrimp on the plate, online says there is suppose to be ten, but online also says the shrimp platter is $20.99, so I don't know if I got shorted or was given an extra. The shrimp was dry, overcooked and had a strange texture. It did not help that they were normal shrimp pounded into submission to appear "bigger", like there is more bang to you buck, all it did was ruin the texture and make it cook faster, resulting in a dry shrimp. It was nicely seasoned. My fries were semi stale, almost room temp, over-salted, more crunchy, than crispy and definitely chewy. It came with a sample size coleslaw that was room-temperature, it came with 3 lemon wedges, as well as a cup of ketchup(which I thought it was cocktail sauce at first, but no), and tarter sauce that was not only slightly warmer than room temp, the mayo was starting to look kinda clear(like when mayo sits out too long). I refused to eat the tarter from my plate. Absolutely without a doubt, is this plate a rip off. My Husband's fish platter was the same as mine, except he had two decent sized pieces of catfish, his fries were the same as mine. He could not finish the catfish, he said flavor wise he said it was bland, the batter did not stick to the fish, it did not standout in any way. The fish had a dry rubbery membrane on it, that made finishing it a task he did not want to further endure. I have never known him to not finish a plate of catfish ever. When we were almost done, someone came to tell us that they would be our "server tonight" which was odd, why would we need one? We ordered our food up front, we filled our own drinks, like why? We waited awhile to get someone to help us get a check, and when we got it, not only was the order not fixed, they made a mistake and added crawfish on top of it. Which my Husband had to track someone down to get them to fix the issue. It wasted our time, we had things to do. They asked if they could pack up leftovers and my Husband told them it was nothing he cared to take home, that it was horrible, that basically it was our second time coming here and we will not be returning. Staff were friendly, but when we finally got the bill, we actually noticed that they expect you to tip!! Like what did they do?! 20% tip for bringing our food to the table, but we had to order it at the counter, get our own drinks, seat ourselves, thats just crazy. If I am paying a tip, someone is going to seat me, take my order at the table(which is part of the convenience of going to a restaurant, vs IDK a place like wing stop), bring us our drinks, check on us etc, not just bring our food, and then a messed up check and expect us to tip, for essentially nothing. We will not be returning. Willy's has some work to do, on the food, the way they handle their customers. Willy's if you want customers to tip, seat your customers and wait on them then, don't have customers do the work, and then expect us to be the ones to pay your employees livable wages for nothing, work on your prices too. I believe the only reason this place is open, is because this place again, is a watering hole and food always tastes better when drunk. The time it took for them to bring us food was enough time to get two drinks in us, if that was our goal. Terrible waste of time and money. read more

I am giving a 3-star review for a couple reasons. I'll start off by saying my takeout food was delicious. The issues arose when I had to wait 15 minutes past the quoted time for my order to be brought out. Then the girl who brought it out seemed kinda rude. I said thank you for my food and all I got was "mmhmmm", I didn't get a thank you, have a good night, thanks for your business nothing. Then I get home and realize they did not put one of my sides in the bag thankfully it wasn't the side I paid an up charge for. Willie's is a nice place to get upscale fast food. It offers soups, salads, sandwhiches, burgers, and chicken to include several options of chicken wings. There are several types of beverages, including soft drinks, beer, and mixed drinks. My friend and I ordered a couple of side salads, chicken wings, and a Shiner Boch. The salad was average. However, it was fresh and crisp. The dressing comes on the side with more than enough to eat your salad. The chicken wings we ordered were naked, with half having a lemon pepper dry rub and half a tangy honey garlic flavor. You can order breaded as well. The wings were meaty and had the flavor we chose. They were not dry and cooked just right. Draft Beer comes in 2 sizes, large (20 oz) and small (16 oz) or pint. The beer was cold and complemented the wings perfectly, especially on a hot night as it was last night. Our server (Waverly) was friendly and new to Willie's. She met us at our table promptly, introducing herself, confirming our order, and letting us know even though she was in training that she was ready to assist us. She came back several times as we dined to see if we needed anything else as well as several other servers. The food was out within 15 minutes at max. All the servers were smiling as they worked. Awesome! The dining area has both tables and booths. The booths had 2 people, or larger ones, made for up to six. (4 comfortably) Willie's was clean and well lit. It's a good place to bring your children , even offering a kids menu. There is a large bar inside, too. There is also outside dining with lots of parking. This place was all right, but I don't think it's worth visiting again. The only thing that had seasoning was the fries. You could tell that the oil they made the fried catfish and fried oysters with was clean because it was crisp with no flavor. So I guess that's good. Their waitress/ordering system is a bit weird to me. We placed our order at the counter, got our drinks at the counter, walked in & found our own seats. Then a young waitress came up and took our receipt from us so she knew where to bring the food. Great, but I feel like I've done all the work myself; why do I need to tip 18%+ for that? Because they took my receipt & brought out my food? It seems a bit odd to ask for that much, being we didn't get refills or anything and did the main part by ordering right when we walked in with a different individual. I'd rather sit down and order at the table instead of ordering at the counter if that's the case. The frozen strawberry margarita was just sugar, and I couldn't taste any alcohol.
